A 2013 MacPro (completely out of any parts or support by Apple) was checked, diagnosed, and provided in 3 days complete with careful advice as to how to diagnose and correct if the issue recurred for their standard diagnostic fee of $150. It would be difficult to improve on the promptitude, efficiency, or courtesy of this service of a totally outdated Apple MacPro “trashcan”

Terrible customer service. They don't even remotely aim to resolve matters and instead just point out small technicalities s to why you're wrong. I ordered two items. The checkout did mention lead times on those items. One shipped in 1-3 days and the other in 1-2 weeks. I paid for expedited delivery, which I think any reasonable person would… Read more

assume would result in the first item, with its 1-3 days shipping time, to be sent within that shipping time... instead they lumped them both together and now I have to wait two weeks for something I reasonably expected to be put into the post ASAP having paid $22 for the privilege.

Instead of trying to resolve the matter, [Name Removed] from customer service basically replied, "LOL :)" and that was that. Good job, [Name Removed]. Just casually out there impacting businesses with crazy levels of bad customer service.

No matter. It was only a $2,000 order with a vendor I was told offered good service.

I wouldn't recommend buying this because it is an Apple Magic Mouse 2 so it is a ripoff for the price. If you need an Apple Magic Mouse (USB‑C) — White Multi-Touch Surface I would recommend buying from somewhere else instead from these clowns who like to take your money without caring about anybody else just themselves. Show details

Missleading in a few ways – I've had a generally positive experience with MacFixit, finding their service to be reliable across several purchases. However, my acquisition of an OWC Thunderbay revealed a notable oversight in the product description. It fails to mention that to utilise the Hardware Raid's full functionality, SoftRaid is required. While SoftRaid is included… Read more

free for the initial three years, continued use thereafter incurs a fee of AU$220 for the first year, followed by AU$120 annually. The complimentary version of SoftRaid limits functionality severely, only permitting the mounting of software without the capability to create new Raids, which essentially defeats the purpose of having a Raid system.

Furthermore, considering that OWC is based in the US, all prices are listed in US dollars. This pricing structure can be prohibitively expensive for Australian consumers, making the omission of these details from the product description seem deceptive.

My disappointment was compounded by MacFixit's apparent policy of publishing only positive reviews on their website, as my attempts to share this issue have been consistently overlooked.

Prospective buyers should be aware of the total cost of ownership for any OWC device, which, over a 10-year lifespan, could nearly double the initial purchase price. This aspect, combined with the restrictions on review transparency, suggests a need for potential customers to approach with caution and to consider the long-term implications of their investment.

Good Service – Recently Purchased 2.0TB OWC Aura P12 Pro PCIe 3.0 NVMe M.2 2280 & OWC Envoy Express Thunderbolt 3 Bus-Powered Enclosure for use on 2020 iMac 27, the 500Gb internal SSD is surfaced mounted to the logic board is Not Serviceable). The OWC product allowed the increase of storage space with out having to disassemble the iMac 27”. The OWC Envoy… Read more

Express worked as described right out of the box. The faster data transfer speeds with no noise & latency.

Conventional external USB 3.1 and Thunderbolt Desktop HDD’s have latency when they wake & power up, and generate Low frequency humming. The Advantages of the OWC Envoy Express are easy to assemble, Discreet, Quite efficient operation, no messy power supplies & cables. Initially Final Cut Pro could not export data to the Envoy Express, Solution was in Finder, click on device info and change the Administration Permission Parameters. My first impression was the OWC product seemed costly in caparison to other similar type devices. In Conclusion the OWC Envoy Express has far more benefits and is good value for your money. NB. My overall experiences with Macfixit Australia has been very positive, with excellent prompt customer service in resolving any problems with products and purchases. I would shop with them again.

2 TB OWC Aura Pro X2 SSD for iMac2013 onwards – Staff at Macfixit Australia were great and the 2 TB OWC Aura Pro X2 SSD (+ OWC replacement kit) I purchased for my mid-2017 iMac was awesome. Best technology solution since sliced bread – A customer of Macfixit for their Voyager S3 docking stations I have much archived data stored on SATA disks filed away in a drawer. When I saw an offer of the 2 pack anti static "NewerTech StoraDrive stackable cases for all 3.3 hard drives" for sale I realised this was an answer for the safe storage of my archived data. Perfect Customer Service and Advice – The MacFixit team were really excellent and went out of their way to help me. Before it died, I had bought extra memory and an SSD flash card upgrade module for my 2017 iMac. Having then bought a secondhand 2019 iMac as a replacement I found the memory and SSD were incompatible. Though it was way past their max return time for the RAM and SSD,… Read more

MacFixit were totally understanding and agreed to give me a store credit (naturally pending the return of unopened goods).

They were also extremely helpful with recommending the correct replacement parts for the 2019 iMac. Everything was smooth sailing with patience and great customer support.

The online store was easy to navigate and find everything I needed.

The online videos linked via their website provided very detailed instructions. Pulling the iMac apart, changing the memory and replacing HDD with SSD, then reassembling was a breeze. (I must add that I am an engineer so please do understand that when they say this is an advanced procedure, it certainly is and is not for the faint-hearted and does need ESD precautions.)

The quality of products is first class. The iMac is like a "new beast" and now flies.

Far the best online shop to buy stuff for your Mac – I must admit that the service and products of Macfixit surprise me every time I place an order. I am always afraid of ordering the wrong part. A short discussion with a very nice and competent salesman and I get directly the right reference of the part I need. I live far away in the bush and for a lot of things I'm forced to do my shopping… Read more

through the net.... And it's often a nightmare to come across incompetent people, salesmen who often don't have much respect for the customer and even more often people who don't really know their products. And with these people I sometimes lose hours to find what I need. With Macfixit, it's a real pleasure. In a few seconds I have the right information, the right advice. They are people who know how to work and who are efficient. The other pleasure is to receive the package. A perfect packaging. A delivery time faster than what was announced. My last package was a battery for my Mac. I was ecstatic at the beauty of the packaging. A work of art. Great design. It's only a detail but it shows the concern that Macfixit has for its customers. I like the companies that have this philosophy. This is far too rare in Australia. And in the package was a perfect instruction manual, the right screwdrivers and more than enough replacement parts to do the job. They don't have tens of thousands of products but their range is perfect.

Replacement of the trackpad in a 2011 13" MacBook Pro – My MacBook Pro may be getting on in years, but it can nominally do everything that I want of it as well as my new Pro. Over the years I have upgraded to a 2T SSD, this change was worth it alone in processing speeds, and given it 8G of RAM. However, the track pad had become inconsistent in the "click" function. Still tracked well but often would… Read more

not respond to the press command. After viewing a YouTube video showing how straightforward the replacement was, I went ahead and found one listed by Macfixit at a reasonable price. (I'd already taken it out and given it a clean around the edges hoping that this may restore the compression reaction.)(I do suggest that anyone venturing into any Apple machine to view a few YouTube videos as interconnector clamps used between boards are interesting and need care to get them to open and close correctly. The new track pad from Macfixit arrived well within my expected time frame (regional Queensland). The opening, removal of old trackpad and installing the new one was quick and easy. (Less than 10 minutes from shut down to fully on again.) Points for new comers, whilst the case screws are very small Phillips heads, the battery screws (needs to come out to access underside) uses small trilobe screws (whilst you can "force feed" these screws with small flat screw drivers, this is not ideal and does damage the screw head if future removal is ever required). For perfect panel alignment, I suggest placing a piece of card along the front section of the keyboard that the new touch pad will rest against as you secure the screws. This 13" Pro continues to work very well for me and thanks to Macfixit, it'll be my every day laptop for quite a while yet. Thanks Macfixit.

No problems - Once I got a new cable – I purchased an OWC Raid Hard drive. It arrive in a timely manner as advised, but did not work initially, until I found I had a faulty Thunderbolt cable (not MacFixIt's cable). all worked perfectly once I installed a new cable. Not trouble since and the noise is not an issue as some reviews said. Show details

Really happy with the service! – I purchased a new battery for my old 2012 Macbook Pro. As this was my first try at replacing a battery by myself, I really appreciated the little tools and explicit instructions that came with the product. This made my task much easier than expected. Thank you MacFixit!

Be warned – I won’t buy here again. A purchased a simple $24:99 cable. They charged my bank account $39:89! Postage was apparently $9:90. I have checked with Aus Post and they are saying it would cost $2 at most. The rest is hidden charges (otherwise known as Profit). I asked for a call back and sent a message but they don’t reply. Be careful or they’ll fleece you for extra money.

Matias Wired Aluminum Keyboard for Mac - Silver (UPDATE lettering rubs off) – Bought this keyboard to my dying Apple keyboard. I must admit it looks and feels like an Apple wired keyboard. It seems to be working in the short time I've had it, so I can't comment on it's longer term quality. If it breaks, I would hope Macfixit will replace or refund and stand behind their product quality. UPDATE - around 6 months into… Read more

ownership, various keys on the left side of the keyboard lost their lettering and now I cannot read those keys. Probably poor quality ink used on the lettering. Buyer beware!

Delivery should not be this annoying – Shipment is running weeks late. The service rep tells me that I should have read the disclaimers better. They have the main item in stock, but they're waiting on one of the other items, so they plan to just delay the main item by weeks to save themselves a few dollars of extra shipping costs needed to split the delivery up. But then apparently… Read more

they no longer have the main item in stock, so they seem to have now given it to someone else? No idea what these jokers are up to. I've bought from them before so I suspect the parcel will show up, eventually, but no idea when.

Extremely well designed, and fast: the OWC USB-C Travel Dock – One of my Macs is a 2019 MacBook Pro. It only has four USB C ports. I see that the new models have all the old ports... sometimes minimalist design is stupid design. And so to the dock: The OWC Dock does exactly what it's supposed to do; it looks good; and has all the ports I need for daily work. I will probably buy the other dock (the same ports,… Read more

A better keyboard than a Mac? – I recently purchased a Satechi brand Slim X2 backlit keyboard and to say that I am happy with it is an understatement. It has all the features that I need and with the numeral keyboard I no longer have to go to the top of the keyboard as I did on my Apple to use the numbers. Cheaper than an Apple keyboard and the quality is right up there. Easy to set up and finger light keys make it so easy to type. Show details
