Common Faul - Louvers brake very easily and parts unavailable – Unit works well except front louvers brake very easily and do not appear to be available - suggest people avoid this brand due to poor product support untill addressed by Kelvinator Show details

Cheap but incredibly tough – My poor Kelvinator has just died after over 6 years bolted to the cabin roof of my boat, cruising up and down the Queensland coast. I suspect the last 45 knot storm did it. It really was not designed to have 4 metre salt water waves crashing over it. I have no idea what the after sales service is like, until today the thing never missed a beat.… Read more

The inside fan I found reasonably quiet, with my bed 8 metres from the unit. One cannot control the fan on Auto, because it is- Duh, Auto. Press the button to manual, and it is as quiet as a mouse. I cannot replace it with the new model as the evaporator unit is now the industry standard 800mm. The only reason I bought the thing originally was the 710mm evaporator was the smallest available and just fitted in my cabin. I now have to fit a cassette which is more than three times the price of the Kelvinator. I just hope it is half as tough and reliable.

No problems – I have had no issues with either of my air conditioners, they're quiet, my 7kw one keeps my entire downstairs very cool and even halfway up the stairs. I would buy another Kelvinator in the future if need be. It works every time, no errors. I'm not sure why the other reviews are bad.  Show details

The warranty after service is terrible! – Absolutely terrible after service offered. Brought a Kelvinator window mount 2.7kw aircond. Stopped working in less than 2 years. Contacted the service centre and waited for 4 weeks for a service man to come out to check the problem (with the weather in the high 30's everyday). Got no satisfaction from any service staff when I contact them on… Read more

numerous occasions. They won't let you speak to a supervisor. Had to wait for 10 days for the part to arrive from SA we are in WA. Then waited & waited to they could book us in to get the part fitted. If you miss the service mans call, you can't call him back (Blocked no).

Took day off work and the service man did not turn up, he arrived on the wrong day - told to bad your fault and re-booked again and had to wait again! Will never buy another Kelvinator or any other product (ie; Plectrolux, etc) that relies on this after service.

Extremely bad warranty service!

Worst Customer Service EVER – Product worked brilliantly at first, then when it stopped heating suddenly (in the middle of winter no less) I called it in as it is still under warranty at less than 2 years old. 3 months, many phone calls, several call outs and several different parts later - it is still not fixed. Electrolux have left my family to freeze through winter (avg… Read more

-2 degrees) and now swelter in an unusally warm spring with no heating or cooling, and claim no responsibility for this. Today is the next installment of a "miracle part" that is supposed to make it work again... we'll see. When it works the unit is quite energy efficient in both heating and cooling modes. It is very noisy, do not install it near a television or radio etc.

Terrible – Definately would not buy it again after hearing the noisy fan operation. Should have spent the extra money on a good air conditioner. Cools very well and quickly. The fan is way to strong and therefore extremely noisy even on the lowest setting. No way to turn it down enough to make the unit quiter.

Terrible – I would never buy this unit again - we are having it removed. The interior fan on the lowest setting is so noisy that tv and stereo can't be heard clearly and telephone conversations are impossible. Kelvinator need to sort this out. Heats and cools well Unbelievably noisy inside

Bad – OK, this one is cheap and does cool well. Looks kinda well made with a glossy casing, the inside unit is huge and the outside unit even bigger. The big problem is the internal noise. The internal unit fan could be heard all over the house and outside , the output noise level is well above the manufacturers specs ( tested with a professional noise… Read more

meter ). In a medium sized lounge it is unbearable, and that was on the lowest fan speed. I lived with it a few days but couldn`t stand it any more so have had it removed. ( Changed to a Fujitsu Inverter which is a dream in comparison ) Probably OK for a large solid games room where noise doesn`t matter but Not for formal areas. Looks nice and sturdy, Big internal unit, really big external one. Low Price, Works ok. Very noisy inside.

Woeful customer service – Bought a split system Kelvinator 3yrs ago with a 5yr warranty. Called Kelvinator when the unit stopped working last week. Their repair man said it was a leak in the installer's join and not a warranty matter. I called an air con repair man who could find no such leak and said it was leaking within the unit. Called Kelvinator back and they said… Read more

they would send their repair man back but if it was not a warranty matter, they would want to charge a fee. Asked to speak to a supervisor. Told not possible. Now in the hands of Consumer Affairs.

Customer service of this company leaves alot to be desired. Would never buy another Kelvinator product or any other brand that relies on their customer service (electrolux etc). Woeful.

Dreadful customer service

OK – Maybe I purchased in desperation of a air conditioner cause it was hot when I purchased it. I purchased it on the 31/1/09 ... and to date there have been no problems (touch wood). My only concern with is with the interior noise level. Had I known about this website and it was cooler at the time ... maybe I might not have purchased it ... at the… Read more

end of the day it cools / heats the house. It was relatively cheap in comparison to others. At the end of the day you get what you pay for .... does the job and cools the house down. The internal noise level .... it becomes white noise after a while ... but its still loud and annoying. I use it in the living room, and i'm glad its not in the bedrooms.

Excellent – This is for the KSV35HRA. This air conditioner is much more quiet than my old samsung it replaced. It's 36c outside now and this aircon is keeping the room at 20c on low fan. Picked it up cheap too! Very happy Cools quickly and on low speed is totally silent. The fan on high speed is a little noisy but I always leave it on mid or low so no big deal.

Bad – The remote is unsuitable for handicapped persons to use. The Electrolux technical department need a shake-up and the product should warn that the remote is not suitable to elderly persons to operate. The air directional blades need redesign as they result in the air hitting you directly in the face instead of into the room. The Cash Back offer… Read more

has yet to be seen after some 6 weeks now! Known brand which used to stand for something! The a/c was purchased for an elderly person, unfortunately the remote is unsuitable because the "on/off" button is located close to the "increase temp" button and in any attempt to turn the unit off you wind the temp.setting up to 30degrees! The fan speed is not able to be controlled in cooling! The air directional baldes ensure the air is directed at 45deg or into your face if wall mounted! The auto 'On/off" time settings are not locked in and disappear at any time! When we asked the Electrolux technical department about these problems they advised us that we should have done our research before buying!! In my view the product designers are the ones who should do the research before releasing this product to the public! The product should have a label which say "THIS PRODUCT IS UNSUITABLE FOR HANDICAP PERSONS"

Bad – If the inside unit was quiter than it would be a good air conditioner. There is very little differnce between low and high fan speeds. I would not buy another unit. It does the job cooling. The outside unit is quite The inside unit is very noisy, You can hear it running where ever you are inside the house. Makes TV hard to hear

Excellent – Looks good and works well.Trusted brand which will save you big $$$ compared to some other big brands. So why pay more!!! Does the job and is a Kelvinator (Electrolux) so can't go wrong. Fan a little noisy inside but who really cares on a hot day.
