Lloyds Auctions Questions & Answers
VerifiedI heard about the T&R Sports auctions coming up for auction on Lloyds. I placed bids on a “Brand new in the box”, “Maytronics Dolphin pool cleaner”. The box was the actual Maytronics box that the item would be packaged in if you were to buy one brand new. I was interested as I thought it would be a good back up to my current pool cleaner (same brand, different model) for when it dies, which was coming close to its end of life. So I thought, “what could go wrong”? Lloyds included a full description including the serial number of the actual unit. So I placed bids and was successful and the item arrived (completely sealed up in Lloyds tape with a consignment note) and I moved it straight to the back room for when my pool cleaner needed replacing. This was over Xmas just gone and nearly three months later my pool cleaner died. So I went to the “brand new in box Maytronics pool cleaner” I won at auction and opened the box. Straight away I could see something was not right. They’re was no pool cleaner inside the box but a blow up Mspa brand spa with plastic filter. And it had been very well used as it stank from past use. There was no way I was going to use this thing. I contacted Lloyds straight away and you guessed it. They pretty much said bad luck, you took too long. And they also insinuated that perhaps I had switched the item out as they couldn’t guarantee the integrity of the item… I went back to them with photos of some of their items up for bidding that included labelled boxes open with completely different items in them. I also found Mspa brand items up for auction. I pleaded my case again and included that it must’ve been a simple mistake by warehouse staff had placed this dodgy old pump up spa in the Maytronics pool cleaner box and put it aside, then someone else has come along and tape it up and put it on a shelf to go in the auction. Then someone else has included the description, which has come from the box (incl the serial no. Which was wrong as the s/n in on the actual machine). Simple refund I would’ve thought. No, Lloyds rejected me again. I then went Maytronics and weighed the item brand new in the box which weighed 24.3kg. The consignment note recorded 26kg (box weighed by TNT). I went back to Lloyds and you guessed it. No was their answer. So please give some thought before even considering bidding on any items.
I have kept a list/log of all phone calls and emails. The lady at Lloyds Gold Coast said I should get a refund. However you have to contact their Consumer Dept' which appears to be a ghost to frustrate you and avoid all contact. Try typing you story in to ChatGTP on your phone and it will give you a response. I will never again bid with Lloyds Auctions.
Why so many false, statements? How can anyone trust this company seems to me more scams, than the trumps, pathetic distrustful company. Have they ever been ethical in there transactions?
Why can't someone answer the phone I want to bid for something soon
Unfortunately I can't sign in
I trying to buy something can't sign in i do need to talk to someone
I still can't sign In just about to give you guy's away
Reading through the selection of complaints about Lloyds Auctions it seems to me that........ 1- They need to offer names, numbers, escalation procedures and compassionate activity to improve Customer Service levels. 2- They need to be more sharp on their shipping costs, 3rd party collection arrangements and grouping multiple purchases into one consignment. 3- They need to improve finance management arrangements especially personal interaction where contention exists. 4- They need to concentrate more on the successful BIDDER experience. Most sellars will choose to go where the largest market of buyers are located and actively competing. Sellars want to maximise their earnings. 5- Overall Lloyds is an auction house and has limited ability to manage quality of goods. They get what they are given to sell. However keen bidders will quickly walk away and tell others of their experiences. R U listening - Lloyds senior management ?- or R U happy as faceless, nameless, without contact details or involvement, responsibility. Many Companies expand too quickly and then fall just as fast.
Hi Kirk, Glenn from Wyalong Machinery. I won a Landcruiser Ute from WA at Bassendean, 9 days after i had paid the 30k the manager Gage Mackay called me to inform me that the yard had been broken into and the thieves opened the ute started it and drove it through the gates to make their getaway. Lloyds will not accept no responsibility at all under clause 8.12 however they were still contracted to load the vehicle and deliver it to West Wyalong NSW which will not happen now of course, they have a responsibility as Bailee. obviously the yard was not secure and they have not taken all due care as per consumer law Give me a call 0429722365
My sympathy with your problem which now sounds like police, legal and insurance based in nature for a progression which will take more money and time for a possible result. Overall my experience with Lloyds indicates that you type CEO Lloyds into the Google Search get the details and then just go to the top of the tree for action/response. It worked for me, but mine was a small issue in size and dollars. Sorry for your considerable loss so far and that is all I could suggest to your circumstance for resolution. Buyers beware, Caveat Emptor.

Why are there postage charges so high. Sometimes 10 times more than i costs. I live maybe 10km from lloyds carrara but often get postage charges over $50 for items that fit in an envelope and can be posted thru the standard post system
I agree with that. Challenge them about this. I do know that they will charge handling fees but sometimes the postage quote will stop me from bidding. The do, however, consolidate postage when possible but I would still challenge the postage quote if I were you.
It's obvious, isn't it, why they charge so much - it's the nature of their beast to maximize profit when customers have no choice in the matter. If you live only 10kms away you should pick up your items, not get them posted. It's worse if you get large items delivered by them as you can't even talk to anyone to arrange delivery times etc. Boils down to potluck when it arrives and whether you are home or not. Once you've bought something they have no interest in you.
How long does it take to get a stamp evaluated
Hello I just purchased a sword from Lioyds Auction on line the sword was packed so poorly that when I opened the bubble wrap at TNT the handle was cleanly snapped of .all due to the packing from Lloyds.i am so shocked that a company so big.have a no care attitude by the look at the shipping package.pls contact me From Frank Marr
I am afraid Frank, your compensation journey has just began. Contact them on the phone number on their site. Every time you talk to somebody ask for their name and department. Prepare yourself, Phone tag with these people listening to pre recorded messages on how good they are will be beyond frustrating. Don’t delete any email correspondence with them. Do not give them the courtesy of patients and understanding. After 4 weeks lodge a case with fair trading.
(Claim Ref: 31623). Why wont lloyds, give me my refund? That they said they would for items that were paid for in January of 2023. Ive had Craig Hames trying to help me and he cant even tell me why!?!? Im only asking for my $1200 back that i paid to lloyds and instead of receiving thw goods, they went and sold them to someone else, 4 months on and still no refund!? Very disappointed with a company that use to pride itself on customer service!! Who can i contact about My money? My money? My money?
Fill out the complaints form with the details on the department of fair trading website. The more people calling these situations out the more likely we are to see the appropriate action taken on their poor operation and conduct.
Thanks for that, much appreciated
Are they trustworthy with classic cars? Am thinking of selling one.
I wouldn't comment on selling or buying cars, I believe that would be unfair. My complaint was with two boxes of wine not being received and having to chase a refund. I believe it is a seperate area within the Lloyds Auction group.
Well Kerry, If you’re thinking of selling your car and it is a pile of rubbish that you can’t sell privately, then Lloyds is certainly your go to auction house. They’ll move it on to some trusting unsuspecting sucker, as they have no morals or standards to go by. Ask me how I know.
Not trustworthy on anything. The woman that owns the company is a psycho and you will risk your money and your time if you deal with them
Thanks - won't be doing anything through them. Sounds suss anyway.
If you want to advertise a written off car as in mint condition, Lloyds is the perfect place to sell your car. You could turn up without a motor in it and they will still put it to auction with your own description, their terms and condition ensure they are void of any responsibility. apparently you need to be a mechanic to recognise a water logged write off
I'm so glad i have read the reviews on this site about Lloyds Auctions,i now know to avoid these criminals like the plague, how they are still in business is amazing, just shows you how slack consumer protection is
They are very dodgy and I'm kicking myself that I didn't read the reviews prior to spending a lot of money there and then spending many, many hours claiming refunds via my credit card for artworks that Lloyds described as in excellent condition that were either fakes, damaged in transit because of poor packaging or were of poor quality in the first place. Am just doing a claim now through QCAT which is taking me many hours- grrrr
What are the fees for selling collectibles through Lloyds Auctions?
Hi Does anybody at Lloyds management read these reviews ? and not just this site your reviews are shocking on every site and all very much the same and continuous you seriously need to clean your act up and add some common sense and morels you constantly sell fake product and break copyright laws but you think its ok because you run a disclaimer fake opals fake indian jewels fake certificates i know this not just because of other reviews but from my own experience where i inspected a Cartier braclet rrp of around $7000 i checked it and weigh it and it was obviously a fake i questioned the staff and told them it was fake and breaking copyright law by selling it i was told hey could sell what ever they want and totally ignored . so i rang Cartier aus sent them the link and it was gone from the auction a few days later so come on guys make some changes i do intend to follow this in more detail and will make a collection of reviews that complain about fake product and practices Regards Mark
I bought some gemstones of Lloyds, they have crazy valuations from "gemlabs australia" and i only paind a fraction of these valuations. Was just wondering if they are legit or not?
im pretty sure you will find gem labs aus is actually in India and all their so called gems are fake or manufactured so again fake Lloyds just dont care i just read another review that they sold fake opals stated as lighting ridge with certificates and the buyers experts confirmed them as fakes
Oh no ! I wish I read this post before I parted with my money!
What auction is the tv, washing ,machine, fridges at
What percentage do Lloyds charge for a relisting fee to re sell a product. I am regrettably unable to take the item i won.
Hw long before you ultimately receive your purchase??... Is there any comeback or refund if the delay in receiving your goods is unreasonable amount of time... ?? would love to know this answer
Hi Jenny, I had received my car after 2 and half week from Lloyds. No Refunds, i called so many times, every time i called the manager, he told me he will discuss with the main manager and get back to me to compensate After i spend all the money and sent them invoice and everything, he didn't bother calling back, when i tried to call back he was like "our main manager saying, its an auction car we are liable for anything, not even any known issues ". Any auction house tell you /write in the description what known issues are with the car if it can be seen from your eyes!
They are just a bunch of SCAMs!
We are still waiting for our product after 4-5 weeks. their service is absolutely APPALLING, and same as you, i have found, they are very hard to contact....... appreciate your answer and i am glad you received your goods... best wishes
How can Lloyds advertise Jewellery with "Retail Replacement Valuations" Sell the Jewellery which in my case was damaged (CRACKED DIAMONDS) which makes them worthless yet not mention to the buyers that the items are actually damaged (you can actually see this with the naked eye. It simply amounts to FRAUD ! Does Lloyds treat all customers this way by refusing refunds ? I beleive i have very good legal case yet Lloyds refuses to refund my money over $4000 for selling me Jewellery that is WORTHLESS !
I have just experienced a smilar issue with over $5,000 of "gemstones". I have been in touch with the National Council of Jewellery Valuers and with their help am proceeding with a claim against LLoyds. If you would like to know more or join me in my claim I have a post on my Facebook - lisa.grant.14
Hi Lisa, I am sorry to hear about what you have expeienced with these people, They knowingly auction off Jewellery and other items that are damaged or faulty without disclosing it before or during the auction process, The vendors selling these items through Lloyds are also aware of this and use Lloyds for this purpose but Lloyds hides behind the fact its an "Auction house" and unfortunatley customers such as you are me are not actually protected under consumer law, What i dont understand about this company Lloyds is that it seems they can still operate like this. The more people that are made aware of this company and the way they do business the better it will be. One only has to look at Google reviews and other reviews to tell you to stay well clear of Lloyds Auctions. I will try and contact you through facebook.
ust wondering how the postage can jump from 19.95 to 89.42 for item 302 and 325 in about 2 minutes in the freaky friday auction in SA. How is it possible for it to cost 89.94 to send 2 pairs of headphones? thanks
Thats an easy one they are trying to mess you over, no question about it. Report it to the ACCC. You buy an item and they mess you over on the freight or postage. They need a gaol cell after bankrupcy.
