found I have experienced many of the poor service points raised by others.

In particular, the blaming of software issues, when my troubles have been there from day one.

With a system that locks up semi regularly, an error message when restarting suggests the problem relates to an earlier version of windows which had been installed - in other words it appears my Windows 10 system purchased was not originally loaded with, but upgraded to W10.

The Venom Extended Care for BlackBook Zero purchased was not included in their records initially and had to be separately registered which, like their ticket submission for help process, was less straightforward than it should be.

Also interesting is the fact that I received diametrically opposing advice from Richmond and West Melbourne on the same issues raised, consequently judging on my experience, there is only a 50% chance at best of receiving correct advice, and rather than professionally assisting, both adopted a very confrontational approach.

Good People, Fair, Honest Company to Deal With – I purchased a Lenovo G560 in 2011 with UEE warranty. I was very upset to find out that UEE extended warranty I purchased through MLN was now useless, as UEE has gone bankrupt. or refunds for items under UEE. I was not expecting much from MLN after finding out about all this because it seems that everyone who had the same problem were not able to get free repairs.

I should say they were fantastic to deal with, I spoke to a chap named [name removed], who looked really hard to find my original tax invoice so my purchase could be verified. I am sure that if they did not want to help me they would have not had to find the invoice.after verifying my purchase, they told me the situation with UEE and offered me a free repair. I took my computer to MLN they repaired my computer FREE for a repair total value of $460.

I would like for others to know about my positive experience and I genuinely beleive there are very few companies out there that are willing to help their customers this much. I will be going back to purchase a new computer.

have not been better. The staff were very helpful, knowledgeable. I like the professionalism they have and will definitely be buying more computers from them. I followed their recommendation and i think if I had not considering what I was initially thinking to purchase I don't think I would have been satisfied. Everybody I spoke to was good, I first called and enquired and spoke to a young man, who did really well in answering my questions over the phone. I came in store and spoke to one of the reps who had the same positive helpful attitude as the first person I spoke too. After my purchase the staff member took me through an introduction and a handover, which was fantastic, something that you don't get when you buy computers from Harvey Norman. I always like to hear about usage tips and someone to show me and run me through new technologies and features which is what they did with my Venom. Thumbs up from me

Unprofessional! – Purchased a custom built computer from the west melbourne store, the guy who served us was not helpful at all. We told him that we wanted a gaming only computer so when he asked us if we wanted a dvd drive we said no, not knowing that cdrom drive is now called dvd drive. games you will need a dvd drive as that is the NEW cdrom drive.

Also wanted a specific harddrive which they never put in, instead put in another brand without even telling us. If you pay for and pick a specific brand and model they should atleast tell you it may need to be replaced if that product is out of stock.

They kept on delaying the time of which our computer would be ready of which we had to call them as they did not communicate with us.

Finally they didnt even ask for a reciept when my husband went to collect the comp which is very unprofessional as they didnt even know who he was, He just walked in and they just gave him the computer. He could have been anyone.

Now i have seen a computer at Aldi for gaming with better specs for 1000 dollars cheaper.

Never again.

Email Spammers – *We have not had any retail dealings with this company, and can not comment on that aspect of their business We do however receive copious daily email spam from - dealalerts@mln.com.au These emails are received at addresses that are non existent or have never been used. confirmed and could not possibly have been double-opt-in.

Additionally these emails break Australian law, as they do not have unsubscribe links within the email.

We do not and have not ever done business with email spammers, and advise all clients to do the same.

Terrible after service support. Fixed with wrong part and took weeks to finally have back – Wrong replacement screen put on the computer. They tried to give me inferior glossy screen rather than the matt screen they advertise so strongly. Given excuse after excuse. Next time I will have it repaired from a competitor, even if it costs me double.

This firm was recommended by my tech support group. My computer had crashed and I couldn't access my data. I was able to take my computer to the owners home . Data saved and as I was ready to purchase a new computer I followed the recommendations. It was installed in my home promptly. Show details

Best place to buy a PC – My laptop had just died and i needed the data transferred as well as advice on a machine that was future proof. The team there did the data transfer and setup my new machine within 24 hours. The new laptop is fantastic.

BlackBook 17. This has been the best computer i have ever owned, i had to go back to the store because i had an issue with Skype, the technician knew exactly what to do and it was fixed in a short time. I recommend MLN to anyone who is looking for a good range of quality laptops, they know their products and employ very helpful and honest staff members.

Buyers beware – The guy at Essendon has no knowledge of computer and extremely rude. The PC started displaying the blue screen of dead in less than 1 week and he blamed it on Windows. I had to use the additional warranty (promoted by MLN) which I purchased to replace the faulty memory. Would have given these guys a zero star rating instead of one star if this review could be submitted without any star rating.

very bad customer service – i bought charger for laptop. they claimed genuine matching model to my laptop but when i got it is no where close to original charger what I have. can't trust these guys.

Pre-Order Non Delivery – Pre Ordered an ASUS G751JY on the 23rd of January 2015. Laptop still hasn't arrived... it's now the 9th of April 2015. I wish the online division for MLN were as decent as the brick and mortar stores in Melbourne.

One of the reasons why I think that the laptop failed to deliver was because they advertised a price lower than what they were willing to pass as an acceptable profit margin.

Lower Price for Pre-Orders to attract customers to placing a pre-order.

I feel like I was the only one to order the laptop, which meant that they would be making a loss on my sale, or the profit margin would be minimal, so it's reflected back in their customer service regarding my order.

"We're making a loss on this sale, so who cares... we're better off if he asks for a refund"

Which I did ask for... but that's when they blocked my email address to prevent any further communication.

very poor experience at Richmond MLN store – We bought a Venom computer desktop from Richmond store in 2011. After initially failing to start - returned to store. The working damaged desktop remained unfixed for 2.5 years.

Returned Venom computer to shop in 23rd Dec 2014.

I was assured by Paul at Richmond store that there were no other customer complaints about the "Venom" model and that I should have returned it in 2011.

Informed him that we lived with the defective computer for son's VCE

Desktop out of Warranty.

Charged another $375 to replace case clean desktop, and diagnostics (defectively installed in 2011)

Picked up the desktop on Sat 27th of Dec - Computer does not start - No device found.

Examination of Desktop reveals

1. No power connect to Hard Drive

2. DVD has power connector improperly plugged in

MLN Richmond Store – Fantastic service from these boys and they saved me heaps. Had external hard drive issues and rather than pay a quoted $700 + from two data recovery companies, took it to these guys for a third opinion and the only problem was new hard drive caddy which they fitted for me. Total cost $35 and all my photos, movies and music are all still in tact. Thanks to Vicaly and Sam. Highly recomended.

Great service at the Richmond Store – I am an older person who is not that savvy with my lap top but Paul and Sam at the Richmond store were so helpful would recommend these guys for sure

My personal experience – I ordered an ASUS laptop at the west melbourne MLN and it arrived in 4 days. I noticed that one of the components did not match the specs as described in the website. They explained me that it was not the standard for that machine. Nonetheless, they did not questioned, they upgraded in 20 minutes, and apologised for taking too long (!?). I wish services everywhere were efficient as this...

return with the goods to the store and he would have it all up and running. This he could not achieve and had their technician look at it. He also could not get it operational, saying the issue was the hardware items were incompatible. I then asked for a refund and left the products with them, the salesperson refused and said I should take them with me, I left all the items with them.

After many attempts at contacting them and they always avoiding the issue, I proceeded to VCAT where they did not show. An order was made for the full refund, which to date they have not complied with.

Great place to buy a computer – Superb computer offering, I was happy very to be shown some options and given a choice that works for me.
