A bad situation made easy

Repairs for Insurance
The service we received from the trades was informative even when someone didn't arrive for work and they reschedule the job urgently. The tradesman were clean and tidy and did a great job.

the project manager was excellent in his approach however there are some points to note which spoilt what would have been a "well done" project. the existing light switches and GPO's were replaced with white. I suggested it would have been a very easy job to flick the cover plates off and paint them to match the existing switches and GPO's. the painters left a filthy kitchen sink where they cleaned their equipment. a spill on the concrete outside was just let. took me 2 hours to clean that up.
Cowboy builders - Avoid at all costs!
A dreadful company to deal with. I had to wait over 6 months for them to "fix" an insurance claim, which they managed to screw up twice through shoddy workmanship and under quoting the work. Every time I went back to them to explain that they had to fix their errors, I was greeted with nothing more than belligerence and indifference. I was in a crazy situation where NRMA (the insurance company!!!) agreed with me and requested for the work to be done, only for Johns Lyng to refuse and claim that the work was "close enough" (see picture below of ...their handy work). A horrible bunch of cowboy builders if ever I saw one......to the extent that I had to pay another company, out of my own pocket, to fix what they couldn't or more to the point......wouldn't. If I could sum up their approach to the customer and work in general, it would be that close enough, is good enough. A terrible attitude for a terrible bunch of people. Avoid at all costs.

Amazing level of customer service
My house was supposed to be settled last Friday and on Wednesday night we had a water damage all over our timber floors and garage. Thursday morning i contacted my insurance company and within 2 hours the electrician was on site followed by the estimator who worked really quick to submit the quote and the insurance company approved it. They also are working really hard to fix all the issues within my 10 day deadline to handover the house ... i had other companies in the past who worked on my.insurance claim ...but i am really amazed by the level of support and empathy offered by the team

Why does it take 5 or so weeks for a variation to be approved ,when the local rep in Townsville had sent it to management so long ago..This is now the second time this has happened in our rebuild ,and is keeping us out of our house unnessaryily,and costing the insurance company 3 months rent..No wonder our premiums will go up
