Unit is very noisy, blows a LOT of cold air, very inefficient. Very regretful purchase. I then got a AusClimate Cool Seasons Premium 10L for the same price. Far more quiet, more efficient and effective. Wish I purchased this one first. Show details
Being using the appliance for about two month and work perfectly. I use it every day in a rampus room whith high humidity and is helping a lot. I will recommend it. Show details · 1
I find this dehumidifier great quality and does a good job. Well let's see how long it lasts though. Great fast postage from the company too...which you do pay for though. I bought this for my caravan. I wanted the smaller one but it was out of stock and I needed something fast for mold growth which was just starting. So this is more than enough for my small space! I just need to run it for less time. Show details · 1

Works great and very quiet! Highly recommend . I really like it Show details · 1
It's not quite but it performs well – Does what it needs to but gosh it's noisy doing it. Did note this prior to purchasing but its hard to determine what defines noisy. I wanted to have this come on in the morning on low to get a start on the window condensation but the noise wakes me up. Other than that its performing as expected and it's amazing how much additional moisture we are collecting. Show details · 1

Fabulous Water Remover – These machines, I bought two, extract water suoperbly. Second to none and i purchased because of the CHOICE. awards. Show details · 4
Follow-up · We have two, and use daily in winter. On hi you can hear them, but they are pushing through a lot of air. They withdraw around ten litres of water over 24 hours. We have some pretty moist air in winter in South Gippsland. TBH I haven't checked the cost. The benefits are totally measurable. The house air remains dry. You can feel it. These machines are well worth every cent. They do what they claim to do and I am truly very, very impressed.
My excitement is unexplainable. Just buy it ,dont think it twice. Show details · 2

Performance is 5 star, user friendly score is 4 – I have the larger 50m2 IonMax. I am surprised that even in a smaller room (<15m2) it takes a few days to get the RH% down to 50% (even on non wet days), but that might be more a measure of the level of dampness in the room than anything else. I’ve not had a dehumidifier before to compare. The IonMax does the job well.. it’s easy on the eye, the… Read more
water reservoir is easy to remove and empty, It’s not too loud (although I wouldn’t recommend having it on while sleeping). Reasonable user guide to understand what the settings/buttons mean. I ordered using express delivery.. Ordered on Monday and I had it in Sydney by Thr. Excellent given most of Syd at the time had NIL stock of any dehumidifier! I do have a few suggestions to improve it's user friendliness. :-) A Digital display that tells you what the RH% is. While you do have the 50%, 60% and 40% settings, it would be good to have higher resolution. I’ve had to buy a little hand held Hygrometer (a cheap one under $20) to work out which rooms need the dehumidifer most. Of course the little hand held doesn't match the Ionmax response, ie the Ionmax set at 50%RH goes to fan mode when the handheld says its 44%RH. If not a display, then a led light telling you it’s on fan would be helpful. Saves having to listen in and or switch to 60% (from 50% to see if the sound changes) Perhaps a couple of wheels on the back of the Ionmax would help move it from room to room - easier for those who aren’t quite so strong or mobile.
Completely stopped chronic condensation problem – I couldn't recommend this strongly enough. We moved into our two bed flat in Summer, but noticed at the beginning of Autumn that every window was getting condensation, which got progressively worse. The wooden frames were constantly damp and mould started to grow around the sills. We decided to get the 632 model rather than a smaller model because… Read more
the problem was so bad. It has been fantastic; there's no longer condensation on any window, and I can have a shower with it on and the mirror doesn't even fog up. We've only had it for a couple of weeks, so I'm not sure yet how long we need to keep it on to stop the condensation developing, but I think quite a lot. This will mean an increase in our energy bills, but it's worth it to combat the mould problem. It's very easy to use, the buttons are all very self explanatory and the bucket is simple to remove and put back. The noise is equivalent to a fan or heater, so it's not so loud that it bothers you. The only thing I didn't find on other reviews was that occasionally it makes a noise like a tap has been turned on a tiny bit - basically a dribble of water. I think that's the water pooling, but it's not very often and I imagine all models do this. I bought mine from dehumidifiers online, and they were much cheaper than elsewhere, and it arrived two days after I ordered it. We will be using this for many years to come! Love it!
Efficient and fast! Can't live without it – This unit has been a lifesaver since I bought it. Desperate for a dehumidifier I bought the Choice review on dehumidifiers, saw this was rated #1. After a few phone calls and emails to different stores, confirmed that this was indeed the 'best choice' and after finding the cheapest price online, bought it! It has since removed the nasty mould and… Read more
condensation problem in my apartment!
This unit is also super efficient. I leave it outside my bathroom door which is also near my bedroom door, and at night it also acts as a heater during winter. Really really handy. Not too noisy, it's just the same noise level as my fan. It's energy efficient as well, has some preset modes and turns itself off once it's done 'dehumidifying' the air. I connect it to the drainage hole in the laundry area so I don't have to keep track of the tank. After a couple of hours I find that it has removed the moisture from my bathroom, and also my living area where there used to be a lot of condensation and mould on the windows!
Had a slight problem with the company when I first got the product but that was incredibly quickly fixed with a phone call to the company I bought it from, and the manufacturer called me right after to fix the problem and even registered my warranty for me.
Overall such a good experience and loving the product. I used it a lot during winter and now am finding it useful as the months get colder. Efficient, pre-set modes, easy to use, quiet Bulky, takes up space

We've had this a little over 2 years now and it's been a great investment. It's kept the humidity of the room under 50 and although it's a little under 8kg, it's easily portable with the handle to move between rooms. Being a desiccant dehumidifier, it's quieter but initially the smell can be a little over powering. It's really easy to use without… Read more · 1
too many complicated buttons. The tank is large enough so we empty it every couple of days and the only criticism is that it can be difficult to remove the tank due to its design. Another big plus is the additional 2 year warranty to take it to 4 years when you register online but this machine has been running flawlessly since we've had it.
Highly recommend – Have been using the ionmax for about six months now after a recommendation from a mould expert. These are superior to a previous brand of dehumidifier we had. Very powerful and effective. In Canberra winter our 2 ionmax dehumidifiers stay on for most of the day/night. Only downside is that they’re not quiet, but I’ll take the effectiveness over the noise any day. Show details · 2

Excellent Dehumidifier! Highly Effective! – This dehumidifier works brilliantly, quickly reducing moisture and improving air quality. The laundry mode is a lifesaver on wet days, speeding up drying time. Overall, very happy with this purchase! Show reply

Makes the room hot. I ordered a dehumidifier not a heater – This dehumidifier works at dehumidifying, but I'm very disappointed in it, as it also heats the room, which in Sydney is problematic, as much of our dampness occurs in the warmer months. Just about to write to IonMax about this as it is very disappointing
Terrible – Has a burning smell that floods all of my rooms. Been using it for months and months because I need it unless I want high humidity. Smells like toxic burnt plastic. Also what kind of machine in 2021 doesn't have wifi control. Also you would expect a dehumidifier to have a humidity reading on it. Show details

Marriage saver! – Brilliant! Not sure about indoor air quality, but its effectiveness as a dehumidifier is outstanding. For years we have suffered from serious humidity issues but had never previously tried a dehumidifier. This one does everything claimed, and does it quickly and quietly - on cold days there is also a slight warming effect which is most welcome. Programming features are excellent, and the controls simple to understand and operate. Show reply
You won't regret buying this – We have had this dehumidifier for years and it's still going strong. I highly recommend for value for money and quality of a durable product. Show details · 1
Great machine and I love using it – This machine was recommended by Choice magazine and my neighbor encouraged me to buy it. I am very happy when it is working properly however I have had to send it back to the supplier a few times to fix. I have been satisfied with the customer service and have not been charged for fixing it. They recently replaced the unit with a trade in at a discount price. I recommend it thoroughly because it improves the air quality and makes the room warmer. Show details · 1
Great value dehumidifier for around the house – Great for dehumidification around the house, particularly if you have a damp problem. We bought this to replace an ION612 we used for nearly 10yrs before needing to replace. Show details · 1

Works really well reducing the humidity inside a room – Works well. We live on the coast in NSW so humidity can be high. The Ionmax does a good job of reducing the moisture in the air and stopping the onset of mould. When this one stops working will get another one. Show details · 1
Satisfied purchase – After some detailed research as we had a dampness issue in some rooms in Winter in Victoria, I settled on purchasing this dehumidifier. It’s great, no ongoing filter replacement costs, works efficiently, the air quality is definitely noticeable and collects an amazing amount of water. The room temperature increases when it’s on but no issue for us… Read more · 1
in Winter, it’s reasonably quiet & I like the number of programming options which you can personally adjust. For our needs it’s perfect.
Great humdity control in cold climates – Keeps my archival storage unit under even humidity control. Works well in very low temperatures. The external drainage hose is a great feature enabling the unit to be left unattended for weeks at a time. The machine does raise the temperature of the room by a few degrees, but that is an advantage in cold climates. Show reply
Easy and effective room moisture control – Easy to use and quickly reduces moisture in a room. I've measured the humidity reduction and seen a noticeable reduction in condensation on windows in winter, and much less mould growth. Show details · 1
Amazing! – I love this! During the winter in particular, I am amazed at how much moisture is collected in our bedroom. It has gotten rid of any pre-existing mold and the entire bedroom seems fresher. I love the noise of it, it helps me sleep, but others may find it too loud. If that is the case, I recommend running it during the day instead. It came recommended to me by a friend and I am happy to highly recommend it as well. Show details · 1
Great insurance policy to protect shoes and clothes – The quantum of moisture extracted on the 4 hour cycle is beyond belief. Used predominantly in a walk-in robe where would often find green mold on leather soles of shoes, and signs of moisture 'penetration' into clothes on lower shelves. My wardrobe and shoes are insured for $60,000, this device is great protection. It's very quiet on the Low setting. Show details · 2
Does the job well – We have had an ionmax for years. In our very old stone home in SE SA, we had trouble with condensation and mustiness ...not any more! Efficient extraction of water and easy to use in our cold climate. We now have a burst water pipe inside, so we bought another one to dry it out. The moisture levels in the wall are dropping dramatically. It even gets the washing dry! Fantastic service too, attention to detail and personable. Thanks. Show details · 1
Cost effective option – Very easy to use. The panel is simple and intuitive and it certainly does the job. I appreciate the included tubing so that I can run it constantly into the drain without having to worry about overflow. The option of using the timer or running it constantly is a useful feature. It’s also well priced compared to others on the market. The only downside is the noise even on the low setting. Show details · 1
