repair if I chose to proceed with repair. The unit has 10 year warranty stamped on the Oven. So why do I have to pay for anything if it is under 10 years.
Don’t expect it to last much beyond the manufacturer’s warranty and don’t bother chasing it up – I purchased the LG Neochef 42L smart inverter microwave oven from Bing Lee Bankstown in October 2021, with two years warranty. LG and spoke to a resolutions team member. After discussing the issue he told me that he does not know how the defect may have occurred, “Maybe food got caught under the turntable”. I told him if that was the case why is the defect confined to only one spot? Would it not have dragged along and created a circle of rust? I also told him that I was not happy with his response and I will be going to Fair Trading. His reply was that the microwave was out of warranty and I can do whatever I like. I contacted fair trading and was advised to go back to the seller, Bing Lee Bankstown which I did. I was attended to by a gentleman whose name I cannot recall. He advised me to contact LG. When I told him that Fair Trading advised me to go back to the store where I purchased the microwave he offered to take photos of the defect and send them to LG and he added that the microwave is now out of warranty and he cannot do anything about it. I emailed LG customer support Australia, Fair Trading also attempted to contact LG customer support but it seems we both have been ghosted by LG Electronics. I will never waste my money on an LG product again and I would think twice about purchasing from Bing Lee Bankstown.

It heats cold items extremely fast, my old microwave would take a very long time, where as this one is very zippy.
Its also extremely easy to clean, after putting chickpea soup in the microwave i forgot to cover it, causing it to explode everywhere, I was able to clean the inside with just a paper towel due to the internal ceramic coating.
My only issue is sometimes it wont register the press to start the microwave, meaning you may have to press quite hard to get it going.

Issues with the unit are sorted by LG – The build quality is good, ease of operation is also good. There were issues with the unit after 15 months after purchase, however this was sorted by LG without too much hassle. we had issue with the digital display. It was fixed under warranty.
We now have another issue where the appliance just stops and powers off whilst heating up meal, then it powers back on again. We can also hear some buzzing noise sometimes although not in use (only plugged in). We only use it to heat up meals so we expect an appliance at this price should last longer than warranty period.
We have just emailed LG to find out about the assessment fee is so we can decide if it is worth the repair.
Better than my previous microwaves – Very easy to use. I especially like the quick option with the slider for selecting the time. Very quiet compared to my previous microwaves, and I like the jingle (as opposed to the overused beep-beep-beep to tell me when it's done. Show details · 1

Terrible product, More terrible support – I bought a NeoChef, 42L Smart Inverter Microwave Oven SKU: MS4296OSS.BSS7LAP in July 2023 and it stopped working within 10 days. Since then I have been tortured by LG by their useless non existing customer service and their refusal to refund the amount. and there is no difference. Since its not heating, one can reasonably assume its the megatron and it would be covered for repairs like its so proudly mentioned on the front of the unit "10 year warranty", but no LG doesn't agree. It's just become a useless piece of junk. We had a Panasonic microwave before getting this LG. The Panasonic microwave was still working fine after more than 17 years and we only replaced it for the LG because we wanted to modernize the kitchen. In hindsight, that was a terrible mistake. We would have hoped reaching out to LG, we would find a solution but we are not prepared to pay for repairs when we can replace it for under $150 with a new unit from a more reputable brand. Funny thing is, our old Panasonic was given to a friend and I just found out it's still running, wow. It's sad, but we now have zero confidence in LG products and after sales service. LG have failed Us.

Dud Do Not Buy! 4 different problems over 3.5 yrs – Purchased brand new in store 19/10/ 19 Around Oct 2021 Microwave not starting due to error saying the door was open even though it was fully shut. Drove the 15 kilometres again and about a week later fiixed by service department. Around the middle of this year another problem occurred - the microwave would go 'crazy' about 10 minutes after use, whilst in an adjoining room all of a sudden it would start making all sorts of noises as if I be was randomly pressing buttons on it even though I was no where near it. Thought I'd wait until it became more regular and the problem stopped reoccurring. March 2023 - the second bottom '_' on the LCD display not illuminating (eg the bottom horizontal stroke on the digit '0'). I monitored this problem and after a couple of days it magically reappeared. 18/4/23 After several weeks, perhaps a couple of months of the microwave 'loosing strength' I called service again. Basically it stopped heating altogether after seemingly reducing reheat and cooking ability on an ad hoc basis. The service department explained only the Magnetron was covered at this point and I'd pay $66 for the service but not the part if that's what the problem is. Took it again the 15 kilometres to the service centre (this being the third time) And [Name Removed] (Mt Waverly, Victoria) service centre was great, replaced the Magnetron on the spot (and $66 later). I saw the old one the 'Fins' had been drawn close together (perhaps through repeated expansion and contraction?) And were slightly loose. Unlike the new one which he showed me. Basically that indicated to me that it was poorly designed and although and I got the impression he'd had to replace that many times before. Excellent service by him but Overall my impression is that most of the focus in designing this microwave was done on basic things like the looks and perhaps functionality but not on an the engineering which is poor in my experience and I definitely won't be buying another LG microwave when this one fails again.
Terrible Microwave - First & Last LG Purchase – This microwave hasn't lasted 3 years and has stopped heating altogether. Paid almost $350 for this and would expect more. Tech for tech sake spoils what should be a decent appliance – Some of the auto cook options are way off - could never get decent rice cooked, compared to other microwaves I've owned. Biggest issue has been with random errors and faults, typically due to a failure between the controls on the door and the unit. Disappointed – The buttons are hard to operate. I spend 5 seconds to click start everytime. It doesn't get better with time. Only allows selection of multiple of 10 seconds. meter it gets better. When complaining to Bing Lee they asked me to call LG who in turn told me to take it to an electronics technician. The bloke had a cheap measurement tool that only measures single directional fields and limited to 2.4GHz. Being an Engineer I know that my own tool is more accurate but didn't want to argue with the technician.

manufacturing fault so we were charged $55 for service as they couldn't replicate it. We had a video but they didn't even look at it and told us it didn't matter. They said the screen was dirty ? This occurred after cooking rice, but we have been cooking rice in it almost daily fot the last 2 yrs and haven't had this fault before ? Contacted LG, they said they would look into it but it was up to service centre report, even though the consultant told me if I had a video as proof it should be ok.
I wouldn't have taken it in for service if I was going to be charged $55 knowing the video had no relevance and knowing the fault may not be replicated.
Previous Panasonic microwave lasted 7 yrs with no problems. This microwave is 2 yrs old and has already had lots of faults.

Disappointing microwave, underperforming and noisy – Swayed by the reviews, purchased this microwave over 12 months ago. It has always been noisy with the plastic guides/ wheels possibly the cause. manufacturing warranty and 8 on parts only if it is the magnatron, however we must pay for labour. It is disappointing that LG is not standing by their products, especially after 3 in 5 years. The microwave only gets used in a residential kitchen and not in an industrial kitchen, so you would expect a better lifespan. Quite disappointed. It seems it will be cheaper to buy a new microwave again rather than pay the labour costs.

lights are on but it's not heating. LG support says take it to the repairer (the 'Smart Diagnosis' software is 'being upgraded, it isn't working'). Could spend another 4-5 hours and $150+ on labour to get it repaired (with parts free?) but when will the LG fail again? Buying a new microwave, unlikely to be LG.

Does what i need it to do – Love the way this Microwave looks with most of the buttons and menus behind the door. I only really use it to reheat so having only the bare essential buttons and a handy time slider on the outside suit me 100%. that it is preferably placed on a counter, not in a cabinet as most microwaves are, including ours. It's also disappointing that there is no way to change the time on the clock without first turning the power off.
However, the worst issue is that it keeps stopping and displaying the fault message 'door' after about 2 seconds when trying to use. We called LG service centre, who eventually told us to go back to the store where it was purchased, where it was tested and faulted twice from about eight test runs, and was then returned to us as being functional. On re-using at home, it works occasionally, but keeps coming up with the same fault message. To cook anything requires us to reset the timer 6-8 times before it works. We have only had the microwave for 2 days, but VERY VERY UNHAPPY. We are now going to return it to the store again for either replacement or a refund as this particular item is not fit for purpose.
We ended up taking the microwave back to the retailer, and were given a brand new unit. Thankfully, it works as required every time we use it. Still would prefer to be able to change the time without turning off power. We have also advised LG of inconsistencies re location/space requirements in their operating manual.
