I must have been lucky enought to get a bottle from a good batch before the makers decided to drop the quality in favor of profit.

I have just purchased 6 litres of this product. The ants simply continue to walk over it. Unless sprayed on them directly, it does not work. As a surface spray, exceptionally disappointing. directly using alternative products, this would be the most affective method for eradication IMO. Anyway on with the review, I use mortein professional once or twice a year to mainly focus on an earwig & millipede infestation around the garden grounds which eventually ventures onto the large outdoor concrete paths surrounding the entire house & by extension they also get lost & venture inside under the doorways which is really annoying finding these insects roaming about the house. I spray all around the house perimeter, in between the gaps in the concrete slab paths & give special attention around the access point doorways creating a full barrier from top to bottom all around. While I'm at it I'll also hit some spider webs under the veranda & around the house. After first use the next morning is a sight to behold, hundreds of dead earwigs (mainly) plus millipedes, small beetles (not my main target) & the occasional spider scattered all around the concrete perimeter & this continues for the following months with the numbers of dead insects steadily dwindling daily. There's actually so many I obviously can't leave them there because apart from the eyesore I'd be stepping on them & squishing them into the concrete everywhere I walk so I spend every morning first thing sweeping all the dead carcasses & use a garden blower to blow them out from the cracks. For months afterwards this product literally take out thousands of critters until you barely see them venture inside, this is my main goal so I'd say mission accomplished. Very satisfied with this product overall & it suits my use case perfectly. I try & pick them up on special for half price so around the $20 - $25 mark which is equivalent to 3 cans of surface spray but considerably more effective & long lasting than those cans ever could be. A few stipulations. Yes I can agree with other reviewers the applicator isn't the best & leaks sometimes but it hasn't prevented it's overall usability for me personally. No issues getting a single stream, a fine mist or it being too thick too apply however I only use this product is the warmer months & always shake well before every application so maybe that's got something to do with it or maybe I've just been lucky, idk ?

Garbage!!! – Absolute utter garbage! Sprayed a trail of ants going into my house under the eve and the spot they get into the house, all ants died instantly. 2 hours later there is another trail of ants going along exactly the same path and exactly the same spot they get in the house I sprayed. walking along the same trail again. This kept on going for 2 days. Then they stopped. 3 days later the ants are back going along the same surface I sprayed. I gave up. A month later I took it out again to give it another go and the spray gun stopped working, it just wouldn't suck the liquid out of the container to get it anywhere near the spray gun. It's not cheap and a total waste of money. Save your dollar and try something else. My personal Bushman insect repeller spray worked incomparably better than this garbage, even though it's not designed for this type of job. 1 star review is about 5 stars too many but this review does not allow you to give zero.

Works well once the hose is adjusted – I came here to find out how to get the hose to work because I couldn't get it to spray finely, consistently. once before and similarly had to jiggle the hose in a certain way (I just couldn't remember how)...in any case, I felt I should leave a review given that a) I've just been helped by someone here, and b) I find the reviews are overly negative for this product (which is understandable if you can't fix the spray mechanism - I totally understand why, you just need to persevere...which I totally agree you shouldn't need to do (again, WHY don't they fix the applicator?!) given that it is the next best thing to getting in a professional (and much cheaper - it's often half price at $15, which I feel warrants the effort involved in getting a good result from it).

So...once you can get it to spray finely (the hard jet is only useful if you have to get in somewhere really high, otherwise you MUST get the fine spray to work or you'll end up with big globs and big gaps, as many others have found, which really is useless), it really does do what it's meant to (providing you haven't got a huge infestation to start with). As I've said, I've used it previously a few years ago and there was a discernible difference in creepy crawly numbers (particularly spiders) before and after use (I also feel it's necessary to note that this is meant to be a longer-term surface spray and not a fast knock-down product - it's not intended to be sprayed on live insects to kill them - I'm not sure this distinction is fully understood). I pair the spray (used outside around doors and windows) with the cockroach nest-kill baits inside, and I find this combination manages the bug situation quite effectively, definitely more than just doing nothing. But fully agree, the packaging could definitely use work.

Just applied this stuff around the house. The trick with the trigger, is to unscrew the small black knob on the nozzle (where the chemical comes out), lower the trigger to under the bottle and pump (around 20 times), works fine. So far, dead bugs everywhere. I've sprayed a second time now (in a week), and 95% cockroaches have gone.

It seems to keep working even though the chemical has dried out.

I'll spray every few months now for ongoing maintenance (note: 1 bottle gets around 4-5 spray treatments)

Note: doesn't' seem to harm ants (if you are hoping this product will do this), it kills the cockroaches, then the ants carry the dead bodies away!

It Works – Im so confused by all the negative reviews. I have been using this product for many years and it works against large cockroaches, crickets and huntsman spiders I live in an inner city suburb in Sydney and would not be without it. fabrics became uneven. What had happened was that grime had attached to the waxy fabric areas and wouldn't come off with vacuum. I ended up getting a professional steam clean done .. at great cost. If you're using surface spray, cover all furniture and carpet.

Product may do a good job at pest control but I will never know. The two bottles I bought both have faulty spray nozzles. Reading the reviews this seems like a common issue. I would suggest not buying this product. Show details

dripping around the trigger itself and going into my sleeves. I ended up putting it in a spray bottle and using it that way which was much easier but not ideal. Hopefully it hasn’t all been in vain and it will do what it’s supposed to in killing the insects around the place.

Don't waste your money...it does not work – Sprayed one and half bottles around the house perimeter as having terrible ant problem. Container says it will keep them away for months. hose terrible to use...when product runs on the lower side it does not pump at all. I resorted to pouring the rest directly on to infestation.

Disappointed – What a waste of money, does absolutely nothing to keep any type of insect away. Ants walk right over it even when it's fresh and wet, hasn't kept spiders away at all and I've sprayed it several times a day generously for 2 weeks.

Terrible smell and chokes you for hours after spraying – Mortein Power Guard All In One spray. This stuff is absolutely terrible. The smell it leaves lingering is disgusting and unbearable. I will never spray this stuff in my home again. The smell it left in my house for hours made me want to vomit and I had to leave my house to let it air out to be able to breathe again. and don’t want to dry reach never buy this product you will regret it. It will cause hours of trying to air out your home and having to vacate.

Mortine is crap – This stuff is Crap! you have to drown the pest with it:>) I just sprayed it directly onto a small cockroach, it didn't die for several minutes [Content Removed]! have just left a really unhealthy very wet cover on my bench top just to give it one more chance..

They should do something with its spray – Its spray gave me no joy but frustration and blister on my palm. It was my second time trying this product, but unfortunately no improvement in the spray. I’d say my kid’s toy spray seems to work better. Yep, I followed the instruction eg straighten the hose etc. Won’t buy it again.

pack, it proved to be totally ineffective. I then decided to once again try Mortein Powerguard. On this occasion the spray pack worked well and the product was easy to use. I sprayed it on every area around the home where there were huge numbers of ant trails. I sprayed timber stairs, weather boards, pavers and uprights! Ants reacted and died by the hundreds. HOWEVER, the very next day, a new infestation appeared to the very locations I sprayed?!? This morning was the fourth straight day of spraying the same areas and yes, they were back in their hundreds once again!!!! My advice is DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT. It states on the container ‘Same Technology Used by Professionals’ ‘Protects for up to 6 Months’ It should be banned from sale and Mortein should be taken to task over false advertising!! It kills ants, but does not deter them from returning? You might as well spray water!

like a mix between earwax, poison & decayed lemongrass, honestly the worst insecticide stench I’ve had the displeasure of smelling (and tasting).

Secondly, the product itself doesn’t work very well, I’ve used other Mortein pesticides that if sprayed on the surface, will truly act as like an invisible wall of fire that kills any roach that walks on the surface, and will last for several months. This can claims to protect for up to 9 months, but it barely even works for a single day. I first got this can about 4 weeks ago and have since drenched my entire kitchen and bathroom multiple times~ but whenever I turn on the kitchen lights the bloody [Content Removed] are crawling over pretty much every surface I’ve sprayed like it’s nothing, and there seems to be more and more of them no matter how many I directly spray. And I just straight up, have yet to see a single German Cockroach die from a direct spraying.

The price tag doesn’t justify this product, so I advise avoiding the black Moretein cans, as the red ones work better.

Wouldn't buy Mortein again – I have bought a few products in the past including this one, the baits and power gard spray. They don't work well and there are much cheaper alternatives with the same mediocre results.
