Great vacuum bad customer service – I loved my vacuum and even recommended it to my friends and family.. How ever I was so distraught once the motor stuffed up 1 week PASSED WARRANTY- SUPRISE SUPRISE. We approached Bing Lee, they refused to even help, as it was passed WARRANTY. Great service hey! Contacted miele which came to Xmas holidays. After Xmas break, I got given a 3rd… Read more

party repair unit which wasn't open till 11 January. In the mean time miele staff told me we may be able to obtain a repair quote and miele may pay 4 the repair as we were 1 week passed WARRANTY . I waited for the 3rd party repair to open on 11 January ( with no vacuum+ 3 kids). I attempted to contact 3rd party repair once 11 Jan approached and they were still not open. Now it had been close to 1 month past warranty. Re contacted miele and was now advised to go drop it off the their eastern creek repair department.. but now staff on the miele service centre was hesitant to clarify if it will be covered under warranty .. Moral of the story- Bing Lee was a joke to deal with as they just phalmed us off. They had already made there sale off us 2 years ago.. no value for customer service side of things.

I posted on the Bing Lee website they decided to not publish it. Why not submit all reviews rather then being dishonest about your brand and value

Worst vacuum I have purchased in my lifetime – First use - telescope suction tube did not work; phoned Miele & they replaced it (how long will it last before the same issue will re-appear? Lifetime warranty? This suction tube is made on the cheap compared to the older Miele vacuums I have kept in my collection of the past.) Second use - suction tube seems ok (for now). The dust bag inside… Read more

the Miele (that is the one that came with the original vacuum when purchased) released a large amount of excess dust into the cavity it sits in. It is the first time in my life I have had to clean inside the cavity of a Miele vacuum cleaner so much dust. The motor protection filter was clogged jam of dust (how will that impact the motor). The Miele TotalCare 5000 I have owned and used for 28 years is extremely clean and no dust inside the cavity where the dust bag sits. My brand new Miele is full of dust I had to clean out after first use!

Third use - replaced the dust bag for the first time. About half way through the filling of the dust bag, the motor made a very strange and loud squealing/groaning sound (never heard in my life in a vacuum). I turned the appliance off at the wall. Opened to check, all seemed OK. Started it up again, no noise.

General comment: The instruction manual says: "Airflow indicator: change the dust bag when the colour marker in the airflow indicator turns red." Well, as soon as you turn on the vacuum cleaner at the power it turns red, so that is no help!" And based on the event of second use above I am now checking the dust bag frequently to ensure another dust catrosophe does not arise. My older Miele's simply reduced their suction capacity when the bag got full - this one explodes the dust into the bag cavity!! Very poor.

Older top of the range models used to be 2200 W (now they are only 2000 W). Older top of the range models used to come with all the accessories such as for timber floors and extenders (now they charge you separately for them). That is like most businesses models however, quality reduces, price increases.

Decent bagged vacuum cleaner! – We’ve used a few vacuum cleaner from different brands in the past for our wood & carpet floor. Most of them are screaming loud, and the sucktion gets noticeably weaker as bag fills. We thought that’s the norm of vacuum cleaner until we tried Miele C3. We did our research online before buying C3, it’s definitely a jump in price compare to what we… Read more

used in past, but the quality is clearly a big difference. Comparing to average brands, the noise level is slightly quieter, sucktion is a big leap, weight is about the same, air filter is actually doing what it should, overall build quality is solid, excellent design to store all cleaning heads in the body compartment, the biggest difference is the sucktion, even when the bag is full, it’s still very powerful! However it’s not perfect, the bag fill level indicator is confusing just like other brands I’ve used, the look is kinda boring compared to Dyson or latest Miele. Other than that, it’s a good honest vacuum cleaner and I’m very happy with it! (BTW, If you are getting Miele, make sure to get the Made in Germany models).

So very disappointed in Miele – I was very happy with my Miele vacuum for the first two years. Suction is good, it’s easy to use and it does a great job. However, at 2 years and 3 months of age it broke and I’ve now experienced what other reviewers have forewarned about, appalling customer service. The fault has not made the vacuum unusable, but it is now difficult to use and… Read more

makes me incredibly angry every time I use it (it’s not like vacuum was previously my favourite activity, but my blood boils every time I get the vacuum out now). Basically the retractor has broken on the power cord. The challenge is that the cord will not stay out, it constantly pulls itself back into the vacuum. As a temporary fix, I use a peg to keep the cord pulled out but during the time it takes me to vacuum my house (312m2, mix of carpets and floorboards), at least three times the cord will suck the peg into the machine and I have to stop and go through the painful process of trying to retrieve the peg from inside the machine and set it all up again.

Miele provides a 2 year warranty and from experience with other companies, if you are just outside of you warranty period (ie 3 months, as was the case for me), they will still honour the warranty. Not Miele, no apparently you spend nearly $1000 on a vacuum that proves faulty and it’s just too bad.

Miele offered me a couple of options. I can pay to get it fixed (approximately $400 by the way for this) and then I can send them the invoice and they’ll consider whether or not they want to honour the warranty. Too high risk for me, I can almost buy a new vacuum for that. They offered another option, I can pay for a quote and assessment (they said it will cost me $31) and then they can decide before I get the work done. So I took my vacuum to their local agent. I was told no, it’s not $31, it’s $68. Plus I need to leave my vacuum with them at least two weeks before they can look at it (can’t take it home or I lose my spot in the queue). Then I have to continue to wait for Miele to decide and then if all goes well I can go ahead with the repair with Miele paying the bill but then it will be at least another 2 weeks before the agent can fix it.

So in summary, I can’t win. No matter what I’m out of pocket. And then I have to be without my vacuum for more than 4 weeks. I have small children and I can’t possibly be without a vacuum that long, so I’d also have to buy a cheap new vacuum to cover the gap period.

So I’m opting for anger every time I use my vacuum until I can justify that the vacuum is old enough to throw in the tip and buy a new one. Which will not be Miele, might go back to Dyson. Perhaps I shouldn’t have left Dyson but I listened to reviews of disappointment with Dyson in recent years, so decided for try the “trusted” miele brand.

Previously I’d thought Miele could do no wrong. We have a miele oven and dishwasher. As soon as my washing machine and dryer wear out I was planning on Miele replacements. But not now. I’m praying my other items have no problems but won’t take such a gamble on anything new in the future.

For the record, bad things seem to come in threes, and just before my vacuum broke, my washing machine (Samsung) started leaking and my microwave (LG) also stopped working. Samsung extended the warranty on the washing machine without any question (took it from 2 years to 5 years) and came out to my house and repaired it without any cost or inconvenience to me. Likewise, LG extended the warranty on my microwave (which was 3 years old) and repaired it without any cost to me. It only took LG a couple of days.

Easily the best vacuum! – Was recently in the market for a new vacuum cleaner and we're unsure about whether to go a Dyson or Miele. Decided with the Miele based on online product reviews as well as feedback from family. What we love: - Incredible suction! Isn't that we're all after at the end of the day?! We don't even need to use the most powerful setting! I… Read more

honestly don't think our floors have ever been so clean.

- Considering the above, it's without a doubt the most quiet vacuum we've ever heard! (We did a test on the Dyson Big Ball and can't say it was even nearly as quiet).

- The long power cord. True, most vacs probably have a long cord these days, but the Miele was slightly longer than the Dyson. We could nearly do our entire 2 bedroom unit from one power point!

- The look. Overall, the Miele just seemed way more aesthetically pleasing to look at. It's a pro of little value, but it was just the cherry on the cake for us!

We were a little unsure about whether to get another bagged vacuum. Some stated the price of the bags were a deterrent, however, we personally didn't think they cost that much at all!

Also, in light of the aforementioned, we think it's worth it!

Needless to say, we are so glad we went the Miele!

Second Miele owned – This is my second Miele. After my first one bit the dust, I had to use a loaned Dyson for a few weeks - shocking compared to the Miele. I used to own Dyson before Miele and will never go back. They feel like they are just picking fluff off the surface, where as Miele really feels like its getting deep into the carpet. Love ease of use, variable… Read more

power and the onboard tools are great extremely convenient. My only criticism in the plastic used for the bumper and the heads. It seems to mark my white skirting boards, where the Dyson doesn't. I have to use protective tape on them. Apart from that I love it. If Miele used a non marking rubber I would give it 5.

Where have you been all my life – Somehow I'd never heard about Miele and their amazing vacuum cleaners. floors I have to use the lowest setting because otherwise its just too strong. I'm not kidding when I say I now vacuum my house in HALF the time. This thing is so good, you only need to go over an area once and it somehow even stays cleaner for longer. Worth every last penny I spent on it, and the HEPA filter is really nice to have as well. I'm confident to say Miele would leave the Dysons for dust..

Extremely disappointed – Extremely disappointing. After owning a Miele vacuum for nearly 14 years I decided again to purchase this highly rated brand. I bought Miele because I thought it would last, might as well have bought a budget vacuum from Kmart.

Product failure after only 3 years – I'm a domestic cleaner and a fan of Miele products, so when my boss needed to buy a new vacuum I persuaded her to invest in this top of the range one. replacement main power board (and exhaust filter). The repairer advised it was a product fault, with no obvious known cause that they could attribute it to. Cost to repair is nearly $400. My boss said no, she will buy Dyson instead.

Best I have used – I just fell in love with the C3 Comfort TotalCare from Miele after my first use. bag has lasted around 3 whole house vacuuming - it’s a 5 bed house! So it might seem not a lot but with 5 pets and a large house it is not faring too poorly. And the bags are fairly small.

I had a shark rotator, bagless and its motor just stopped working. It would have been easy A$350 to replace on a nearly A$700 vacuum that was roughly 4 years old.

The Miele costs about the same but after reading other reviews on the Miele, I decided to go for that make - and I am glad I did

on handle is also very convenient depending on what surface u r vacuuming. The suction is great but if I put too high up it indicates my bag is full. Manual says regardless I need to change bag. That’s the disadvantages with bag vacuum. You don’t change, suction is not good. U change, it will be lots of bags u go through in a short vacuum time frame. Bags are not cheap. Lots of floorhead and accessories which is handy for clean freak like me.

Can't honestly believe how good this vacuum is – My wife purchased this vacuum despite me pushing for a popular bagless cyclone type of vacuum. I didn't believe in going back to a bagged vacuum until I read most industrial and commercial vacuums are bagged. I have to admit I was wrong.
