Bad thongs – The things wore down in 2 weeks and broke at the straps. Not happy

Poor quality – We went to the Gold Coast for our work breakup on the 19th December and I forgot my thongs in Melbourne so went straight to the mall on Cavill Street and purchased 2 brand new pairs. One of those pairs after 2 weeks are already worn through and it feels like you're walking on concrete which is very disappointing!! Kmart thongs wear much better than that so fair to say I won't be purchasing Kustom thongs again. Show details

Lost their quality – Use to love kustoms. Comfortable flats with a wider fit. But the quality has dropped to nothing while price keeps increasing. Use to get a year or two of good use out of them, now you're lucky to get a few months before the glue starts peeling. Show details

Online only - sizing runs small and payment to return is costly – Bought shoes online run small for size bought larger size than normal bit can't fit on my feet. Returns are $25 bucks half what the product cost so bit disappointed have to keep them or give away. Show details

Good thong/flipflop – I wear leather thongs all day 365 days of the year. A few months ago got 3 new pairs. Got Kustom thongs and a couple pair of Reefs. insole thicker and with the last buy it was very hard finding reefs with real leather upper insole and strap. Had to order online as went to several surf shops and none had leather, only plastic. Around 5 years ago leather reef were easy to find in store but no longer.

Torn easily, meh fashion – Within six months, my mens Kramers had a large tear in the outer side of the fabric. In terms of fashion, shoelaces look more suited to someone in their twilight years. Have potential but the quality is just slack. Show details

Worst shoes I've ever owned. Falling apart after 2 months – The faux leather is badly peeling off the Hotham shoes after 2 months of casual wear. I attempted to reach out to their Customer Service numerous times but they avoided me every time and I could not manage to speak to anyone. Do not buy KUSTOM SHOES. Shoes lasted less than 6 months - pictures attached – I purchased a pair of Kustom Kramer shoes from City Beach, Shellharbour and the first sign something was wrong after about 30 days of wear. 2 new pairs( different styles) & they look and feel great a few days in but if they are not of the same quality as my old ones, I will let you know.

Worst quality thongs – Purchased a pair of thongs and 3 days in had a blowout and now they keep blowing out. I’ve had poor quality thongs before but Kustom take 1st place in crap thongs by a mile. will never purchase Kustom anything again.

Worst pair of shoes ever – fake leather peeled on edges after 2nd wear. Shoes now falling apart after 10 wears. They are made to look good with no investment in quality at all.. Everything they use appears to be cheap quality and they shoes are not cheap. They should be $15 a pair and even then you'd still be disappointed when they fall to bits in a month or so.

Krap Kustom Remark 'Tough' shoe – My 13 year old son's school shoes were worn for 10 days before the fake leather started to peel away at the sides of the shoes. ABSOLUTE RUBBISH, DO NOT BUY.

Avoid the rubber Kustom thongs/ flip-flops – I bought 2 pairs of Kustom thongs 6 weeks ago or less. SDS had a deal on. I decided to try them as the quality of my last few pairs of Haivaianas seemed to be going downhill (toe straps snapping after only 6-9 months). Well... where my toes contact it. Not just smooth patches but actual holes going into the middle layer of rubber. Super cheap material used. I've never experienced anything like it with any brand of thong I've ever owned (& I'm a 36 year old Aussie who's always lived near the beach, so that's lots of thongs over the years).

Also, the soles are wearing away at an alarming rate & have lost all semblance of grip, turning these into lethal ice-skates in the Bunnings car park after a bit of rain just this morning. And this is all after only 6 weeks of wearing them a few days a week.

I'd strongly advise against spending any money at all on these things, regardless of discounts. Awful.

Complete Rubbish – I am severely disappointed by my pair of Kustom shoes, they lasted about three months and started to fall apart. Will never buy again. And I would recommend that anyone avoid.

Multiple pairs of shoes fall apart after a few weeks!! – DO NOT BUY!! Worst shoe quality ever in my 35yrs! Gone through multiple pairs of Kramer style shoes, first pair started getting holes in the material within 2-3 weeks of wearing them. Thought I'd give the benefit of the doubt and got another pair with similar issues, soles coming away from the material and rubber edges peeling all within a month of owning them. Brought this to the attention of Kustom who have ignored multiple contacts.

Terrible kustoms – My son wore them for 3 weeks sole is worn already after 3 wks they are falling apart !! Will never buy them again will stick with vans !! Really would love a refund but I know it won't happen because the local place I bought them from doesn't stand by them either !!

Poorly made shoes – Purchased these over Vans 'cause I liked the design. Big mistake! I wasn't too impressed with the blisters I got from the first 30 minutes of wear, but thought they'd be OK once worn in... They're now maybe 10 uses old, just worn in; the shoelace eyelets have started coming out and the fabric is torn at the same point on each shoe. I'm generally pretty easy on shoes, so this is pretty shoddy! Get your act together 'Kustom'!

Kustom shoes holed soles in 7 weeks – Hi, my fourteen year old loves his Kustom shoes, wore them everyday for 7 weeks and holed the soles. Previously had a pair of Kuru shoes, wore them everyday for 1 1/2 years and now his brother is wearing them, still going strong. Kustom shoes are crap. Expensive good looking crap.

Poor Quality Shoes – I got a pair of Kustom lace up shoes and within 2 weeks of owning them they began to fall apart. Will be going back to the shop and getting my $90!? back.

Terrible shoes, non existent customer service – I bought these slip-on shoes and only wore them socially (Not everyday). Within three months the sole had fallen off. I then tried to contact Kustom Footwear Australia via their web page and didn't even get a reply. I guess they are designed by surfers as their website states and the company is run by surfers. Stay away, threw them in the bin and went and bought some Kenjis, way better quality. Terrible quality, non existent customer service

Good shoe – Kustom shoe is a comfortable easy to walk and long lasting shoe. I had a set of kustoms for over a year and i wore them every where even used them as skating shoes. Most of my shoes last 3-4 months but the kustoms stayed wearable for a year. They are not only good skating shoes but they are also good school shoes. comfort, easy to walk in, strong and durable
