overrated – I have had this cleaner for almost 4 years now and I am very disappointed with it. The bags fill up to quickly and are very expensive. As someone else said in their review the lid keeps coming open when vacuuming especially after the bag has been replaced. It also loses suction and I have to put my hand over the nozzle to get the… Read more
suction back. This happens after every bag change. The suctio is only average at the best of times and I always have to use the power head on the carpet because the normal head is useless on carpet. I thought being a Miele and German built that it would be a great vacuum cleaner. WRONG
Excellent vacuum machine – Excellent suction. Excellent noise level (unlike Dyson). No complaints. Great vacuuming of floor boards and rugs. The only concern I have is the cost of the bags and the HEPA filters. But overall, no regrets and happy to have not gone with Dyson which was on my shortlist. The power cord is a good length. Disappointing. This was the most expensive vaccume cleaner we have bought so thought it would last – Disappointing. We bought this expensive vaccum because with thought it would be more powerful and last. Well the suction is great when its working but every so often the suction ebbs to almost nothing. We stop it, make sure the bag is not full, fiddle with the and filter, click the filter in and out then it works again for a while and then… Read more
the same suctions loss happens again. Its not an old machine and we are retired with no children in the house so it doesn't get a lot of work. We have wood floors with a few mats - that all.
Amazing Hardfloor Vacuum – This is the Best Vacuum we have purchased, a friend of ours had one and I tried it, rather than do the run around we decided to take the plunge and brought one after reading some reviews. It is quiet, easy to use and the suchon is Great, both the cord and the handle seem longer than most vacuums as well. Would highly recommend it. Thanks Miele for making my life easier !!!!!
perfect – I am onto my second Miele My first one which is years old and still works perfectly I gave it to my son in law and decided to get a new one I was feeling generous at the time I would not be without it and so easy to pull around I have had my new one about 8 months
Great unit - does everything right – I specifically wanted a S8 series vacuum in order to get the more efficient lower wattage motor. My previous vacuum cleaner was a 2200 watt unit and while the suction was fairly decent it made the house so hot in summer you had to choose a cool day to do the vacuuming. Don't let the wattage numbers fool you, bigger isn't always better, the S8360… Read more
has more suction than my previous vacuum at around half the wattage. It is also substantially quieter than my previous unit, the neighbours now no longer know when the vacuuming is being done in our house!! Simple things like when you turn the unit on it smoothly ramps up to speed rather than thumping into life let you know this is a quality unit. This vacuum has so much suction vacuuming carpets can give you a work out with the unit on the higher settings, I usually use at least one step down from maximum. If I was to nit pick, the only minor issue is the design of the standard head on this unit which can get hooked under low objects, it slides in under things easily but catches in the reverse direction and can take some getting out.
A pleasure to use – Few of us enjoy vacuuming. When my Panasonic vacuum expired, I decided to spend a bit more to get something decent. The Miele S 8360 seemed to be the right model for my needs. I've really enjoyed using it in the 6 months I've owned it. I like the great suction, long cord, quiet, multiple motor speeds. The only thing I don't like is closing… Read more
the cover when replacing the bag. The cover pops up OK, but you have to force the cover shut. It feels like you are going to break it. I had to look up the manual to make sure I was doing it correctly.
Overall, I almost enjoy vacuuming now. Long cord, multi-speed, quiet Closing the bag cover
Worth every cent! You will not be disappointed – After having an infuriating experience with an Electrolux Ultraone with a powerhead (see reviews), this is vacuum cleaner is simply delightful. Not wanting to end up with an expensive lemon again, or a cheap and tacky machine, and after much research, I could not be happier with this purchase. I have light pink/cream coloured carpet in my current… Read more · 2
place (Yea gross, I know). The first time I used this vacuum, the carpet looked rejuvenated, the pile was plumped up, and the colour even looked brighter! All of this from a vacuum with a standard floor head, it's put my old Electrolux to shame! I was going to get a Dyson, but it's suction was woeful compared to this. I don't care that I need to purchase bags and filters. I would rather take a bag out and throw it away (which automatically seals), than be outside emptying bins, and cleaning clogged filters, ending up in a plume of dust. This vacuum is worth every cent. I decided to purchase this model over the S 8310 as it had the Miele Comfort Handle, an extra hard floor tool, and a more efficient standard floor head and motor. Very easy to manoeuvre, it doesn't constantly catch on furniture and door frames. Lightweight for its size. The Comfort handle is really nice to use, a lot less strain on your wrists, and it make manoeuvring the floor head easy. A robust design that will (hopefully) go the distance. Easy to park the hose while you moved stuff around, and also to store the vacuum. Onboard storage for tools, which are of a decent quality. The floor head has incredible pick up, it seals to the floor and plumps up the carpet fibres, and picks up hair no problem, yet it is still easy to push and pull across the carpet. One touch cord rewind, with a soft rewind, so it's not hurtling through the house, with the plug bashing into everything in it's path. HEPA filtration, which is sealed, and also has a layer or charcoal to absorb any odours. Big dust bag capacity, and the bags are quite thick, so I'm sure they will hold a lot more dust and not clog as much. It has a nice long cord, no constant power socket changes. Nice lightweight telescopic 2 piece tube, which adjusts to a good height too, it would be no problem for taller people. Electronic foot control for suction power adjustment. The unit also looks very nice in 'Obsidian Black'. Motor is very quiet, even on full power, and it doesn't have a irritating whistle or 'scream' like some other vacuum motors. Larger bits of debris are a bit difficult to get under to floor head for it to pick them up, as it seals to the floor so well. All you need to do is slightly lift the floor head, no drama. Also the standard floor head make a slight squeal as it's pulled back across tiled flooring. It's only slight however, but it may irritate some people so just give it a whirl in the shop, not sure if it would be worse on different hard floors either. These aren't really cons, just something to be aware of. They pale into insignificance with all the pros this vacuum has.
