Repair of Heritage building damaged by fire.
We were pleased with the attention to detail of Repair of Heritage building (Burwood NSW Uniting Church) damaged by fire. Trades persons were knowledgeable and the head contractor kept us informed of timetable amendments as some trades were difficult to source.

Unprofessional, not efficient
Don't arrange a time to come and inspect the property, just arrive and ask to check, no management of paperwork, they loose it and Ask again to check the property

My project manager AA was fantastic. He was very communicative, responded to calls and emails promptly. The contractor they used to fix my ceiling damage was also excellent.

Delivered great repairs!
JL came and reviewed the issues fairly quickly. They assigned our job to a contractor who was just amazing! Courteous, timely, came when they said they would, tidy during the repairs, clean up afterwards. As roofing contractors - they were fantastic!

unprofessional
unprofessional and take forever to do something. You have to find the exact person for an update. I am going to avoid any insurers who do not offer any alternative to john Lyng.

USELESS
They were our insurers nominated contractor.
After untold dealings with them that dragged on and on and on we decided to park our considerable amount of dollars with a (professional) company.
There appears to be a lot of dead wood within this organisation.
Read the reviews.
Enough said.

Traumatising
“Traumatic”, describes my overall experience with Johns Lyng. It started with poor communications; then followed with delays; downplaying poor workmanship; supporting the use of a tradesperson who is not a licensed tiler to fix tiling problems; and more recently, submitting to my insurer, photos taken of a bathtub after it was damaged during renovations, describing them as showing its original condition; and then their representative saying that when a bath repair person was here, he also was here, when he was not.
At their request, I submi...
Read moretted to them ‘before’ photos of the undamaged bathtub and ‘after’ photos of the damages that had been discovered after reinstallation, both via text and email (all dated), to ensure they received the best quality images to choose from. Their representative then forwarded ‘after’ photos showing chips and scratches on the tub to the insurance company, describing them as showing its original condition. A statement followed that neither they, or their contractor would be accepting responsibility for the damages. On 17 September 2021, my insurers submitted to me a 'practical completion date' of 15 October 2021. Works were started around the end of November to early December 2021. Today is 29 May 2022, the bathroom is still not completed and the issues are not resolved. This experience has negatively affected my health. Medical professionals' investigations into symptoms that indicate potential Multiple Sclerosis, or Vitamin B Deficiency have concluded that the presented symptoms are stress related. I believe this to be true, because every time I interact with anyone in relation to the bathroom, my symptoms intensify. In relation to the aforementioned, I have had to pay medical costs and have suffered a reduced quality of life. I hope I never have to make a home insurance claim again. If I do, I will insist that Johns Lyng and the contractors involved, not be engaged. Further, I can only assume that the people who gave them 5 star ratings did not have any issues with the workmanship of their contractors. In my case, numerous things went wrong and neither party will take responsibility. FYI, I have submitted photos of some of the tiling as it currently stands. Please note the strip that was applied to the side of the bathtub to help hide the misaligned tiles.- Customer Service
