how many years were husquvarna Sapphire 870 Quilt sold?
That information should be available from a Husqvarna retailer or on their website. Mine is around 12 years old.
I’m finding it difficult to understand setting up for fancy/ decorative stitches, guess I’m just dumb ! It isn’t easy as far as I’m concerned, it’s the 870 Saphire , can you help me please.
I haven't used the fancy stitches much myself so can't help much. You will be best to look it up online, they have a lot of instruction videos.
The circle below the okay button with the zigzag Stitch is what you press. That will give you the Stitch menu. Arrow over beside the OK to get the different levels of stitches. Go to the row that you want. Row 1, 2, 3, or 4. Once you get on there, hit your numbers below quickly. If you want 219 for blanket stitch. Go to row 2, then press 19. That will give you 219 which is the blanket stitch. Hope that helps. I use those stitches a lot.
I cannot get the #6 on the graphic display of the 870 to sew without puckering. I am sad as this looks like a great stitch to eliminate using a serger sewing machine. I am using a good quality thread, but no matter what kind of material I use it skips and does not do a neat edge as pictured on the #6 display and puckers. [Email Address Removed] Thank you for any suggestions.
First check that you have the right needle and that the threading of the needle and bobbin is correct. Check also that you have the correct thread. If all this fails ring a Husqvarna service provider and check with them. I have also googled and found a solution to a problem that I had.
Thank you for your response....yes to all your suggestions. I already tried them and no difference. I am really sad as that WOULD be a good, useful program for stitching side hems.
How old is this machine
This information can be found on the Husqvarna website or by Googling. My estimate is about 10 years. My own machine has not given me any trouble in that time.
I really don't know, I just know that I have never had even an ounce of trouble with it. It has been serviced properly and the last time was about 6-8 mos. ago with barely any use since. I have two that are newer and the only reason being, "I got them for a magnificent price. Otherwise I would have certainly ran it till there simply was no more. Hope this helps.
I am having problems adjusting the tension for free motion quilting and also adjusting from twin needle setting to straight stitch
Hi, My 875 quilt doesn't give me the the 'bobbin running out' message any more. Any ideas? Thanks
Seeing masks and machine goggles when reaching seams, any help?
Sorry Judy, I don't understand what you mean by masks and goggles
I have a Sapphire 870 quilt machine I keep getting the msg remove any thread from under stitch plate and in bobbin area. I have remove the bobbin and stitch plate, cleaned the machine, see no thread but still getting the message. Any help?
It means that there is some thread stuck in your bobbin case. Take the bobbin out and you will find a little bit of thread in there.
Oops I just read that you have tried that. Have you put everything back and tried to sew again? Turned the machine off and on again? It might be a little bit of fluff or a tiny piece of thread. I have always found something in the bobbin area when that msg comes up. Good luck
Thank you I have vacuum attachments for small areas so I tried that. keeping my fingers crossed so far has cleared the message. Thank you again. It is nice to know that I can get help when needed.
I have also discovered that when I use my thread cutter ,the next seem I try to sew I get the message that there is thread in the bobbin area. Not finding any thread so until my sewing shop can open again I am manually cutting my thread. hopefully it is just something minor with the auto cutter. Thank you
How do I move the needle position on my Sapphire 850. I have never moved it from the centre position and now I need to know how to move it to the left and right
What thread TENSION must this machine be on for ruler quilting. Please can you help me Regards Lorraine
Yes it's me I also want to know what ruler foot I should use on the 830. Thankfully Lorraine
My 870 is no longer sewing any of the decorative stitches - it's like the feed dogs are no longer working and all the stitches are on top each other. It still sews straight stitch, perhaps something wrong with reverse?
Check that you haven't lowered the feed dogs. They can be lowered for sewing over thick fabric. You might have done it without realising. also check the tension. If non of those things you might need to take it for a service. Good luck
Feed dogs definitely not lowered., have had it back to the dealer 3 times - works well for a short period then reverts to squishing up the stitches. Has anybody else experienced this?
I haven't. I've had my Husqvarna for about 13 14 years. I'm an avid quilter and use my machine most everyday. I go to lots of retreats and use it all day. Good luck with that
When sewing the ribbon stitch, the thread often sews too thickly on the largest portion of the stitch and then gets stuck, no longer moving the fabric along and causing flaws in the stitching pattern. What do I do?
After inserting my needle it looks like it is straight up and down but when I tighten the screw it pushed the needle over so it is no longer straight up and down. What is going on?
Margaret I think you have somehow shifted the needle position. It can be shifted to the right or the left with the + or - button. Unless the needle itself is bent of course, better check this too.
