topper by Koala to try and make it more comfortable, but they sent me a thin piece of foam that just made the bed really hot as it retained a lot of heat. I bought a OneBed topper around 2 months ago but even that isn’t helping anymore. I’ve tried to contact support, but they refuse to do anything unless there is physical damage (There is none that I can tell). Really disappointed to think that I may have to go out and buy another mattress as my previous innerspring mattress lasted almost 10 years.

Five years later, we need to replace it – It was great initially but hasn’t lasted as long as we’d hoped. It’s saggy around my hips even though we rotate the mattress regularly. I don’t see many reviews of the mattress this old so thought it might be useful to others. Maybe the technology has changed in this period? sleeping smack bang in the middle of the bed, squishing my husband to the side as it is the only spot I can feel any support. I imagine it won't be too long and that spot will also be unsleepable! As much as these seem a good idea at first, I would suggest finding an alternative mattress!

Very hard mattress will cause sore shoulders. Not for side sleeper – Bought the king mattress in October 2021 for $1200 after seeing amazing reviews. would be an understatement. The loops we had to jump through to prove our mattress was faulty were ridiculous after-which Koala decided that the photos provided did not show significant enough of a fault to assist us further.

After months of back-and-forth with Koala to no avail, in June of 2020 I posted a review on Product Reviews about the poor quality of the product and the service I had received. Almost immediately after I posted that review, Koala reached out to me and offered to replace the mattress. They assured me that the issues I was facing were isolated and that we would not have the same issues with the replacement.

Well here we are just under two years since receiving the replacement mattress and we are facing the same discomfort. The mattress is lumpy and sagging in parts (despite rotating the mattress monthly) which makes it a nightmare to sleep on. Both my partner and I wake up with back pain and headaches daily. I don’t remember the last time I had a decent night off sleep.

I honestly would never again go down the route of buying a bed in a box. Aside from the fact that the product is of poor quality, the customer service is less than ideal being an online retailer.

Moral of the story is don’t buy into the marketing hype of beds in a box being “cheaper and better” than your conventional mattress. I would much rather have payed double or even triple the price for a regular mattress to avoid the issues we have faced and will do so in future.

Doesn't last – Initially it was great but after a year or so we felt it necessary to add a mattress topper. Now, under 2 years from purchase, the mattress is saggy and painful to sleep on with a large hump in the middle. For months hubby and I have been waking with headaches and sore backs every day. Dont buy it - it won’t last long – Hot, saggy , bad investment. Bought over two years ago and at the start was alright but after 6 months starts sinking and feels hot, woke up many nights all sweaty . I won’t recommend this mattress to anybody. of 5ge bed. I co sleep with my 2 babies and it's just gotten to the point where it's unbearable I've actually borrowed a mattress from a friend until I can afford another. I've gotten in touch with customer service 2 weeks ago. They did reply with a request of the tag photo which I sent back a week ago. Nothing since and a follow up email asking for a reply and nothing so I've gone ahead and borrowed a mattress. Very disappointing. It's the first time I've ever spent over 1000 on a mattress and it's lasted only 3 years.

Unimaginable back pain :( – I’ve had my king sized mattress for almost 2 years and it began as a very comfortable buy! I’m a full time nurse and need good sleep but lately have been robbed of that. Very sad to see this mattress go after only two years.

Great mattress for the first year, saggy and causing back problems after that – We bought the king mattress nearly 4 years ago. Since you can't flip the mattress upside down, the saggy middle won't go away and is on both sides. We've contacted Koala Customer Service, but are still waiting for a response after a week. We'll have to throw this mattress out unfortunately, and are are really worried about the environmental impact of all the mattresses that have been purchased from Koala having such a short lifespan. I hope they have changed the design and improved the quality - even just having memory foam on both sides to flip it would probably make a difference. It seems that all the good reviews are from within the first few months. Very disappointed in the quality - a mattress should last 10 years.

Comfortable mattress, good customer service but issue after 18 months – We had the Koala mattress and bed frame for around 18 months however, when we went to rotate it there was black mould growing between the base of the bed and the mattress. We reached out to Koala and we initially didn't hear back however, they were then able to rectify the issue quickly. Happy with the outcome. Show details

Great customer service – Comfortable but not soft enough. Mattress has been supportive and I’ve not found any back/neck pain due to it. Quality of sleep has been better than normal. Mattress is definitely durable. While the mattress didn’t suit my needs (not soft enough) the customer service team have been very helpful with all my enquiries and sent me a mattress topper. 4 years on - Sinking Mattress – Initially the mattress was great. However after 12-18 months my wife and I notice the matress was forming indents on where we sleep. the need to write one here as I was persuaded by all the good reviews. So a word of caution when buying this mattress, from our experience they sink... It's not a terrible nights sleep, but its clearly not ideal. We will need to buy another mattress in the near future and it wont be a Koala.

Toxic smell still there after one week of off gassing – The smell of the mattress when we unpacked it was so toxic and gave us both minor headaches and we’re not people particularly sensitive to smells. Perfect!!! Can’t sleep without it! – We are currently between two houses & two consecutive nights in the new house with our old custom made mattress and I immediately purchased our second koala mattress & frame. started to sag after 4 months. I’m only 60kg so it’s ridiculous to think I’m sleeping in what feels like a huge hole. I’m waking every morning with terrible neck and shoulder pain so much so that’s it’s causing frequent migraines and a lot of money at the osteo. I’m hardly sleeping and that coupled with a newborn it’s not a great time. My husband is sleeping on the couch as he is getting also very sore from the mattress.

I don’t want a replacement mattress as it seems from previous reviews the same thing happened without a few months again. I just want a refund. I saved so long for this mattress for it to not even last a year. Our last mattress was 10 years.

again offered to replace it but instead I opted for a refund. Terribly sad that the koala couldn’t make our dreams come true. It was comfortable to sleep on till the soft sagging started. And I loved the finish on the top of the mattress. I love not having to have a mattress protector on the bed as a bit of a Princess and the Pea kind of person. I also found the mattress very hot and thought that It did retain body heat from where you’re directly lying on it. I cannot fault koala’s customer service I have always been easy to contact to talk to and we are happy to help whenever I had a problem.
