Lancer hatchback vr 2011 – I love the engine never had a problem knocking on wood. Paint is shocking it started peeling after i had the car for a year and mitsibishi would not fix it. The breaks squeel when reversing and everyone said thats fine but i hate it. And slowly things started to break like automatic windscreen wipers play up 1 of my back side door doesnt lock. Amd… Read more

If I could rate it a zero, I would – I purchase my Lancer brand new in 2016, I should have known from the start that it was going to give me grief. To start off with, I ordered a different one to what I received and when I told the sales agent this he told me that "they are all the same so just take it". Me being young and clueless as to what my rights were, I left with the Lancer.… Read more
The first few months were fantastic, no issues, no worries and no sleepless nights. Christmas day of that year, I went to start the car and it wouldn't click over. Eventually, it kicked over and the car was blowing out black smoke and just did not sound like a car. I took it to mitsi and they basically laughed in my face because I am a female and couldn't describe it the way they wanted me to. They "checked" over the car (while I was watching mind you and the car did not move let alone someone walking over to it to test it). Took it home and hoped for the best. These days, my suspension is very soft which is ruining my rear tyres but apparently this is above mitsi standards so bad luck. I also have a transmission issue which they refuse to fix. The car is still under warranty, just!
I will never ever buy a Mitsubishi product again, whether it is a car on something electrical.
Excellent value for money – So far this car has been a pleasure to own. Amazing technology and performance for the money (especially for its time), decent quality interior and looks the part as standard - even better with a few cosmetic changes. The dual clutch auto is technically a very good gearbox - shifts very smoothly in normal mode, sport mode holds the revs very… Read more
high and makes gear changes harder and faster - it isn't a setting you'd normally drive around town in - it's specifically for going quick for a short period of time (overtaking, spirited driving down a mountain etc). I like to drive in manual sports, it allows you to be in whatever gear you want + faster shifts. I find auto mode in hilly residential areas a pain - the car often doesn't know what gear to be in & fumbles around, but that's easily fixed by flicking across to manual mode. No big deal.
Engine performance is definitely adequate for a daily driver, but be warned this car will drink gas like no tomorrow. Generally costs about $70-$80 for a full tank (98 required) and will be lucky to get 300km city driving out of a tank. To put this in perspective I filled up in the morning, drove to work and had some reasonably heavy traffic along the way (30km drive) and the car had used just under a quarter of a tank (only driving to work, not return).
Overall it's a great car - just make sure you keep it regularly serviced and it shouldn't give you any big problems.
Fantastic little car! – The driving experience in this car actually feels quite sporty! Mine is a Manual transmission 2.0L Engine that's fairly powerful for what it is, the Notchy Box feels Great, but I do dislike such a soft clutch! On the highway my best economy is 6.2/100km on a long run being the best run from Warwick, QLD - The Entrance, NSW a distance over 736km on… Read more
one tank! I always buy the best for my car fuel wise, no expense spared with cost so usually Naturally I Choose BP Ultimate 98 Octane in any car I drive.
I have owned this car since Brand new and have NEVER had any reliability issues with the car! Servicing has been carried out On time Everytime! and usually does about 1000km a week without fail! it is by far the best car I have ever owned, have owned it now for 4 and a half years and don't intend on changing anytime soon!
What I do dislike about this car is comfort on the highway, having just returned from Sydney, I live in Maryborough QLD, I have a bad back and could really feel the bad back arcing up! I do love the ease of controls and interior of the car, basic, and simple, cruise control to Mitsubishi Link System all of which is great! The Legroom for me is good, and even a mate commented on this he's taller then I and I'm 6'3!
The car has 7 Airbags, and a ANCAP of 5. I love this little car and the reliability will leave me wanting the Luxury version of something slightly higher off the ground, An ASX with leather seats, but in all honesty Mitsubishi have come a long way! Trust me I had Magnas! I said never again mitsi, but glad to say I gave them a go and saw how well they now have done! This car now has about 85,000km on it and has at least triple this left in it! way to go Mitsubishi!
Id recommend this car to anyone, I have a wife and 2 kids, it stands the family test real well!

Best Car I Have Ever Owned – Bought one of these new in 2014 and owned it for 6 years, great car and have not had a single issue with it (I have over 102,000 kms on it) Show details
So bloody reliable – Bought second hand back in 2014 for $10.5K. my best investment ever. Might not be the prettiest car but it sure is reliable. We have treated Lance poorly, gotten the car bogged, taken it places we probably shouldn't have and it's never let us down. Honestly, the best $10.5K I could have ever spent and I feel very loyal now to the Mitsubishi brand.… Read more
Contemplating buying a Triton for some off road adventures. But I'll keep Lance going as my city car until the bitter end!
Still miss this car – Bought one of these new in 2014 and owned it for 5 years, great car to have for no issues with a good mix of efficiency and power from the 2.4L mivec. Great handler and a fun car to drive that was ahead of its time in looks. I think this car still looks better than a lot of new cars coming out in this segment today. Show details

Love the car but fuel consumption is expensive – I have owned my beautiful Mitsi Lancer Ralliart for just over 2 years. I love everything about this car except that this car does a maximum of 350km to 380km a full tank and has to use Premium 98 petrol. The car is beautiful inside and is amazingly stunning on the outside. Show details
expensive to fix man – This car is good if you maintain it properly. However, it is very expensive to fix even just for a low speed crash. Can go to 10000! I assume the lancer has a bad product quality regarding product itself, not referring to the passengers safety. So if you broken ur lancer better just get rid of it and move on! Typical Japanese car. And sometime ABS does not work at all. So forget about it and go whatever else! Show details
Ok- bad on petrol – It's a nice zippy little car, but it's petrol hungry, drives rough and suspension seem too hard. Otherwise I love the look of it, and love the way it handles corners quickly and smoothly, love the cruise control and chilly air con- however this takes AGES to get cold in summer compared to other cars. Best New car – I have been using My Lancer as a daily driver since new and would rate this the best 4 cylinder car i have ever owned. i have this car service every 12 months as per the service manual i have had no problems with this car since purchase. Show details
Paint Peeling. ABS light unable to fix – Car is only 100,000 km's and paint started to peel extremely bad all over car. At around 60,000 km's An ABS light come on and no one can fix it apparently only special people can. Mitsubishi dont want anything to do with it Show details
Reliable AF, good all rounder – I went on a search for a second hand car with decent looks, reliability and full of extras which led me to a Lancer VRX. I've owned one for nearly three years now ( 8 years old when I purchased it ) and it's given me no issues at all. It just keeps going and going. Lots of features , decent servicing prices, decent power and economy. Just a great all rounder. Show details

Now at 260000km – this is an update - we have driven another 80000km since the last update. The Lancer has now done 260000 faultless km. Nothing has been needed apart from tyres and maintenence oil and filter every 10k and a battery at 9 years old [about 5 years ago now] I still say "What a great little car. Just the right balance of ride & handling power &… Read more
economy" .
Road noise is a bit tyre-dependant... but what a pain free terrific, honest car! I was , and still am, amazed they are so cheap to buy CJ Lancer is an under-rated value proposition.
A good car – Recently purchased A 2008 VRX manual 2.4 for a second car very impressed with the power from the 2.4 ltr , 5 star ancap rating, handles great good brakes, the only gripe is there is some road noise but can be fixed with some sound proofing. Good size boot for a car of this size, also the engine has a timing chain not at belt that needs replacing every 90,000km :) Good proven engine. Show details
Love my Lancer! – This is my third Lancer and I have yet to be disappointed. The economy and driving experience are very good, and it looks pretty stylish too. Repairs are relatively inexpensive. My only criticism is that the build seems a bit tinny, and I don't think it would do well in a bingle. Show details
Loved having this car! – I got a 2009 model (automatic) in September 2011 and owned it until March 2019 (only sold because I moved overseas). Over the 8 years, no issues with the car other than two re-calls which Mitsubishi fixed immediately. I got it serviced when required as per mechanic and considering I used it a lot for work everyday, very happy with no issues, just the standard brakes, tyres etc. Cost about $60 to fill up and so efficient. mitsubishi lancer vr 2008 – its a reliable car that has never broken down, value for money with fuel economy even after all these years it still runs the same as the first day i brought it. zippy and compact than another 4 door normal family sedan Show details
Excellent – I have the manual version of the lancer SX MY11. This car has been very promising. It is durable and has yet to cause any problems. The interior is a little outdated, but I swapped the headunit for a touch screen aftermarket, giving it a great look. It is responsive and a fun drive. The paint job is an issue though, i have noticed the clear coat… Read more
peeling off ever so slightly already which is quite worrying. All in all, mechanically it is top notch, but the paint work is something that mitsubishi really should have paid closer attention to.
Best money spent – My boyfriend and I have Lancer, never had a single problem with it. :) My partner is a mechanic and recommended me to buy this car over any car! Transmission is smooth, aircon works really great. I drive to uni and for placements which is a bit of a distance but never had any problems. Amazing car! Show details
Good old car – Car is now 10 years old and bought second hand. Previous owner clearly didn't look after it well due to paint chips scratches and stone chips being all over the paintwork. Mechanically, it still runs perfectly after 170 000km and feels reliable to drive. Would recommend Lancers if you're looking for a good reliable car, just watch out for paint peel on the older models. Show details
Love my Lancer, won’t buy another vehicle – I purchased my 2014 Lancer as an ex demo model with lots of optional extras like tinted windows, sat nav, camera and reversing sensors. Love my Lancer! Has so much room for a mid sized sedan. I can fit three adults and two car seats in plus a weeks shopping in the boot. Show details

Love my car – Drives really easily and smoothly, bought it as a company owned vehicle so it was treated really well which was good. I wish I had a AUX or a USB plug in, but i know that the newer models have this so when i upgrade will make sure to double check. Costs between $50-70 to fill up, depending on petrol prices. I will also make sure it is not CVT, because thats the one thing i dont like about the car. Show details
So dissapointing – We've previously had two Lancers (both 1990's models) which were awesome. Unbreakable. Bought this Lancer expecting it to be the same quality. Nope. Terrible road noise (vaguely improved with the addition of very expensive tyres), random engine noises, awful clunky manual gearbox, cheap poor quality foam seats. The only decent thing about this… Read more
car was the design. It looked great. Mitsubishi obviously put money into design and not much else nowdays. Will never buy again.
Traded this junk on a Hyundai i30 which is awesome. Lost a lot of money with this crap car. Glad I got rid of it as I heard they have now recalled them due to serious engine fault.
Perfect vehicle for safe comfortable country trips – Good for overtaking road trains on country trips. Very reliable & economical & not expensive for services. Very comfortable leather seats. Plenty of room in the back, front & boot. Seats fold down for extra boot room if required. Very little road noise. Good surround sound system. Very good safe car. My daughter is very happy with her purchase. Show details
Nice, practical car – The driving experience is pretty good. The engine is a bit noisy but you get used to it. if you like cars that make sounds this is the type of car for you. The performance is good too. it can go from 0 to 100 real fast and the driving is smooth. the brakes are the best. people, there is ample leg room the lights are red for interior which makes it sort of a sportish look. the car is reliable. but has had 2 recalls in the past about the drive belt and the airbags. the running costs are not too bad full tank s about $50 and service been about $300
Perfect Car – Car is very reliable, good on petrol and there are minimal mechanical issues. Sufficient leg space for all people in the car, especially with boot space in the hatchback version. The car looks good, runs good and does not fail to get you from A to B. Great car overall! Show details

The side strip on the car door has also had the silver peel off and go black when taking it to Mitsubishi they tell me that I need to get the whole side door penal replaced which is a very expensive fix.
There is no other problems with the car just those two things.
Love the feel of the ride – This model came with the touch screen and leather seats with seat warmer. This is by far the best purchase and I cannot live without it. Usually I hate driving in winter but the seat warmers make it enjoyable. The ride is very smooth since the handling is pretty good. Show details
Gets the job done – The Lancer's performance yearns for more. Likening the normal Lancer's performance to the Evolution's would make it a much more pleasure to drive. Nonetheless, it gets the job done. It is rather fuel efficient, and has handy indicators regarding fuel use. With the Aspire variant, the interior is significantly nicer. accents, many compliments have been directed at the luxurious feel of the vehicle. Legroom in the backseats are limited, but is a pleasure to drive.
Best first car! – I love love love my sexy red active lancer 2010! This was my first car (from starting on my P's and now i am full license). It runs smoothly, doesnt use up too much petrol and its a good looking car! I have an automatic version and love it. I am currently on 210,000kms and its running great and the services are only costing me around $3-400 mark. Great little car, highly recommend it! Show details
Amazing first car – Driving is smooth, this was the baseline cj es model sedan. I brought it brand new as I wanted assurance that my next car would not break down and cost me excess money. Manual version here, fuel efficient one tank of 91 gets from Brisbane to Sydney. Capped price servicing 250$ with five years warranty and free road side assistance. * if you follow they service schedule. 50000km 3.5 years and not a single issue. Happy customer here. Show details
My 2nd Lancer and just as impressive as the 1st one – I have the 2.4L 2009 Lancer Aspire and it is a fantastic car. I test drove a lot of cars in this sedan price range and found most of them sluggish. I actually wanted something different as I had a Lancer previously so drove this car last. In the end though this was the best of the lot. The performance as you would expect from a 2.4L engine… Read more
was fantastic as was the handling.
The interior was a big selling point to me. It had leather seats with wood grain trim on the dashboard. I've taken a look at the current 2017 model as I was interested in upgrading and was shocked to see that the 2017 model was almost identical in every way inside to the 2009 model. Only the Mitsubishi Multimedia Center was upgraded.
I would definitely look at buying a Mitsubishi again if they significantly changed the newer models.... but as mine is 9 years old and still has the same styling and interior as todays car I haven't upgraded yet.
Mitsubishi Lancer – Medium range car. Interior is not great. Lots of plastic. Dashboard is huge could of been better use of that space. Passenger seat legroom is not sufficient. Capped price servicing is a relief. Handling is ok. Outlook is not bad. Overall happy with the car. A good value for money family car. Show details
Mate, she's a ripper – I bought 2nd hand, but with very low k's. Love the car, my 3rd Mitsy and the best. Quiet, powerful, smooth ride and great handling. Only down side, is the servicing, it's mainly only checking items (check liquid levels, check brakes, check.... check... and so on), Great interior and lay out of cabin. Reliable and good on fuel Show details
