Terrible – I signed the contract with them. Before the deposit their agent advised me it’s gonna take 6 months (max 9 months) to site start. After 4 weeks I was informed it can take up 24 months to start work. I was like after 12-18 months the house prices might get doubled? They never listened. So please be careful they don’t mean what they say. Can’t even get my deposit back. Save your $$$ choose some other builder. Show details

Vey Impressed with the quality of workmanship – My new home is now complete, I have very impressed with the building process and quality of workmanship. Longridge communicated with me at every stage and offer suggestions and solutions during the build. Very helpful staff from the initial planning to selection of materials and colour schemes. All the tradesman were very friendly and helpful.… Read more

Hand Over was easy and the house was cleaned. I have been in my house 3 months and have had no problems at all.

Appaling – If you want your house built this century, I strongly recommend you choose another builder. I have lost count of the amount of times we have had promised deadlines pushed back for various reasons. The sheer incompetence of the office staff is bewildering..documents that personally get handed in multiple times can't be found, incorrect pricing on… Read more

contracts, products listed in contracts that were never discussed & a complete disconnect between the sales consultant & anyone else handling the build paperwork not to mention the non-existant communication from the office to the client regarding the property.

For the money you pay, I would have expected some level of communication and service.

Extremely poor service once contract was signed – Our sales person was excellent and based on his attentive service we signed up with Longridge. As per many of the other poor reviews on here, post signing the contract there was delay after delay after delay. The pre-build took forever and then the actual build took double the time they had promised. They were disorganised, the project manager… Read more

was never on site, etc, etc. We were instructing carpenters and trades what to do. I was the project manager half the time. Our actual build took almost 12 months and was only meant to be 4-6months. Then they would not hand-over unless we paid the final $ owing and we listed the defects on the hand-over contract. Now over 6 months have past and the defects have still not been fixed. Our frustration with Longridge has boiled over and forced me to write my first ever online review. On top of all this - we find out 3 months ago they built on our neighbour's land....so now we have to try to remedy this as well as getting them to finish the defects on our house. We have called and email and called and emailed with little or no response. I honestly do not know how they stay in business.

Communication problems – I intend to write an ongoing review of this our first ever new build so watch this space. We had a good start with our sales person, easy to talk to - seemingly all was going well, selections complete, Council application all came through in good time. According to N. , all was in order and running on time. His time frame indicated that the… Read more

build would start in January. But from then on there was a 6-7 week where we were just dropped, left in the dark. No one called to tell us what next, how the process was going and we did not have just one person to relate to. Various ones at the Longridge office passed us from one to another resulting in confusion. Eventually we were introduced to another person who would assist us, R. Some of the N instructions were not forwarded on to R and we had to re hash some matters. Another time frame for the build was impressed on us... possilbly 2-3 months later than we had been told by N.due to delays caused by? This new time frame is possibly now going be over well 12 month period from beginning to end. Longridge had said the build would be under 12 months. Miscommunications within the company are now causing a delays. Update will follow....

Professional, flexible, quality builders – We were very impressed with the high quality of workmanship throughout our build. The supervisors communicated with us regularly and made us feel included in the process. From the start of design planning Longridge were flexible and accommodating to our requests. The build happened seamlessly, within budget and timeframes. We will use them again and highly recommend them to others! Quality trades, professional service,

Happy Customers – Building a previous house we had nothing but problems and time delays. When we decided to build again we heard good reports about Long ridge Homes. We received excellent customer service and advice from start to beyond finish and we made many modifications to our design that Long ridge were happy to accommodate. Our building supervisor was very… Read more

organised and efficient and kept us updated at all times via phone calls and a web site, resulting in us knowing exactly what stage the construction was at and what was booked in next.

We even moved in ahead of schedule. We are very happy with the quality of the construction and the high quality fixtures and fittings. To ensure we could get polished concrete floors Longridge were happy to work with Arrunga Flooring during the pouring of the slab and at various stages nearing completion of the build. Considering we adapted the design by adding sliding doors, different windows in all bedrooms, an alfresco entertaining area under the main roof and many other changes, the construction ran smoothly and without any problems, the complete opposite to the last house we built. The home is everything we were after. Light, large bedrooms, very comfortable in all weather conditions, quality fixtures and fittings

A Great Stress Free Experience – We went to look at the Longridge show home at Blackwood on several occasions before deciding on who we where going to build with. options were very 'pushy' and even quite intimidating. [name removed] never put any pressure on us, but at the same was interested in helping us. He has good product knowledge and although we had been told by other sales agents it would be hard to find what we were looking for to fit our block, [name removed] immediately showed us the perfect house that he assured us would fit, and which we have gone ahead and built.

[name removed] our first supervisor who set up a website so we could get an idea of where our build was at, was really great. [name removed] took over from Jeremy when he left and he was also excellent.

The house took approximately 26 weeks to build, we are extremely happy with the end result. Longridge have a high quality finish, which many other companies expect you to pay more for.

Overall we are very happy and my Sister has just signed to build with Longridge after seeing our home. No issues at all, good value for money and quality finish. Council approval took ages, but this was no fault of Longridge

was fine but was hampered by a couple of supervisor changes. Supervisor was good, but had a lot on his plate. Came in on time. Already stated, house is energy efficient, has lovely clean lines Had an en-suite roof leak during the build, as its hard to look into a flat roof, hope all has been fixed. Tiler did a very average job and some rectification was required

Great experience - love our new extension and would recommend to family and friends – We did a large extension with Longridge. We were very impressed with the design. construction took 9mths for a pretty big (360m2), complicated house which we thought was good. our supervisor was a bit blunt, but talked to us regularly and seemed to have the tradesmen organised. we are happy with the end quality and have had lots of compliments on the home their design work for our block was very good - we have got lots of natural light and airflow, like we wanted approvals took a long time, but not really the builders fault. we haven't found any faults yet, but have just moved in

Terrible – Where do i start..Now at the 25 month since signing stage and still not finished. The initial approvals took forever. Weeks between trades doing work, then turning up for a day and disappearing for weeks again. Getting near the end now and what a shoddy job they've done. Man-hole has mysteriously been put in a bedroom for some unknown reason!!… Read more

The hebel above the sliding doors looks like its been cut by a three year old using blunt scissors, the exterior paint job is ordinary, the joints between the hebel look shocking, they couldn't even follow the schedule and install the correct kitchen cupboards..Basically they make it up as they go along. A terrible experience, never again. Go with someone else and save yourself the hassle. I dont even care about this house anymore. Design and overall look Delays delays delays...shoddy workmanship

Excellent – So far I am happy to report that building with Longridge Homes has been an excellent experience. Our site supervisor has kept us constantly updated, and meets us on site regularly. with an excellent attention to detail. We've been on site for 3 months and everything is going to the plan which our site supervisor gave initially. 5 months total build time - very impressive for such a large single-storey house. Clearly they have addressed many of the problems referred to in some of the older reviews. Excellent use of space and light, modern design, fitted on block well. There could have been more communication from their office during the pre-construction process.

Bad – They make themselves out to be a boutique builder, but they are nothing more than a large scale project builder with questionable workmanship. Pay more and go with Medallion if you want quality. Helpful sales staff, good looking product Be very wary of this builder! They are very slow to build with numerous delays and wait times for tradesmen. Do… Read more

not expect them to build you a house from slab to handover in under a year. Also, check everything before handover and double check at handover as that is the only time that defects will be acknowledged and action taken to fix it. There is no 3 month check so if you have any problems with workmanship after this time, it will likely not get fixed as they do not care once they have final payment.

Terrible – With only one supervisor to cover all of Adelaide, it is no surprise that the build process is extremely slow. We've experienced an average wait of at least 3 to 4 weeks between trades, and have waited as long as 6 and 8 weeks on several occasions. This works out to over 12 months of construction, not to mention the extensive delays on their… Read more

behalf before construction(not including building approvals), stretching this project out to over 2 years. The sales staff said that the build process is very fast and we would be in our house within 14 months from initial sign up. They are still giving this estimate today, even though we are one of many of their clients in this situation. It's extremely frustrating to see other builders building similar houses from start to finish in the time where only a few minor jobs have been done to our house. The build time written in the contract means nothing, as they can, and will take as long as they need without providing any explanation or notice. Talking to management about the situation is a waste of time, "I understand your situation, and how difficult it is, we are doing everything we can to get your house finished. It's in everyones best interest". But they really don't care.

Workman ship is poor, and is less than what you would expect from a budget builder.

If you want a quality house, factor in how much money you will loose while you wait for Longridge to build your house, and spend that bit extra and go with a better builder. Longridge have cost us tens of thousands of dollars in extra rent, interest and so on while we wait. Never again. Great looking product Building houses seems to be something that Longridge do in their spare time.

Terrible – Biggest mistake building with Longridge - have had issues right from the start - could write a book on the problems we had during construction - biggest problem is getting in touch with someone from Longridge. course I never saw them again once I handed over the money. Now the house is leaking water when it rains but they are impossible to contact - no one is available, always busy, always promise to call you back but never do - I'm surprised these people still have a builders license and are still in business. Interesting designs - unique look, quite a good price too. Where do I start?

Terrible – I cannot stress this any more...dont go with this "builder" Poor customer service Poor result let me think about that Don't go with this builder! most stressful time of my life! Terrible – "You'll be in your house in about 12 to 14 months from when you sign up." "Our construction times are extremely quick because we use hebel." joke. Our entire approval process took one month, yet here we are seventeen months after sign up, with the exterior work now at a stage where work can start inside. On average there is about 2 to 3 weeks wait between trades doing their job, and even then they cant get it right.

Our decision to build with Longridge has been our biggest disappointment, and most costly mistake. Nice looking houses Their process is so slow it's pathetic

Terrible – We would not recommend building with this company to anyone, but having said that businesses grow, change, develop everyday. we were involved in a time of much change and chaos but having said that I still wouldn't go back! walling system/rendered finish. We were able to move internal walls, the quality fittings n appliances are lovely...but they can be achieved with any builder. They have come back to correct the issues we have had but not without constant chasing... WHERE DO WE START!!! A 12 month project took 20 months for a start, 4 supervisors later was a nightmare. Sales was good but lots of errors on variations then they wanted money for this, lack of communication. If we weren't on sight half the time there would have been more delays in all the mistakes going on. Workmanship not at all up to their reputable standard, timber doors had to be replaced due to cracking from the time they were exposed in the weather and that took ages. The general finishing touches messy and careless damage. Paint work thin and they didn't even sand the timber back beforehand, all the plumbing was not compliant on 2 occasions and had to be redone, the sash windows leak, the box gutters bang...very loudly and don't drain, we have had several leaks in en-suite and ceiling, the tiling job was average. We were due hand over in March or April but took until Aug in this time only a few jobs needed doing...Clearly the contractors are not getting paid their worth for all this to happen, all the money goes to the builder and that's all they care about!! Most of the fix up jobs have left a messy touch up appearance to the house it was like we were renovating before we had moved in, and maintenance is still continuing regularly 2 years later. There is lots more but not enough time....

Good – We have built before but not with Longridge and have no complaints with them. They are not a small builder so probably choose another builder if you want a boutique experience. their new building supervisor may have fixed all the timing issues and site problems. We will assess and review again at the end of the project. Chose Longridge Homes for their open light filled designs. Could not find a similar well designed home from other builders we visited. It was hard to go past their displays and the openness of their pricing. There seemed to be no hidden costs and at this stage we haven't had any. Council approvals took a lot longer than we expected. We have been building now for 2 months and all seems to be going ok. They are not super fast but we dont seem to be having the delays that other reviewers have mentioned. Our building supervisor is not too communicative but he is getting the job done.

Good – We are finally in our Longridge home and while it took longer than we expected overall we had a good experience. it to a builder he said it was going to be 650k to build! Not having that type of money we looked around for alternatives and finally settled on Longridge because of their plans. We went with something similar to Berkeley 285. Once we made the decision to go with a project home I had to settle for a lot of the finishes that were cheaper than I wanted. In the end we have our new house and once I let go of the architects plans it made it easier to deal with the Longridge stuff. And yes it was slow, slower than I thought and some things I wanted done differently but in the end was the price that sold us. Good designs that are light and look like an architects without the price took a lot longer than I thought
