Pram fully tipped over with newborn in it! – We purchased our Joolz Day pram from Baby Bunting in 2016. Although we have been generally happy with it, the prams front wheels regularly locked automatically (and randomly) despite us making sure that it had been fully "unlatched" or the mechanism pushed up fully. Albeit annoying and inconvenient, we didn't view it as being a safety issue hence… Read more

we continued using the pram.

However, that changed last week. Whilst making a slight turn at the shopping centre, the front wheel locked again and the pram fully tipped over on the side with my newborn baby in it ! I note that my baby was in a car seat capsule (with the approved joolz adaptors) and I did turn abruptly (I was following my toodler). However I do not feel like these circumstances should justify what happened.

Ive since been told by my friend that she had decided NOT to purchase the joolz some time ago as she had read online reviews about the incident of the front wheels locking randomly by other customers. Given my incident isn't an isolated one. I am now very regretful that I did not undertake online reviews prior to purchasing our joolz as we would not purchased if we knew.

Joolz customer service is outsourced to a company called Anstel. All Anstel could really offer was new wheels as pram was outside warranty. We declined the offer as we are still very shaken up by the incident and new wheels does not provide us with comfort given wheels locking is not an isolated incident.

So with just under 3 years use, this pram is now going to trash.I'm surprised there hasn't been a recall on this model.

Gone the distance and worth the investment - make sure you also get some of the extras though – Highly recommended! Our Joolz Day Earth series is now four and a half years old and every time I take it out I think "must get online and give these wheels some props" so here we go. We originally went to the baby shop with something else in mind and came out with a Joolz. We have been so happy with our decision every day since. It's seen us… Read more

through two kids first in bassinet then stroller seat, first facing in then facing out and with the second child, with scooter board attachment on occasionally too, and it's still a dream to push and steer with one hand or two. A lot of people have been surprised by the fantastic handling, and that awesome suspension has held up really well. You do need to keep the air pressure up in the back wheels to keep the ride smooth. We probably check or pump ours up every couple of months but probably should do it more often. We travelled many times with the pram (using Stokke pram pack to transport it if flying) and used the bassinet for small baby to sleep in while away rather than a portacot - much snugger, and a great night's sleep in a familiar environment for baby. I don't know if it ended up getting Australian certification but does meet European standards for a baby sleep environment, which was a big plus for us at the time.

I highly recommend using this pram with:

- Joolz nappy bag (which the Day Earth series came with): a great size for stashing a lot of handbaggy stuff along with the nappies, plus a drink bottle can fit in here if you don't have the bottle holder

- Joolz UV sunhood: This UV rated shade cover should be compulsory for anyone buying it in Oz. MUCH better than a muslin cloth hanging over the bassinet, this snaps in around the hood and provides essential shade you don't otherwise have over baby's head even when it isn't opened out, in both the bassinet and stroller. When you open it out, elastic keeps it snug around the end of the bassinet or stroller seat so it also keeps out flies etc and fits so well it would never blow off, but you can easily peek in to see baby either under the sunhood or by lifting the base of the stroller hood. This really is essential - I am thankful for it every day.

- Joolz shopping bag: My goodness! This thing is worth its weight in gold. It works best when the stroller is facing forward, and not so well with the bassinet or backwards stroller as those restrict the space it can occupy. I can't remember what the specs were on it originally (?5kg of groceries?) but for a couple of years it was in daily use because we walk to the shops and then home with shopping, and I still do this and cram about $120 worth of groceries weighing about 30kg in there every weekend. It is tough and you can fit so much in there. Also great when out and about for the amount of jumpers, snacks, picnic blankets, balls etc you can wedge into it - I've even added a couple of Cruzee balance bikes on top at times.

- Joolz scooter board: First child was not so happy to move onto this when second child arrived, but I found it extremely useful for helping with the shopping. You can wheel the pram to the shops with the scooter board flipped up out of the way, then flip it down and stick your supermarket shopping basket on it to get around the aisles, then put your packed supermarket shopping bags on it when you leave (2 coles or Woolies bags sand up on it quite well if packed evenly) - or things like boxes of nappies. It's like a little trailer for the pram, especially useful when you have the bassinet on and cannot get full value from the Joolz shopping bag. And once second child was able to stand, the kids began to fight over who got to go on the scooter board. Sometimes they sit on it instead, but it's been pretty good, and much better than the generic scooter board I bought for our 'portable' stroller.

- Joolz drink bottle holder: This was pretty useful for either an actual drink bottle or a large cup to hold loose items (keys, toys, phone, snacks) and random rubbish. We were extremely upset when someone pinched it one day.

- generic lambswool seat liner: can go in the bassinet under a sheet, then into the stroller seat, to keep baby warm. We bought the Joolz sleeping bag to keep baby warm but it never seemed to fit very well, and we found the lambswool liner a much better option - we do however use the Joolz sleeping bag in two other prams where it has been put to very good use!

This pram has been ultra durable. We live in the inner city and the pram has been our primary vehicle because we walk to get around. We've put serious kms on it. My partner is very fit and across two kids took around 16 months of parental leave, during which time I would say he averaged at least 5km a day with this pram going for walks, doing shopping, going to the playground, library etc. He used it for running as well as walking - we did later upgrade to a proper running pram for half marathon distance and up but this was great for running in and out of the suburbs to visit people or do the weekly parkrun etc. If running with it, make sure to engage the front wheel locks or the pram might deviate unexpectedly when it hits sudden obstacles on the path, that's just standard pramsense. The pram has also been an epic workhorse for shopping - which we do daily, and just generally getting around with the kids in comfort and as much stuff as we need to carry with. We refer to it as our Bentley (while the running pram is the 'sports car'). I love the flexibility with the seat - forward facing or back, three modes of recline including horizontal, and able to sit up to a table to replace a high chair when eating out. We used it like this quite a bit, as a chair at a table. I have a two year old who still insists on moving from his bed to the pram with the stroller seat at full recline when he is having a difficult night, as that works for him very well and he just loves this pram. He refers to it as "the comfy pram". It is also really tough because both my kids are now only a couple of kgs short of the specified weight limit of 17kg and they climb in and out of it by themselves all the time at all angles of recline and it has always looked safe and strong. It has also been in the rain a lot - we use it with the excellent standard rain cover - and that hasn't affected the handling or anything.

As far as maintenance goes, over the last four and a half years the fabric parts have had a couple of good wash downs, and we've taken it apart to clean and lubricate the wheels a couple of times. The large wheels are very easy to take off (press the middle and pull) and I do recommend this as we were surprised how many long hairs (we both have short) had wound their way in there to wrap around the moving parts. We recently had a tube give up the ghost when one of the back wheels kept going flat but were able to replace the tubes at Bunnings (apparently they are wheelbarrow standard!) and it is good as gold again now.

We haven't folded our Joolz up much and did struggle with this at first because we didn't do it very often and would forget how. I didn't find the folding mechanism very easy, but as we had to do it so infrequently it wasn't really a problem for us. I expect current models have a much better mechanism.

LOVED this pram and I've had many – This was one of those 'best' purchase ever scenarios. After multiple children and multiple prams, yes including a bugaboo the time before (we gave it away to a friend when we thought we'd finished), this was by far my husband and my pick of the bunch. It wins on all fronts. It is super maneuverable - I could easily do it one handed with… Read more

groceries in the other and at times with only fingers!!! It is easily collapsible. I agree it does take getting used to but once you get it - it is a pinch. We got the cup holder (which we more often used for bottles) and the grocery bag for extra storage. Finally, it looks great. I had far more people approach me shopping with the Joolz asking me what kind of stroller it was than when I had the Bugaboo. Go figure.

Anyway, we resold it in immaculate condition, with attachments for the Micro Cozi car capsule, for good resale value. So it was a great stroller and we were very happy and happy to recommend to our friends expecting also.

Just ok - earth day – I really like that the seat is higher than usual, the extendable footrest and the classic look. The tyres are good but are filled with air so they are at risk of going flat. The bassinette is lovely, however the seat needs improvement. First up folding is akward and quite difficult. I find it too heavy (12,1 kg) to lift with the seat on, so I take… Read more

it off to fold. The removal of the seat and the seat reclining botton are ok but you need to press quite hard. The seat looks lovely when looked at from the side, but when looking at it from the front it looses its magic - the extendable footrest is made from hard plastic which looks quite cheap. the seat is attached to the frame by a visible zip and a velcro - the velcro came off after a while - and as it's where bub's legs are he gets scratched. The zip is completely exposed - sand, foodcrumps etc all gather in the fold - not the cleverest design. It also looks slightly backpacker-ish, which does not go well with the overall more classy look. The seat is not overly padded and the seatbelt is Ok but again a bit hard to open and close. The storage basket is a complete joke - nothing fits in it. All in all, nice try joolz but I think this pram needs a bit of a rethink to make the high pricetag justifiable. It just does not feel luxurious enough for a 1600$ pram. I wish I bought a bugaboo or icandy.

Great classy pram – I've had this pram for 2 children. The bassinet wasn't really our jam so I can't review on that function. However, the seat has been wonderful! It always looks classy when we are out and I love the height, so its a chair at tables. I enjoyed how tall the pram is too, so that was my no.1 thing when buying. Plus it turns on a dime!! stearing.

Cons. I have to say the cream colour under the canopy is just horrible to clean. It never truly looks clean anymore.

The height of the seat, my fist is tall so I only got to about 18months with her before she just looked cramped.

And the basket was a little small. Essential items only.

Othetwise a great buy with resale potential

Love it! – The easiest pram to wheel around! Had to Google how to fold it up as I was too excited when purchasing to take notice of the demonstration! Also takes up very minimal space in the car too! The bassinet attachment is perfect for when bub was little and given the wear and tear, still looks brand new! :)

Fantastic! – This is a fantastic pram! Its sturdy, compact, and very easy to use. The only negatives are that the basket is too small however I believe the new model has rectified this. Also that you can’t change the direction of the seat without unclipping it. I’d recommend the Joolz brand.

Sturdy but bulky – Very easy to manoeuvre. Large bassinet good for long babies. Long push bar extension, good for tall parents. Very sturdy and easy to manoeuvre – I've been using the Joolz day Earth stroller now for 2.5 years and I really do love it. It is a little on the heavy side, but I have lifted far far heavier. You tend to get used to it's weight fairly quickly. It's very stylish, solid and despite it's size is very easy to manoeuvre. On the negative side, the accessories are an additional cost, but… Read more ·  1

at least you can pick and choose what you need for your personal lifestyle. The lower storage basket is way too small (I believe this has been remedied in the newer day model... wish I had that one!) and the front legs don't lock when it is folded so when lifting they can fall down if you don't have it orintated the wrong way... which I've done... many times. Other than that, it's a great pram and is standing the test of time.

Very happy with this pram – This pram is worth the money. It is easy to use, lightweight and has many ways to make it more comfortable for the baby. The canopy could be bigger to block out more sunlight, but by turning the seat around, that mostly solves the problem. Having a leather handle allows for easy cleaning.

Great overall pram – Design and functionality is great with this pram. We bought this pram over the bugaboo as we preferred the design and the Joolz Day had a foot brake over the hand brake which we found difficult to use. Heavy... way too heavy – Joolz is easy to manoeuvre, great on all type of floor, very stable. It looks very fashionable and the height of the seat is perfect height as a high chair. However, it is hard to fold, and it folds very big. the chassis is very very heavy, i have problem trying to lift it up to the back of my car. the button to take the bassinet and seat is hard to press down. The basket is very small, very hard to take it with me to do grocery shopping.

Heavy – The pram is easy to maneuver but quite heavy. The folding mechanism Is cumbersome. The button to take off the bassinet/seat (it is too heavy for me to carry it as one piece with the seat on) is hard to push. The tyres need to be filled with air regularily. Wants: Joolz please PLEASE make an extended sun canopy like the Bugaboo extended sun canopy. The current hood is far too small. It should have multiple stops and almost touch Bubs feet when closed thus removing all distractions and letting them sleep in dark shade. I have the Joolz UV sunhood and it's just not good enough. For a product so well considered this accessory seems like an afterthought. Mine has stretched out and now always flops off the aluminum edging while staying on the snap buttons, hitting Bub on the way down. Has not even lasted a year as Bub is only 10 months old. We need a robust, enormous sun hood to protect our babies!

The only think which I don't like - and I did not think about this prior to purchase (I saw Joolz Day Earth in Parrot Blue and felt in love), is sun protection. The hood does not go low enough. You can buy the extension and the umbrella, but I found the umbrella irritating. If you are walking on a path which has many turns, you have to constantly readjust the umbrella so that it protects your bub. But other than that - I would give it 10 out of 10.

high chair when out, pushed up to a table, the height is perfect and I can alter the height of the handlebar so that I don't take up too much space while it is facing into a table.

One complaint is the storage basket is too small, on the plus side, at least I haven't been able to keep lots of junk in there like I have with other prams (this is my fifth pram). One other small complaint would be that I still find it easier to pull it into two pieces to put it in the boot rather than leave it whole which you can do when using the seat. It is too heavy to lift in one piece and it unfolds itself awkwardly if you're not careful when you manoeuvre it into the boot.

Given my time over I would buy this one again!

Dangerous occurrence creates sleepless nights for mother – The Jools Earth Collection Day Model was purchased at great expense as the Rolls Royce of prams and it certainly looks the part but exteriors are only superficial. horizontal position to a vertical position in an instant and it was only with great fortune that the center bar, that is normally not used, was in place to prevent her from landing head first onto the concrete footpath.

A good engineering design should never allow for this dangerous ejection practice to take place. Clearly Australian Standards are not good enough and don't address this fault. Currently trying to get feedback from supplier and manufacturer on this product as I don't want this happening to others.

If the strollers' bassinet or chair seems to be unstable or moving greater than expected then be forewarned this could release the prams open locked state whilst being pushed.

on the seat advises it is not suitable for babies under 6 months and I believe that is because it can be bad for their back, so if anything, I'd recommend a seat that can also lie flat. I've had no issues with the size of the basket, however it would be nice to have somewhere on the pram where you can hang light shopping bags.

I agree with all other reviews in that the sun good doesn't extend far enough and the pram in itself is quite bulky and in my wagon, it takes up the entire boot! I know you can compact the Joolz further however this is not always pratical. I didn't purchase the matching baby bag as for the price, I found it to be of poor quality and quite small. Overall, the Joolz is great on all types of surfaces and has a great turning circle and is very easy to manoeuvre. I'd recommend this pram to anyone who has the room for it :)

Uber stylish but it stops there – It’s been almost a year since I have had the Joolz day pram (Earth edition) I thought I would give it some time as it was the most expensive baby item we purchased and I wanted to provide an honest and thoughtful review. For the first 2 months we used the bassinet as my son’s sleeping quarters. He was very comfy in there and being approved for… Read more

night sleeping was great. As a new mother it was very practical rolling him around in the pram at home.

When he got a little bigger he shifted into his rocker and the pram was solely used for the outdoors and shopping. I live in a fairly new estate so walking with the joolz required a lot of ‘4x4’ time on dirt roads and concrete paths. It did the job exceptionally well. The only thing to note is that because the chassis is black it would get quite dirty and also little stones and mud would often flick into and on the storage box.

The bassinet and frame are quite heavy put together which can be difficult loading and unloading into a 4WD. You should also consider that it requires detaching before you can fold it. This became an annoyance after a while. Also when you begin to use the seat you still need to set the seat in the folding position before you can fold it with the frame. Folding it with one arm/hand and placing it in the car is almost impossible. Another annoyance was the inability to shift the position of the seat from back to front. You need to take your child out of the seat and use both hands to un-attach then re-attach the seat back to the frame.

Also take into consideration that the hood of the pram does not have much depth, especially when the seat is reclined fully. You can buy an additional sun visor but it costs around $70. I found the hood to be inadequate once the afternoon sun hit the pram on walks. Although the pram is exceptionally stylish, the storage component offers only a small area to put things in. You can buy a bag ($60) that you attach (I think it is meant to be for groceries) but you can’t use it if you have the bassinet attached or if the seat is facing you. And to be honest, $60 for a mesh attachment onto the pram is quite ridiculous.

Apart from these (personally annoying) things my son looked like he enjoyed lying and sitting in the seat.

Once my son hit the 6month mark, shifting him from a lying position to a seating position was quite hard with the stiff buttons. You also needed two hands to do this.

We found that it was almost impossible for him to sit in the highest seat position – mainly because he would slip down and with only the seatbelt holding in his crotch he would get frustrated. The length of the seat is too narrow. Also to note that my son is 50th percentile in weight but in height he is 75th percentile.

Now at 10 months as my son is quite tall in the torso, it seems like he is very uncomfortable sitting up on the seat. I can assume that by the time he reaches 2, he won’t be able to sit in the seat as he will be too tall.

I don’t want this to be a negative review, I am just providing my honest opinions. I can end on this review in noting that I had a lot of women ask me about the pram and having the extension of the handle for my 6foot husband was really handy.

If I could go back and reconsider this purchase – I would. I would not have bought this pram in hindsight. I do love it though as it is beautiful but unfortunately not practical and now that my son is almost 1yrs of age I am not going to get any use of it until the next baby arrives. I have since purchased a $150 stroller that caters better to our needs.

I would probably not recommend it either as I believe now there are much better options out there in a better price bracket. Buy this pram only if you want to look cool but for nothing else.

Stylish pram that turns heads.. but hard to fold and bulky! – As a busy young couple we have always knew that one day when we have a child we would want one that is stylish, light, efficient and compact.. And this pram has ticked only some of these boxes! The design is very stylish with the leather handles and eye catchy colours (we chose red). The pram itself is meant to be very compact and straightforward,… Read more

however it is so hard to work out how to fold it. You should really make sure you can fold the pram yourself before purchasing it for the looks. The sales people at Babybunting must have got way too many practices to make it look it was so effortless to fold the pram, but surely it must have taken a while cos until the day we sold it on Gumtree, I personally could not work out how to fold it down, unfortunately. We let the pram go in its brand new state and lost a couple of hundreds Dollar.

Also you won't be able to put too many stuffs when you go grocery shopping as the compartment won't fit anything bigger than a shoe box. We love the fact that the pram comes with a free bassinet for newborn however we did not go out as much in the first 2 months and from then on my little daughter was never happy to be put in the bassinet so we use the chair from then on.

Overall we would recommend this to any urban mums/parents, but just note that the size itself is quite big.. Make sure you check that it fits in your booth (and you may not be able to put other stuffs in it). And you know exactly how to fold and unfold it before purchasing it.

Minimal faults – LOVE my Joolz, and have had very little problems with it over the past 15 months. I was comparing this to the Bugaboo C3 when looking, and chose the Joolz over Bugaboo. I found the Joolz easier to manoeuvre compared to Bugaboo, and I also liked how the seat sat slightly higher than Bugaboo too. Visually a very appealing pram, loved the leather… Read more ·  1

handles and quality of material. The suspension on the pram is fantastic, great for when you want to rock bub to sleep, and also minimises bub feeling lumps and bumps in the road too. It would be handy if sun visor did come down a little further, and if under carriage could be a little bigger, however you do have the option to buy an XL shopping bag too. Overall very happy with pram.
