The staff are an absolute joke. It’s like they’re robots readings from a script. If you interrupt them to try and voice how your situation is different, they say “let me finish (my script) please” and then end with a silence that loudly and emotionlessly says “go tell someone who cares”. Show details

Hill, I was told they cannot resize it further and was essentially advised to either try an independent jeweller or purchase a new engagement ring.

I understand that a ring cannot be modified if it risks damaging the setting, but what is disappointing is that such a significant limitation was never explained at the time of purchase. Rather than offering a meaningful solution, the response has essentially been to spend more money.When we went in store for the care plan check up we were told to see an independent jeweller and void all warranties and the care plan or wear the ring on another finger and buy a new one.

After this experience, we will be purchasing our wedding bands and any future engagement ring elsewhere. It’s incredibly disappointing to feel that customer care comes second to another sale.

I had a very disappointing experience at Michael Hill at Warringah Mall when I went to return a watch that I had purchased online. As soon as I explained that I wanted a refund, both staff members took my watch to the back room and left me waiting for around 7 to 8 minutes with no explanation. To be honest, I found this explanation very difficult to believe. If the system had genuinely been down, I would have expected to be told immediately instead of having two staff members disappear into the back for several minutes before giving me that answer. The whole situation made me feel like I wasn't being given the real reason, which was extremely frustrating.

Whether the system was actually down or not, the lack of honesty, transparency and communication was unacceptable. I left feeling that my time had been wasted and that I wasn't treated with the respect every customer deserves.

I have always expected better customer service from Michael Hill, and unfortunately this experience has left me with a very negative impression.

I had great service at MHJ Indooroopilly, when I wanted to join my gold charms to my necklace. I wanted it done that day, so thought I'd have to do it myself. appreciated the free offer, but didn't want to fiddle with the jump rings on the charms as I thought it would weaken them. He then suggested slipping both charms onto another slightly larger jump ring, so it would be the one attached to the necklace & he would attach it to see if it suited what I want before I committed. It was perfect and all for only the cost of the new 10kt gold jump ring - $11. I had been to another jeweller that day & it was going to cost a lot more & take 2 weeks.

Had to get 2 extra links for my watch, I just wanted the links themselves and I was going to install myself, no.. apparently they couldn't do that, they need to do it and they needed to rip me off charging me $75 for it. I purchased a $1,400 watch from Michael Hill online. with). Being a gift and on a limited timeline, I had no choice but to accept the watch as-is and purchase a new box and watch strap at my own expense. To make matters worse, MH then insultingly offered a $100 discount on a future purchase to say sorry (as if I would ever shop there ever again). Avoid at all costs, their terrible reputation is well earned and I feel like a fool for giving them a chance at all.

2023 - cost over $5000.

One of the smaller diamonds fell out within the first year. Given that I have maintained the 6 monthly checkups it was replaced under warranty but there was a cost to repair of around $140.

December 2025 the main diamond fell out. I found the diamond and went back to the store in January with the ring and the diamond. I was honest and gave them the diamond. Had I not found the diamond, they would have had to replace it. Again, there will be a cost to repair, tba, unknown at the time of writing this review. I believe the cost should be borne by Michael Hill.

I have diamond jewelry which I wear every day, some pieces more than 20 years and none of these has ever had an issue.

I believe that the ring I purchased is inferior with the quality of the workmanship and is substandard.

Bought 10ct solid gold heart earrings for my daughter from Michael Hill Robina. I would highly recommend purchasing from this store. Amazing service, great communication, and lovely salespeople, couldn't be happier. When there was an issue with one of the earrings, they provided exceptional customer service and replaced it for me. Avoid. Sadly, a business whose advertised core values are not reflected by its lack of integrity. The business relies on high pressure sales and average quality products. Not surprisingly they suffer from high people turnover, both the staff from constant pressure of demanding targets and repairers who are poorly rewarded.

Don't buy online with Michael Hill Purchased an gift online for Xmas and wanted to exchange the item for another size. Due to policies the Customer Service replied to say there could not be an exchange and there was no other option but to follow the relevant policies.
