Worst service ever! Good luck if you manage to get a reply out of this mob. The phone keeps disconnecting - the help desk does not understand English or are completely incompetent - the sales reps are never available or on leave - it goes on and on. I have no idea how they manage to stay in business. And to make it worse - every credit report I have purchased from them is missing information - a lot of it. Show details
Actually surprisingly a good experience. Once I realised they had some incorrect information on my file, it was easy to get into their portal, check the details, lodge a complaint, and their phone support staff (Sharmil) was effective and efficient in identifying the error and removing it quickly. I believe they are the worst credit reporting agency. Had my creditscore reduce to an amount of almost 130 points because my email address was link to one of website that I'm not even familiar with. No application made in the last 6 months. So how do they justify the reduction of the score that big. My other credit reporting well above 850. I'm utterly disappointed and confused. Show details

this matter I was told that a complaint would be lodged and I would receive a call back with in 5 days, a that time came and went, no call, called them again and was told the same thing, this went on for 3 weeks until I demanded some call me, and finally some did call me where, in the meantime an enquire was added to my file from 2020 which dropped my score further.
When I finally received a call from a complaints officer, I had a bit to say 4 weeks later where I was told more lies When I asked about my score dropping, I advised that there was glitch in their geographical system that caused issues, asking about having the score corrected, I was advised that they cannot manually change the scores, I stated that this is to no fault of mine it is your equipment that has caused this and why should I be penalised for their mistakes I snapped back and stated that they are profiling me based on where I live, which is illegal, their response was we can do what we want.
With regards to Experian, I have found that it was Experian that took over Illion back in 2023.
I have taken this matter to AFCA, where Illion are challenging AFCA on derestriction over this matter, I am still waiting on an outcome of this matter.
I did not think that their could be any credit reporting body then Equifax but yes there is and that is Illion. I now check my report with them every day.

From an operational and adviser-workflow perspective, Illion represents one of the most consistently underperforming service providers we have encountered in the New Zealand advice ecosystem.
Despite commanding premium pricing, the product delivery fails to meet even baseline expectations for accuracy, reliability, or administrative competence. Routine processes are unnecessarily convoluted, support response times are poor, and error resolution often introduces further complications rather than remediation. The net effect is excessive friction, wasted adviser time, and increased downstream risk — all of which are unacceptable in a regulated financial advice environment.
The most concerning issue is not a single failure point, but a systemic pattern: substandard execution across onboarding, ongoing administration, and issue management, with little evidence of accountability or continuous improvement. For a provider embedded so deeply into financial decision-making workflows, this level of operational failure is indefensible.
As a side note, for NZ Mortgage Advisers currently using Illion we highly recommend AffordX presents a materially stronger local alternative. It is purpose-built for the NZ market, aligned to adviser workflows, and demonstrably more responsive from both a product and support standpoint. The platform delivers the functionality advisers actually require, without the excessive cost and operational drag associated with Illion (and the catastrophic service delimma).
I was required to use illion when applying for a very small loan. I use 2 different banks so used scraping for first one with no problems but with the second it continually said my password/numbers were wrong. Australian banking laws by putting my details into anything that wasn’t their bank! I changed/updated my details with the bank and successfully used illion scraping. But then the lender contacted me and said they only had the second illion statement and could I do the first one again! NO WAY, forget you damn lone, I’ll just save for a bit longer. And after reading these reviews I’m definitely giving illion a wide berth!

I reached out to Illions to find out how they had come to this conclusion or where did they get this information from and I was told that i needed to purchase a comprehensive report to gain access to the report. I Paid $390 and on that report they did not give me any different information that could help. After 2 months of chasing and putting in a complaint this was the response I received,

details. Sent an email to them advising them of the issue. No reply. One week later sent an email asking for timeline when the free credit report would be available. Have had no reply. Have sent follow up emails and again received no replies. I have now found out from scam-detector "https://www.scam-detector.com/validator/illion-com-au-review/" that they have a terrible trustworthy score of 6.8 out of 100. This does not give me confidence that I am dealing with a reputable organization. Am concerned that I have been scammed into providing personal details.
Worst credit score company – An inquiry was made on my account as ongoing credit. I never applied for that and tried to communicate with illiion but it resulted in no cooperation from illiion what so ever. Oh, you save your money? You get a bad score! This is a scam – They reduce your credit score by nearly half of you don’t have a mortgage. They will reduce your credit score if you don’t have a credit card. Absolute pish – Applied for a mortgage only to be told that my wife had all sorts of loans, credit cards and other debts from 2008, oddly we didn’t arrive in Australia until 2015!!! have never been and never had any account in my whole life. Even the attitude of customer service is so wrong that they are neither helpful nor point you in right direction. They have put wrong history/information of my credit. Stoned Bankers and their mates – Paying off five loans gives you a credit rating in the mid 900s, pay them off in half the agreed time and suddenly your credit rating drops by 300...
Rubbish and incorrect data – Checked my Illion credit report and on 02/08/22 had an ANZ credit card appear that was closed 20 years ago. Also my address and employer were updated to where I was 20 years ago. It appears illion and ANZ are in bed together. Report to AFCA
worst service – received a notification from Creditsimple/Illion that I had an ANZ credit card closed 02/08/22 - opened in 1998. I didn't even apply for my first line of credit/credit card until 2006. have contacted and waiting now for an answer as to why some random entry is on my file, when it isn't mine and doesn't show in Experian or Equifax.
DISGRACE – I have been trying to help my wife out with her credit score with Illion. Fake and unfair details – They have fake and unfair details. They keep recording the loans that I did not take so far. Very unfair scoring system. Even I have no way to fix them as I did nit take any loans.
Inaccurate scoring – How can my score with Equifax and Experian be Very good (782 and 771 respectively) but 431 with these guys? They must be using an outdated algorithm and need to be investigated for the damage they are doing to the system. The low score prevents people from getting access to credit and if they do, getting good rates.
