Great vacuum, bad power head – Have had this vacuum for a about 7 years now and while the actual vacuum is good and suction is great, this will be the 3rd power head we have to replace and at $110 each its just not worth it. Hair gets caught and heats up and melts the plastic joints on the power head . Cutting the hair off doesn't help and to clean it out you have to undo the… Read more
whole thing which takes about 45 mins. Not sure why they make the bearings out of plastic Instead of metal, if it was metal it wouldn't happen. We bought this to replace a dyson and while we found the suction better, we never ever had a problem with hair getting caught.
Not bad – Although this machine is now discontinued I wanted to put my thoughts out there as I am sure some of the components will still be the same todays vacuums. The Good...... The motor is fantastic. Great suction. Gives quite a work out on some tyoes of carpets due to its suction power. Good design of the body having rubber protection around the… Read more
sides. Protects your walls, doors and furniture.
The not so good....
-The curved part that connects the hose to the wand is very fragile. (This is the part that has the flimsy air flow adjustment on it.) It is made from very thin plastic and will break over time. Approx $75 to replace. If you can get the part. Our part broke in 2019. So thats four years of use. Still, it shouldn't break. Such a short piece of plastic it should have been a lot thicker. -The Hepa filter securing tab is inadequate. It just doesn't function as it is supposed too. Over time (and not too long to honest) its rebound spring goes flat. Therefore it does not hold the hepa filter in place very well. -The vacuum hose head unit: Carpet or hard floor adjuster. (This is the part you use your foot on to change setting) It does not stay in place very well at all. A small bump and it flicks back to hardwood surface setting so you are constantly having to press it back down when vacuuming hard surfaces.
And thats about it. A good vacuum, but has a few faults. The worst and most inconveinient and expensive is the hose/wand connector. If you cannot source the part, your vacuums pretty much useless. Unless you can 'Macgyver' it :-)
Very very dissapointed, not worth the $$ – I bought the cat and dog vacuum ( not sure of the exact model though) A very disappointing vacuum. Worked a treat for a year no problems, then lid keeps popping open, hepa filter cartridge keeps popping out. Have replaced this filter twice already. ( which I know you are supposed to do regularly). Won’t buy Miele again and maybe will go back to bagless. Show details
Love this vacuum – I did a lot of research before purchasing this vacuum and Miele had the best reviews. Having owned it for close to 3 years now i have to concur! This machine is so quiet and does a fab job of cleaning both my carpets and hard wood floors. Not a single issue with this Miele. Show details
Perhaps the perfect vacuum – Very happy with the machine... Seems to be very well designed and user friendly. Everything just works as it should. All the parts seem strong and durable. The way the floor head pivots even allows me to vacuum under the bed. It may not have the visual showroom appeal of other brands but it's a great machine... And made in Germany too!
Excellent Vacuum Cleaner – Great suction. Cleans the floors very well. Best vacuum cleaner I've ever owned by far. I would recommend Miele Vacuum cleaners to all my family and friends. Great product, good quality and average price. Also fairly quiet and looks good. good range of colours to chose from. I'm very happy.
Mid range price with high range performance – A huge THANK YOU to this community for steering me in the direction of a Miele vacuum. My previous vacuums have been from Wertheim and Hoover, and both were clunky and noisy. My new Miele S8 Pure Air is light and maneuvrable- my architraves have none of the 'battle scars' left by my previous models banging around corners. It looks great, has… Read more
multiple different specialty settings (including for curtains, deep carpeting, and a quiet mode) and the main unit has a slot for easy storage of the head when not in use.
There's no risk of the bags spilling dust everywhere when you remove them, as they have a 'trap door' preventing leakage.
Also, the superior suction means there is less risk of things getting caught in the 'wand'.
Mid range price with high range performance - thoroughly recommended!
Quiet yet powerful – My old Industrial style canister vacuum cleaner was getting old & was a pain to drag around. After seemingly endless research on Google, I was fairly set on getting a bagless vacuum cleaner, but was put off by problems reported about filters causing machine shutdowns etc. (Bosch & Electrolux). Didn't want a Dyson as I was never convinced about… Read more
their value ... clever marketing, artistic design & really charging for it. One brand stood out, with uniformly good reviews ... Miele. Saw the S8 Pure Air (S8330) advertised at the Good Guys & decided that this would do the job.
I only have a 2 bedroom unit, with no pets. My unit has 2/3rds carpet & 1/3rd tiles. I don't know how you are supposed to push the standard head on carpet at full suction, it won't move due to the extremely powerful suction. It works fine at a lower power setting, better than my old vacuum at maximum power ( could be an advantage in the future, as the motor loses power?). I can see that the carpet pile is being lifted after vacuuming, where I couldn't see any difference with my old machine. I can't believe how quiet this machine is, sounds like a jet plane, idling on the runway, from a few kilometers away! I like the quality of the materials & the obvious care in the design of the machine & accessories, makes most of the other brands look very cheaply made, though it isn't as 'fancy' looking as some other machines. Very happy with my new purchase, hopefully I will stay happy for many years.
Does what it says on the tin! – Can't fault it. Perfect for our hard floors but versatile for areas with fabric material (rugs, couch, curtains etc). We have a few with dust allergies in our house so loving the finer HEPA filter. In addition the bags make the emptying process so much cleaner rather than being re-exposed to the dirt in the air again with the bagless models that we've had previously. I'm genuinely thrilled with my vacuum.
Perfect Vaccum Cleaner – I gifted this Vacuum Cleaner to my wife on Christmas. She liked it too much....I choose it because I found it model quite cool...features are quite enough and the most important thing is it’s in my budget...Thumbs up to this
Fantastic suction – Great vacuum with excellent suction. I had a Miele vacuum for 22 years and gave it to my daughter so I would only buy Miele again as had no problem with previous one.
Awesome – This vacum is awesome, powerful and cleans wonderfully. Great price and better than the competition or common brands out there. Thanks Mele.
Fantastic vacuum – The S8 Pure Air is very powerful, sucks up matted fur without a problem. Definitely gives my arms a workout on the high settings. Surprisingly quiet. Does a lot better job than a Dyson DC37. Only downside is being a bagged vacuum, no real reason why it should be - bags are wasteful and expensive.
Terrific – Really great and I bought especially to do stairs as the old Electrolux one was just too heavy It is quiet and efficient. I also went in to buy a Dyson but so happy with Miele!
