lasted 5 years and then conked out. No benefit in trying to fix as would be half the cost of a new fridge. Short life of appliances seems to be an LG issue these days (same with an LG washing machine we had - victim there of LG's woeful customer service). We would not trust anything from LG now.
2018 Paid $3600.00 for LG 4xDoor Converter Linea Compressor- Fridge x 2 year Warranty, Compressor x 20 Year Warranty. Xmas 2025 Linear Compressor failed (after x6 years) . Contacted LG with Frig Serviceman confirmation of Compressor failure. LG Service Centre refused to replace Compressor under Warranty as specified under Terms & Conditions. Dreadful Service. Purchased fridge July 2022 . Very noisy . In December 2024 it stopped cooling due to fridge/freezer fan stopped working . LCD screen indicates FFE . LGs response is to defrost unit & wipe down inside of unit . Done all that without success .… Read more
Replaced the freezer fan by Lic. repairer & unit worked . After 6 months same error code kept coming on . Followed LG instructions but after two years of turning unit on & off it finally stopped cooling again Febuary 2026 . So the same issue to replace another fan of which there are two both different . Problem is finding a repairer who can do the job . Last time my fridge was left in pieces for 3 months trying to get a part . I am a pensioner & can't afford another $2500.00 .
Follow-up · Sent email to LG and received a digital response . Apparently if your product is out of warranty you can't get through to their customer service . My fridge was just out of warranty the first time of failure so I had it repaired by authorised repairer and same problem happened again . Still waiting for repairer . Depending on cost of fitting both fans this time I may as well take it to the tip . Never buy LG products again .

4 door compact Fridge Freezer – Recently purchased from The Good Guys this Fridge Freezer is everything we needed. We had a limited space (900cm) and had to watch the door hinge space needed as it is up against a wall on one side. This model gave us Max capacity for its size 83.5cm wide. I attach a photo with its large capacity. The freezer has 2 doors and 6 drawers so… Read more
everything is visible and easy to pack and stack. The fridge has 2 doors and one door incorporates crushed or cubed ice and water. It has a 4 Lt water container so does not need to be plumbed in. There are 2 large drawers at the bottom and one shelf has the capacity to fold back to allow tall bottles etc. It is the best fridge/freezer we have had.
Awesome Fridge – The fridge is great, water and ice dispenser works perfectly. It’s definitely big enough for lots of food. Unfortunately Harvey Norman delivered the wrong fridge, but we were able to use the one they brought until the correct one arrived. They also gave us free delivery.

Great fridge! Definitely worth the purchase – After doing a ton of research on fridges that come with an ice and water dispenser, I ultimately chose this fridge for the Thin Q system and the fact it's non-plumbed. I live on acreage and only have access to tank water which naturally tends to cause tannin in the water so you need a filter to make sure it's safe for drinking. To purchase a… Read more · 1
fridge with plumbing involved I would of had to purchase an extra in line filter, on top of having to replace the fridge filter every 6 months. So I decided to look into non plumbed fridges, and there is a few styles of dispensers but the Thin Q system is definitely the best in my opinion. For example, every time you open the fridge, you let warm air in and if you have a non separated compartment dispenser they are more prone to having ice jams from the already made ice defrosting and you risk your dispenser getting damaged. The great thing about the thin Q system is it's a closed off secured section in your fridge that acts like a little freezer just for dispenser so that when you open your fridge your not exposing your already made ice to the warm air. Plus the benefit of having this non- plumbed fridge is you have a water reservoir that you can fill and it just sits in your fridge as though your storing cold water in your fridge which is great as all it takes is for it to be just refilled with bottled water (or tap water if you live in suburbia) Another thing worth mentioning is, I used to buy 3 bags of ice per fortnight as I like to have ice in my drinks and I was spending quite a bit of money on ice bags. I was concerned when I would buy a fridge with a dispenser that it wouldn't make enough ice for my family as we use quite a bit of ice for drinks and I was pleasantly surprised that it actually makes more than enough and the ice lasts much longer as the fridge gets the ice really cold. We have only run out of ice once in the past 3 months we've had it and that's because I forgot to refill the water reservoir. The reservoir takes 4 Litres to fill it, and we have to refill it every second day. It's very handy when my kid needs a drink of water and is able to go get it easily, I have found it has encouraged my kid to drink more water, he loves having control over how much water he gets and that he can choose between the crushed or cubed ice. It's also worth mentioning that the fridge is super quiet, the only time it makes any noise is when it has made a new batch of ice and it drops the ice into the ice compartment in the Thin Q storage system but other than that, it's runs super quiet.
I really prefer the "French Door" style for this fridge, as the fridge section is on top and the freezer on bottom which makes it easier to see what you have in your fridge. People use the fridge section more than the freezer so to it seemed more practical to have this style compared to the "Side by side" style of fridge. I have found it helpful with reducing waste and end up using everything I have in the fridge. I love how cold the fridge and freezer gets, the fridge gets drinks super cold and with the retractable shelf on the right side of the fridge means you can have soft drink, juice and wine all stand up instead of laying them down. The freezer draws are great for organizing and it makes it easier to stack and fit everything in, and it can get as low as -15 degrees so now I have a designated ice cream and ice block drawer in the freezer!
The only thing i don't like about this fridge is, its a little smaller than we were hoping for but it ticked every other box we had. In comparison to other fridges we looked at, we felt the lack of extra space is worth dealing with as this fridge had everything else we wanted.
I definitely recommend this fridge, when we talked to salesman at Harvey Norman we asked what brands are easier to deal wit, when it comes to repairs and issues, and they told us LG are really good at handling returns, problem fixing and generally good at helping customers if they have issues with the goods. Though one thing I would like to suggest to anyone looking at this fridge is to get the product care. Even though we have had no issues thus far and LG are good with any problem fixing. This fridge has more technology on it, sometimes technology can muck up and with it being such a big purchase we wanted to make sure we got the product care just in case something does happen.
I have really enjoyed all the bells and whistles that come this fridge, after having my last fridge for 8 years, I seriously needed a new fridge, I am so glad I went this one as it's just great machine and suits the needs of my family.
It’s the best fridge, I’ve ever brought – It has wheels for ease of removing , very spacious easier to clean which is a plus , is very well lit . Deep draws and shelves , Freezer has deep draws and door shelves Show details · 1
A great looking fridge – We purchased this fridge to replace our old double door fridge in January this year. I loved the idea of the freezer section as my old one just had the drawer which meant everything got lost in it and there was always a mass of escaped peas at the bottom of the drawer. I was hesitant because of the lack of meat drawer but those with the bottom… Read more
freezer like this one all seem to be minus this addition.
There are lots of pros for this fridge starting with the amazing look of it, the inbuilt water and ice function, the freezer section, I really do love the freezer section, and the size inside. There are some cons but these are easily over looked as you adjust to having this fridge in your family. The first con would be; 1. The water isn't as cold as it would be from a free standing water cooler, but the easy access to ice makes up for it. 2. The loss of the meat drawer, this one was a hard one for me but I have resorted to using one veggie drawer for this as I do have my own veggie garden so 2 drawers are not needed. 3. The loss of space in the door from the inbuilt water cooler, but I did work out most sauce and dressing bottles seem to fit there.
I would highly recommend this fridge to any medium size family as it would be a great addition to your home.
I like the fridge, but have a few issues with it. 1. You can’t fully open the right drawer unless both doors are open & a whole cauliflower doesn’t fit either of the drawers. 2. It’s nice and quiet: except when the ice-making kicks in. The water flow can be a bit startling, though it might be less noticeable if your fridge/freezer is enclosed by… Read more
cupboards on both sides (unlike ours). 3. My main gripe is when the water container has about 1cm of water left: it’ll continue sucking every few hours, but can’t get the rest out. It’ll get air in the tube, so even when you refill the container, it takes agggeeesss to start flowing again. There’s no light or warning indicator to refill the container, you just have to pay attention to it. We’ve resorted to using an air vacuum to get it flowing again, as we just can’t get it going without one.

Never buying an LG fridge ever again, the doors rust where the water dispenser is they replaced the door for us once a d the same thing happened again just 6 months after they replaced it this shouldn't be happening and have never seen this before in previous fridges.

Perfect size for empty nesters or a small family – We wanted a refrigerator with a non plumbed water & ice dispenser. I have always had 'stainless steel' refrigerators, but liked the look of the matte black, in the showroom. I must say that the matte black not only looks good, but is also super easy to keep clean. Just a wipe with a damp cloth keeps it looking great, so much easier than stainless… Read more
steel!
The fridge is silent at all times, except when the pump kicks in to refill the water dispenser/ice maker from the water tank. I don't find this to be too annoying as it only lasts a few seconds & is not too loud. Of course the ice maker is noisy when dispensing ice, but all such refrigerator ice dispensers are noisy. The temperature control seems very consistent & is easily adjustable, via the control panel or the LG Thinq app on your smart phone. The 'door open' warning is a bit too timid & soft for me, I would like it a bit louder, but I understand that a lot of people find these warnings annoying. Perhaps LG could allow us to adjust the tone & volume via the LG Thinq app?
Was a bit disappointed by the lack of egg & dairy storage sections, but this was soon fixed by buying some fridge organisers from ebay.
Overall, we are very happy with the refrigerator & would recommend it for smaller households.
Great fridge except for pump noise – Love the fridge and it is completely silent for the most part. After you have used the ice or crushed ice dispenser a few minutes later the water pump turns on to refill the ice that needs to be replaced. The pump is quite noisy but it only operates for 3-5 seconds. I can see why it could annoy some people, especially since it cant be that hard… Read more · 1
to install a quiet water pump for a fridge that costs quite a lot of money. If it decided to do that in the middle of the night, well I doubt it would wake me, but it might others.
The only time if you had used a LOT of ice entertaining and the fridge had to make a lot of ice over night I might be tempted to turn the ice maker off and turn it on in the morning. Id still far rather have the ice maker than switch it off
Also I get the impression the stainless steel is easily dinted, I watched the delivery drivers unbox it and I didn't see them touch it anywhere but I noticed some tiny barely noticeable dints in the door (one in the fridge door and one in the freezer door. Not enough for me to complain to the retailer as you can only see them at an angle when looking for them, but never the less they are there.
Over all pretty happy with it, looks great and it is Silent (apart from the above), it was so quiet when it started up I wasn't even sure if was on, and it cooled quite quickly.

LG 4-door fridge ticks all the boxes! – What a great fridge - thoughtfully designed storage spaces, the matt black finish is excellent. Combine that with the ice, crushed or blocks (both produced very quietly), and filtered water on demand and its a winner! very happy with this purchase. Show details · 1

I purchased this LG refrigerator less than 3 months ago, and it has already completely failed. It stopped making ice, stopped cooling, and then stopped working entirely. This level of product failure and after-sales service is unacceptable for a nearly new appliance. I would not recommend this product.
Really bad fridge. Problems from the start. Seals broke and were replaced and broke again early on. Then the ice machine and water dispenser stopped working about 6 months after the extended 5 year warranty expired. Just shy of 7 years, the freezer and refrigeration function stopped working, so we have an expensive cupboard. LG are prepared to pay… Read more

Originally purchased a GF-L708 in 2019, that fridge constantly froze everything in the vegetable compartment and after attempting to repair it LG replaced it with the GF-L706. I note that in the US there is a class action commencing over this issue.

Came to read the reviews as I cannot believe LG's customer service can be that POOR. It feels like they are doing everything they can to avoid sending someone to fix the fridge until the warranty expires in September. I should have stuck with SAMSUNG. Great fridge except the fact it died just after the warranty expired. LG were not helpful in getting a resolution. Have since found many reviews stating their fridges had also died at 3 years, so appears to be a manufacturing issue, or planned obsolescence. Yes it did die just after the stated warranty, so there is no obligation from LG, but I… Read more

This fridge has been awful. Cost thousands and has lasted 6 years! We have had 3 repair people come out due to various issues each time costing hundreds. service repeatedly it was simply impossible and useless as out of warranty. After 6 years the entire fridge just stopped working and we came home to find everything melted. I will never purchase LG again.
It was around a year old when the ff er error started. When I contacted LG I was told it was due to frost build up. I told the person that it is highly unlikely because the error is accompanied by the whole unit turning off. is faulty I will get my money back. Yes, read that again... They wanted me to pay for a warranty checkup. I refused. I turned off the unit for a day. Turned it back on.. Guess what - shock and awe, the error returned after 3 weeks. Now it has the error up to 6 times a day. Often overnight. Which means the fridge items become room temprature, the ice in the ice maker ends up in a puddle in the door handles and on the floor. Frozen items defrost. This unit is 1 year old now. When this started it was 11 months old.
There are class action lawsuits in the US and Canada over the exact issues all of the reviewers and myseldf have experienced. Maybe we should do the same in Aus.

Any lawyers reading this? Can you please help us consumers create a class action lawsuit or join one? Against LG. They know their fridges are dodgy but continue selling lemons, please someone help us. The cost of living is so high, the sudden failure of our fridge and poor support from LG, has really pushed us over the edge.
Compressor blown up only after 5 years They promote their silly 10 year warranty on the compressor Guess what that doesn’t include labour Out of pocket $500 to have it replaced in labour Labour is actually more than the part We have other branded appliances and labour is included under the warranty Once upon a time fridges lasted years not only 5 years Because of this I will not be purchasing another LG branded appliance

We are a family of 5 with 3 teenagers. Not sure what LG expect us to do? The fridge cost $2300. I would never recommend this fridge, or LG to anyone after all the reviews regarding their Linear Inverters failing. Google it, and save yourself the trouble and buy something else.
Avoid at all costs – Buyer's remorse has set in with this lemon. Had a linear compressor failure during the covid years, only 14vmonths old, took 3 months to get a tech to fit a new compressor, 2 years later it has happened again. Worst Fridge ever – Bought this fridge and after 2 years it failed and stopped cooling, everything had to be thrown out. They replaced it as it was In warranty and we got the exact same fridge. Now 3 years go by and it’s happened again. LG won’t do anything about it. Will never buy an LG fridge again!
Extremely cheap build quality – Extremely bad build quality, customer service team were not helpful and spent weeks going around in circles. Shelf broke 2 years in, it being held by a very cheap piece of plastic.
Rotten LG fridge – Purchased this fridge 3 years and 1 month (to the day) ago. Went on 4 weeks vacation and came home to a putrid mess. did nothing about the putrid smell. After the fridge was cleaned twice with vinegar and bleach the smell was no better. This has rendered the fridge unusable for health reasons with possible mould in places I can’t access to clean. LG has done nothing to compensate for the necessary purchase of a new fridge. My advice is stay clear of LG - unsatisfactory customer service. Update: Quite sometime later LG did in fact compensate me for the fridge. I was paid approximately half the original price for the fridge and obviously am out of pocket over $2000, having to purchase a new fridge. Despite claiming through LG for loss of food no compensation was ever received.
Not worth the investment – Extremely disappointed that 3years and 4months after purchase the LG L570MBNL fridge it is dead (compressor). Lost the whole fridge contents, no cooling what so ever. Absolutely rubbish for a fridge to die in 3.4years with only a 2year warranty. Now it seems that there is so many others in the same position. Will take this up with consumer protection that LG knowingly sell a defective product. Show details
Very disappointing for the price – There quite a few concerns with this Fridge/Freezer. Firstly the shelves are pretty close together and combined with limited fridge door space means there's not a lot of room to store bottles, other than laying down. Which is not always possible. In theory the slide away portion of one of the shelves is meant to help with this, but to use it… Read more
makes half of two shelves useless for anything else. The added bonus with this bit of shelf is you can easily bump it when things are on it sending those things tumbling onto the kitchen floor.
Secondly, the top shelf has a lot of flex in it. I don't trust it with any significant load and thus it's usefulness is limited.
the biggest problem, however, is it's durability. This thing had dents in the outside within days of us getting it home. Within the first 6 weeks it had more dents than the previous fridge had in 6 years. The "ThinQ" branding must mean they've made it out of the thinnest possible Stainless steel they possible could.
In all seriousness, one of the dents came about from accidently brushing a glass bottle up against an edge. Not hard. Just putting it back in the fridge.
In recent weeks we've discover one the small door shelves on the back of the ice maker has broken off. To fix it we will have to replace the whole inner door of the icemaker.
Another thing, that isn't a fault, but worth noting, the height listed in the specs is the smallest adjustable height, not the largest or the middle. This caught us out as we thought we had just enough room to get under cupboard and I had to remount the whole thing to fit the fridge. It would be nice to know the range when buying.
Overall it's very disappointing from a brand which is meant to be be better than the cheapest on the market.
