Post Built Service - Too Bad! – We have been waiting for 2 years to get issues resolved after moving to house built by Mincove. Be careful and stay away!!! Despite repeat requests and follow ups, I eventually gave them a week's notice to go to the fair trading. I got a call on the last day advising that someone will be visiting home on 22 Aug. I sent a reminder just a day… Read more
before to ensure someone is really coming. No response and as suspected, no one showed up. I stayed home and spent whole day in anticipation. I had enough and now requesting Fair Trading to assist us.
Amazing – My partner and I made a decision to do a knockdown rebuild almost two years ago. After careful consideration, we found the house we wanted to spend the rest of our lives in and so began our journey with Mincove. The whole process was made a breeze from the first meeting, and this continued throughout our build. This was thanks to our Client… Read more
Liaison Officer Cathleen who was always available to help. However none of this would've been possible without our site foreman Phil. Throughout, he kept us up to date with the build progress being transparent, and he delivered. Which was amazing, especially when trying to coordinate with so many different trades, in a world where trades are so hard to come by. I know building one home was stressful, but having to build multiple homes at the same time I couldn't imagine. I don't envy his job and again wanted to pass on a big thank you him in particular.
New Home 2022 – In September 2022 we received the Keys for our new home. The quality of work on our build exceeded our expectations and we are beyond grateful for all Mincoves hard work. From our first meeting with James he was so knowledgeable, friendly and helped us through the early stages with no question being too silly . Brendan our site supervisor was… Read more
always informative on all the steps from construction stage right through to maintenance stage. All the ladies from administration to selections in between were always so helpful and prompt with their replies Thank you for building our forever home.
Mincove says they take pride – would not refer a friend to Mincove they have not returned to fix defects from a build in 2020. They pride themselves with the highest quality finishes etc. shocking plastering, basic carpentry was terrible, crooked doors, steel frame cut down and packed with stripped down Timbers to try and fix. Have tried to rectify without success and have no choice but to involve lawyers as nobody will return calls or just fix the issues. Shameful. Show details
Downright terrible – Honestly if you are looking for a company that is efficient, honest and worthy of your money go find another company. This company is slow, makes mistakes that out end up being a huge delay, bad communication, and drag out every single process. The built stage ongoing is 9 months and the delays are caused by their error. 9 months…. And still… Read more
can’t give me a timeframe from settlement. What a joke.
Yet houses around me have been started in Jan 22 and now completed.
The first home builders dream – We engaged Mincove homes to build an investment property at Calderwood around Sep 2020 (First home construction experience). This was after they clearly stood out from other builders during the pre-sale process by being being supportive and listening to our needs with regards to an uneven block with quite a slope. From the very get go, the Mincove… Read more
process was easy to follow, and all milestones were set out with expectations being set upfront. Once things got moving, we very quickly realised Mincove's experience in building and also with the local area. The show room and process in selecting variations and fittings was a great experience too. Then came the construction milestones, full communication at every stage, and surprisingly fast without compromise on quality, but also the complete handling of all situations with local council. This takes away the stress from project managing the build yourself. We reach handover stage last week (Nov 2021) so in just over a year we have a fully built 4 bedroom house with double garage. The majority of this time was predominantly waiting on banks and council. There was only a minor delay due to covid lockdowns, but otherwise Mincove reached the major milestones in very short time, overall construction actual process would have been achieved in around 5-6 months. Throughout the entire experience, we found Mincove personnel to be highly professional and friendly, but most of all patient with highly stressed out demanding first timers like us. I have left the most important part of this review til the end because I felt that too much emphasis is placed on cost and usually a cheaper price comes at a sacrifice to something else like quality, time or customer service. I can confidently say that Mincove beat all other tenders and quotes by a significant amount and now that the build is finished, I can happily say that the value for money is highly impressive, they have not compromised on quality. I cannot recommend Mincove highly enough, we will most certainly be building with them again and this is reminiscent of a number of folks who have built with them in the local area. They have managed to find the formula that works, reasonable price for a high quality build with plenty of options to customise, all while remaining in constant communication with you, resulting a very positive outcome - maximum score, the benchmark has been set.
Some bumps along the way, but a good build! – Prior to the build, customer service was good with James sorting out our initial tender. He took in our requirements and suggested a complete package. We found that we had to follow up a few times with some specific requests, but most ended up being ironed out. There were a couple of minor exceptions not really worth mentioning here. After we… Read more
accepted the contract, we were passed on to Natasha, the selections consultant, who was wonderful. She stepped us through all of the selections. The only thing that I can fault in this process is a relative lack of transparency in terms of price, but she was usually able to let us know what was likely to drive cost up or down. In the end, variations weren't too much, and we ended up changing a few things that ended up looking amazing!
The only part that was somewhat of a let down were the delays. We don't necessarily chalk this up to Mincove, but to the environment of COVID. However, there were was a lack of responsiveness sometimes that does not bode well when you have anxious customers who are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on a new home for the first time. At the beginning, the anxiety was mainly around the HomeBuilder grant. This all ended up being sorted.
The main drama that I found was at the end where our construction certificate seemed to be heavily delayed. Unfortunately, the communication on the admin side was much delayed. Eventually, however, everything ended up being sorted and handover was done. There was a frustrating moment where our site manager set up a handover appointment with us only to come back 5 minutes later stating that the occupation certificate had not been organised yet.
The build itself was great, albeit a bit delayed due to COVID. We ended up having a building shutdown right near the end of our build, which was incredibly frustrating. Throughout it all, the site manager Brendan was communicative and amazing. He even gave us his mobile number - didn't text him much, but the few times I did, he was pleasant and responsive and even got us in touch with a concretor to do our driveway after the house was built.
The finished product is well done. It was pretty much what we decided on in selections and everything seems to have been to a high standard! There are a few minor cosmetic dings, but everything seems sound and still looks great. If we had to build again, we wouldn't hesitate to consider them again. Of all the project builders in the local area, they have been honest, forthright, and incredibly helpful. Other than a few admin-related issues and their customer service responsiveness, we are happy.

My 2 year old builds a better sand castle… They remove all negative reviews from Facebook – Shower leaks, cooktop doesn’t light, paintwork is shocking! Taps are loose. Silicone is crap. it was all great at the start, but now they have our money, all downhill.. they banned me from their Facebook page after one comment stating that we are still finding defects after 12 months.. do yourself a favour and build with new living homes or masterton homes. So far so good! – The start of our build with Mincove has been outstanding. Starting with James at the display homes to Jodie, Anthea, Alana, Anita and Matt our site supervisor. Building in a lockdown has has some setbacks. Mincove have kept us up to date and have delivered! We look forward to the rest of our build and moving into our new home. Eleni & Justin Show details
No Stress in a stressful process – We built our first home with Mincove Homes and what we thought was going to be a very daunting and stressful process, quickly turned into a fun exciting adventure! build process went quite smooth with only a few minor speed humps that were quickly resolved without any issue. We always felt involved in the process and were never left in the dark. There were no hidden costs or changes that we were told other people had experienced in their builds with other companies. I cannot fault our experience at all and will definitely use Mincove Homes for any future builds. The workmanship and quality of our finished home is top notch. Any small issues that popped up after handover were quickly rectified without fuss or drama.
If you are nervous or on the fence as to whether or not you should build a new home, it is a must to chat with the team at Mincove Homes, they will put you at ease and will have a solution that will suit your needs. Cheers, Two very proud Mincove Home owners.
upset – Amateur builder. When we first meet with them they could not do enough for us, once we sign the paperwork things changed. We have had nothing but trouble with is build would never recommend them. Site manager was so rude things were changed with discussing with us. that installed the fridge did not connect properly and it leaked so we had to have our floor replaced but we had to wait until they put it through the insurance taps in the laundry also leaked, they had to replace the bath as it had cracks, we picked gloss tiles and they did a few mat tiles in between the gloss ones. carpets at doorway are terrible finish. Air Con did not work.
You can see the nails in the gyprock paint in horrible, and the site manager said it was not his problem well why have a site manager he should be checking all of this.
they never answer my phone call, and when they did they always said they were trying to find someone to come and fix it. All we wanted and we paid for extras was a finish like there display homes not much to ask
Mincove make building easy!!! – So many people told us that the building Process is stressful - not with Mincove. They made the whole process easy from start to finish and we enjoyed the experience. A quality build at an affordable price. We love our home and can’t believe our dream home came true. Highly recommended. Show details

Mincove = Quality – If you're looking for a Quality home with finishing's to match, look no further than Mincove. The fixed price contract we signed off on two years ago didn't change. However, dirt removal & hitting rock was additional (and we were aware of this).
A big thanks to everyone at Mincove who helped along the way. A special thanks to Craig (AKA Poppy) our building Supervisor who was fantastic during the build, and above all a great bloke.

Great custom build – Not many building companies do custom builds, but Mincove came to task and built our Hampton inspired 4 bedroom house and 1 bedroom unit. Excellent quality and fast customer service. No issue was too hard to resolve and detailed answers always were forth coming when Mincove was approached with concerns. Superior – Our intention from the very start was to build a house that will become our home for life. We just knew that Mincove would be our builder from the moment we stepped foot in their display homes in Calderwood and Shell Cove, and were greeted by their fantastic staff. Our home became a custom build due to the nature of our block of land, and Mincove… Read more
being Mincove were more than happy to help us achieve our dream. Our home is beautiful in design, Superior in quality and filled with top end appliances. Being a local builder, we love how everything was just a short drive away, it was convenient, and such a generous amount of bricks, tiles etc to choose from. Nothing was too hard for Mincove. We have been proud to tell our family and friends that we have built with Mincove homes. Mincove are really Homes for Life.
Eagerly awaiting our Mincove home! – Our experience with Mincove Homes to date has been extremely easy going and professional. understanding friendly and always keen to discuss any aspect of the plan or ideas we had. We also attended a Selection Day with some trepidation as we didn’t know what to expect eg.color schemes, kitchen and bathroom decor etc. but from the onset Alana’s expertise made us feel comfortable and assured us we would get through the day. Thanks to Alana for your professional opinion and guidance we made our selections with ease. Our variations requests were clearly itemized and we were pleased with the outcome. Our plans are currently being processed in local council and look forward to the construction of our Mincove home in the near future. Two main factors that make Mincove stand out amongst other builders is that they support local businesses and you could feel a sense of family that emanates through all the staff we have interacted with to date Dennis and Connie
Wow!!! Very Happy So Far – The thought of building our 1st home on our new block of land was so overwhelming but, regardless we started on our journey with a visit to both the display homes at Calderwood & Shellcove. was so informative, We felt comfortable straight away with her and we decided Mincove was the one. Our home is a custom build so, we knew it would take a bit of work to relay the home we had in our minds. Each time our prelim plans arrived, we were straight in to discuss with Lesley. With every change we made and there were quite a few believe me, it was never a problem. After the 6th prelim plan we were ready to go. Selection day came around and that too was a day that I was dreading as I can be so indecisive. We met with Alana who straight away assured us it will be fine. We really couldn't have got through the day without her expertise and guidance with helping us choose absolutely everything that we needed to start the build of our new home. Even as of today I have made a couple of further requests and Alana has been more than accommodating. Plans are in council and we now await the next part of our journey. We are so happy with the process so far and the attentiveness we have received from everyone we have dealt with at Mincove and are so confident we will be back here on this same site reviewing how beautiful our home is wen it is completed next year.
Highly Recommend Mincove Homes – Highly Recommend Mincove Homes. We are currently building a Custom Dual Occupancy on a sloping block with Mincove Homes. Build was OK and but trades and customer service could have been better – At the start it was all good, building built on time. Hand over was rushed so we missed a couple imperfection here and there and that's what the 3 months maintenance period is for. They came assessed and said they will fix some and not do some because that not a warranty issue or a defect for example and internal door that is bowed should have… Read more
been replaced but wasn't and supposedly fixed still doesn't close properly and pops open randomly especially when there is a draft. Had an internal plumbing issue where i was hearing a tapping noise everytime the dishwasher and sink was in use which was fixed after some time once I could take off work to allow for the trades to come and do there job. To do this ceilings and wall were cut open to access the pipes and because the gyprocker wasn't organised after and couldn't come at the same time i had to take more time off work to allow the gyprocker to come then i had to take time off again for the painter for the painter. A couple days later the the noise came back and more time off (wasted annual leave) again because trades came at different days... this is poor management and a lot of MY time wasted. Not long after i got landscaping started and previously i had asked the supervisor and plumber which down pipes were charged and not and where the pipes were. And to note there was always a muddy spot infront of my house. The inspector looked under the house behind the wall and it was dry. Weird but thought nothing of it and he didn't say there was an issue. So when the landscaper started digging keeping in mind where the pipes are he found a supposed charged pipe that wasnt even connected which explains the muddy patch and when i called the builder and ask they straight away blamed the the landscaper but when the plumber came to site he blamed his own apprentice. So the two DPs that should have been feeding my water tank there was only one was working and the other filling up with mud. The maintenance guy said he would get the pipe cleared out and capped by the plumber but that never happened. The carpet started tearing at the entry to most bedrooms they supposedly fixed it but still happening there were gaps at the walls underlay was patchy. There were stains on my tiles which the maintenance guy said he removed and were cause by the final inspection from the staff and dirty tiles. But a house should have been cleaned before hand over and now the best the kitchen bulk head has a crack right in the middle they have come patched and painted 7 times and its still the same cracked and crap. Now my walls and ceiling is still unpainted from the plumbing issue and my kitchen still cracked and they want me to make the time and lose pay to have people come and do the repairs.
Ill do my own thank you. Once a builder blames the trades they hire to build a house its not the trades problem it should have been the builders responsibility to check and make sure the trade used is living upto the builders standard so when something is handed over there is no blame game or finger pointing.

Amateur Builder – Amateur builder with deceptive sale tactics. There staff have zero care factor other than taking your money off. these in estimate without informing us to bring down their estimate price). They are very expensive for their quality of build and don't provide you any price breakdown, other than lump sum. Also I found that their fixed price tender is not actually fixed (there are fine prints in their tender favoring towards them to seek variations in certain conditions). Do not recommend this company unless you do not value for your money.

Home sweet Home – The quality of build on our new home was excellent. Redgum Ridge Build – My wife and I built our house through Mincove in Redgum Ridge estate Figtree. The overall cost was within our budget and we are happy to say there were no surprises.
There were some rain delays throughout the build, the house was only a few weeks over schedule due to this. The supervisor was great to deal with and always kept us well informed.

It’s the house that’s special to us – it works…and works beautifully – We chose the Mincove Bega plan, which gave us a 3-bedroom house with a generous, open-plan, living-dining-kitchen area and an adjoining double garage backing onto the rear laneway; the exact plan that would meet all our criteria to make this our next and last house as we moved into full retirement.
