Just took possession of my house after a 6 month build with Hotondo Homes. Admittedly the weather went according to plan. All in all a mighty fine job, contract fulfilled smoothly with no dramas and I have a magnificent forever home ready for my old age requirements. My dog loves it. CAN'T GO WRONG WITH HOTONDO.

home builders, really did not know where to start, and had hundreds of questions about the entire process, all of which were patiently answered. During the build, the team offered their seasoned advice on a number of aesthtic and practical aspects of our home that have resulted in our home looking more stunning than we thought possible, all within our quote and budget. Remember nightmares are dreams too – Poor communication, poor customer service, poor conflict resolution. Refuse to answer enquiries or get back to you. Ignore you. Wish I'd gone elsewhere. Power feed in line put in different to written instructions. Meter box put in different to plans. Unable to get price breakdown on requested items. Unable to get prices on colour selection… Read more
changes, several email requests whilst being chased for signature for colour selection. Wrong doors, wrong counter tops, wrong tap different to others,
Bathroom wall out around 25 mm, wrong bath size resulting.
Power point put in different to written instructions.
Future dated letter.
Had to redo front and rear concrete patios, poor standard, was implied my standards are too high and should get own concretor.
Then also change contract, offering half cost of the concrete change.
Then had to redo half of driveway as it varied from 2.6 to 3 meter width.
I'm sure my standards caused that.
Had to refuse handover as downpipes were leaking, 3 times previous were told.
6 months in, leaking from main (spare) toilet flooded 3rd bedroom, plumber stopped leak, my personal insurance company had to fix flooding and stop further damage, still waiting on hotondo to call me back since January 2023
Further leaks found.
Had two air conditioning units installed both failed, one after being used 3 times other leaking water into wall cavity.

Concrete issues remain and simple things are a fight, let alone get fixed.
When trying to repair concrete again, video shows hotondo worker throwing concrete chunks around my property maybe neighbours also, expect a phone call from him.
I'm sure there is more, this is off top of my head and phone.
I'm sure I will find more faults over time.
Unfortunately not enough room for more than 10 photos, have many more.
Head office unhelpful.

toilet roll goes on the wall. The build way faultless and excellently constructed from all avenues. The workmanship was faultless, and everything was done with pride, from the levelling of land, construction, painting and the concreting, all trades people did exceptional work.
Although I had tripped over my due to the extra variations I add to my build, I was quite happy and surprised at the outcome of the extra costs, being appropriate for the work done.

completion on schedule with happy customers. They were helpful, approachable, experienced and friendly, and above all ... great at their job. We really valued that the tradesman that we dealt with and that worked on our home were absolute professionals which meant that the workmanship was of the highest standard. Michelle and Chris were amazing at reworking the plan to make it suit our needs, I really appreciated Michelle's experience and support with colour, fixtures and fittings selections, Dave kept us up to date with any adjustments and alterations, Col kept things running smoothly and consulted regularly and we enjoyed the weekly updates that Vicki emailed to tell us where things are up to and what happens next.
Our home build started in late May and thanks to a dream run, we moved in almost exactly 4 months later.

The quality of workmanship from the start was exemplary - Chris has assembled a team of tradies who are not just skilful but obviously take pride in their task, and we're totally satisfied with our hangar as a result. This was not the end of our Hotondo experience - Chris also oversaw the recommissioning of our house which we moved next to our hangar. Again, Chris and his staff were always very approachable, flexible and knowledgeable, talking us through all of the stages, updating us on costs and providing top quality tradies who have transitioned our house - the end result exceeds our expectations!
