faulty sim. poor customer service
Sim card was faulty. Team leader told me to call back on a Sunday (knowing they are not open), had to wait a week with no phone while new sim sent. Missed on call jobs for work, had to buy a new pre paid sim. For all this they give you a $5 discount. Asked for the name and staff number of the billing employee resolving the matter and they stopped replying. Avoid. #notmymate. case number 101249477.

Realiable, strong signal for the price I pay for. Down load speet is normally fast through out the day. We can use four devices at the same time with mo problem.
Friendly and uncomplicated service.
Fully satisfied - no dropouts. Easy to startup and arrange monthly payments. I use when not home as I live in a remote area not covered by mobile towers. Unfortunately the Telstra-based SIM card does not allow SIM-to-WiFi.
Too many issues
I have had trouble sending screenshots via text. Mate says there’s an image size limit. This is too limiting for something as basic as images of my screen. Data also stops working for no reason too. At least their customer service team answers the phone, unlike Telstra. I need to find another provider though as I cannot be bothered expending any more energy dealing with these issues.
I discovered mate with Google and I was looking for a good deal with a mobile network provider and indeed, it's like using Telstra bit cheaper ! I recommend mate mobile !!
Setup was too easy, customer service is fantastic, coverage is fantastic, have not experienced a dropout yet and find I’ve got better service than Telstra users sometimes! Very good value for money! Highly recommend.
Mate easy to change from old provider
Excellent, prompt & helpful customer service, when changing from an old provider. Coverage is excellent as we found hiking in SW of WA recently. Very pleased to be able to check on family in the UK without getting a huge bill. Highly recommended by a family member. Would recommend to others & will certainly be doing that

Not very long customer service wait time and very friendly to talk to and they understand everything and anything you need or require, Never had a problem with them.

My mate mobile reception is deadly. Never drops out. And rollover data is so good. I can save up the data for when I go away- as my ipad wifi isn’t always in range of a Wifi source. And when i call Mate with questions I get through to a LOCAL person and fast. I’d almost forgotten what that was like, and had resigned myself to no almost mo personal contact in customer service or run-around for ever. Its like Christmas

We switched to MATE and saved a substantial amount on our NBN and Mobile Bills.
The mobile coverage is with fantastic.
We get all the benefits of the Telstra network without having to deal with the overpriced Telstra plans or the non-existent customer service from Telstra.
The transition was super smooth and we could even use our old modem.
We are so happy with MATE! A real Aussie Telco!

Have not had any drop outs or difficulty with coverage since joining a few months ago. Not a big data user but speeds aren't any different to my last provider
Mate is a great service very happy with them not like other providers and a great price and service.
Had issues with others like over inflated prices and drop outs from other providers not mentioning names. It will be good if mates comes out with a widget for your home screen.

Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE are not supported on the Telstra Wholesale mobile network at this stage.
A missed call goes to normal messagebank provided this is enabled.
