Mortgage Choice Glenelg - Keith Caine
Keith was amazing, he made the whole process easy and enjoyable. I have had to contact Keith a number of times, throwing him a few curve balls and he has helped every time. I will be a long service customer, I have never had better service when applying for loans. I have no hesitation in recommending Keith or Mortgage Choice to anyone needing advice or a home loan, the quality of service is second to none. Thanks Keith, you've got me for life.
They've passed on two interest rate cuts without asking!
2nd review - still so pleased with these guys. They've provided us with 2x interest rate cuts in only a few months. Our contact person has been the same since I first called when purchasing our first home - from advice, to first mortgage and then refinancing! Keep up the great work!

Lazy and incompetent
I applied for a mortgage with Mortgage choice in Perth. The owner said he had applied for pre-approval and then the third time I chased it up he hadn't done it and insisted I'd asked him not to. He said only parents can be guarantors, a quick call to the bank proved this to be a lie. When I asked if the amount I'd gotten pre-approval for was the maximum, he said it was, again the bank said this was a lie and I was eligible for significantly more. Any query that involves him doing any more than the minimum amount of work will be met with a negative response. Save your time and use a different broker or go directly to the bank.
Froze my account, left me with no money, charged fees, lied about being waived.
Went to move to another lender. They froze my account for over a month without warning. Accepted payments in but wouldn't let payments come out. Direct debits bounced then MC charged $25 dishonour fees for each one. I called up they said they wouldn't charge these on settlement. Get settlement statement, included fees. Glad to be rid of this half baked operation. Will be discouraging others from using.
Encouraged me to stay on interest only
I was young and sadly not educated in interest only and loans. Mortgage guy encouraged me over 10 years to stay interest only. Every year I called him to say no pleas change my loans esp home loan and he would somehow talk me out of it. He would say you’re paying off the interest you have to pay anyway. Wrong! 10 yrs later I have paid off nothing. I know I’m stupid for not taking control of my loans. Please don’t listen to them I have since found out they get commission on interest only loans only. Ruin my life really. Don’t use a mortgage broker
Froze my accounts and left with no money
I decided to change my home loan to another financial institution. I signed a contract saying that accounts would be frozen four days before completion of home loan transfer. However I was never advised by either financial institution when that date would be. Mortgage choice are pointing the finger at the solicitor from the new institution however the way I see it Mortgage choice are the ones who froze it and should have had the courtesy to notify me so I could have had money taken out in preparation .Accounts were frozen on Wednesday. It is no...w Friday and I am left cashless on a long weekend until next Wednesday morning very inconvenient and frustrating. A simple courtesy call to advise me accounts were being frozen would have sufficed. As I’ve stated before Mortgage choice froze the account, not the new financial institution and therefore should have communicated with me. I have to give one star to submit this. Also ridiculous
What a joke! Avoid at all cost.
The Process started off really great with good communications until we signed the contract then the communications dropped to almost zero.
Then we started the house build, half way through the build we were contacted by the builder saying the first 3 progress payment were not made and the broker would not return any phone calls or e-mails to them and the build was going to stop until the payments were met.
Contacted the bank and they had the same issue with them stating they were also unable to contact him and were in the progress of trying...
My first home experience was made easy! Thank you Mortgage Choice Essendon :)
To the team at Mortgage Choice Essendon,
I like to show my great appreciation and thankfulness to Theo and Tamara.
Mortgage Choice Essendon not only exceeded all levels of expectation in helping me with the banks in achieving a loan, they approached things from a different angle which in fact saved me money.
I was able to go on a three month holiday due to the Money I saved and at the same time, I was approved for my house and land loan.
In lead up to choosing Mortgage Choice Essendon, I did lot's of homework in who and how I was going to choose a broker.

Don't make the same mistake as me. Have a plan b.
I decided to give Mortgage Choice a go because I wanted someone to do all the hard lifting for me. I gave them 8 weeks noticed about a property that I was keen to buy at an auction. I was reassured on many occasions that this was enough time etc. I provided all the requested info and supporting docs promptly. Anyhow the customer service was extremely disappointing. They were never pro-active; rather re-active. No updates whatsoever. The 'promise the world' but 'deliver nothing' but lip service. In the week of the auction, I sent an email remin...der and I was told that they had the weeks confused and therefore my finance was still pending approval. I must admit, this took me my complete surprised. After all, I'm the ideal candidate who had a strong application and I'm in the market for an $2-$2.5m investment property. Notwithstanding the property market is flat and there has been a lot of scrutiny in the media about mortgage brokers. What an bitter disappointment. So much so it prompted this review (first time ever). I then contacted my bank and in a bit over a week I had my finance approved. And this is my recommendation to you. Don't make the same mistake as me and make sure you have a plan b. And banks are negotiable on rates - I got mine to match the best rate available. @mortgagechoice - you need to invest more time and resources in raising the customer service standards. Investing in advertising campaign to generate leads when your team has poor customer service standards isn't the right way forward. As they say, a bird in the hand in better than two in the bush.
Disappointing all round. 0 stars if possible.
- Poor communication, would have to chase the broker frequently to find out what is going on. Issues would occur and we would only find out after we chased her up because things were taking a longer than anticipated.
- Frequently would make timings of when she would do things or contact us and would almost always exceed these timings until we started to positively manage her through frequent check-ins by holding her accountable on the day she promised things.
- Multiple stressful delays bouncing back and forth between the mort...
Made my dream possible
It was a long time dream to move into our own home and Erica and the team help to make it a reality. I first contacted Erica to see how much I can borrow and then suddenly 2 months after, I was going through the whole process of property reports, pre-approvals and applying for Mortgage. There were ups and downs during the process as Bank was giving us a hard time. But Erica was there with us all the way and made sure we became a proud property owners. Thank you very much for your support and excellent service.

Mortgage Choice in Frenchs Forest has been outstanding every step of the way
After recommendation from a work colleague, we asked the Frenchs Forest branch (Michelle Ewens) to handle our loan application. She has been supportive from early-2017 until now, a year after settlement. She is an outstanding communicator and always ready to go above and beyond to meet the customer needs whether it be following up on a stubborn lender, submit documents in a timely manner and offer encouragement and advice. I cannot recommend MC strongly enough. She is honest at the time the home lending industry is under scrutiny from the royal commission
Great broker multiple loans done at record speed
After having a bad experience with other 'brokers'. I contacted mortgage choice. They refinanced 3 loans, and took out a new one for an additional property. All went through smoothly they kept in touch the entire way. Beau Dalton from mortgage choice broadbeach was stellar.

Mortgage Choice PERTH, WA
The Mortgage Choice guys in PERTH, WA were absolutely fantastic. They offered great advise, replied to emails immediately, were highly efficient and were super easy to work with. We had a few issues with the house we were buying and had to change lenders halfway through the process. Mortgage Choice smoothed the process and secured the new loan with a minimum of fuss. The greatest part of the process was their friendliness and speed of response to questions and issues. I would certainly recommend the PERTH team to anyone looking to secure a mortgage or ask advise.
Worst advice ever.
My husband and I met with two mortgage brokers, one being Mortgage Choice Chermside, another was an independent broker. We decided we would go with mortgage choice because they seemed more knowledgeable. Boy, we were wrong. We were purchasing our first home, so we had no idea what we were doing. It seemed like they were really attentive at the beginning and our first meeting was pretty standard, they showed us what we could borrow all those things. This is something we were blissfully unaware of in our first meeting. We provided credit card sta...tements and our ID's, payslips etc. However, my husband had two late payment fees on his credit card statements. Which may I add were eventually reversed due to a clerical error. In our first meeting we asked the general questions: can we get pre approval- their response was that we didn't need it, second was can we go ahead and make an offer if we found a home: their advice was yes, absolutely. I also note that they said ver batem "if I'm confident you should be too". Fast forward a few days we found a home we loved, we submitted an offer and it was accepted, we signed the contract and thought everything was hunky dory. This is where [Word Removed] hit the fan. We were told in our initial meeting they could provide excellent RP data reports with additional information, we asked for the report, still havent received it, we ended up asking a friend who was a real estate agent to do it. They started collating our application, then took the time to review our documents that were provided at the first meeting and advised that LMI wont accept the two late payment fees on the credit card. So we had them reverse them, not good enough, we were then advised if we increased my credit card limit it will be fine, because their was no guarantee on my limit I wasnt prepared to ask for a credit increase if it wasnt going to clear it out. So, We did the next best thing, in desperation, my husband applied for a balance transfer to wipe out that credit card. Not good enough according to MC. We then had to hustle and ask his parents if they could lend us the funds to pay it off. Thank fully, they were accommodating and we thought we were in the clear. We had some heated discussions with mortgage choice about their poor advice and I was flawed at the snake tongue responses we received. May I also add while we were getting these issues sorted they advised us that everything would be fine. But nothing was ever good enough. Our application finally got submitted 8 days after we had made an offer. We had 21 days to get finance. Each step of the way we had to follow them up, poor communication we were even told not to contact their admin manager she would contact us. They made the experience overwhelmingly stressful. The bank kept coming back to us with requests for additional documentation and we'd provide it as soon as possible, then we'd have to wait another 24 -48 hours before we heard anything. Fast forward to the day before we needed finance. We hadn't heard anything and getting closer to the end of the day we contacted them, and they came back immediately saying it was declined. How long had they known this? because despite all their advice, all their "experience" they neglected to tell us that a zippay account came up on the banks credit check and it was an immediate decline because we had undisclosed debts. An account we dont even use. We had to asked for an extension which was thankfully approved and the real estate agent offered us a new mortgage broker. Who, so far in the 72 hours of being in contact with him has been more knowledgeable in the three weeks we've been in contact with mortgage choice. They dont seem to care about the fact we are embarking on the biggest purchase of our lives. It makes me wonder if they actually ever get anyone to a settlement. Fair enough there were some things that we could have been aware of, the late payment fees etc. But now we have a decline on our credit rating because they failed to offer sound financial advice. Which, ironically is their job. If there was a lower star rating than 1 I would give it. Buyer beware.
