Think before you sign up for any course with them - inhumane bots responding to emails – I am recent victim, I wish I had done some groundwork before I enrolled. I just sent an online enquiry about Project Management course and they kept calling me about the same and finally managed to convince that with my experience I can land on a job that pays me at least $120,000 per year and they wanted me to enroll immediately by paying $1000… Read more
towards it, quite pushy fixing up a deadline for the offer. After I enrolled I have not availed any of their online services and never accessed any of their online modules as I was busy working 3 jobs to meet my personal needs and pay their installments every month. I requested them to de-register me from the course and give me a refund if possible. Their initial answer was No and I mentioned that this is a lot of stress where I owe someone money for a service that I have not availed, they wanted a report from my GP which I provided but finally they refused and have transferred this to recovery team. Imagine you paying $6000 plus for a service you have never availed. This is what they are, there are no human beings around to take a call on case to case basis. We have highly trained sales bots working for the learning people to scam people in the name of Online courses. It was one way communication from me, they did not even inform me and just handed it over to a recovery agency. I am still not able to believe that I owe someone so much money for not using any product or service. I am planning to go to civil court to seek justice.

Think twice before you enrol – I wish I had known how unreasonable their terms and conditions were before enrolling in this academy. requesting a cancellation, as I understand that the cancellation policy only applies to Ireland and the UK, which does not include Australia. However, their response was ridiculous, as seen below:
"As for your extension request, unfortunately, we will not be able to extend your account free of charge at this stage. This is due to a lack of engagement in your studies as well as a lack of communication with Student Care throughout this time.
You still have until the 26th of September 2024, I highly recomend using this time to attempt finishing some of your courses. If we can see great engagement throughout this time and regular communication with our teams, we may consider an extension closer to the time."
I asked for proof of this in the T&C since I cannot recall it. Even though I supplied a doctor's certificate, this is absolutely being ignored.
Today, I received a call from the solution team, and I received the same unhelpful answer. I have yet to be in touch with the student services, and my lack of commitment to studying has led them to refuse the renewal of my course. They want to assess my commitment to studying before they renew it, but they have offered a discount if I decide to re-enroll. Honestly, looking at that email from [Name Removed] and speaking to whoever called from the solution team, I feel that the staff in charge should be dismissed if I were the manager of this business. As she said, I should try to study after giving. It made me laugh at how ignorant and unknowledgeable it is during pregnancy.
This business seems to be solely focused on money. There's a distinct lack of empathy and flexibility, and it feels like they're more interested in their financial gain than in the success of their students. The way they treat their consumers will surely have consequences in the future. I urge all of you to prioritize upskilling and advancing your studies. It's crucial to thoroughly research before making any enrollment decisions. Don't fall into the same trap I did; I ended up feeling like I was giving away money for nothing. I strongly recommend General Assembly for its trustworthiness, excellent reputation, and value for money in education.

They then hit me with what sounds like "you won't achieve anything in life" sort of response. I instantly knew, that isn't something you should be saying to a customer. The pre-recorded lectures are not created by The Learning People - they just buy the content from other providers. Additionally, their interactive self-paced workshops don't work most of the time. They won't let you cancel your enrolment after the 5 day cooling off period, even though they have sold a faulty product. They insist that any issues the user experiences are the user's issue.
