Poor quality. I am bought a pearl ring, not even a year old and the pearl has fallen off twice. I had purchased the 10 year warranty looks like I will be using it a lot. I will never buy from here again. Waste of money and time. Show details
I bought a ring online and in advance for my daughter's 21st birthday. The ring arrived and it was the smallest stone I have ever seen! Not depicted correctly online. After my daughter's birthday I tried to get a refund or exchange. It was in the same condition as when purchased but because we were outside the 30 day return policy, they would… Read more

the stones to fall out. Generally Australian products are well made so you don't have to worry about missing stones. Didn't have a good experience.

We loved buying our rings at MHJ with the help of Faye. Faye was accepting and attentive. She laughed at our jokes. She helped us make the best decision for us. We got the perfect rings that we didn't know we needed.....until FAYE <3 Show details · 1

Miss Represented The Pics on the web site look fantastic but the reality after receiver them is pretty ordinary. Everything looks bigger in the picks and the apparent quality looks great until you hold it in your hand. I would NOT recommend ordering anything from Michael Hill on Line. Go to the actual store it will save you a lot of money and a lot of disappointment. See Before and After Pics Below ! Show details

So my husband and I purchased his wedding band from the Mt druitt store and chose a tungsten ring which was $499 (on special) just for it to shatter into 3 pieces not even 3 and a half years later. So we were extremely ripped off not just for price but also quality. And gold chains don't get me started 3-4 times I had to go back to get it fixed… Read more
coz there was bits of gold poking into my skin. In the end i just gave up coz i was just wasting my time. Steer clear from this place coz you're only gonna get crap quality for a ridiculous price. Better off going elsewhere
Think twice b4 you buy any diamond from Michael hill. They emphasised the lifetime warranty, but if you miss one service. The lifetime warriors in invalid. I can not say I am perfect. I missed once. And it is gone. You paid more because of that. Go elsewhere to buy the same diamond and pay less. Same diamond and same ring but the policy is just… Read more

Do not buy a tungsten ring from this place. I work with my hands and was told by Michael Hill that tungsten would be my best option as it’s indestructible.. couple of years in the ring is ruined the end pieces of come away and as it’s tungsten it cannot be repaired and Michael Hill with nothing to do with me. jeweller within the centre where the shop was located to try and get it fixed and that jeweller told me that he’s never seen a tungsten ring made from three pieces as this one was and it can’t be repaired.. he said it had to be a cheap make as he’s never seen a tungsten ring made from three pieces. I’d advise not to buy a tungsten ring from Michael Hill and don’t let them try to tell you that tungsten is indestructible because obviously there aren’t..

2023 - cost over $5000.
One of the smaller diamonds fell out within the first year. Given that I have maintained the 6 monthly checkups it was replaced under warranty but there was a cost to repair of around $140.
December 2025 the main diamond fell out. I found the diamond and went back to the store in January with the ring and the diamond. I was honest and gave them the diamond. Had I not found the diamond, they would have had to replace it. Again, there will be a cost to repair, tba, unknown at the time of writing this review. I believe the cost should be borne by Michael Hill.
I have diamond jewelry which I wear every day, some pieces more than 20 years and none of these has ever had an issue.
I believe that the ring I purchased is inferior with the quality of the workmanship and is substandard.
Follow-up · It over a month since I left my ring to be repaired. I am still waiting for a quote for the repair! I visited the Mackay store to find out what is happening and they said that the repairers are extremely busy, wonder why? All I can do is to keep waiting.
Follow-up · Finally, after six weeks the quotation was received to repair my ring, which they discounted - $469.08 down to $300.00 (Manager Approved). The believe that the damage to the ring was caused by a significant blow to the ring and wear and tear. I… Read more

which are connected by a stud and screw together so you can either have a large pearl or small pearl at the front. I did not realise until I got home that the connection is much wider than the thickness of my ear lobe 0.5 cm in fact. They will not sit neatly next to an earlobe but will hang down from the earlobe I also realise screwing the front and back will be very difficult when on an ear. I rang and was told I can’t return them even though i was not made aware that this was the policy when I purchased the earrings. I also found it a put down when the employee who spoke to me on the phone kept saying “there is nothing I can do lovely” . I will not be able to wear these earrings and have wasted my money. I wish it was possible to give zero stars.
Follow-up · No sympathy by staff no returns even though I was not Tod this. I can’t wear the earrings they are a bad design. Leonie Ferrari
Follow-up · I will never by anything from there again it’s so sad that Michael Hill do not make you aware of their policy A folded up receipt in the bag with the purchase is not enough to warn you. I have been told other jewellers use sterilised wipes and you can try them. I’m not happy.

I had great service at MHJ Indooroopilly, when I wanted to join my gold charms to my necklace. I wanted it done that day, so thought I'd have to do it myself. appreciated the free offer, but didn't want to fiddle with the jump rings on the charms as I thought it would weaken them. He then suggested slipping both charms onto another slightly larger jump ring, so it would be the one attached to the necklace & he would attach it to see if it suited what I want before I committed. It was perfect and all for only the cost of the new 10kt gold jump ring - $11. I had been to another jeweller that day & it was going to cost a lot more & take 2 weeks.

I purchased a $1,400 watch from Michael Hill online. with). Being a gift and on a limited timeline, I had no choice but to accept the watch as-is and purchase a new box and watch strap at my own expense. To make matters worse, MH then insultingly offered a $100 discount on a future purchase to say sorry (as if I would ever shop there ever again). Avoid at all costs, their terrible reputation is well earned and I feel like a fool for giving them a chance at all.

Avoid. Sadly, a business whose advertised core values are not reflected by its lack of integrity. The business relies on high pressure sales and average quality products. Diamonds are yellow with many inclusions, white gold platings are thin, Pandora-style beads are cheap while their low-price range are sourced from mass-production wholesalers.… Read more

Don't buy online with Michael Hill Purchased an gift online for Xmas and wanted to exchange the item for another size. Due to policies the Customer Service replied to say there could not be an exchange and there was no other option but to follow the relevant policies. Most appalling customer service at this store. If you need after sales assistance and help with repairs the condescending manner of the manager is next level. A ring was given to me as a 40th present from my husband. In April the band of the ring split. I was told by the manager that I'd damaged it and had to pay to have it repaired. I didn't… Read more
accept that to be true, so I took it to an independent jeweller for assessment, who stated the split was due to a casting issue and that Michael Hill was responsible for this repair. I went back and once I said what the independent jeweller had stated it was repaired at their cost. I picked up the ring after this repair on May 1st. I wore the ring approx. 5 times after this repair and again (same side as the repair) a diamond fell out. I left the ring at Michael Hill Doncaster on August 16th and stated I wanted a refund and that it was faulty. It took from then until August 29th to be told was told no refund would be given, that it was either I pay to repair it (somehow, I had apparently damaged one tiny diamond, amongst a group of diamonds and flattened the prongs on just that one tiny diamond), or I could exchange it for something else in store. I said there's nothing in store I like, and I believe that a more likely explanation to the diamond falling out is they've damaged it whilst repairing the split in April; if I have to pay to repair what is the cost? I waited more than a week for the cost of the repair and couldn't seem to get one, so I emailed saying seeing as you can't seem to provide a quote to repair the ring, give it back to me and I'll get it re-assessed by the external jeweller. In response to this I was offered a refund, which we took. We went to the store for the refund, and the manager Irene rolled her eyes and hardly spoke to us. Not an apology for all the delays, or any conversation at all... just a what's your number so I can get the receipt of the system and then told us the money would be back in 3-5 days. Just another poor experience in a line of terrible experiences in this store. As we left the store my 13-year-old son actually asked, "why is that lady so mean". Not an experience anyone should have in a store, and I certainly wouldn't recommend them to anyone after this experience.
I purchased a gold bracelet (10Y 19cm double oval curb) from Michael Hill for my daughter’s 21st birthday, along with their 3-year warranty (an extra $79 on top of the $359 bracelet) to cover repairs or damage. weekends, when the bracelet suddenly broke.
She returned it with proof of warranty, only to be told after two weeks that it couldn’t be repaired because the links are hollow and it had been “excessively worn.” The Bengio store manager, Natasha was quite rude and went on to say that they can’t predict how often customers wear their jewellery, as some people “only wear it once.”
So essentially, we paid over $438 for a bracelet + warranty, only to find out that wearing it regularly (but not excessively!) makes the warranty useless. If bracelets aren’t designed to last or be worn often, customers should be told upfront before purchasing.
This was meant to be a special, lasting gift for my daughter, and instead we’ve been left with disappointment and poor service. Very disheartened by the experience with Michael Hill.
