Ok, held back by a few major design issues
Purchased this machine after years of using a traditional semi-auto machine. Its Ok, if not underwhelming. A few serious issues really impact things:
1. The P.E.P process works great and really enhances shots, *but* it is completely disabled when you are making milk drinks. So if you are looking for a punchy Australian style flat white, you are out of luck... the best you can get is a weak cup of coffee flavoured milk.
2. The milk frother is seriously temperamental. I follow the full suggested cleaning regime using the (expensive) Jura cleani...ng liquid, but at least 50% of the time the frother just blows bursts of steam with no milk. Jura support suggested the milk temperature was the issue, but I have it on lowest and it makes no difference. 3. The drip tray is ridiculous, a classic case of form over function. It is this long shallow thing that stretches all the way inside the machine (so it is kept out of sight), but this makes it a crazy balancing act to take the lid off it and empty. You will spill old coffee water on your benchtops every time. On the positive side, the self cleaning really does work well and is fully automatic. No need to swap out cups of water or anything half way through (which I believe is unique to the Z line machines). All up it actually makes pretty decent coffee for an auto machine, but considering the price I was expecting a much smoother day to day experience. And the lack of P.E.P on milk drinks is a major negative.
Crap crap freaking crap
For the love of coffee if you read this do not buy the Jura z6 or any other Jura for that matter, mine didn’t even last 2 years, paying $3,000 I would expect it to last at least 5 years, and I maintained it very well, after packing and unpacking the coffee machine several times for repairs I got it replaced after it died and the next one didn’t even make one good coffee so that was a piece of shit too. Jura is a company that only make coffee machines and they couldn’t even get that right which is a shame, I don’t recommend buying these coffee m...achines no matter what the salesperson says or what any other reviews say because you will be disappointed especially for the damn price you pay for it, I made a mistake, please don’t do the same you will regret it. The swiss don’t know how to make coffee or coffee machines. GO ITALIAN.
Best Coffee Machine I have purchased.
I enjoy my coffee and have in the past purchased many machines predominately Delonghi (five at the last count). The machines never achieved the goal of a cafe espresso machine. I accepted it as a fact of life as I not only couldn’t afford the espresso machine but also had no space. My problem with the Delonghi machines was the breakdowns and the expensive repair. I gave up on the service centre and my son took on the task of repairing them if possible and giving them away to another home.
After the last machine broke down (not an inexpensive m...odel) I looked at the alternatives. I purchased a Jura Z6 and have been blown away by the ease of use and the quality of the coffee. It is equivalent to a Inner City Newtown Cafe! I have never owned a Jura before so I can’t compare, however, the Z6 has PEP technology that maximises the extraction from the coffee beans. Why did I wait so long to buy a Jura. They prove that non commercial machines can make cafe quality drinks! Coffees can be ordered via their phone app and any milk coffee drinks are as great as a cafe. I have removed our electric jug as water for tea is produced faster and at the right temperature.
We have had this coffee machine in our workplace for about a year and a half. From the beginning this machine has exhibited problems. The milk canister does not stay cool enough and countless times we have to throw the milk out because it goes off. The turn dial does not register, sometimes it will even go backwards when its being turned forward. The milk does not froth unless we manipulate it manually while the milk is coming through. The biggest flaw I think is that there is no indication when the water is low. The machine just simply runs out and you are left with half a coffee.
Highly disappointed with this machine!
Purchased in October 2017 for $3,000.00.
What a machine
Just upgraded from our Z5 machine after 9 years of continual use to the Z6. Amazing coffee and so easy to clean. We were so happy with our old machine but the advancement with this was certainly worth the change. Couldn’t be happier
Purchased in February 2019.
Why is my coffee almost cold- it’s on high water temp!? Clean the milk line? I haven’t used it!
I don't understand why my coffee is not hot. I googled it and videos tell me to have a hot kettle of water ready and add a splash. Seriously? .... for $4k I have to make my coffee like instant coffee? I don't think so- absolutely not- that's crazy!. If I don't find a way to make it hot ( is on HIGH), it will be returned for that reason. We do not drink warm coffee here. Comes out warm and within 5 minutes it's a cold drink. Not right. How embarrassing to server cold coffee to guests. Can't do it. :(
Love the machine otherwise, but not worth the...

Had to send it back for repair during warranty. Now I am having to send it back a second time at a cost of $345. Two months out of warranty. This should not happen with a machine that is this expensive and this soon. I gave my old Miele to my son in law that is now 5 years old and it has never had a problem. It was much cheaper.
Very simple to use
We're not very technical minded and wanted a coffee maker that was simple to use and always ready rather than having to set it up for every use. The coffee taste very nice and is slightly hotter temprature than what we expected it to come out with. The only thing we picked on is how short the power cord was

Great Coffee Machine
We were so frustrated doing research on Coffee machine , and we came across Jura Z6 (pronounced Yura) and we do not regret at all, this machine is automatic, does everything for you, also reminds you of cleaning milk section. Very easy to operate, plenty of options, to strength, quantity you change according to your needs
Z9 Part of the family.
My Jura Z9 has been with us now for over one year. Helps me start my day with a Cafe Latte and in the afternoon perks me up for the school run and evening madness with an espresso. I am very fussy with my coffee and I get my beans directly from a Melbourne roaster. Very easy to use and maintain. We would make about 6 coffees a day and more on the weekend when friends come to visit. I do not hesitate recommending this machine. Money well spent.
We have had this unit at least 7 or 8 years now. It has 28,588 cups on the counter and only ever needed repairing once for a leaking solenoid.we don't use the milk jug at all so that has never been an issue. The beauty of these units is the build quality nearly 30 thousand cups and still on the original grinder blades and brewing unit. We live on a farm and only ever use rainwater so I guess that helps. A Z9 would be nice to own but I'm guessing a few more models will come and go before this one dies. Spend the money and buy the best you can afford. Life is too short for bad coffee.
Finally worked up the courage to spend the extra money and replace the De'Longhi after several issues money well spent, got the milk fridge and Harvey Norman through in the cup warmer as well. Just one criticism is that I can't work out how to delete the custom settings I made while adjusting to the way I like it so I have multiple labelled the same there need to be a delete on the custom setting. If I am missing something please let me know
Great machine for coffee.
I did want to get a fully manual machine but my wife wanted a fully auto one so we got it second hand from Cafe Corporate.
I can't complain... it is simple and easy to make great coffee.
The Jura lets you know when it is time to clean and change the water filter, which is easy to do.
JURA Z ..... SO IMPRESSED
The best of coffee machines ever,,purchased from David Jones with a 4 year warranty. So easy to use, cleans itself. I purchased the milk fridge (optional extra) . In the beginning had issues in setting it up the way we want it so now just one press of the button.
Great machine But....
II purchased this machine along with the cup warmers & milk cooler Jan 2018. I have gone into expert mode and adjust the temp of coffee, milk, froth to high, but the coffee is just not hot enough. You would think this would be something Jura recognizes as a problem with most of these machines currently on the market. So why after a week am I dealing with this problem after spending 5K? Come on Jura, this is basic stuff, people like their coffee hot!
Good Coffee Every Time
I've had this machine for over a year now and the coffee tastes great every time (as long as you get good quality beans, of course). The machine is easy to use with the colour screen display and the milk frother works really well too. It can take a little while to clean but if you rinse the machine after each drink you make it makes cleaning easier later.
Perfect each and every time
Jura is just the best coffee machine I have ever owned. It has all the options for a great freshly ground coffee.
It cleans itself and looks great in a minimalistic kitchen.
I have adjusted the grind and amount of water used to brew my best tasting coffee.
Lasts a lifetime
Best Coffee Machine I've Used.
The Jura Impressa Z5 coffee machine is a high quality unit with multiple options yet still very easy to use and durable.
Brisbane is notorious for its' hard water and this normally wreaks havoc with coffee machines. Apart from having built in cleaning cycles to both clean and decalcify the machine (using Jura's products to do so - with the assistance of prompts by the machine), you are also able to use their Claris filter system in the water tank which actually negates the need to decalcify. It also guarantees that you have pure water and fr...esh, great tasting coffee every time. I drink a lot of coffee (approx 10 cups day) so use a cleaning tablet once a week and the quality of coffee is noticeably improved by doing so. On this subject, I'd advise using Jura's tablets as if you check, you'll find the cheaper 'substitutes' have a totally different chemical composition. The machine uses either beans or pre ground though I've found most pre grinds are too fine for the machine - and what's the point of having a professional standard machine if you're not using freshly ground anyway! The grinder burrs are ceramic so are very durable. You can adjust the grind to suit your taste - as well as water temp, brew strength and amount of coffee made per pre-set. All these adjustments are a button press away. The interesting thing I found when I originally switched from stove top machine to automatic pressurized machines is that you actually use a lot less coffee as they're so much more efficient. Even taking into account a weekly cleaning tablet (around $25 for six tablets) and a monthly change (or 250 litres - it uses a bit of water as it cleans itself every time you shut it down) of Claris water filter (around $20 each), you still get cafe quality coffee at a fraction of the cost. You can leave the machine on (it has different energy saving cycles) and even on energy save it'll heat up in 30 seconds and be ready to make coffee. It has a milk frother which I'm told is very effective - I don't drink milk so honestly can't comment - and can make from ristretto to espresso to your taste. It also has dual spouts so 2 cups at a time (of the same product obviously) can be brewed.
Was recently given a good 2 yr old Jura I was having trouble working it out so took it to my nearest service centre in Myree Perth. To say the service was awful would be kind. The attitude was "there simple to use" No we haven't got time to show you how it works! Ring the 1800 number! It's probably obsolete anyway!
Moral of the story... don't buy one if you want any help once they have your money.
Love this machine
Having had a Jura Ena 5, I upgraded to this fully automatic machine and I absolutely love it. It makes great tasting coffee, is super easy to use and no problem at all to clean. It's good build quality and looks good on the bench! Id highly recommend. If only servicing and repairs to these machines wasn't so expensive... that's the one downside.
