We had to call and email many many times to get an answer. They did not even give us an invoice without us chasing them. They pushed us and diverted us to other parts of their company to avoid dealing with us. They then dug in and basically said, our costs are our costs - even through they charged us an extra few hundred dollars just to clean 2 tiny, minor stains which took them about 2 minutes in total. The job itself was average, but acceptable - and the cleaner himself was a decent enough guy. But the aftercare service and customer service was terrible and it was obvious they were avoiding the real issues. If I had more time and energy, I would report them to Consumer Affairs. PLEASE BE AWARE that this very unsatisfactory company is called MASTER CLEANERS although they trade under so many different (generic) names it is almost impossible to know which company they are. NOTE: They are totally distinct to another reputable company called "MASTER CLEANERS AUSTRALIA", who seem to be a trustworthy, reputable company with good communication and good customer service. I actually thought that was the company I had hired but it appears this very ordinary company are benefiting from having the same name to one of their competent competitors. Make sure you do not get them confused like I did. If you read the litany of one star reviews they have here, I think you will have your answer. Terrible experience with this company. Got a quote to get two bedrooms carpet steam cleaned for $140. Our carpets were lightly soiled. argumentative and rude, refusing to cancel my appointment - telling me they could come in the next hour. I said I didn't want that. She then proceeded to tell me I needed to pay a $120 cancellation fee!!!!! I was transferred to the accounts department and I told them I refused to pay based on the fact I was never told there was a cancellation fee let alone more than 48 hours before the call out - not even a clean!! just a call out for a quote!!! I was put on hold for a few minutes, then I was told that I didn't have to pay the cancellation fee and that my appointment was cancelled.... I'm glad I went with my gut and decided to cancel.

Wish I read the reviews. This company not only are unprofessional - arrived in a private vehicle, no uniform or identification of any sorts. I had to ask who he was. looked like it had been rented from Bunnings. During the job, he noticed the machine leaking and asked me for a towel. I saw liquid leaking from two separate spots and watched him place the towel underneath—clearly trying to contain the leak. That liquid turned out to be waste water from the machine’s tank, and it left permanent stains on the carpet.

I raised the issue immediately while the technician was still onsite. He called his company, and I spoke with them directly to explain what had happened. They asked to speak with him, and he then attempted to clean the stain. It didn't look like it had come out but he said to wait until it dries. Once the carpet dried and the damage was fully visible, I lodged a formal complaint. Both the area we asked him to treat and the area where the machine was leaking was left with a strange red tinge. But the worst was the area where the machine was leaking waste. That’s when the company began giving me the runaround.

First, they claimed their machines are inspected before and after every job and refused to offer compensation. Then they said the technician had asked for a towel to wipe vomit off the wheel—and that this somehow caused the stain. I shared a video showing the layout of the room, clearly proving that explanation was impossible based on the location of the vomit, the bedroom entrance, and where the machine was positioned. In reality, the vomit had already been treated before the technician arrived. We had removed what we could, blotted the area with water, and covered it with bicarb soda. It was dry by the time he got there, and there was no reason for the machine to be wheeled over that area—it was at the opposite end of the bedroom suite from the entrance. Their claim simply doesn’t hold up under scrutiny.

Next, they changed their story again, saying the stain came from something in our home that the machine rolled over. When I pointed out that even if that were true, their technician and equipment were still responsible, they shifted the story a third time—claiming the vomit was in two separate locations. Apparently, vomit now has wings and can fly two metres from a small patch outside the bathroom to land in two perfectly round, saturated spots. Who would’ve thought!

We ended up hiring a certified wool carpet cleaner to try and repair the damage. Wool requires very specific care—pH-balanced products, thorough rinsing, and an acid spray to restore its natural state. The original technician clearly had no understanding of this. While the expert cleaner was able to reduce some of the damage caused by the cleaning products, the stain from the leaking machine remains visible.

To make matters worse, the company operates under multiple names, Master Cleaner, Target Cleaners, and Top Cleaning Master, all using identical websites with different branding. It’s misleading and designed to appear like separate businesses.

Throughout the complaint process, I dealt with someone named Jason, who told me, “We don’t believe customers, we don’t believe our employees, we only believe the facts given in emails.” That in itself it absurd. I explained that I have shared all the before-and-after photos and videos clearly showing what happened. If the machine wasn’t faulty, why didn’t the technician deny the leak when I called the company during the job? Instead, he tried to clean the stain, which only confirms the issue.

This company was careless, dishonest, and completely unprofessional. I strongly advise others to avoid their services and any affiliated brands. They take no responsibility for their mistakes and show no regard for customer care.

This company damaged my stairs with their equipment and their response was ‘we don’t remember doing it’. Good story, that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen when the tech banged his machine on every stair taking it up. I was also told ‘you should have discussed it with the tech on the day’. home alone with our 6-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son. She explained the cancellation and showed him the message, but he refused to accept it, became forceful and intimidating, and pressured her until she let him inside. She felt unsafe and trapped.

He then increased the price by $50 on the spot.

When I arrived home and calmly confronted him, I informed him his actions were bordering on coercion and intimidation, and that I’d be reporting him to the police. I paid him to de-escalate the situation and told him to leave immediately.

Shortly after, I received three separate phone calls from various supposed “cleaning companies,” all demanding call-out fees for jobs my wife never booked. When I refused, I was insulted and harassed over the phone.

We’ve since found multiple other reviews from women describing similar behavior from this company intimidation, pressure tactics, showing up uninvited, and suspicious follow-up calls.

We’ve filed a report with the police and will be forwarding footage and full documentation to NSW Fair Trading.

To any woman booking a cleaner avoid Master Cleaner at all costs. If you're home alone, do not let them in. This is not just bad business, it’s predatory.

cleaning as i had worried about dust mites in my new home. The next day I was booked in, they arrived to meet my husband at home they told him they thought a dust mites treatment spray was best rather than carpet cleaning and made a point of how they would have to return the next day if they did the carpets. They sprayed the parameters of each room which did absolutely nothing. When I contacted them to ask they come back and do the full job they made out that my husband was the one who asked for a different job, not that their operator had suggested doing this. They made us pay the full quoted price, which with hindsight we shouldn’t have done. We have literally thrown money away. When making a complaint they took their time to reply, much to my surprise given how eager they were that I had several numbers calling on my enquiry day!

too. It took him about 10-15 minutes to steam clean the carpet and he left. Again, I helped take his equipment back to his car and again he kept sighing. I don’t know why. He told us it’ll be dry in about 3-4 hours. We checked the room over 24 hours later and the carpet was saturated. Also, it doesn’t seem like it’s any cleaner. Don’t use this company.

Initial check, some spots of the couch are not even wet, also they left the floor area and the rug where the couch is sitting soaking wet with their equipment.

Today, the sofa just smelt the same. Nothing different only additional smell from the chem they sprayed.

I am unwell and alone at the house so did not push to let them re-do it again.

I also wish I had read this comments prior to enganging with them. Their website does not allow you to write a feedback or review.

If I could give 0 star I would. I had booked an appointment and then decided to look at the reviews. After seeing how many bad experiences there were I had decided to ultimately cancel the appointment as it was over $200 and could not waste it When on the phone I told him the same thing on much nicer words and was told to “get lost”.
