My 9 year old son started at Jumbo Learning after falling behind in school. Priscilla has worked with him at his own comfortable pace, setting achievable goals and targets for him. Being autistic also causes him to struggle in unfamiliar environments, Priscilla is warm and welcoming and he has enjoyed his sessions. Priscilla is lovely in person and is very responsive in communication. She is also very flexible with scheduling extra tutoring sessions if my daughter has a test/assignment due. I have never walked out of her room feeling stressed about my work or confused. vilified. There is no customer service and I vehemently dispute the concept of 'social work' often cited. It is missing in practice.

I second that you need everything in writing. There are no written policies - it is considered that you are given information verbally (even if you weren't) at the initial meeting. If I had been told there are no refunds for any reason, I would have considered that a red flag. Payments are due far, far before the end of term, or even the beginning of next term - which was my initial issue. I didn't see the need to pay so far in advance. Payment was then demanded at really short notice. I left having paid $500 for half a term in advance, far prior to even the holidays of the term that was ending, and I was told that was considered a 'cancellation fee'. I have never in my life encountered that as a policy, and I am not the only one that has had a similar experience.

I think the responses that we receive from Jumbo are an excellent insight into what you get there. I have never complained about a business online, I have only resorted to that because we were so rudely dismissed, unfairly treated, and not refunded our money fairly.

Just be warned. All other reviews are taken down on every other platform, Facebook reviews are turned off. Google reviews are not at all indicative of actual experiences.

I had actually decided that I wasn't going to try to post my experiences with this business again, because... life is too short to worry about a business that will ultimately pay someone to remove my posts.

I had previously posted reviews of this business (3 attempts) which were deleted by this business hiring a lawyer and having them removed. I have simply attempted to warn customers (as I wish I had been warned) prior to signing up to this business.

If you sign up with this business - get everything in writing, just because you have a verbal agreement doesn't mean anything. I wish I had and maybe I would be able to avoid their attacks.

STAY AWAY, AWFUL EXPERIENCE – I really wish I'd never engaged this business. It was a large payment up front without option, and when the service did not help and support my child, we chose to cancel and continue to provide informal supports at home. Given how likely the owner is to threaten legal action to anybody making claims they cannot prove & the fact that I did not record our conversations, I will keep the issues as general as that.

I will say that my family & 3 other families with very similar very negative experiences have connected over these shared experiences and have been in discussions about what legal action may be taken. It seems incredibly unfair & misleading to have a google review page full of 5 star reviews simply because you are litigious enough to silence the real experiences of individuals and I'm hoping we have better luck being seen and heard on this platform.
