Good fridge, more freezer room than I had with the side by side Samsung and great to have the water and ice on the outside. Saves going into the fridge all the time. The storage in the left door (facing) is quite narrow so you really have to have narrow bottles to make the most of it. The moveable shelf in the Instaview side though is great for quick selection without opening the door as is the adjustable shelf inside for taller items. Downside is that there must be a small storage for chilled water, less than what we had with the Samsung, so for us it is a disappointment to have to top up with ice to get chilled after just one large glass. So far we are happy with the fridge and hope previous views for it not going the distance or customer support doesn't happen to us.

LG Service Centre – After waisting 2 days on the phone all they could tell me that we installed the fridge in a space next to a microwave oven which has a full panel separating the appliances but they wouldn’t warranty the fridge. I asked then when we bought the fridge why the retailer (the good guys) didn’t advise us of this when we purchased the fridge. There also doesn’t appear to be any information of this issue or instruction in the user manual. In short don’t trust LG & don’t trust uninformed retailers as combined they are as useful as tits on a bull.

Don’t buy this fridge!!! – I bought this fridge 3 years ago and the compressor has already broken!! What a joke that a fridge can’t last past 3 years! It is covered under warranty, but trying to go through the warranty process is a joke. They continually lie to you that they don’t have the technicians report. Until you ring back after Speaking to the technician and the report has been sent a week ago. We have been without a fridge for over a week now and they keep asking for the receipt, which I have sent to them. They make it hard for you every step of the way. I asked for a refund into my bank account and was told I couldn’t have a refund. Under the ACCC and consumer laws,if a product has a major failure like mine does, then I’m entitled to a full refund. On LG’s warranty page,it even says I’m entitled to a refund for a major failure. Well the compressor is a major failure LG!!

DONT BUY ANY LG PRODUCTS THEY ARE GARBAGE!!

Thanks again, LG Australia "Customer Support needs training in their product" "Love my new French Door fridge but the LG support people do not know their product so had to head back to the store to get advice on how to access the the Pure N Fresh filter. The instruction provided and confirmed by LG customer service are wrong so LG have obviously changed how it works at the factory and told no one about it."

My review as submitted and their reply - so I guess you cannot rely on their reviews for the honest truth. or support as they do not know their own product.

What I would like LG to do is take the time to visit and see for themselves that it is impossible to service the air filter using the instructions provided both in the user manual and by the customer service operatives. All I have received is a threat to charge me if the service person can get the cover off to access the filter. The method advised to me by the Harvey Norman sales person may in the longer term result in the failure of the part, but at least he knew how to get the thing off because I am not the only person with the issue that purchased from that particular sales person. This is an open invitation!

So, what do you actually plan to do? I have one of your top fridges, and I think that in the end I will have an issue because the instructions for use provided by LG are incorrect, this has got to be in contravention of my rights under Australian warranty. If I have to rely on other than LG manual and LG service department advice to access a self service item then I am at risk of voiding my warranty should that item fail. I guess that I have little option other than to accept the risk or request a full refund as the product is not able to be serviced as per the manual and advice from LG service department.. Once again you are invited to inspect the item

Compromise that has beaten all expectations! – Replaced a 13year old hatch door frige and the performance so far has been excellent. Greater storage, especially the freezer, and the door-in-door access is superb. The water from the ice/water dispenser is chilled despite previous reviews. Very good recommended refrigerator.
