Mortein No See No Touch Mouse Trap

Im actually shocked to report that after almost giving up hope ( 5 days of checking with no mouse caught), this morning I found that one trap had triggered to the middle setting (not the mouse caught setting) ...but the mouse was inside, deceased!! Could hardly believe it. Peanut Butter was the bait. We had found a mouse inside the house, so I went in search of the best solution, and found these Mortein traps. Show details

Absolute rubbish. First one snapped on its own, breaking into pieces. Then the second one has been sitting on the corner for weeks. I've put some peanut butter in the designated bait compartment and sprinkled breadcrumbs on the floor, inside the trap. Mouses go in and out, eat the breadcrumbs and the device DOES NOT TRIGGER. Edit: I've added the… Read more
other model that was effective. It cost me $7, caught a mouse straight away, is reusable, and didn't make anything dirty (no bIood)...
I bought the "guaranteed to kill" mortein mouse traps on 01/02/2026, set them according to the instructions with peanut butter as the bait under the sticker. Every night, I heard the mouse chewing on something plastic near the trap and every morning I would check them and find them still "set" until last night I noticed the top had been torn… Read more
through, the spring broken, and the trap fell apart. It most certainly did NOT kill a mouse. Utterly useless. I originally thought it was expensive, but perhaps worthwhile considering it was "guaranteed to kill". What an absolute waste of $13, not to mention an extra month's worth of mice breeding in my home! It took 3 tries to submit a complaint via the Mortein website, getting a non-specific error twice before it finally submitted.

Waste of money – The trap snapped in half after 3 weeks of sitting in pantry without any human contact. Contacted Mortein they wanted the proof of purchase and the box as if anyone would keep the package that long lol. Stay away from this rubbish product Show details

Never again – I purchased four packets and when they are around $12 each it’s not cheap but l didn’t won’t to use the other type of trap or bait and have to handle the mouse and l have pets and small children around so baits are out! Only one out of eight would engage the trap. What a waste of money! Called Mortein help line to make an complaint, what a waste of time! Never again, would NEVER recommend this product to anyone! Did its job – Dispite many people not having much luck i did. Although the indicator did not show mouse caught it was half way inbetween the settings and door was half way open so I actually didn't realise I had caught a mouse. As I would glance at the indicator and saw the door half open. However after a few days I noticed the mouse in my house went quiet and… Read more
I thought it had moved along. I could smell an odd smell from my kitchen I traced back and it was near the trap so I picked it up to check ohh man it smelt rankkk I couldn't see the mouse in it dispite the door being half open but I sure as hell could smell it and binned it. P.s I used bega peanut butter the "crunch" one ironic lol.
Excellent product – Perhaps a wee bit expensive, but very effective. Nearly eleven bucks at the local IGA for a twin pack. Set it when we got home, and had the mouse half an hour later. Just used peanut butter as bait. Very easy to set. Very easy to dispose of. We're leaving the other one of the twin pack out for a few days to see if there are any more of the little buggers. Worked first night – Can’t complain about this unit. Mice had been avoiding the traditional style traps for the last few nights so i put this one out and got a mouse the first night.

Umm ok so I set this trap up with cheese at the attics, didn't trigger for a few days, re-baited it with peanut butter, a few days later I found the traps upper label is ripped at the centre, showing a spring and the top cover would just come off with the central plastic bit broken off. Perhaps it attempted to close and exploded itself up. It… Read more
would have freaked the mice up but I'm now worried where it went now as it's gone quiet. Idea is good but perhaps the build quality isn't there to make it a sure fire, this is the common failure mode in this forum too. Not sure what to do with the second unit, set it up anyways...

They don't work – Absolute waste of money, they don't work. I wish I could leave a no star rating. Left it where the nest was, 2 weeks later the mouse is still here. Trying the ratsack prebated traps Show details
Waste of time and money – Purchased for $10 from Woolworths ,says gauranteed to work or money back that's a lie, I only bought them because other snap ones where not available and I wish I had just waited , I never caught a single mouse and only caught them in old snap trap right next to these junk twist traps I asked for a refund it took 3 phone calls and many emails I… Read more
was told to send photos off everything including the kitchen sink including where I bought them then they sent me a Coles e-gift voucher but there is no Coles for over 100km and I don't shop there anyway and I didn't buy it from them ,mortein said they only give coles e-cards . I would recommend the old wood snap traps over these everytime , it's a huge a amount of plastic waste for something that doesn't work and a refund in my case that doesn't exist.

A great product – This product worked overnight. I have been keeping wax blocks everywhere and tried two other traps which didn’t work at all. Would highly recommend this product to get rid of rats fast. Show details
Rubbish, both traps broke the spring catch within a couple of hours of being set, useless, avoid at all costs! – Rubbish, one they aren't reusable so not great for the environment and two both ours broke within 2hours of setting them, the shaft up the center splits in two where the spring locates into the shaft and let's the spring go free rendering the trap useless. So basically you end up giving the mice a free feed at no risk to them! We were lucky we… Read more
heard them break as they were in our ceiling, at first I thought great two mice already until I went to look and both traps still were in the set position not the caught position, that's when I realised they had both busted! Useless, avoid at all costs people, absolute rubbish!

Terrible, waste of money – I’m reviewing the mouse traps. Two pack. Difficult to set, caught a mouse the first night, then nothing . The mice took the food without the trap triggering. We tried to trigger one of them manually but it wouldn’t go off. The other one ended up in the garbage because it couldn’t be set after the first night Show details
Why isn't there an option for less then 1 star? – I set my mouse trap with food 4 days ago and have been constantly checking and nothing. Last night I pulled out the food and changed it and when I woke up this morning, I checked it and the food was gone. I pulled out out the 2nd trap that was in the pack, hoping it had a better trigger and it won't even set no matter how far or less I pull it… Read more
back. I then checked the 1st trap and it won't trigger when weight is on the food pad.
BIGGEST waste of $10 ($5ea) I have ever spent.
I will advise people to go to bunnings and go oldschool and get a wooden bar trap that costs $3 for 2. Don't waste your money on this plastic crap that doesn't work
Plastic waste – The trap works, but it is environmentally a disaster, why can you make these resettable and stop bombarding us with disposable plastic.? Two mice per purchase! you have to be kidding, have a look at some real ones made by Ratsak! I have caught the two most expensive mice in the district! Sorry we won't be back to catch the next two! Poorly made traps – Neither of the 2 traps worked. I pulled them apart and they were both broken. They are quite expensive considering they apparently break so easy. Not worth the money! Very disappointed Show details
Incredible! – I am in shock that this worked so fast. Within half an hour of putting it down in an area where I saw a mouse, I checked it and it said that it has caught one. I thought I didn't click it in tight enough and it went off by itself. I worked up the courage to try and check if there was anything in there so I could reset it and there it was! Highly recommended putting Nutella inside as bait. Show details
Best trap Eva! – The Trap was down for about 12 or so hours. Scattered some cheese around the entrance of it and a few bits just inside the trap. I went back to check it a few hours later and it had caught the mouse. I didn’t hear a thing. Quick and easy disposal Show details
perfect product which i totally recommend – 8 from 8 already. going really well. just put peanut butter in and the next day caught. So easy to set with a twist and i didnt have to see the mouse at all which was a bonus. Will buy again Show details
Useless – No wonder they are discontinued, don’t waste your money, they are still on the supermarket shelves. Didn’t catch anything with 2 of them and when you go to check they snap shut. Show details
3 mice killed in 18 hours, no cleaning the trap other than mouse body removal. reset and wait for the next victim – i set this trap where i knew mice were, 1 trap has now caught 4 mice , only dropped out the dead mice and no other maintenance required. surprised i didn't have to re-bait it Show details

Works extremely well – This trap is one of the best I've ever used. It has a very powerful snap that will kill a mouse or rat quickly and you don't have to touch the animal to get it out. I've currently got 4 traps but am buying more for down in the chicken coop, where the mice have been breeding due to the grain feed. The design of the trap prevents access to the… Read more
bait until the animal is right inside the tunnel entryway, so the chooks won't be able to set it off. The first time I bought one of these we were experiencing a mouse plague in the house and I caught 6 in the first half hour without even replenishing the peanut butter I used as bait! I bought another three traps and after a couple of days, there was no more evidence of mice in the house. The only problem I've found is that after much repeated use it gets harder to set the trap and my thumb gets sore trying to hold down the trigger/lever until it 'clicks'. Possibly the mechanism is starting to wear out. However, I believe they are well worth the $8+ price as they are safer for pets (and human fingers!) than the old style wooden or plastic ones and it is so much easier to dispose of the corpse.
Great product...safe and easy peasy! – Bought a few of these as I have a dog and didn't want poison laying around. A bit of peanut butter and had to set it by pushing it down with paddlepop stick but they work a treat. Caught ten before I was done. Kills them but its quick. Love that its safe and wont snap on the dogs paws if she gets near it. And I can release them directly into the chosen recepticle for reuse....Totally recommended.
Excellent trap – I had been struggling with traditional traps for a week and mice were taking the bait and leaving. Frustrated I opted to spent more ($8 a trap at Woolworths) and only bought two. I baited with milk chocolate as I had the previous traps and set them behind the fridge where I’d seen them - that night I caught two mice. It’s a little irksome to shake… Read more
out their bodies from the traps but I doubt I’d have fared any better with the traditional wooden ones. One trap reset easily, the other reset but it was very difficult - almost as if the mechanism broke. On the second bout I’d caught one. Very pleased with these traps - they make the disagreeable task of killing mice easier. In my experience it was worth the price however I am concerned about the spring mechanism longevity.
Perfect for those phobic of mice – Set the trap where we knew the mouse liked to go, forgot to check it for a couple of days but when we did all we could see was a tail hanging out. peanut butter worked for us. I like that I don’t have to see the mouse inside once it has been caught. I don’t mind that it has a one use as I don’t like to touch or look at these things anyway, straight in the bin so I can get on with my life!!!
Expensive for one use! – The product worked perfectly well and a mouse was caught same night. However, after emptying the trap and attempting to reset it, the lever wouldn't click back into place, so it was only used once.
Didn't work. And would not set – I found this trap useless. Mice scurried around it no trouble and when I tried to reset it, it was broken. Still looking for effective mouse catcher. No luck at all with this one
An alright mouse trap – The Mortein no touch trap is a good trap to get rid of the one mouse but can have its flaws when outside depending on the conditions. Had one of these set near the house and was windy that night and a foreign object had caused it to set itself off, no mouse, Would reccomend this for minor mouse infestations but go blocks if you can but not advisable if you have dogs or cats block wise.
Excellent – Brought trap tonight got two mice within a hour.. Why are people throwing them away after one use you just reset them. Best mousetrap I have ever set.. So easy just pull lever down and there reset for the next mice. Love them so easy to set and release the mice once caught.
Dont buy, useless – this trap broke when it was triggered by the mouse, bait was gone trap was broken recommend , The Big Cheese Poison Free Mouse Trap Station, it did the job where this one failed, dont waste your money
Great Product – I've been battling mice in my house for weeks. I finally bought this product and have caught a mouse each time I've used it using peanut butter. I like the thought of not being able to see or touch the mouse. A few years ago I had a mouse in the house as well, used bait and the thing died in a very inconspicuous spot, behind my very heavy work… Read more
desk, and produced a bad smell. It was ghastly when I found it and it took me ages to disinfect the area. These traps are great. One criticism though, they are way too expensive for a 'use once and throw away' item (at IGA - $4.99). No mess Cost - too expensive
Overpriced rubbish – I set the trap baited with peanut butter & after a while could hear some action, had a look & saw the mouse trying to get into the trap but it seemed like the hole was too small & all it could do was push it around.I then set a regular trap next to the mortein one with the same bait & caught the mouse no problems
Terrible product – We bought this product hoping to catch a mouse in our house. We put cheese in it as directed, and placed it in various rooms of the house - it has been there for over a week now, and the mouse has still not been caught! We have also seen the mouse run through the house multiple times. A total waste of money and very disappointed as other Mortein products have been great! Did not do what it says it does
an ok product – I like the idea of these products as there is no mess, blood or having to see or touch the mouse. They are expensive though in my opinion as a normal mouse trap costs 50 cents at the most and you can reuse it as many times as you like. Where as these cost around 3 - 4 dollars each and you throw them out after each use. I do like the fact that… Read more
these is no blood etc but it is bad for the environment when you can re use a normal trap. Great for people who are squeamish and really don't want to see the mouse. Good product. gets the job done. bad for the enviroment a little expensive
