so glad we got this now – so far I have had no problem with my NBN very satisfied with the speed its heaps better speed so far I have not had to call them about any issues and the price is heaps better Show details
One glitch spoils many years of happy experience with iiNet – This is not a good time for me to give a review. I was happy with my wireless NBN, the patient service given by iiNet Support staff and the general reliability of my package. I do get dropouts but that seems to be an NBN problem and I can easily restore connectivity. But right now I am without netphone and six days of emailing Support brought no… Read more · 1
useful reply. This seems to be related to a current registration for a relocation, which someone must have triggered too early. Finally, a helpful Support person has taken action and given me information about what he has done and when I can expect my netphone number to be restored. I still rate iiNet highly, after more than 20 years association with it and its predecessors back to IAA, but am disappointed by this recent experience and the slow response to my issue. Let's see how they handle my forthcoming relocation!
Satellite service is good, at a good price – I have had the Skymuster satellite Basic service through Iinet for the last five years, and have been an Iinet/Omen customer since 1994. The satellite service has not needed service or support since being installed. The price for the service is good, and the download speed was close to that specified, when last tested. I see no reason to look at other providers at this time. Show details · 1
Iinet are great, satellite product could be better – With satellite, I have learned that the product is very heavily regulated before Iinet get to offer it to their customers. Having said that iinet have always been excellent to deal with, supportive of all questions and enquiries and provide the best satellite service on the market I have found. The satellite service just doesn't have a reasonable… Read more · 1
volume allowance for an average family, but speed, consistency and support from iinet have been good. If you can work within the 60GB per month, or like to be awake between 1 and 7am, then IInet provide the best satellite service i have found.
Technical service when you need it – Occasionally I need technical assistance and seek it by telephone. Each time I have sought technical assistance from iiNet personnel I am quickly linked to a person who is polite, helpful and techno-savvy. It doesn't matter whether they are resident in Australia, South Africa, New Zealand or the Philippines, and I have spoke to all those… Read more · 1
locations, they are all just as helpful, easy to talk to and are outcome oriented. It makes one wonder why, when iiNet can be so effectively helpful, other techno-communications firms (and many other firms that provide trouble shooting services) can't seem to pull it off like iiNet.
Very Good Service – Have been with iinet over 10 years. I am computer useless so get into loads of problems give them a call always fixed with a smile in their voice great service looking forward to next 10 years. Show details · 1
Work well and is good value – The Satellite NBN is reasonably reliable. Occasional drop outs but not that often. Iinet were very helpful with the installation and resolved a few issues we had initially. Although speed tests are useful I find downloading blank files as a better indication of the connection. The results showed it was similar to my phone hotspot. Show details · 1
fast and reliable – fast and reliable service, great boon to outback communities and added bonus of extra data during covid, never had any problems i have been with iinet for over 11years and have always been happy with the service and product Show details · 1
Up and running in no time – With the last couple of days of bad weather our satellite nternet service wouldn’t work. I rang iiNet support and only after a few rings I was actually speaking to a person who could help me. She was extremely helpful and very polite getting my system working again. The next day the same thing happened - no internet. I rang again and this time it was a different girl but with the same professional service. Show details · 1
Iinet gives a good product – Iinet provides a very good, reliable NBN system. My NBN satellite does everything I need. Iinet backup and tech support is always super helpful, courteous and friendly! Despite my scant skill with technical matters. Thanks. Show details · 1
Remote life made safer and easier – Even though there has been 'drop outs' in stormy weather I find the quality of service is of high standards and when I have dealt with Iinet staff i have the feeling that they actually care for my custom, resolving any of my issues. Living in a remote area with a good internet connection makes life a lot easier as well as keeping me up to date on current issues and some entertainment to past the time in isolation. Good For Net Surfing – Use satellite because of rural location. Mostly for Net Surfing, email ect, do not upload or watch movies. Service is good for what I need and I have found the tech support to be very good with operators who will persevere with a difficult problem to find a solution. Show details · 1
Read the Small Print – Connection was 100% better than the ADSL #2 at 2.65mpbs best speed to a whopping 12 mpbs. I did not read the small print so 3/4 of the 200gb of data was during the hours of 1am and 7 am. I only used 150gb over a month on the ADSL, under 2 weeks I had no data for day time use left. I did mention my biggest use would be for streaming TV, but no… Read more
one mentioned how much data that would use. Its back to ADSL and crossing my fingers for me. Apart from that iinet customer service was good

Sad about lack of peak hour download allowance – Dealt well from iinet, all okay, mate. Only issue I have is the connection speed and the download allowances. Iinet's Maximum plan is quite low compared to other satellite isp's such as "activ8me?" Show details
Been with iinet for 14 years. All in all very satisfied with products and service – Unable to get broadband wifi in my rural location so had to get Satellite. Plans are more limited on Satellite but the service has been pretty good with only a few outages over the last year. We also get power outages at about the same rate so I would rate the service as reasonable. Tech support with iinet is very good and I definitely recommend… Read more · 1
them for that. Download speed is typically about 10 Mb/sec which I suppose is in the range of what one could expect from a service with a peak of 12. I have the option of going to up to 25 for not much extra but this has been OK so far. I'd rather an option of more peak download capacity but it isn't available.
Horrendous customer service – After 18 months of being with iinet we were only able to use the network for 6 months. No refund, no support, kept trying to pass the buck. Absolutely the worst phone company experience we have ever had. Never, ever again. Show details

Happy to stay a customer – I have been with iiNet for over ten years and it would take something seriously wrong for me to even contemplate changing to another carrier. My problems have been very few, but I have always been treated with courtesy (and sometimes a little humor). My problems have been dealt with straight away and I do not remember if a problem ever carried over from the initial contact. Show details · 1
Overall very satisfied – Excellent service from iiNet. Lightning strike to our home left NBN out of action but fixed quite promptly. Used to have 3 green bars on NBN box, but now reduced to 2 orange bars almost all the time,. Would like to know why, so need to phone and enquire. Customer for many years and always have had problems addressed within a very short time. Show details · 2
Basic service that keeps me connected – I am generally happy with the service I receive. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful and I have alwaus had any problems resolved within a reasonable time. Connection drops out regularly and this is very annoying but I can live with it as most of the time it is only for short periods. I suspec thatr this is an Optus issue rather than iinet. No modem but one bought from them will work. Add $110 to what you thought you were going to pay and a week to deliver – I haven't even connected yet. BYO modem means BYO modem that you'll have to buy from them. No modem you'll have at home will work, nor any that can be bought at Hervey Norman or Joyce Mayne etc .. Add another $110 to whatever you thought you were going to pay. No lock in contract means - it'll cost me $120 not to proceed with connection (Even though I'm not connected yet). They got me good. I'm an idiot (a disappointed idiot). Show details

Best Customer Support – I have been a satellite internet customer with iinet for nearly 3 years. My very first experience was positive, after hearing all the nightmare tales of others waiting ages to be connected to the nbn, I was pleasantly surprised to have my equipment installed and my connection up and running just 3 days after being approved for satellite. time I have had the need to get support on a few occasions, each time my concerns were taken seriously and dealt with immediately.
Unlike most other businesses, where existing customers are given a lower priority than prospective customers and forced to wade through an automated phone system, then wait interminably for someone to take your call, every time I've called iinet, my call has gone through in under 1 minute and was dealt with straight away.
I live in a rural area, 35km from the nearest town, yet on the two occasions in 3 years that I have needed hardware replaced, it was done the very next day.
I can heartily recommend iinet, I have been an internet user since it's inception and they stand head and shoulders above any other provider in the market.
A very bad experience – Contacted Iinet 2nd Aug and was advised my area was going NBN so I signed up for a new two year contract. I was advised that because Os the two year contract and that I was a long time customer, all charges would be free including cost of modem. I received a bill yesterday for modem charges plus adsl charges after my adsl had been disconnected. I… Read more
called Iinet yesterday and found your staff difficult to talk to and unhelpful. He also said that he wuld not delete the $89 modem charge and I would have to sort thast out with the person who signed me up that he would get that person to call me, which didnt happen. I was advised about the 20th Aug by NBN that my satellite dish would be installed on 21st so I called Iinet to find out where my modem was and it had not been sent. My internet was disconnect by you on the 22nd but was reinstated by you after my call. It was then disconnected again on the 23rd as my phone line had been disconnected by you and I still had no modem which I was advised would arrive on 27th. I went to the post office and fortunately it had arrived on 23rd so I installed it. I find the service slightly slower but I cannot receive signal in areas of my house where I once could. The amount of time spent on this saga I didnt need as I importantly required internet to finalise my overseas trip for two months starting this week. I request that the bill amended to exclude adsl and modem charges. Also I need to know what is going to happen with my phone. You may refer to notes for the history on above.
Additionally, I asked for my account to be suspended while I was overseas as the modem was not expected to arrive before I left, But since it has, I have requested for the suspension not to take place as I was advised by your staff that I can claim on charges on my return. This morning, I cannot access my email account. Please reinstate my email account and confirm that it will not be suspended while I am overseas. I would appreciate your early response to above as I need to be assured that I will be able operate my email account while overseas. Thanks, Keith.

If You Are in a Difficult Location IiNet Is For You – My NBN experience is underwhelming. My options are few. I started with iinet and after many years, mainly because of poor telephone service through NBN Satellite, I switched to another provider. That service was more expensive and the phone service was deplorable. I switched back to iinet. They did not attempt to provide a phone service but put me… Read more · 1
back to Telstra land line. That was again expensive; but now I have reliable phone service. Why don't I use mobile phone? Because there is no mobile service here. My internet speed is sub-optimal but overall, I am better served by Iinet.
My thoughts on Satellite connection – very rarely dropouts, only in severe thunder storms, by what I hear from relations and friends they wish they had of taken Satellite instead of the NBN. Personally I am very happy with iinet Show details · 1
I have found it to be a very good service, without any dramas – I have so far had no problems with the connection, or with the support I have had from the company. Even when I problem was caused by me or a computer glitch, nothing to do with iinet. Show details · 1
Happy User – Started out with Ozemail which iiNet purchased so I have been a user for many years. Gone through the dial up, ADSL and now NBN which has made life much easier. Live in a rural area so don't have firbe optic connection but generally have no problems even in severe thunderstorms. On the rare occassion that I have needed to use support have always found them to be very cheerful and helpful Show details · 1
