Six weeks and still waiting for a replacement of my dodgy monitor which is still under warranty – It has been six weeks since my Kodak C525 stopped working. The Parent Unit won’t charge properly and no longer holds and connection to the two cameras. I have sent so many emails. Only after a review on here did I get a reply which said they would organise a replacement and to let them know if I didn’t have an update in a week. It’s now been two… Read more

weeks now since then. No update and no reply to my daily emails asking for one. The ‘customer service’ is a joke. Avoid Kodak!!

Oricom customer service 5 stars – I have a c525 monitor that was working fine, but parent unit stopped working, originally it took some time to contact Kodak due to a system outage, once I left a review they quickly got in touch. I was then passed onto Orciom and spoke to Daniel who was nothing but helpful, and understanding, he arranged for a replacement camera to be sent out under my warranty, next time go straight to Oricom for a quicker response. Show details ·  1

Love everything but the battery life – Love the camera. Great picture quality and a variety of features. Range and coverage is good! Audio is good also. I’ve had it for just over a year and my parent unit is no longer working. I’ve been in touch with the Kodak team who talked me through a full reset which work initially for a few hrs. Now I leave it on charge for days and turn it on… Read more

Parent unit is broken, and Kodak can’t even sell us a new one – Parent unit antenna is broken and we’re asking Kodak to sell us a new one, but unfortunately they can’t give us a replacement or even a recertified unit. This means that their support system is so poor, I regret recommending this product to 2 of our friends, we have now two caners connected and we can’t use the system. Show details

Camera and parent unit were great until the parent unit stopped working – I’ve had my Kodak cherish for 2 years and never had any issues. I like having a parent unit and an app. Since baby no. 2 is coming along I decided to purchase a new camera so I could see both kids on the parent unit. However the parent unit has stopped working, sporadically and won’t recharge. I’ve reached out to Kodak support multiple times and… Read more

they either don’t reply or I get a generic reply advising how to do a factory reset - which I cannot do since it wont charge or sporadically turns on. I want to get a new parent unit so I don’t have to buy new monitors, however I never get a reply from Kodak. Their service is quite disappointing. I won’t be buying from them again

AVOID! Worst customer service and faulty products! – This baby monitor was ok when I first got it. Set up was okay not great. After a few months the parent unit stopped working. I contacted customer service which isn’t the easiest and they ended up replacing both the camera and parent unit. One year one I started having issues again. The customer service is terrible. It takes weeks to get an… Read more

issues solved. This time they only replaced the camera and wouldn’t replace the parent unit. Received the camera and still having issues with the parent unit not working and not getting connection in my bedroom which is right next door to the baby room. Also the micro usb charging connection on the parent unit broke and the parent unit won’t charge. They kept wanting videos of everything not working and wouldn’t actually just replace the faulty unit. They kept avoiding the issue and trying to offer solutions which just weren’t working. They only reply to one email a night which makes it a really long process. When you use this for a baby/child every night you need a quicker resolution. Unfortunately I can’t afford to go out and buy a new baby monitor. I need one that works and does what it says. The background Audio on the app isn’t working and I can’t hear my baby cry through the night. I feel like a horrible mum. I feel stressed out. This baby monitor is expensive. Wish I spent $350 on a different monitor as this is not worth it. Avoid this company and product!!!

Greta when it works. Slow customer support – Great when it works but unfortunately I have been having issues with one of my cameras and parent unit and the custom support is very very slow. Trying to resolve the issue is taking some time as you can only email, they only reply one email a night and their working hours are Australia's night/early hours of the morning. issues: - newly… Read more

purchased additional camera not connecting. Have been offered a replacement. - Parent unit not charging. The unit is 3 years old. waiting for a resolution from customer support.

issues and support aside, the cameras themselves are very clear compared to others I have seen. I have the larger screen parent unit (currently not working) and its a great size to split screen for the two babies/cameras. it is definitely preferable over the app. Very easy to use with some good functions. I particularly like the colour lights on top of the unit for noise in case we have the sound off when watching a movies etc. App is great with one camera/baby and could use some minor improvements with two or more cameras/babies particularly if you are using the app as the primary parent unit which we need to do at the moment.

Overall I really do like this system, just wish customer support was a bit quicker/was able to be contacted via phone call.

Worst customer service – When we first used the monitor it was great. The picture is good quality, so no complaints there. It's quite a noisy monitor, makes this clicking sound all the time, which often disturbs bub if they're not in a deep sleep and it has a blue flashing light which is also quite disruptive. My big issue is that after a while the monitor stopped… Read more

connecting to both the screen and the app, so effectively the whole thing is useless as I can't see my baby. I've contacted the customer support team and it took over a month to get anything resolved. There is no phone contact, so it's all done via email and it takes at least 24 hours for a response to each message, which makes the whole process very lengthy. They repeatedly ask for a log to be sent, yet despite following their instructions this does not work, yet they insist on asking for more logs. The whole thing is frustrating when you pay a premium for such a product, and we've been left us without a usable monitor for weeks.

In the end they passed us onto Oricom who must be the ones who produce the product, and their customer service was outstanding. They replaced the unit for us immediately. Do yourself a favour and just buy an Oricom branded one so that you dont have to waste time with the kodak customer service.

Rubbish Connection – Bought this as we wanted a camera to monitor our baby as we transitioned her into her cot at 6months. We have had nothing but issues with the parent unit connectivity. and a number of other options, nothing works. Kodak customer service have also been useless, I've sent countless email and device logs, asked for a refund, yet I get the occasional response saying sorry try resetting the product. Not sure why resetting for the 100000th time will make a difference. Don't buy this product! Don't waste your time dealing with their customers service as it isn't a service.

Ok when it works – We have never had a monitor for our first baby, but I wanted to get one for the second for peace of mind. So far this has been a terrible purchase. Parental unit is in the kitchen, one camera is about 7 meters away and the other barely 5. I have tried moving the parental unit to our bedroom and still not had any luck. When it does connect I can see both rooms effectively and would be pretty happy with the picture if it lasted more than 2 hours. Also one camera has terrible night vision and the other is better so I’m not sure what is wrong with that. I will be looking in to returning the whole thing. UPDATE: I have been in communication with Kodak Support to try and resolve the issues. Support was via email and very slow and has now stopped on their end. Nothing has worked other than both cameras and parental unit all being within 2 meters of each other and our wifi router and at this stage I have a $400+ monitor sitting idle and not monitoring my kids. Stupidly I threw out the boxes when I received it, so I cannot return it. I would definitely never recommend buying this item.

I would not recommend this monitor – This monitor seems to have everything g you want and need; although, it is certainly does not meet the same standards as other brands when it comes to the features that sell this product. - The app drained battery within 3 hours of downloading it and do not use wifi feature since day 2 of owning the monitor. - Limited camera panning. It basically… Read more

does 200 degrees and only pans in one line. You need to position the camera above the cot for ideal viewing. This made me very nervous about it falling on my baby. - very Hard to position full baby viewing. - the room temperature has disappeared from being displayed, it was u til 2 days ago. - the batteries on both the camera and the monitor run out VERY quickly about 12 hours. I have them both plugged in.

Positives - great night viewing - great day time viewing - good size monitor - the small light on the camera does not seem to worry my baby!

Love MOST of it, but the talk button wakes my child if accidentally pushed!! – I love almost everything about this monitor, HOWEVER, my son was finally having a good nap the other day and I accidentally hit the speaking button when I picked up the parent unit - this created a super loud walkie talkie sound in my sons rooms startling him and ending his nap. Fantastic camera – Very clear picture both during the day and at night. Also pretty good sound. Small issues would be is it doesn’t come with stand so unless going to fix into wall you need to get one separately. navigate once you get the hang of it, and the sound quality is not bad either. The negatives for me were only one camera's sound in split screen, I'd love if this rotated between cameras. Also I find the pan and tilt has a lag between pushing the button and the camera moving. The only other negative is the time it takes to connect to each camera when flicking between the two.

Great overall camera, would highly recommend for a camera that shows every detail with excellent clarity.

Perfect camera IF you don't want to know without watching bub or hearing bub how much noise they are making – Positives Brilliant camera, best picture I've ever seen on a monitor. Buttons are all clear and easy to use, no accidentally turning on lullaby's in bubs room. Love that the wifi is an option, you have a choice to use it or not. That is brilliant! Negatives Sound is rather bad and tinny, even with VOX settings all the way up so you don't hear… Read more

the white noise in the room. Makes it quite unbearable to have left on actually. Almost sounds static-y with bub not making any noise. Exceptionally painful. The light bar at the top is utterly useless, it shows if the camera is working or connected to various things, does not indicate sound in the room! Fairly sure all of those lights are useless, you'd know easily if something wasn't working without it. A small icon on the screen would suffice for most of them if really needed. This also means the light bar is always on and lit up. This light bar issue is the deal breaker for me. I need to be able to look at the monitor without having the screen or sound on to know if bub is chatting, crying or screaming. Just about every other basic camera on the market does this. (think Oricom as an example) which is surprising seeing as they share warranty and tech support with Oricom. I would have thought with such a smart, brilliant monitor, this would be either an easy fix, or something that would have been sorted from the start. So very disappointed, I really really love the camera's picture.

If its picture only you want, you aren't fussed about sound or knowing whats happening in the room without watching the screen/having the sound on, then this is a great camera.

One of the best baby monitors on the market! – We've got two girls, a 3-year-old and a 6-month-old, with our first girl we had another brand of monitor and found it didn't meet our needs due to low video quality, signal interference and lack of battery in the camera. After looking at what's available, we decided to try the Kodak Cherish C525. Three months later, we are so happy with it!! Here… Read more ·  1

are the main things we like...

Video & Audio Quality The camera and screen are 720p, so images are clear and can easily see baby's chest moving up and down. Night vision mode is exceptional, with a clear image even in a dark room. Pan, tilt and zoom features are great with a baby that moves around in the cot. Audio is clear and we can always hear sounds, however, have found there is a lag of close to a second with the audio and video signal...no big issue and just about all cameras will have a slight lag like this. The ability to speak to baby from the monitor is handy if they disturb and start crying.

Batteries We not only use this at home and travelling but also go camping on a regular basis. The fact that both the camera and monitor screen are battery-powered is perfect for us - we can have the camera on in the tent and keep an eye on the kids while we relax by the fire or at our camp table. We've even found that the battery life is greater than stated. Plus they are powered via micro USB so a phone power pack will keep them going for ages if needed.

Signal So far the signal has been excellent. We are in a single-story house, but I am able to have the monitor in my office and clearly see baby across the other side of the house and through three walls using the device's WiFi and when connected to our home network it is only limited to our WiFi signal.

Other Stuff We've set up the Kodak smart home app and used it a few times, but to be honest we use the monitor screen 95% of the time. Our second baby doesn't like normal lullabies, instead preferring guitar or classical music lullabies, so we haven't really used the built-in ones - however, they do sound nice and would've been perfect for our first baby who loved white noise. Haven't used the SD recording feature yet so can't comment on that. Temperature and humidity monitoring seem accurate based on other room thermometers (AC remotes and handheld thermometer).

What Could Be Improved Not much really! We love the unit and it's made keeping an eye on our second baby so much easier. The biggest thing is the sound it makes switching between daylight and night mode when opening the door to her room if it's dark - there's an audible click sound that has disturbed baby when she is only lightly sleeping. Also, the stand for the screen only has two positions - closed or open - would be good to have the ability to angle the screen more.

Not the cheapest unit on the market, but the quality is noticeable and you get what you pay for. Would we recommend the Kodak Cherish C525 to our friends? Yes, and we have!
