Patiolock version does exactly as advertised. Partner and I installed it in just over an hour and a half. No tools needed, no drilling or transferring locks. I did need to read some of the instructions a few times and look at the pictures to figure out a few of the steps. Door seems to be good quality and secure. Great for renting!! NOISE Noise, oh dear, whoosh, thomp, whoosh …. the actual door is noisy when dogs make their way through it, too bad that the sliding door it’s gone into is beside our bedroom
THE DOOR The door is made from perspex and as a small dog passes, it drags across it back - now to find an alternate door to replace this with a silicon or softer product
THE JOINING PANEL FOR GLASS AND SECURITY DOOR The panel that allows both glass sliding door and security door to lock against the dog door panel is not suitable for all set ups. , We’ve gone and had to pay $250 to have one custom made to allow for the wider distance between our glass sliding door and security door.
The issue here is that, the panel used to secure both glass door and security doors is useless if you have stacker doors. Due to the 3 stacker doors, the track they run along creates more distance between the the glass door and security door, therefore the panel which is supposed to allow for both doors to lock in place and meet with the dog door panel unusable!
With the time that went into installing this ( so many extra pieces we had no idea what to with)we could have gone with a generic product as we had previously in another home and had our security door people customise a panel with which to lock both security and glass door into the doggy door panel - probably cost more but wow, what I could have done with time it took to put this together!
i would suggest exploring your options and making an informed choice - we settled with the video we watch produced by Modern Pet Door and thought we’d get a product we could put into place without much investment, drill a few holes here and away we go, but no!
I’d suggest to Modern Pet Doors, to upload a picture of the pieces that the customer (disclosure) will be required to put navigate, that way customers are fully aware and can make an informed choice

My new pet door – I am so happy with my pet door. It is a very sturdy and well made door compared to the other door I bought when I had smaller dogs. It arrived in half the time that was estimated. seem to forget that this is a small family run business!!!!! Yes, sometimes correspondence was delayed but the owner himself was always apologetic and transparent. When my door arrived, I had a couple of issues and without requesting anything, I wax sent a new door promptly- which I did not expect.
The issue I had with other doors we purchased were the same issues: The largest were not even large enough to fit my husky through the door; The door flap was so low to the ground- it came up to his knees which was a joke! The doors could not be secured properly so with severe winds they would either fall out entirely or fall out if he tried to get out- because they were low. Modern pet doors have covered all issues that relate to large dogs. As we rent, we have not screwed this one into the wall, we literally just have the extender secure it in place- that way we can slide it across everytime we slide our door open. The door has never fallen out and is so sturdy even just using the extender! Coming into winter, we can feel the draft through the flap so instead of using the little door for the flap- we just lower the extender and take the entire door out each night.
If I had to complain about something, it would be that the hook on one side is just a bit too short to fully latch onto my door- but as it’s not permanently secured, it’s zero issue because my sliding doors on each side still close. During the warmer months, we move the panel onto the security wire door track so we can get the nice breeze.
You’ll see my model demonstrating in the photos (who stands with ears reaching 80cms) I genuinely recommend this sturdy door- especially for renters who have big dogs- you’ll never worry about the security level or whether your dog will fit!

MPD confimed they were in stock. The item was shown as delivered on Wednesday 10th April 2024 at 1.35pm on the vendors delivery company website. No in real time notification was sent to me despite having to give my email address and phone number at time of purchase. There was someone home all day at my home, and security cameras that indicated no delivery that day at anytime. Obviously as soon as I finished work on the delivery date, and arrived home to no door anywhere on site, I immediately checked with the info MPD sent me, and realised that they don’t send delivery updates, so then i went and checked the neighboring homes for a misplaced delivery, to no avail. If a neighbour received it from a courier mistake and kept it, that’s the couriers error not mine. Just how many neighbors was I supposed to front and accuse of accepting a door with someone else’s name on it, and keeping it. The dishonest will shut the door in my face, the honest will feel like they’ve been accused of dishonesty. The vendor when contacted on 10-4-24 stated, "I will have to forward this to the warehouse and get proof of delivery to see what they have done." And that,"I will be in contact asap." At, “7.30pm on Friday 12th April without any further contact. Obviously they sent it to the wrong address, or lied that it was sent out at all. I'm not happy with their lack of response. As obviously the vendor’s priority is not to provide me with a door, or adequately respond to my complaint, the best course of action for me dealing with this vendor and their horrible customer service was to request a full refund” from Paypal. From the vendor on 15-4-24, “As contacted, the courier claim they delivered it. We are waiting to hear back from them for more info about where the driver could have left it seeing as you live in units. One of your neighbours may have received it? I will let you know as soon as I hear back from the courier. We are not the courier so we can not push them for info in their system. We have to wait but I have raised this again with them.” So its 11-5-24, and I haven’t heard from MPD again, or anything about their so called proof of delivery, but I’m not surprised. However today I heard back from Paypal about the dispute I raised and was told they were satisfied with MPD proof of delivery. As I know they've never visited my home on the day, i know that they don't even have a photo of the allegedly delivered Modern Pet Door at my front door to prove delivery on the day. Any reputable delivery company use a photo as proof of site and time of delivery. I’m obviously shocked with this and asked them for the evidence they’ve been sent to arrive at this decision as obviously MPD can’t, won’t, don’t care about sending it to me. So be warned, don’t pay for a door from these people and expect to get it. Don’t expect Paypal to step in to help you. I’m open to suggestions as to what my next steps should be, and alternatives in future to Paypal too.

fro with Julien at Modern Pet Doors I did it. Now after 4 weeks and even more emails to and fro with Julien, I have finally installed it again. This install was opposite to original one so I had to reverse the process and my brain just could not get it done. I am now in a much older house and had to move slider plates from their original position by drilling new holes so locks could connect. I persevered and with Julien's help it's done. So I guess I'm really just saying, it's a great product and I think that with out his patience with me emailing so much I'd never have got it done. Thankyou again it's very much appreciated.

Great value and easy to put together – Was gifted an door (from this company) with flap from a friend as they no longer needed. Emailed as our door lock was different, very cheap for the replacement lock. Response within a day and after paying had the lock within 2 busienss days. We have a stacker door so dealing with the flyscreen is a challenge. I am in the process of using some left over parts to provide a stopper to the screen door and a better seal. I have painted black a timber infill piece and attached it to the pet door using velcro. Whilst not ideal it will help with minimising fly entry.
The pet door is reasonably solid and matches well with my existing stacker doors. The steel panel to lock the pet door flap will require modification to ensure it is secure. The lock and latches appear to have been attached to far from the edge of the panel and will need to be raised to allow the lock to extend beyond the frame of the door.
The instructions can be vague in parts and the black and white photos are of poor quality.
Overall the pet door achieves most I my needs. It is well constructed and the design does not require alteration to existing frames, doors and locks. For these reasons I would recommend the Patiolock pet door.

part of the installation was removing the door from the package,(tight fit), unwrapping it from its protective sleeve and peeling the tape from the metal frame! Putting it into the track was easy enough and after putting on the locking system, which slides onto a bar that you screw into the frame, then tapping in the extra extrusion piece, all that was left to do was entice our little French Bulldog puppy to go through the flap, using treats, of course! By the next day, he was an expert user! I had a few questions during the install, which were promptly and comprehensively answered by a friendly Julian from Modern, who had also guided me through the purchase process a few days earlier.
