Poor service and bad product – The split system worked for 6 years. The warranty is for 5. It took 3 weeks trying to get any information about spare parts = none because out of warranty . Service agent = none for me as no one in Melbourne can travel 50 Km and more than $300 if someone could visit. Customer care is non existent. I will never buy an Electrolux product again. Not value for money if broken after 6 years Show details

Disappointed – Air con faulty after few months. Customer care at Kelvinator was a nightmare when dealing with warranty. Was sent around in circles for 4 months. Store credit was finally given for full replacement. Was promised the installation would be covered and reimbursed to me. Have sent invoice to kelvinator for installation with no response. Every call I made to their customer care, I was told something different. Show details

Good product – I recently found the receipt for this item and found out we have had it for over 10 years with no problems until recently. It had an E6 error code come up on it. With some quick diagnosis from a qualified person it was found the outdoor PCB was faulty. A replacement part was bought from Electrolux spare parts, arrived quickly efficiently and… Read more

got the AC working again in no time.

It is now back to working as well as it did when it was installed 10 years ago.

We also have 2 other Kelvinator units (3.5kw and an 8kw) installed over the years and they have been great.

Just wanted to put out a good review to show they aren't all bad I don't particularly care about brands but these have been good for us over the years and very reasonably priced.

Excellent units, all of them – I've bought 3 of these units for our NQ home last November, and since bought another unit with Wi-Fi for my Brisbane unit. All installed by professionals. Fantastic, all of them, and they look and work beautifully. I now plan to purchase a 9Kw unit to replace a 7-8 year old Mitsubishi that gekkos and frogs have killed. Show details

Decent, not great – Generally does a good job. Has a few minor issues, but not a big deal. * Filters need cleaning about once a month, whereas manual suggests every 3 months * Struggles to heat the house in cold winter mornings, but gets on top of it after the morning frost * Temperature varies a lot, and we're always having to change the temperature setting to get comfortable * Makes the usual cracking noises when the plastic changes temperature Show details

fobbed us off it took over two months to gst an engineer to come and the unit completely degassed and none of the engineers could work out why. They wanted us to pay to regas, eventually it was regassed and then the company who kalvinator used asked us to pay because kalvinator had not paid them, now not even a year later same problem and the daughters is doing the same. The warranty not worth the paper its written on cheap piece of crap stay away from them.

A great value purchase – It's quiet, fast and has all the important functions without bells and whistles. Love the digital temperature display. Only had it in for two days but it's great. We don't need heating so cooling only is ideal. There is a discrepancy between the noise level on the outside unit as shown online (5.6db) VS printed on the unit itself (5.9db). Either way, it's not loud.  Show details

Very powerful, excellent continuous cooling! – This unit really works well on hot days; it cools very well! But, but, but it never seems to go off like a normal invertor type cooling unit where they to stop cooling at the set temperature. Hasn't worked consistently since the day it was purchased – Biggest piece of junk. Worked for perhaps 1 month then stopped working. Called installer who said to reset it, did this for years until it now doesn't work at all. ok, but has some problems – We've had many Kelvinators over the years and they've generally lasted around 6 years. Problem is: they don't open completely (front flip panel) so proper cleaning is really difficult. I guess you get what you pay for really but I've moved onto Fujitsu now which I'm happy with. They're only a bit more and I'd rather spend a little more for a better product  Show details

Made in China Cheap Kelvinator Krap – Had this for around 18 months now and I bought it to replace my Old 2nd hand Westinghouse window unit which I had for ten years and it was still working when I took it out. it revving for just the inside fan to come on and start blowing luke warm air. The Louvre creaks and squeaks as it moves up and down and after about 20 mins is blowing hot air in our faces. It then doesn't know when enough is enough even it is only set at about 20C it will crank the room to about 30 sometimes and I wake up in a sweat. AND GET THIS on a cold cycle this Louvre only comes half as far down so it doesn't blow cold air on us in summer. The cold air takes at least 10 minutes to cool us down as well and then starts to smell like cats urine when it has been on for an hour or so. Pretty Pass Poor for a 3.5KW in a small bedroom I must say. Honestly deeply regret spending close to a grand on this and 600 for and install. Will look at a Japanese model next time

Mind of its own – would recommend another brand. set to 25-26c and its way to cold, set it to auto fan and seems to take it's time registering what the room temp is, and continues to blow high for ages. today was blowing warm air for a bit, enough to warm the house and make me come have a look whats going on. then decided to go back to cold after ten minutes. I only had it installed about 3 weeks ago

Does not deliver as expected – We installed this one from good guys in January 2015. It never switches off even if you are freezing and you have it set for 25 degrees. machine and to set it for 7 degrees different to what I really want as there's nothing wrong with the thermostat it just doesn't check very often what the room temp is. So yesterday was a hot day and I told it to cool to 25 degrees however the result was still unbearably cold. Today is meant to be hotter weather I will try set at 30 degrees and see what happens... I Would Never Buy Kelvinator Again!!!

No complaints so far – Have had my unit 3 years, to date very pleased with performance, on quiet cycle I can hardly hear it, I bought it mainly for cooling in summer, but have found the heating cycle very efficient for a large area, we use it a lot now. We also have 3 3.5kw units for a similar time, we mostly only use them in summer, so far no complaints, quiet and efficient.

grow a brain people – apart from the leaking unit issue, which i have had once or twice most of the issues raised here are not really issues if you download and read the manual you will all understand how to resolve your issies with this unit danielle.m.kneller, you have the xfan function activated which runs the unit for 10 mins after you turn it off yo completely… Read more

dry it out inside (this is for humid climates)

to the guy complaining that the repairman didnt replace any parts to fix his leak, he doesnt need to, he only insulates the pipe that is condensating.

to all the people that think the auto function with let them set the temp and forget, this is not how this unit works, you need to select heating or cooling and then activate the iFeel function

at the end of the day you get what you pay for, its one of the cheapest units for its size

im not a kelvinator rep, in fact by choice i would never buy this brand but my unit was already installed in the house i just bought

i experienced similar issues to all of you and resolved them myself by reading the user manual which i googled and downloaded myself

a realistic review of the product

its cheap, and that good for you wallet but not good for longevity of the machine

its not the most economic unit, especially if you dont have the i-feel function on

its not the quietest machine on the market

it leaks internally and drips down my wall on really humid days (but so does my $7000 panasonic commercial unit at my shop, thats a factor that comes down to 2 things, insufficient insulation of the pipes and extreme humidity)

and lastly i refer to my first point - its cheap compared to other brands of the same size

power once the temperature has been reached. Am very happy with it anyway and it cools most of my house.

I also have a KSV35HRC and it is fantastic. It is very quiet after the temperature is reached and I don't even realise it is still on. Have left it on by accident in the past.

A little note on both systems. They both have a specific time on or off timer. It would be handy to have a quick set off timer, so you could press a button and select off in 30 minutes, then press again for 1 hr etc etc. This would be handy for when you wake during the night and want to have it go off in a while instead of having to wake fully, see the time and set the specific off time.

Doesn't do what an aircon should! – Auto mode doesn't keep the room to a certain temperature which you would think auto would. It either heats up the room 5 degrees more than you want or cools it down 5 degrees. The cold mode is so bad. It continues to cool the room down even after it gets to the temperature set. I didn't realise and it on on a hot night for my 2 year old. I had it set to 24 degrees, when I went out in the morning it was 12 degrees! I hate this aircon!

I wanted to stay away from the very cheap Chinese makes which would have doubtful performance and after sales service.

I have to say it heats up the room quite well, It takes a while (3-5 minutes) for the unit to start blowing hot air. I guess the compressor outside is working to build up enough heat. cheap, quite, effieient. takes 3-5 mons to start blowing hot air when started.

not work well. I never got anywhere with it. I was hoping that it would allow you to set a temperature and that the unit would heat or cool as required - not so!

I called the support center, the staff there were ignorant and at best could just read passages out of the manual and then they got confused too. They offered to to send a technician out - for about $260.00 - which I would be liable for if it was not covered by warranty. No thanks!
