Does anyone have a problem with the crisper not keeping vegies fresh? We get bendy carrots after a few days.

How can I reverse the doors?

When we bought, we had the choice of buying left or right opening. I’m not sure if you can flip from one to the other. Hope that helps! Also double-check in case the newer model can :)

With the latest model (ie i bought in July 2018) you can't just "flip it". You will need to get a professional to do it otherwise your warranty will become void.

I purchased this model WITHOUT the water dispenser last year. (Nov 2016)

The freezer has ceased working, it defrosts anything i put in there. I have lost a lot of food, managed to salvage some and place in a small freezer I have thank goodness. Has anyone else had this problem? I reported to retailer who were very good and passed on to LG, but when I contacted LG they couldn't locate the e mail which has now delayed the service call another 48 hours which now makes that 96 hours. I think this is too long and feel the after sales service from the manufacturer leaves a lot to be desired. I am just relieved I don't have a problem with the refrigerator as I would be very unhappy . I have never experienced a problem with a fridge/ freezer in the past but then I have never purchased an LG.

Same model, bought in March 2017. A year later freezer stopped working, followed by the rest of the fridge. Reported problem to LG on Tuesday, they have passed it to a 3rd party company that does the service. The technician came on following Monday (!), competent guy, was able to check the fridge, but since the problem was with the compressor and sealing of the gas pipes, it couldn't be repaired. Next few days me and my wife spent calling LG and the servicing company, trying to coordinate the process, as they were blaming each other on not sending some reports through. Two days our case spent being "escalated", whatever it means, to a higher level case manager at LG, waiting for her to make a decision, It's quite difficult to imagine how long it takes without "escalation". Finally the replacement fridge was delivered to us exactly 2 weeks after we have reported that the old one died. Quite horrible service experience.

I bought my LG in August 2016 & have never had this issue. I haven't done this myself but apparently there is a SMART DIAGNOSIS you can do via an app & a SELF CHECK (see your manual). This should be covered by warranty for sure. You should just be able to call LG directly & they will direct you to an authorized agent to fix it for you. With any issues with appliances I usually just call the company directly....easier than a 3rd party unless you have extended warranty then you will need to go through them.

Smart diagnosis is in my opinion more a marketing feature than the real thing. Our fridge still reported all good even when it was completely broken :) We did call LG and the whole process was fronted by them. The problem was they didn't communicate with their repair agents and they were waiting for each other to push some papers for days.

I purchased my LG-GB450UPLX fridge with bottom freezer on 31/19/2018 from the Good Guys because it was highly recommended by CHOICE. Shortly into the New Year I noticed that the freezer was not freezing & notified LG by Live chat on Tuesday 8/01/2019 & was informed I would hear from a service technician within 24-48 hours. As I had not heard back late the following day I rang LG & was informed their local service centre in Newcastle had been notified & would be in touch. I then called the local service centre myself to arrange for a service technician to come to assess the problem to be told a technician would call me directly to arrange date & time to come. No such call came despite my calling the service centre on both the Thursday & Friday but I was informed that the matter had been referred to their most experienced technician, who without inspecting & assessing my fridge, had diagnosed that the problem lay in the electronic control board. Over the weekend I noticed that the fridge section was not cooling efficiently as well & on the Sunday, 13/01/2019 ,6 days after my initial complaint to LG, I contacted them via email to ask if they had another service centre in the Hunter Valley who could provide a faster service. Late on the Monday evening, I had a call from an LG representative who advised me that she would contact the local service people & get back to me on the Tuesday. Not hearing from either LG or the local service people by late Tuesday morning... 15/01/2019, a week since my initial complaint to LG, I again contacted them both & am informed that the part required has been ordered, which surprised me as there has still been no inspection of my fridge. My follow-up call to LG on the 16/01/2019 informed me the part was delivered to the Newcastle service centre at 9.20 a.m that morning. I have called the local service people every day this week & each day I've asked for an appointed date & time for the service technician to fix my fridge & been told that they are waiting for him to contact them re his availability. Today is Friday 18/01/2019, 10 days since I reported the problem to LG, I have contacted LG by Live chat, email, and at least 2 phone calls, I have had to throw out food, I have been in DAILY contact with the local service centre since 9/01/2019, BUT my fridge is completely useless during an intense heatwave & have just been informed that the technician has the part & MIGHT get to me later this afternoon as he has to make service calls up as far as Dungog....90kms away, poor bloke in this dreadful heat. We have a population of over 500,000 here in the Hunter....Surely LG must have other service technicians servicing this area. I have had this LG fridge less than 3 months, it has been malfunctioning for the past 2 weeks, it would appear that the problem may be a common one if indeed it is the electronic control board which has failed, as diagnosed over the phone. Both the product & the after sale service are totally unacceptable. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

UPDATE: Today, 21/01/2019, 13 days after reporting to LG that my 3 month old fridge/freezer GB-450 UPLX was malfunctioning, a technician has finally come to assess the problem & to repair it. Electronic control board apparently NOT the problem as had been previously diagnosed over the phone.Problem is a leaking gas pipe so the compressor is malfunctioning & as the pipes are all concealed it cannot be repaired. Technician has reported problem to LG to expedite my getting a replacement. I have notified the Good Guys & await information as to when a new fridge will be delivered. The fridge is no longer cooling & the freezer has not been freezing for almost 3 weeks now. Not good enough LG!! Obviously a lemon.I do not have another fridge. LG needs a call centre here in Australia, not the Philippines. If their allocated local technician is unable to attend to a service call out within 48 hours to assess the problem in the first place, then they should allocate the job to another local service technician, as I requested in my email to LG on Jan 13. Had this been done I would have had a replacement fridge before this. Instead I am still without a functioning fridge 2 weeks later in the middle of summer.

Is the fridge noisy and can the doors be left mounted?

Chris
Chris

Hi, like said the fridge has normal sound levels to me. Noise is different to each ear. I would call it quiet in operation but once in a while you hear it more than most times. Don't think the door can be swapped around since the handles (or grabs) are sunk into the door itself from the side and only one side has it. Both fridge and freezer door swings and hinges are on the right side if you stand in front of it. But get in touch with LG support and they will help you better than I can.
