LG 454L Bottom Mount GB-455 Series Questions & Answers

Every fridge has a compressor which make some noise but in comparison our fridge is definitely not noisy. I'm sure some people just like to complain. And compared to our 14 year old last fridge, it is brilliant and not noisy at all.

I have a 335L but got an email with your question. When I purchase an appliance, I immediately find and download the owner's manual. Looking thru mine I see the hinge note but no suggestions on leveling, even in the installation or troubleshooting section. Attempting something might affect the seal, condensation, etc. I would contact LG service.

I wouldn't buy this again or recommend it because of the noise. I wish I had known before making the purchase.

Have not had this fridge long enough to answer your question...my issue with this fridge is the noises it constantly makes especially at night time and going on my purchase and experience I would not recommend buying this fridge. It is soooo noisy.

Not sure about the door, I don’t have any issues with that! I find the crisper is dreadful and it has an intense whirring sound so I’m not that happy with my choice! However it is interesting that you don’t mind it!

According to the information on their site, the door is reversible. I gather that you can do it yourself (although you may be able to ask the store to do it for you). Not sure.

When I bought mine they advised in store that it was easy to do but they also recommended a local handyman who is skilled in this. When I called LG they of course said it was technical as a result of the door cooler and that it should be done by their techs to avoid any operating issues!

Beth and Brendan, Thanks for your responses to my question re the ease and cost of the LG Fridge left-side hinge door conversion especially when it involves 2 doors to be done. I still have not seen any response from LG on this matter. Maybe they do not want to respond to genuine concerns of potential customers. We will see if this message gets their attention.

While I have a spacious home I’m currently working from my kitchen bench and the fridge has quite a sound that is distinctive! I wouldn’t say it is quiet! I certainly wouldn’t recommend this fridge based on the vegetable crisper alone!

This fridge is extremely quiet. We have open plan living so this was a big factor for us.

It is very noisy; every 4-10 minutes the fan at the back of fridge emits a very high pitched hum for 5-6 seconds. Had the LG technical man out and he said it was normal. Unbearable, but what can one do.

I find that sometimes our fridge makes more noise than at other times but I strongly suspect that it is related to what we have packed into the fridge and how. In extreme cases, if two glass bottles are sitting together in the middle of a shelf they will vibrate together and rattle. Maybe that's what is happening with yours?

maybe... but we don't think so, its lovely and roomy for the two of us so things aren't really touching in there. We are wondering if its that we bought it in winter and its just getting warmer so the pump is operating differently.

No, you fridge is fine. Freezer rarely has Led light for most of the fridges.
