Still my top choice after 3 years – Absolutely great car seat. We've checked out different seats recently and decided to leave Hera for another year. This seat was the best choice. I love how quickly my kid is falling asleep after take off. Just need to put him into cotton clothes because kids back always sweat in the car. A good cotton t shirt does the job. We purchased this seat… Read more

when my son was two months after using a capsule. Now I wish I didn't spend so much money for the capsule and used Hera strait away. Highly recommended seat for peace of mind for 3 - 4 years.

Two years later, getting rid of it – Was hoping to have my two Hera seats for years and years, but we're getting rid of them already :( I really liked them at first! I started using then when my youngest daughter was 14 months, and kept her rear facing to 30 months. Loved that we could do that. Eldest daughter forward faced in her seat to 4.5 years old. But recently noticing too… Read more

many issues to ignore:

* Straps don't tighten enough for our new baby, even when pulling really tight.

* Buckles keep coming undone mid trip.

* Seat belt adjuster (the one down the bottom on front of seat) is getting caught under the seat cover, which causes the harness strap to just completely come loose!!

I emailed and got no response. I don't expect they'll do anything anyway, seeing as we're past the warranty. Very disappointed in how these seats have lasted. Cutting my losses and getting rid of them, not worth the risk.

Baby loves it – Hard to install had to pay for this to be done and it does come loose every now and then. Babe loves it and falls asleep with in 5 mins of most drives. Seat belt height adjustment is super easy. And I have clean it in the washing machine and dryer it come out new every time.

Not for Summer but good for colder months! – Maxi Cosi is highly recommended by major retailer shop assistant, mainly because of the reputation. I like the thickness of the cushion that snug the baby well. However, when summer arrived, even we have the aircon turned on, baby is sweating at the back of his body. The suede like material is not breathable which i did hesitate but buy it anyway… Read more

because of the reputation. Survived one summer and i bought a different brand car seat with 1/2 of the price of Hera but more breathable material although the cushion not as thick. Since then, the maxi cosi car seat has been sitting in my garage. Overall it's a great car seat for colder months, definitely not for winter as the risk to overheat your baby.

Just Ok – I like this car seat easily to install and use, i bought it when there is promotion at store. I called the others store to pick up but when i was there the price suddenly go up. Cause still on my budget i dont have a choice, cause i need it that time and just only one. The things i dont like i can't take the seat belts off to wash it, because my baby usually bite that areaa :)

Sturdy, safe and comfortable – Easy to install and use. Baby looks comfortable/ The fabric is very nice and does not make the baby hot. Easy to clean. It is quite bulky which is not a problem in our SUV but may not be suitable for small cars. Having said that, it looks safe and comfortable. The harness that came with it was short so we had to purchase an extension for an additional cost. Would have been nice for it to be included with the car seat.

Great product – This is easy to install and use. Baby looks comfy. You can just pull the height up and the seatbelts move with it, so you dont need to do it separately which is great. I havent turned it around to face forward yet. The fabric and colour is nice too.

Wouldn't purchase again and regret purchasing – Purchased two maxi cosi car seats as I have twin girls. Love the look of them and how cosy they appear however bringing the girls home from hospital the straps would not go anywhere near tight enough and were not safe at all due to this. Also I recently changed the seats to forward facing but my daughters no longer sleep in the car like they used… Read more

to because their heads drop with how the car seats sit so up right! It is very uncomfortable and also dangerous that I rear faced the seats again although my daughters have almost outgrown the rear facing! I'm almost contemplating buyibg two new car seats as I don't like the way they are forward facing it is extremely dangerous for their necks! Also the Upper height marker is obsteucted by the head rest there for will not last until the age that is said. Very misleading and again dangerous due to the babies hunched to fit or the head rest resting on their shoulders

worried mum, can't drive without someone in the back! – I bought this seat for one of my cars after hearing great reviews on Maxi Cosi. I have to say I am really disappointed and worried for any babies safety! We had the seat professionally installed for peace of mind it was done correctly and even still put baby doesn't sit right and I feel she isn't secure! The seat seams to sit quite… Read more

upright and my daughters head flops forward. I have had the angle checked and there is nothing that can be (safely) done to fix this problem. When I posted about a this on a mums forum other mums came forward with the same problem and said they were putting pool noodles under one end to increase the angle. Surely this defeats the object of spending good money on a quality and safe car seat!?

When her head flops forward there is no support either side so going round corners, over bumps etc her head just flops around. Therefore we can't drive anywhere without someone in the back to physically hold her head back. There is no way this seems safe to me!

I also struggle with the harness. I can not get the harness tight enough, no matter how hard I pull.

Overall I am so disappointed with this seat and now feel I have no choice but to loose money we don't have buying another as I can't take the risk on the safety of my daughter!

We got two car seats, one fo Each car. The Maxi Cosi and an infa secure. I really wish I'd just gone with 2 infa secures so I could rest easy that my child is safe in the back while I concentrate on driving!

Great extended rear facing seat – We bought this seat after our baby outgrew the capsule. I was only interested in an extended rear facing seat, so we bought the Maxi-Cosi Hera for one car and a Britax Compaq mkii for the other. I found it very easy to self install. It feels very stable once fitted. My baby gets hot and sweaty easily but this seat seems to be not nearly as bad… Read more

as her capsule or the Britax. In terms of longevity, she is 13mo and 50th percentile for height and hasn't even reached the first shoulder marker yet, so we will be able to rear face for a long time I suspect! The harness height and length is simple to adjust without needing to take out the seat like you do with cheaper seats.

The only negatives would be the lack of side holders for the buckles to stop them getting stuck underneath baby, and the bottom insert always getting screwed up and caught underneath her. It feels as though it should be attached better.

We are hoping to have another baby and I will definitely purchase a second one of these after we've got through the capsule stage.

Not safe. Very dissapointed – We purchased 2 seats for our kids and had them professionally fitted. We cannot tighten the harness up tight enough. It gets to a certain point and no matter how much we try will not tighten as they should. Dissapointed as we spent close to $1000 for both (Isofix). Will be getting rid of them and buying something else.

Very unimpressed – I brought the Maxi Cosi Hera for my son who is currently 7 1/2 months old. This car seat restricts those children who are wanting to sit up as it does not have high enough inclined in the… Read more

rear facing position which I have seen a lot of other seats DO have. It's meant to be cooler for a baby and have more "air flow" but my child sweats like a pig. And lastly, I have had the car seat installed AND recently checked by a car seat tech to which everything is installed correctly but my sons head still slouches right forward where his head rands up down at his feet (totally unsafe!)

Very good car seat – I have been using this car seat for more then 2years and I'm very happy with it. I never had any problem with it. It is safe and comfortable car seat. It is easy to install in both rearward facing and forward facing directions. Easily changeable 5heights of headrest positions. Easy to take all covers off and put into a washing machine when needed to be clean. I would recommend this one!

Concerned mum – I have purchased two maxi cosi Hera air car seats which I purchased early this year and have not installed either yet. I am extremely concerned with the recall of the euro and looking at the comments below, people seem to have similar issues with the straps loosening with the Hera!! What should I do???

Attention other parents that have the maxi cosi hera seat!!! – We have recently purchased the Hera for our baby, (due in march) I have a concern in regards to my Hera not having the chest clip like i have seen on many other Maxi Cosi car seats. Stable, Secure and SAFE! – We have the Maxi-Cosi Hera isofix (has the two shoulder makers unaffected by recall) and this seat is absolutely brilliant! seat to replace a less than satisfactory seat that we purchased, it had a very high rating on product review but we found it absolutely awful and quite unsafe. For our vehicle anyway.

We have a Nissan Navara and could not secure the seat properly, even with all manner of towels jammed under it, it would be loose and wobbling around, that to me is unsafe and a classic example of the wrong seat in the wrong car.

The Hera is mounted using the isofix, and it is completely secure and stable in the car, no rocking around or moving, the shoulder straps rarely twist (if ever) and are easy to adjust and put on bub. We also love the independent locking in of each buckle as our LO is a squirmer!

The only thing I would like to see is a spring forward leg buckle as it is always under his bum when I put him in the seat. Overall we feel soo much safer with this seat

Baby Bunting let us place a number of different seats in our Navara to see which suited the best, I think it is very important that you try ANY seat in your car first before purchasing.

The seat was super easy to fit, the isofix is fantastic. The only negative being the seat protector supplied is difficult to hold in position while fitting the seat (why is there no tie fitted so you can fix it to the head rest???)

The adjustable head support/back is awesome, I can adjust it up so our LO top of his head is supported, he doesn't get overly hot and is super comfortable in this seat, he loves it as do we!

We have another bub on the way and will be buying another Maxi Cosi Isofix seat.

Had major manufacturer defect that we were blamed – I loved this seat up until we turned to forward facing and suddenly the straps wouldn't tighten. When we checked the seat we realised that the plastic under the buckle was completely broken and 2 screws were missing. We had only had the seat for 9 months. We sent the seat in to the manufacturer and got a refund but they tried to blame us and said… Read more

that we had modified the seat and that it had an extra screw!?! Why on earth would we do anything to a car seat. There would be no reason to and why would we endanger our child? My concern is that we know we didn't do anything to the seat so how many of these seats have this major fault and are carrying precious babies that wouldn't hold them in the seat in an accident. It's very scary, I would be very wary of buying any maxi cosi seat.

Comfortable and stable – Bub is now a big, tall 9 months and still rear facing. Harness fits nicely and shoulder height is so easy to adjust without fiddling with the harness. Also pretty easy to loosen and tighten the straps when baby is either in or out of the seat. Each buckle can clip in independently so you don't need to fight to get them both in at once but you do… Read more ·  1

need to check they are secure. We have not had the previously mentioned issue with the straps wearing on the bar and have checked regularly thanks to the heads up.

The cover is a pain to take off for washing, I don't think that will ever happen again! But the upholstery is nice and can be wiped pretty clean.

The infant insert was good when Bub was tiny.

I guess this seat is as easy/hard to get in as most car seats. Kidsafe gave us a metal thingy to keep the belt tight and the seat is rock solid. Have also had it forward facing when on holiday with no problems.

We have it in a Honda CR-V and is somewhat limits how far the passenger seat can go back but not too bad (tall people).

All up, pretty happy for quality and safety at the price point.

Has met our needs well – Good reversible car seat, daughter sleeps well and comfortably in it and it's easy to get het in and out of. The fabric is coming away from the shoulder strap padding a bit looking untidy. Haven't installed myself so can't comment on ease.

for your child and give you peace of mind when you are on these dangerous road this does neither. It make me incredibly mad that my child has been put in danger due to the poor quality of this seat. Not only did I purchase it in Sep 2012 I didn't actually received it for another 4 or so months due to a recall on it so It has only been used for 2 years on the 1st of feb 2015 so you would think for the price of these things the life of them and quality would be much better. My sister is due any day now and I had reccomended this seat but I think I'll tell her to change it.

If I could I would get my money back and purchase something else but I doubt anything will be done as from past experiences these companies don't seem to care! Very disappointing !!!

Not impressed either – Having the exact same problem as review on 14 October 2014, the metal rods on the back of the seat wear holes in the harness straps. I own 2 of these & both have the same problem. Replacement of harness by manufacturer is not an acceptable resolution.

Not impressed – The straps get caught on 2 silver rods on the under side of the seat when strapping in my daughter. The seat belts have holes wearing into each strap. Perfection! – Hands down, the BEST convertible car seat I have seen on the market! It is so padded, so perfect for newborns. Our daughter loves this seat! – We simply love this car seat! We wanted a car seat from a reputable company for our little girl to make sure she is safe and comfortable during travel. YouTube it was very easy and only took about 15 minutes.

We have the stone colour and are very happy with this neutral colour as you don’t really see stains on it. It is easy to clean and the fabric is nice and soft. It also comes with a cover that protects our daughter from the sun. Our girl is still too little to turn the seat to forward facing, but we are happy to keep it rearward facing as long as possible. We did not lose too much leg space for the passenger seat so passengers can still travel comfortably.

The cushioning is very comfortable and our bub loves to sleep in her seat. We feel sorry for her when we have to wake her up when we arrive at our destination. The seat has handy pockets at the front where you can store toys or nappies. The seat looks stylish too.

We are very happy and would definitely recommend this car seat to all parents to be! comfortable, safe, reliable

User friendly, safe and comfy – We bought the Hera for our 6 month old baby boy. The Hera feels and looks very comfy due to the soft material that has been used and the it looks specious so our son has a bit more room to move. easy and the air cushions on either side of the head gives me a piece of mind in regards to his safety.

The other really good thing about this seat is how easy it is to place him in the seat. We had another seat before this one and I would occasionaly bump his head when popping him in or out :-(. I have never had this issue with the Hera.

Our little boy loves it when we put him in the seat, even when it's warm because the material doesn't get very hot.

Overall I can defintely recommand this seat. Easy to adjust, safe and spacious No flashy colors to choose from
