Problem transferring iPhone 8 to 13. Ip 8 does not support eSIM transfer. I rang mate and spoke Laurent. He gave me the option of waiting for a new SIM (the iPhone 8 SIM is marginally bigger than the 13, see image) or initiate a eSIM installation. He guided me through the process and waited till I was confident with the method. Show reply

Michelle answered my call and was so very patient with a 77 year old lady, whose knowledge not great on mobiles. I was worried at data warning and being unable to send photos to anyone. Michelle solved both issues, an amazing asset to Mate. Thanks, Michelle. Show reply
Great - until you leave for a better deal. My account was in credit when I moved my internet and 2 mobile services to a better deal. My account was then in credit which will not be refunded, instead they keep the money in case I ever return, but they also close the self-care portal to ensure you cant adda service to the account in the future.
By far the worst telco experience I've ever had. 2 hours of chat online to be shunted off finally to a rude manager called "[Name Removed]" that could have solved the problem in 5 minutes after asking for higher help for an hour. I quite clearly proved to them their verification software is bugged - would pass one document (ID) then not the other and vice-versa after trying for 30mins. So disappointing. Not mates at all. Follow-up · Having phoned and emailed support at Mate, the response was really disappointing and not up to standard that is available at other telcos. I changed telcos for mobile, mate did not respond or interact; the internet will be changed next, anticipating any future issues, cos there's no backup or support

I contacted Mate over intermittent network issues. Despite waiting 25 minutes for my call to be answered, I spoke with Cameron who was very courteous and helpful. Unfortunately the issue is with Telsra unfortunately nothing Mate could rectify. I was very happy with the service and information provided by Cameron. Call wait times could be better. Got charged a late fee when their system failed to take money from an account with more than enough money. Then when i called they tried to gaslight me into paying a late fee, and convince me nothing was wrong with their system. helpless and Mate customer service hours are very limited . The online portal is still showing my mobile still not activated and is still progressing . I don’t understand why they need more than a month to switch service. And also internet services are also so great and keeps dropping

No change in service quality since switching from Telstra to Mate. Internet between Cardiff (Newcastle) to Epping (Sydney) along the Train corridor is rubbish but it was also with Telecom. Show reply
I love my new Mate NBN Internet and Mobile bundle. Since I've joined Mate I've had full coverage on my mobile phone, including calls to my sister overseas and best of all my home internet has not dropped out on me once!! A genuine case of 'you get what you pay for'. Initially I had issues porting in my service, where my activation code was not sent to me. After calling earlier in the day to verify my identity, I then had to call Mate's tech support again to be provisioned a new activation code. Not the end of the world, but far from seamless. on the Telstra Wholesale Network provided me, what I would consider, below par service within metro Melbourne. Having ported from Telstra, I noticed a lot of service blackholes which didn't exist on the full network. This was made more evident inside buildings, where the connection was often not strong enough for anything more than sending a text message. Being on the wholesale network also meant my device was deprioritised during times of high demand - the best example of this being at an AFL preliminary final where my device was on SOS only at half time. Another detractor is the lack of Live Voicemail service, which many other budget-friendly providers offer. This is all disappointing given I expected reduced service rurally, but certainly not in the Melbourne CBD and in the broader metro area.

I initially bought another provider's connection and upon moving in my internet is not working at all for two days. So I decided to switch back to Mate which I used for a few years with no issue. He also tried to switch on the internet on this Saturday that I called. He helped to check my router set up and helped me to reset my router password. The sales team member went above my expectation and successfully restored my internet today, a Saturday. Prior to this switch, I called the other provider for hours in the morning without any success in getting hold of anyone. I really appreciate Mate team in this occasion. Thank you. Pauline

MATE Staff extremely helpful during install It would appear however that everyone needs constant validation where as a service provider I believe that you should know that your services is good to excellent rather than send annoying surveys to validate standard experience. Show reply

able to talk to someone locally and fast delivery of my sim also seem-less transition of porting my phone number over the only reason I have taken off a star is cause the app is not really up to scratch when it comes to switching different plans with Mate had to do it via the self care portal but I’m sure it will get fixed soon. But other than that I would recommend people to give them a red hot go if your sick and tired of the big telcos.

seamless streaming & never consider if I’m using too much data, My Mate mobile phone service was easy to connect & my number was ported over from my previous provider without missing a beat. Why didn’t I do this ages ago ? Oh yeah & I’m saving money at about $29 a month! Found myself a new MATE for sure !
