Kelvinator KSV35HRC (3.5kW)

A great value purchase – It's quiet, fast and has all the important functions without bells and whistles. Love the digital temperature display. Only had it in for two days but it's great. We don't need heating so cooling only is ideal. There is a discrepancy between the noise level on the outside unit as shown online (5.6db) VS printed on the unit itself (5.9db). Either way, it's not loud. Show details
Excellent units, all of them – I've bought 3 of these units for our NQ home last November, and since bought another unit with Wi-Fi for my Brisbane unit. All installed by professionals. Fantastic, all of them, and they look and work beautifully. I now plan to purchase a 9Kw unit to replace a 7-8 year old Mitsubishi that gekkos and frogs have killed. Show details
Great unit. So far looks good and performs as expected – Nothing much to add. I had an issue with it but has been proven to be an installation issue and not a machine fault. All comments related to my previous issue are not longer relevant Show details · 3
i made the right choice! – first time Ive owned a split system air conditioner. I'm very happy with it, runs quiet, looks great. heats and cools well. installation only took just over one hour.user friendly unit.easy to understand remote control. has a 4 star rating on the power consumption, on heating and cooling. thanks Kelvinator! Bad customer service! – I have installed 4 of these units for a customer. They have similar issues to those mentioned in the other posts, don't cool when set on 24 degrees. They will only work on 18 degrees. Call kelvinator for assistance but they will only use their own techs. I will not install their products again! Show details
Made in China Cheap Kelvinator Krap – Had this for around 18 months now and I bought it to replace my Old 2nd hand Westinghouse window unit which I had for ten years and it was still working when I took it out. Listening to the outside unit right now rumble the brick wall. Sounds like someone revving a car outside my driveway. This AC is in my bedroom btw. Takes at least 5 minutes of… Read more
it revving for just the inside fan to come on and start blowing luke warm air. The Louvre creaks and squeaks as it moves up and down and after about 20 mins is blowing hot air in our faces. It then doesn't know when enough is enough even it is only set at about 20C it will crank the room to about 30 sometimes and I wake up in a sweat. AND GET THIS on a cold cycle this Louvre only comes half as far down so it doesn't blow cold air on us in summer. The cold air takes at least 10 minutes to cool us down as well and then starts to smell like cats urine when it has been on for an hour or so. Pretty Pass Poor for a 3.5KW in a small bedroom I must say. Honestly deeply regret spending close to a grand on this and 600 for and install. Will look at a Japanese model next time
I gave up on this product – I would just like to add to everybody's disappointment in Kelvinator. My split unit worked very well for the first year but then it just started to play up, not cold, noisy outdoor unit. unfortunately for me i live in a 2 story house and the outdoor unit is apparently too high for the technician to reach because it was a hot day and he didn't want… Read more
a ball of it. so he went away and never returned even after i booked in a cherry picker.
I gave up on it, i purchased a replacement from a reliable Japanese brand. The technician came and affirmed that kelvinators are junk and very cheaply made and he has been removing many to replace with something else more reliable. He assessed the height and let me know it wasn't too high and said kelvinator technicians are just lazy.
Terrible Leaking down wall – Unit leaks internally down bedroom wall during high humidity. Destroyed paint on wall. Unit rattles after being on for more than 3 hrs. Can't use it anymore after having it for only 15 months. Very disappointing.

KSV35HRC - okay for the price – I was looking for a reverse cycle aircon mainly for heating purpose. My kitchen and family room gets quite cold in the morning around 12-13 degrees when outside is 4-5 degrees. Overall this unit does the job and slilent enough compared to my old LG split unit. I cant compare against the Daikins and Fujitsu. this was cheaper than those top of the… Read more
line and was recommended by the installer because this can be powered just by inside unit. i.e no hard wiring required.
I wanted to stay away from the very cheap Chinese makes which would have doubtful performance and after sales service.
Kelvinator were also running a cash back which worked in favor of this.
I have to say it heats up the room quite well, It takes a while (3-5 minutes) for the unit to start blowing hot air. I guess the compressor outside is working to build up enough heat. cheap, quite, effieient. takes 3-5 mons to start blowing hot air when started.
