Vibrates and moves along floor – Have tried levelling it. Used anti vibration pads and my last attempt to stop it moving was a large sponge mat, nothing works. Has crack my tiles and loosened grout.

Moves too much – A picture tells the story. Don't know how to keep my washing machine in its corner. Washes brilliantly though. Dances without music and despite numerous attempts at levelling it doesn't stop. Does it mostly with towels but then with everything after its out of balance.  Show details

These Cycles are Perfect! – This was my second LG WD series purchase. It washes clothes really well... better than most, but I just love the cycle options in this series of front loader washers. In particular, its many relatable cycle options, the fact that you can opt for a pre-rinse, you can set your preferred temperature to most cycles and you can also set the spin… Read more

intensity, but mostly because it has a separate spin cycle.

I’ve shopped around for years trying to find a front loader with this option and haven’t found many at all. I genuinely cannot live without it, it’s very handy at times and it’s quiet and uncomplicated.

Yes, it does crawl around a bit on the spin cycle (which needed a decent, but inexpensive rubber matt beneath it) but the pro’s of this little unit far outweighs the matt needed to keep it grounded.

I highly recommend this LG unit.

Still going after 9 years of service – This machine does a good job at washing and is still going strong after 9 years except for the startup and finish chimes. The only issue with this machine is that it’s noisy, vibrate the house while on spin cycle and to stop it from walking across the laundry we had to use non-slip stair tread (self adhesive coarse sandpaper) under the feet, Show details

Great washing machine – Bought new in late 2009 and its still going strong now in late 2017. Never had a single problem with it. I'm very impressed LG and will be buying another when it finally bites the dust. Due to poor planning on my part It has been outside for the past 5 years in full sun and covered in all sort of crap and it still hasn't missed a beat! The 13… Read more

in the model number means its spins at 1300 RPM which seems to work well; the clothes are not very wet when they come out and drying time is short.

Its not perfect of course; as noted elsewhere it does water hammer when filling up, not every-time but enough that it is a characteristic. The main cycles are very slow. Over an hour. For my lifestyle it isn't an issue at all but could be annoying for others. There is always the 30 min cycle if you are in a hurry. The thing stops constantly with UE (unbalanced) flashing when I wash doonas and quilts unless it is very full which I suppose most machines will. To be fair it does take a lot to stop it when unbalanced and it will walk around crazily unless I hold or sit on it when on fast spin.

TL;DR; Very happy, will buy LG again

Shakes the house down – Have run out of patience with this thing - have had it for many years, and whilst it washes well, & is economical with water, you can only spin it on low speed lest it walk out the room & down the path. Seriously - it walked across the laundry door & I had to break-in thru the window!! Bizarre. And you cannot even open the washer door to… Read more

re-distribute the load once it is apparent that it's horrendously out of balance.

A load of towels shakes the whole house.

I can't think of anyway to resolve the problem - LG couldn't advise anything, they just offered to send a serviceman......like he's gonna help me.

Doesn't clean as good anymore and we are a retired couple which we do not have heavy soiled clothes – Have had this machine since 2011 now its doing what everybody else is complaining about...walks across the floor and it doesn't matter what you are washing and also has become very noisy, it seems all this happens straight after extended warranty. I dont thi k anything is built to last over five years.  Show details

Great value for money machine – Clothes always come out smelling clean and dirt-free, even on heavily soiled items. It has a variety of settings for different types of loads, but I usually stick to the 60-min cycle which seems to clean most medium sized loads well. It is relatively quiet - my machine sits inside my bathroom & can't be heard from outside if the door is closed.  Show details

Disappointed with life span – A major part of the machine needed fixing and replacing after only 5 years. The drain pump motor needed replacing and was not covered under warranty. We have only three people in the house, so we didn't have to wash every day. Very disappointed with inconvenience, longevity and cost of $257.  Show details

Not happy, too noisy – Disappointed with this machine. Washing comes out creased, does not smell fresh and the towels dry rock hard . Purchased this machine as it uses less water but it is not worth it. The last few months the spin cycle has gotten so noisy I can hear it from the driveway! After reading other reviews I think I may reconsider calling for a service as it appears they are not too helpful either. May as well put the money towards a new machine.  Show details

when totally empty of clothes, the service man this was normal, nothing at all inside, the service man said this was normal, I went LG there comment was we cannot tell you any thing regarding diagnostic error codes company policy.

This machine has been a 5year nightmare.

$150.00 later for parts 3 dampers and new feet plus service call $200.00= $350.00, later and it is still the same

Walking, jammed 2 towels down each side of the washer, still wanders across the floor, not happy faulty washer.

Terrible – Our clothes always smell after washing even when cleaning out the barrel. We have had service people onsite numerous times without resolution. It moves meters each wash, despite being level & on a rubber mat. LG have not provided support or replacement. Terrible machine, terrible support. I do not recommend will never buy LG again and are currently on market for s new washing machine that actually cleans our clothes.

Disappointed – With regards to cleaning clothes and being quiet, it definitely did its job and it was very user friendly and looks good too but it wasn't durable at all. It lasted only 4 years despite proper use and regular care and cleaning. I expected more from an LG being one of the trusted brands for white goods.

Terrible machine – The machine is so loud on the spin cycle that my whole house vibrates and I have now noticed a crack on my tiled floor due to the vibrations. It is advertised as "whisper quiet", but is just the opposite. I will be getting rid of it before it damages my floor any further.

Crappy Quality.. Door's Seal Chipped Off After 3 Years! – I have this washer for 3 over years. Last week, the door's rubber seal chipped off after our last washing. If I've not noticed the piece of rubber that fell on the floor, I would have continue to use the washer as usual. One could imagine the consequence if the water has leaked all over the floor... It's shocking to see that the rubber seal was… Read more

made of such poor quality. My family and myself have used some other front loaders from different brands over the years but never had rubber seal issue.

What is the point to have 10 years warranty on the motor while other parts fail so quickly? If other parts continue to break sooner than expected, it's really meaningless for the extra warranty on the motor.

I've written to them but they advised that this is not a manufacturing defect. If this is the case, their products for sure are of inferior quality. At the moment, I'm not even sure if it is worth fixing. With the call out fee of at least $145 for 1st half hour plus extra time fee plus parts, may be better to invest in other brand.

I'll never buy LG ever. This is not my 1st experience of their lousy products and lousy customers service. Lessons learned if buying multiple items never buy the same brand too soon. Ps. bought a side by side fridge together with the washer and its showing sign of aging/rust and other issues, To me LG = "Lousy Goods."

Hey LG care to comment?

not a happy person – in the 5 years that we have had our front loader, it has been a pain in the back pocket, we have replaced the barrel as it was damaged by a small metal button, replaced the faulty water leveller, no we are getting our house repaired from water damage due to the washing machine vibrating off its purposely designed cabinet onto the floor which… Read more

Terrible washing machine, would not but again – Have had it serviced 3 times, it vibrates, it's noisy and the other day it died, 10 minutes into a wash cycle- faulty motor apparently. Need to get another service technician out to look at it. Very disappointed!!!

Very Average! – My machine was very quiet when we first bought it but it would quite often leave dirt (sand-like) in the clothes! Now it is as loud as anything and even though I have cleaned the filters several times, as well as the tub, the clothes and my laundry stink!

Very disappointing – Bought this machine in 2011 and have constantly had the same problem of it trying to escape my laundry. serviceman. He checked the machine over and recommend I load less clothes and maybe check the "wet" weight of the clothes I was putting in as it may be over the 7.5kg. I did this, no difference. For the last 6 months I have reduced the spin speed from 1300 to 800. This worked for a while, until recently it's decided it's had enough and again wants to leave home.

Unfortunately it has put me off LG completely. Went shopping for a dishwasher and when the shop assistant suggested an LG I nearly ran out of the shop. Supposedly more water efficient. Won't stay put.

Best washing machine – I love this washing machine. Everythink comes out clean all the things that i used to soak & scrub come out now i dont have too!! alot longer but i do love the 30 min wash. I think the longer cycles are great for the really dirty stuff they come out clean. Saves me alot of water & i have used normal powder in it but a lesser amount when i couldnt get front loader washing powder. It hasnt missed a beat & i have had it for 3 years. There is 5 of us in this house & its used everyday at the very least 3 loads of washing. The only bad point is the seal around the door the grey rubber part needs cleaning all the time & it builds up quickly. Cleans clothes really well better then any other machine i have used The grey rubber seal around the door needs cleaning all the time if not lint & slimy stuff builds up

This is the worst! Vibrations & noisy – Purchased my washer August 2011. Immediately I had issues with movement, noise and vibrations can be felt throughout house. Don't buy it!!! – I purchased this model 2 years ago. What a mistake!!! The washing machine is damaging our clothes, towels, bed sheets etc. In January this year I had my 3rd baby and all the beautiful clothes, towels, blankets got ruined. I would not dare to use the spin higher than 400 as even that one walks the machine across the laundry! Its loud and shaky. The clothes also smell after the wash! I simply don’t get it how LG have allowed to release such a faulty product. None of my previous washing machine was caused me any problems.

Very disappointed mother of 3 Look Expensive, loud, damaged all my clothes, towels come out like a sand paper, clothes come out smelly, highly unsuitable for baby stuff

that gets heavy soiling or those with kids. Our clothes have never been so stain free.

(UPDATE - I wrote this review in January 2012. It's now January 2016. Still never had one single hiccup with this machine. 4 years on and I still feel the same way) Super clean clothes. Paint never came out of my son's kindy clothes but this machine leaves no trace of it at all! You can still add clothes after it's started and it's nice and quiet. Loads of wash options with quick and easy to use settings. High spin spead means less drying time needed so great in winter. Delicate clothes can get wrecked or look quite worn after wash so these will need to be washed in a net.
