got them from or where they went!) required replacing which would take about 6 weeks. He then wrote out the invoice for $220 (which I had agreed to on the phone) added 10% GST (which was supposed to be included in the $220 as per phone call) and then added 4.4% credit card fee as we were paying by card. Note: [Name Removed] asked to be paid in cash. (Total $251.58) Some days later we received a quote by email for repairs totalling $3740 which was far more than the air conditioner and installation originally cost. We then called another company - they came out and fixed the problem immediately - the remote and the aircon were not talking to each other and had to be reconfigured which took about 5 minutes. Still awaiting a reply to my email as to how they arrived at the repair cost of $3740. There were four different companies involved with this scam transaction - KM Heating and Cooling (invoice); Heating and Cooling Plumbers (quote); Kleanmaster Pty Ltd (credit card)and Fresh Air Heating and Cooling Enterprises (credit card statement)

promoted the order to the Magistrate’s Court who then gave us a court order for the Sheriff’s Office of Victoria to seize property to cover our refund and extra accumulated costs. This whole process is not for the faint-hearted, and I can understand why most people would not have the spare time to devote to the full complicated legal process to obtain a refund, thereby letting the pay-up-front scam continue. Earlier this year I was contacted by a fellow victim who almost lost about $1000 but was saved when his bank managed to reverse the payment, so this is evidence that the KM scam is still active. I would love to see the KM and Airvolution companies shut down, but it would probably require concentrated and expensive legal action. I can only hope that this page contributes in some way to help people avoid the KM scam.

DO NOT USE - WOULD NOT RECOMMEND – Unqualified trades people, DO NOT USE. They are not local to you!!! Scammers. I was told a part of my heating unit was faulty, I paid hundreds of dollars more that the part costs to have it replaced without my heating unit issue fixed. I’ve since had a qualified plumber come out to look at their work and who confirmed the part wasn’t actually even replaced.

Waist of time and money – Our floor heating was not working in part of our house, so We had a plumber come out from KM Heating and Cooling Plumbers (Troy?) and he spent perhaps 20 mins onsite. 10 mins he spent preparing a quote. inspect the valve and said that three were ceased. • His feedback was for us to replace the entire manifold, $5416 + GST

When I showed him the back two bedrooms with skirting heating, he said quote “you should know” if its connected to the same boiler and stated that he ran out of time to thoroughly check the two rooms. So we paid the $313.50 for a twenty minute assessment that day and Troy was off.

Then when I had time on the weekend, I thoroughly assessed the valve and I (not being a plumber) UN-ceased the valve and flushed our floor heating system myself.

These guys are a total scam, because when I approached them afterwards, they hung up on me and have not answered one email.

reply to phone calls and text messages and in the end stopped replying altogether. Everything points to him being happy to take the $242 call-out charge and not complete the work. When I contacted "head office" I spoke to someone externally employed in a call centre who said that she could not help.

This is the worst experience we have had with any home repair company.

I suspect their guy wrecked our evaporative cooler – It had never gone wrong in 12 years, then we got it serviced, and after 3 or 4 usages, it stopped working. No fan...I peeked under lid, and water was jetting out the bottom straight down the roof - no hose on it. No water circulating. Perhaps fan burnt-out due to no water? I called Brivis. Original engineer at least called me back, and when I described problem said 'eh...something might be wrong, I can have a look'. No thank you!

Terrible – The guy comes late, gets on the roof, there for less than 5 min, comes down says I haven't got the part, now write down your credit card details. I said no, give me an invoice, so he eventually did, $250 to NOT fix anything and said I needed to spend $1500 for repairs. Scum scum scum – Had their guy com out with in 10 minutes of being there meaning the time he had arrived he told me motor was cooked. I asked how did he know this because he done it for 15 years. He wanted 2700 to fix it. Had a great guy check it $300 to fix. Don’t trust this company

Unprofessional and crook company to loot people money – This company should be blacklisted. They make a false promise and get money from people without even touching the equipment. The plumber Jay came to my place and told me I will be able to repair your heating just replace it and pay me to show up fee 260 AUD. I made a mistake by not reviewing their services. He made NO contact for 24 hours. Contact was via email confirming that the part was available and sending a quote for an excessive cost considering the job. We were required to pay 50% of the quote and then he would order the part! Sorry I didn't see the reviews first! Find another provider!

He went to the back and said which machine is for the lounge area and we told him to switch the remote control on and you will know!

He told my wife to walk away from him while he working, he doesn’t like to work when someone is standing around, than she said she wants to stay around, he told her that she is rude all people in Diamond Creek and Greensborough are rude, he will quit this job because of them. He packed his stools and left.

He looked under the influence of substance.

We called the company to make a complaint, the person who picked the phone said they are a receptionist and will take the complaint.

Seems like a business that outsource trades men without any quality checks.

Very dodgy and all the review they have on the website looks like fabricated

Dodgy operators – We engaged this company to inspect our central heating unit today and found their work to be of extremely poor quality. We were over charged and were given incorrect advice and unprofessional service. We got a second quote and found out what they told us was inaccurate and were going to charge us for work which didn't need to be done. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!

Beware – Called and scheduled service for my heater. Time and cost for the service confirmed, technician arrived on time. I was shown the part. No issue. It had to be done. He did a temporary fix to last until the part was changed. Then asked nearly double the quote that was given to me verbally and in the text message. The technician said it is the GST, and I questioned that since what he was asking was way above the applicable. GST. I mentioned that normally quoted price includes GST. When he threatened that if I don’t pay the GST he will charge the extra amount which was well above double the amount quoted for the service because he put silicone on the part. I received the quote for the spare part several days later at an extraordinary price of $800 I tried to contact the company that is when I realised that the phone number is for the call centre and it is impossible to speak to anyone. I don’t even know who owns the company or how it is run. The receipt has no company name, no phone number etc. etc. just a piece of paper saying “receipt”

The revealing part is that when I called someone else I was told the part was put back the wrong way, no danger of explosion and the cost of the part will be nothing, as he has spare pieces.

This could have been a very costly experience. I am writing this in the hope that other people don’t fall into a very costly trap.

Get a Second Quote and Don't accept that you will be looked after – Service Tech was very good, pricing was deceptive and outrageously expensive. A $20 thermocouple was sold as a $150 spare part. After the visit the heater had to be disabled due to the CO2 reading being too high. Don't forget they add GST onto everything. Quote for replacement was $7,099, second quote $3,500 for same brand. Do five minutes of research to save thousands.

what he was doing and I was pleased when he left as I was concerned he would do damage to the system e.g. by using a lot of force to undo old copper pipe connections (to release pressure in the system when there was a simple pressure release valve that he failed to notice!). The end result was a recommendation for a very expensive, and probably useless for my problem, power flush of the system, an incorrectly adjusted system pressure and no fix for my leak.

wanted to refund the labor only! Had to go through VCAT to get my money back and after massive effort and dead weight silence on their end I finally got my money back plus all VCAT and sheriff fees resulting in over $1000. Poor quality technician, terrible customer service when calling the phone number and basicly impossible to talk to anyone actually in charge of the company. Was like dealing with a phantom!
