The work the boys did was a professional job, well finished and seamless. They communicated well to notify me as to when they would be coming and fitted in well with my work hours.

Once we got the painters onsite, the work only took 1/2 day to complete.
John's Lyng rep was very efficient in organising the tradies but not in returning email. Overall happy with job.
Because of their inefficient management skills, our variations got lost in the system twice! Holding us up for at least 5 weeks each time. This has pushed us back 3 months from getting back into our home after the flood.
After the attempted burglary
Once I understood the process, everything went very well.
Compliments to Daniel, the 'Make Safe' tradie who turned up on a Saturday night to board up the broken windows and to Nick who organised all the other processes. What a relief!
The job was done well but the management and communications leading up to the job were poor
The guy organizing the job was rude, I had to constantly follow him up and lots of broken promises. The actual tradies who did the job were courteous and professional.

Our insurance using Johns Lyng was outstandingly fast and efficient. Nathan our site manager and the contractors were spectacularly friendly and efficient. Clean, prompt and friendly. Online app for updates was great. House looks brand new! 5 stars!

Insurance job review
Johns Lyng Group contacted us within a few days of Youi Ins approving the claim. They were very professional in their dealings with us and once the excess was paid the started to organize the contractor to start the job.Communication from Johns Lyng Group was good except for the format of the on-line link they gave us to use. It wasn't compatible to Windows 10 so after contacting them it was agreed that we had to revert to email communication, which was satisfactory. The building contractor, Chip n Chisel, engaged by Johns Lyng Group was excellent. They kept us informed of work dates and progress of the job and went beyond normal expectations. We are very happy with the outcome of the repairs.

Excellent customer service from everyone involved. From the initial email and subsequent emails to check how things were going and with paperwork for me to sign etc I was kept informed the whole way through until completion of the work required. The assessors, builder and other workers did a very good job to a high standard. I would highly recommend John’s Lyng Group as a result of my experience.

There is an ongoing problem with the garage door. It often needs three button presses to get it down.

Fourteen months of my life wasted waiting for Johns Lyng to DO SOMETHING!
House fire July 9th, 2019. Demolished and site cleared in September '19. Architect draws up plans for replacement house in September '19. All permits issued but one year on - still a bare site. Three changes of management, one major executive so rude I have banned him from the site, poor to non-existent communication with us - they react only to an absolute blow-up by us for action and that is answered with flowers and chocolates - not a building! Be careful, they are repairers, not builders! They have had to employ a builder to (they say!) build our house. I cannot understand why companies like GIO and Suncorp employ these so called 'builders' to do their building work. What of the duty of care of their clients???
I really hope that i never experience this again
Very poor communication and at times conflicting messages from representatives - you need one person who is responsible for communicating. Several inspections were required to identify the damage and plan for rectification works (no wonder insurance premiums are going up! Doing the job several times (inspections etc) only adds unnecessary cost and wastes a lot of my time). Took over six months to rectify the damage - would you be happy with this?
This company has been nothing but prompt and professional with two separate items relating to an insurance claim. Great job, minimal disruption and cleaned up afterwards. Really couldn't have asked for better service.
How can a family not be back in their home after over a year?
We have seen the emotional rollercoaster our freinds have been through with this builder. Its been over a year of waiting to get back into their home.
I have seen hope as there have been recommittments made by the builder, and despair as those promises have not been fulfiled.
Just get the job done... and I hope others aren't being put through the same.
Its an emotional enough time to deal with a house fire. Works not being delivered in a timely manner is an extra slap to a family already going through this tough time.
