Builder went broke now Head Office won't help – I would recommend that you do not go with Hotondo Homes because of the attitude of head office. I have luckily just managed to get my house through before Hotondo Cowes went broke, however, there is a major issue with the paint and the weatherboards which was supposed to be fixed 2 weeks after handover. Head office are aware but they basically do not care at all, just told me to take it up with the builder. Builder is now broke and painter is of course not returning my calls. Now there are other things wrong which would normally be fixed during the maintenance period and I've just been told "here's the number of the liquidator". Have tried calling them twice and they are not returning my calls either so it seems like I am just stuck with the issues. I probably will have to go the legal road and address it in court.
My advice is if you do go with them get an independent building inspector and make sure every single issue is fixed before handover because if something happens, there will be no support from head office at all, they simply do not care.

Have emailed you, look forward to your action. It's a shame it takes a bad review to get anywhere, but thank you, let's see.
Hotondo has now been in touch, will update this post after developments occur.
So Hotondo have been in touch only to tell me they "think" I can claim this through insurance. Goodbye and good luck, no help other than that
Love our New Hotondo home – Our build was managed very well. Overall the quality of the build is great. Only let down a little by the cabinet maker work which had to be fixed a couple of times over, and took a very long time to complete. This was a frustration to our building supervisor as much as it was to us. Some of the internal paintwork is a little average. As we built with Hotondo who do fixed price contracts we had no surprise costs added anywhere in the build which we were very happy with and also one of the reasons that we chose to use Hotondo.

Hi Susan, We take this kind of feedback very seriously and are deeply sorry for the inconvenience that has been caused. Given the situation of the business, neither an administrator or liquidator has not been appointed to that business, however the home warranty insurance will protect you. We have already been in contact with the insurer today and will make every effort to ensure they help you through this process. Our customer care team would like to discuss this further with you over the phone. Could you please confirm which number is best to contact you on by emailing customercare@hotondo.com.au. Again, we apologise for the inconvenience. Kind regards, Hotondo Homes
