lasted 5 years and then conked out. No benefit in trying to fix as would be half the cost of a new fridge. Short life of appliances seems to be an LG issue these days (same with an LG washing machine we had - victim there of LG's woeful customer service). We would not trust anything from LG now.

Great fridge except the fact it died just after the warranty expired. LG were not helpful in getting a resolution. Any lawyers reading this? Can you please help us consumers create a class action lawsuit or join one? Against LG. They know their fridges are dodgy but continue selling lemons, please someone help us. The cost of living is so high, the sudden failure of our fridge and poor support from LG, has really pushed us over the edge.

LG Fridge Linear Inverter FAIL – Fridge is 3 years old and has stopped cooling it seems as though the Linear Inverter has gone (10 year warranty). nothing, I had to contact them again. They have booked me in with local repair centre who aren't open for another 2 days. So who knows how long we are looking at having someone look at it, let alone wait for parts for repair.
We are a family of 5 with 3 teenagers. Not sure what LG expect us to do? The fridge cost $2300. I would never recommend this fridge, or LG to anyone after all the reviews regarding their Linear Inverters failing. Google it, and save yourself the trouble and buy something else.

Worst Fridge ever – Bought this fridge and after 2 years it failed and stopped cooling, everything had to be thrown out. They replaced it as it was In warranty and we got the exact same fridge. Now 3 years go by and it’s happened again. LG won’t do anything about it. Will never buy an LG fridge again!
DON'T BUY AN LG PRODUCT!!!! Poor warranty support – My Fridge failed on the 29/2/24 it was assessed the next day by the authorised service agent and deemed irreparable the report was submitted the following day and now LG is sitting on their hands claiming that they don't know what to do as the original store of purchase has closed down. Disappointed! – Paid good money so I thought it would be better. Water is not chilled, only room temperature. Not a lot of internal room for a fridge of this capacity. Sliding retractable shelf is useless, bordering on dangerous! The moment you put something on it it retracts. Show details
2 cups of cold water – Pretty disappointed that the water from the dispenser only gives about 1-2 cups of cold water each day. Takes 7-8 hours to cool more water. Issue with icemaker: poor customer service – Soon after I bought this fridge, I observed some white powder around the space where you get water and ICE. Called Lg. LG gave me a repairer number. They organised to get the icemaker replaced. This was where all the issue started: it went on for 6 months. LG sent the repairer the wrong icemaker 4 times. after 6 month. But the issue with the white powder remains. I spoke to LG customer service staff and asked for a replacement fridge. The said that they would call me back in two days, but they never did. Every time I called, they said that they were waiting for information from the repairer. But they have not done enough to chase that up. They could not give me a timeframe when this will be expected to be resolved. There is no other number you can call, apart from the 1300 number. Could not speak to a manager on the phone. I emailed the CEO's office on their website months ago, never received a reply (but did get acknowledgement that they received the email). I sent a message to the social media team, and never got a reply. I own quite a number of LG products and I am not sure I will ever buy another one again, as this experience has been very frustrating. I chose mediation via this site first but received no reply from LG after weeks have gone by. So I am publishing this review. This poor customer service is not acceptable. Update: after this review was published, LG customer service finally contacted me and said that the white powder was normal (because of the calcium build up - but i don't get calcium build up in any of my appliances such as kettle, no white powder from the other LG fridge either), and the icemaker should never have been replaced! There was no genuine apology. they said that LG customer service gave wrong advice to me and the repairer. But LG still send the wrong parts four times. Each time, I had to wait for four hours for the repairer to come, and they would have to be on site to discover that the part was wrong. Frustrating. I was advised by LG warrantee service that not to use the ice maker until it was fixed. I repeat that this poor after sale customer service is not acceptable. There are a lot less white powder coming out of the icemaker since the replacement icemaker was installed though.

The water pump is so LOUD, especially when the fridge is silent otherwise, it makes no sense using a 70db $2 lift pump to dispense the water and fill the ice trays. It is not that bigger issue during the day, but of a nigh you will hear the ice fill and this is so loud it will wake you up. They also left the space for the water filter but did not include the connections or filter, why not leave this in an lets us filter the water, the pump clearly has enough pressure??
The adjustable shelves (of which there is one) has one adjustment which leaves you with 2 shelves that nothing of a standard height will fit (like a jam jar or a 600ml bottle). This also means no water bottles fit making it a pain to fill the internal water tank as you can't store a 4L water bottle in the fridge as none of the shelves allow one to fit despite this being a standard size). Only the left side draw will open without having both doors open, so if you want to get into the draws you will be opening both fridge doors and letting all the cold air out.
The app does nothing useful, it doesn't even display the fridge temps...

Other than this minor fault we love the Fridge it looks great and all the features and design are great. 6 months that we have owned it - it was a weekly chore with our old fridge.
One thing that does strike me as odd is the connectivity? The fridge can be connected to the Wi-Fi and you can install an app to control the fridge? I get that everyone is doing it now days, but it seems like a useless tool, there's not a lot of changes required on a fridge.
Overall, it looks good, is quiet and reliable, and it keeps my beer cold - 5 stars.

to be rusting. The freezer section is at the bottom of the fridge and is very roomy, the drawers are convenient. The fridge makes a sound if you’ve left any of the doors open. This fridge has silent operation. It’s very quiet.

The best fridge – We wanted to upgrade our old LG fridge (which we had for the past 8 years or so). I love 4 separate doors, very convenient. It has retractable shelf to store tall items (bottles, etc) in the fridge which is very useful from time to time. The freezer has 2 separate doors (again very convenient) and separate drawers which keeps all content very organized and easy to locate. the depth of the fridge to 620mm and reducing its weight by about 40kg. The only tools needed are a Phillips head screwdriver, hex head tool and a small stepladder. Follow the instructions in the well written info booklet and the doors are off within 10 minutes.
The delivery guys waited while I did this and then they installed the main fridge.
After reinstalling the doors, removing the protective plastics etc there is simple method of connecting the water line but you will need an adjustable spanner or equivalent to tighten the locking nut.
This fridge is well designed. Strong hinges, good recessed handles, solid feel, bright LED lights in fridge and freezer compartments, quiet operation. Simple and easy to understand buttons. Current draw is around 2 amps.
The slim indoor ice maker is another highlight. Self contained within the left hand door it allows easy access to the ice holder and the ice cube mechanism. Easy to clean and see how much gorgeous crushed ice I can crunch for my ciders. Steel crushing jaws and a steel mixing probe to keep the ice from sticking together. Wonderful.
A few minor negatives,
the WiFi connection and app is utter rubbish and I think only included so the word "smart" could be used in marketing campaigns. Just appalling and makes you cringe also doesn't have an egg holder. LG had the chance to design an amazing egg holder that flipped or slid out from somewhere but marketing wanted WiFi connectivity which did I mention is an embarrassment. Wish list. A small pull out or flip down table on the left hand door so you could sit your coffee/ tea and grab the milk from the fridge.
