Value for money efficient air conditioner – We've had this since late 2017, really performs well in our high ceiling queenslander. The external unit is underneath the house, it's really quiet. We've been using during the winter months and the heating cycle works well and is cost efficient to run, uses less kwh then our oil heater. Have some problems with the ac remote, sometimes can stop… Read more

working (have replaced batteries), have to turn the remote on and off to change the temperature or use other remote options, this doesn't happen very often. I would buy this brand again.

Really Happy with Product and Service – Great at cooling down our open plan living/dining/kitchen. I don’t find it’s as good at heating, but I tend to get cold easily. We had an issue recently where the air conditioner started making a strange noise and Mitsubishi sent out a repair guy straight away who fixed it - they were very easy to deal with.  Show details

Quick quiet warmth – Almost instant warmth. Very quiet operation and heats a big living area. It complements the old gas heater I have but I always put it on first thing in the morning while I get breakfast. Summer is coming and I look forward to the air conditioner cooling the family room and also my bedroom. Love the white colour, it blends nicely with my white European blinds and looks unobtrusive.  Show details

The Ice Box – I am very happy with the product. It starts up quickly and quietly. Cooling a 48sq/m area in just seconds. Heating a 48sq/m area in under a minute. The installation was quick and efficient. Note to installing the outside unit-have a cement area placed in situ prior to installation, otherwise the electricians will use a plastic mount system. unit is very simple to use and very user friendly. Product installation note for all Mitsubishi Air Conditioners-when the electrician install the unit make sure they silicone all piping and electrical areas outside and inside. Spray Lanolin to all external areas around base of unit to prevent ants making their nest inside unit on main system board. If ants make their nest inside the unit and damage it, it is not covered under warranty and you will be up for a new system board (not cheap). Mitsubishi Heavy Industries advises all their installers of this requirement, but I had a local electrician install mine at the request of the store I bought it off (not a happy camper).

Good and convenient – Yes I am happy with the unit's cooling and heating performance. The unit has reasonable noisy that it could be well accepted. The installation was not good. It was actually leaking gas at the first time. So I had to call the installer again to fix it. And it took him three times to finally fix it.  Show details

Fantastic product - so glad I purchased – This is a very efficient and quite economical split system and I'm very happy that we purchased and installed. Seems to work extremely well - very quick to heat the majority of our quite large house, while being very quiet. The only issue is the amount of condensation, but I guess it's just pulling moisture from the air - will have to pipe this… Read more

out to our garden using some kind of hose. All-in-all though, great split system which will be used in our household primarily for heating during winter, rather than our gas ducted heating.

Quiet and so good at cooling in the 40 degree temps of late – Awesome air con unit. Very happy, works amazing, so quiet even on the maximum speed, etc. Install was quick and easy, the guys only took a few hours to install. Easy to use remote. I highly recommend this unit. After reading the Choice reviews and seeing it was number 1 for being quiet and energy efficient I didn't hesitate. I have bought Mitsubishi before and never had any problems so I trust the brand.  Show details

Very happy with the SRK63ZMA-S – We have this installed in our apartment living room and we are very happy with it! On low-medium fan speed the indoor and outdoor units are whisper quiet, so much so that we aren't worried about noise for the neighbours late at night. Even on medium/high the sound is unobtrusive. Great features and works perfectly!

AHHHHH - No going back now! – Our house is all wrong! We planned it soooo carefully too. Massive double storey, designed having utter regard for sustainable practices - heaps of windows to take advantage of the breezes, northerly aspect. It was being built on a little rise on our 13 acre rural block, and we were going it alone with our power. The grid was only 80 metres… Read more

away, but we went with a stand alone battery solar system. There was NEVER going to be A/C - we had followed all the guidelines, so we'd never need it!!

Our house would have been just perfect by the sea. It isn't by the sea. What's the use of a hundred large picture windows if the breeze is preheated to an industrial 44 degrees?

Those first few years were sheer hell (literally!). We spent $18K putting in roller shutters on the main huge windows, which helped but all of our chocolate still melted - sacrilege and the thermometer showed a drop from 43 degrees inside in summer to a much better (!!) 39.

So when the gov't announced they were gonna pay 44c per Kw exported from rooftop solar back in 2011 we grabbed the opportunity, threw 81 panels on our roof and put in a 15Kw grid connect/feed system.

Now, what to splash all that free power around on.

TaDa..A/C!!

We researched the purchase for over 2 years - the model which came up trumps in successive Choice Magazine testing was the Mitsubishi Heavy SRK63. We've been with Choice for over 3 decades, and knew they didn't back lemons, so we went with 2 of the above units.

They are mounted one each side of a massive void above our open kitchen/living areas. On one side is an upstairs play/TV area, and the opposite side is our massive open master bedroom area.

The installer felt that either one huge AC would work or 2 largish medium models. The SRK92 model read up very well too but we were able to get the 2 X SRK63 for not a whole lot more than the big fella, and the weight involved meant that the 2 units would be a lot kinder to the house exterior. Not to mention having the ability to only have one running on those in-between days.

We were simply amazed the first time we turned one on - it was an unusually hot 40 degree Spring day, and the extracted water at first dripped from the discharge pipe, after a little while it began to run as a steady flow, eventually running like a hose turned to low - we simply could NOT believe that there was this much moisture embedded into our air!

We had set both units to maintain 27 degrees believe me, when you are accustomed to 39 degrees inside in summer, 27 feels like Alaska!!

On that first day, the single unit was easily able to hold the interior at that 27 degree mark - 26.8 in fact.

Later in summer we have had to deploy both at once as we knew we would, when the humidity began to climb, and 40 degree days became the norm. There has not been a day yet when the units operating in tandem haven't been able to maintain that 27 degree limit.

The other unexpected bonus is that they are able to keep the whole damned house cool, all the way down the hallway into the huge bedrooms, even the downstairs toilet a way down the hall and off in a little alcove. Obviously not the 26 point something recorded at the units but certainly a massive drop from the 39 degrees pre- A/C.

So we are very happy. The units have been in now for over 4 months and not only do we have no regrets, we are mad that we didn't do it 4 years ago!! The filters are a breeze to access and clean; the remotes are totally intuitive, they have every feature we could possibly need, and the units can recognise them from away across the void. What more could you ask for!!

Roll on those blustery, rainy winter days, we have a nice wood burning heater but I have a funny idea that Messrs Mitsubishi are going to come out to play as well!!

Intact chocolate, bliss!!!
