I messaged the website as the pop up asked me to do, ordered a xlite10 ($2100), through a man named Michael, went to pick it up in Wetherille Park, the guys there didn't know anything about it, ordered it again online in front of the guy there, he was polite and helpful. The second guy was extremely hostile towards me, as if I had put him out or… Read more

something, they couldn't find the kayak, I was there for over an hour, it was at the bottom of a container, I asked the hostile guy if he might have a tape measure around, he walked past me and actually physically spat at me, and just glared at me. Worst service I have ever had in my life. Do not do business with these incompetent fools. Do not give them Any money. No stars.

Kayak package – Bought my first kayak, from Kayaks2fish. The guy in the shop front was very helpful. Made up a package for me. Got a thicker seat, a life vest, and a trolley. The trolley wasn't in stock so he got it sent to home for reasonable postage. Couldn't wait to try it out. I have and it's all awesome. Thank you Show details ·  1

Alan’s Kayak – Love my nextgen10. Taken it out twice on Lake Macquarie for a paddle and a fish. Very stable and glides through the water with ease. Found it handles the chop really well. I am 61 and was able to sit in the kayak for a couple of hours without any discomfort as the seat is really well designed. Show details ·  2

Boosted my fishing experience – I purchased the Next gen 10 MK 2 fishing kayak from the Thornton shop and absolutely love it! It is incredibly stable, comfortable, and perfect for long trips. With ample storage, excellent tracking, and thoughtful features like built-in rod holders. It has greatly enhanced my fishing experience. Highly recommended for any angler! Show details ·  1

Impressive – I purchased 2 x ospreys about 6 years ago, these kayaks have been badly miss treated, left out in the weather when not in use then bounced off & dragged across rocks & gravel when in use and they have stood up to the punishment extremely well. I have recently purchased a Kronos to add to my collection and very happy with it aswell. I highly recommend kayaks2Fish & their products. Show details

Good product Horrible service – As a petite lady, I did copious research about getting a sit-a-top kayak that fitted my frame. I also needed it to fit in my car as I struggle to get bulky kayaks off roof-racks . I decided a Kayak2Fish Next-gen 7 kayak would suit my needs. However, before purchasing it, I needed to work out if I could carry the kayak and put it in my car… Read more

without assistance.

I contacted kayak2fish multiple times to determine if the kayak was in the Darra store. It was.

Whilst they defined the store as a warehouse they never informed me that the Darra store is not actually a kayak2Fish store but a distribution centre, owned by another company.

When I got there I was informed curtly to wait at the garage door. The man in the garage was very helpful and helped me get the kayak in the car. I could not test if I could carry the kayak as it was wrapped in bubble wrap. I decided that the kayak was suitable for my needs.

I went to the lady to pay and was then informed that I could not purchase the kayak through the store and had to do an online or phone purchase.

I called them and was informed that I could not return the kayak once I got it home and unwrapped it, despite the fact that at that point I had not actually seen the kayak or sat in it. I also asked about the warranty and was told that if the boat failed in the first instance then I could return it after the first journey but not after subsequent journeys. Despite questioning the legality of the warranty, I purchased the kayak.

After my first journey, I noticed water in the cavity and contacted them about their returns policy and how to do a leak test. They informed me that as soon as I put the boat in the water then I could not return it. This was in direct contradiction to the advice I was given before purchasing the kayak. After further testing, I assertained that the kayak did not have a leak but was leaking through the screws to the storage compartment which I knew was not waterproof.

According to Australia consumer legislation, a product must perform its intended purpose. For example, a kayak must be able to kayak and not leak on its first journey. Any Australian company cannot void a warranty after using the product for its intended purpose but Kayak2Fish is doing exactly that

Despite the dreadful service from Kayak2Fish, I am actually really HAPPY with my kayak. It suits my needs perfectly and has empowered me to kayak independently.

I really wanted to offer this product as a solution to other petite women but due to the bad service, I can not.

Great range and friendly staff – I found the warehouse very helpful and accommodating as I arrived the day after the 4day weekend while they were unloading a new shipment. They spent the time letting me look around different kayak models and had one I was able to sit in to confirm I was able to fit it (I'm 180 cm and the raised seating is a tight squeeze, but doable) I ended up… Read more ·  1

purchasing a NextGen 10 Mk2 along with a Lowrance Fish finder (Hook2 x4) and kayak storage hoist. My only criticism are about the Kayak (very minor), with the rudder being very stiff to raise and lower, solved with lubricant, but information to do this would of helped), the sounder transducer recess not being deep enough to fit the mounting + transducer from the fish finder which I was able to solve but reshaping the bracket a little. The "O" ring for the rear hatch was poorly made (large bulge where it was joined) and kept catching the screw cover and broke after being closed a few times. The things I would like different, but was aware of would be I plain center cover as an optional extra as drink holder and rod holder points take up a lot of room that could be used and a non proprietary rod holder mounting that can be used with different mounting systems.

Motor mount issues – Just test rode my next gen 2 with motor mount and the 32lb trolling motor. Everything purchased online from Kayaks2fish. Good looking yak except the design of the motor mount mounting system can not contain the rotational torque of the motor at any speed other than slowest. Issue is the only method of controlling the rotational torque of the motor… Read more ·  1

is a short M6 bolt through the bracket and tapped into the motor bar. At first use the this design could not stop the motor from rotating and the motor was going to shear the bolt. I had to stop using the motor for fear of damage and personal injury. Being an engineer I have corrected the basic design to a point where I believe it is now fit for purpose and safe to use. Standard bar mount comes with 2 flat plates and 5 bolts, 4 that only hold the flat plate over the motor bar and have no control of the motor bar rotating, except for the short bolt that is through that plate and shallow into the motor bar. I have drilled and tapped both sides of the motor bar very precisely to pick up the encapsualted nut moulded into the kayak in the semicircular recess of the kayak where the motor bar sits, M6 x 40 HT bolts now engage the retaining bracket, the motor bar and the kayak. Although I have not trailled this yet the rigidity of the motor bar is incredibly strong compared to the original design. I did give feedback to Kayak2 fish but as of yet have had no reply. Attached are some picturs of the finished product. If you have this issue what I explained will make sense as will the pictures.

Nextgen9 is by far the easiest kayak to use – I purchased and collected the Nextgen9 from the Brisbane office. This is my 3rd kayak over a period of 20 years. It’s easy to lift on/off the 4wd, an area where I struggled with my previous 33kg kayak. I paddled out into the Marchydore River this morning and was back cleaning my catch 3 hours later, with a good feed of bream. Will be doing that again very shortly. Show details ·  1

Next gen 11.5 – Bought my next gen 11.5 pedal kayak a few months ago. Overall, I am happy with the hull quality but the quality of accessories are a bit poor. Check the design of the drink holder etc, and that the paddles are built correctly – I bought a K2F Osprey and an Eagle Pro (2 seater). The quality of both kayaks seems to be good, I've used both in the water and am happy with them both in terms of stability, comfort, tracking in the water and fun. The Eagle Pro suffers from one very poor design fault and that is for each seat there is a space for a fishing rod holder, accessible… Read more

water resistant cargo storage and a drink bottle holder. The front bar of the rear seat goes straight over the middle of the drink bottle holder, rendering the bottle holder completely useless. It is beyond me how such a basic design fault could be allowed through the design and QA process. All three features could have been moved forward slightly to allow use of the drink bottle holder, or they could be placed in the same order as they are on the front seat. Another option would be to redesign the chair so it does not have a bar running the full width of it.

The other issue I have is the paddles. I received three paddles with the two kayaks, and the right blade of each paddle was at the wrong angle for the right hand grip of the paddle, making them very uncomfortable to paddle with. And the angle was not consistent in the three paddles either, which is careless design. I had to drill the rivet out of each paddle and refit the blade so it was at the correct angle to the grip to make them comfortable to use. The other issue with all three paddles was that they are sold as 'floating paddles' but they allowed water in when one was paddling on the right end (and that was just with normal use, not even fully submerging to paddles). I would think after a long session on the water I doubt the paddle would float if it was dropped if too much water gets in it. Both these issues with the paddle were an easy fix for me, but it is frustrating when you buy a product and then have to fix it so it can be properly used.

In saying these things, I would buy from Kayaks 2 Fish again but I would l look more carefully at the design of the kayaks before purchase.
