This service was previously known as NRMA MotorServe
I wouldn’t take my car to Motor Serve for any mechanical repairs the manager and receptionist there are liars and thieves. I had a problem with a cracked diaphragm for the fuel pump and without inspecting it they quoted $,7400-00. Also told me they couldn’t find the part even though I supplied it and was on the passenger’s seat, and they kept the car for 4 weeks always lying to me about the car being too old, parts were hard to find.
The experience with the multiple outsourcing practise ( ie in fantasy of efficiency you drop car off at the Motorserve office they organise a collective pick up from several branches then fan car repairs out )Motorserve experience in Canberra was awful on every level repair a lot took longer we had no contact with repairer nor even knew which… Read more
it was and even where things were at the absolute opposite of what NRMA stood for in service to MOTORISTS at least they dont pretend its still NRMA. When we had the car serviced in Melbourne it turned out the problem was the Motorserve repair was the wrong part but even though under warranty I got no reply to my request for the procedure for a compliant and refund

Booked a service online. Two days before the service I emailed them to let them know that the drivers side headlight had gone out and the light bulb needed to be replaced. I arrived just before 7:30am and told them that I needed new brake pads, the drivers side headlight needed to be replaced and that the fog light also needed to be replaced.… Read more
The guy behind the counter acknowledged all three issues.
They called me at 12:05pm and quoted me the cost to get everything done. Once again I told them that the drivers side headlight globe needed to be replaced.
11 hours after first dropping the car off, it was ready to be picked up. I watched the mechanic drive the car out of the workshop. I paid for the service, got in the car and the car told me that the headlight had not been fixed (see photo). I walked back into the reception area and told them that the globe hadn't been replaced. They took the car back into the workshop and after about 20 minutes, they told me that they were unable to fix the issue and that the whole headlight unit needed to be replaced. I was told I would be called the next day with a quote for a new headlight. 6 days later I still haven't received a call back. (side note, the entire headlight does NOT need to be replaced, just the globe. The owner's manual which explains how to replace the bulb was not followed).
It doesn't fill me with confidence that the mechanic ignored the warning that popped up on the instrument display regarding the headlight when he drove it out of the workshop and makes me wonder what else was not done during the service.

Rouse Hill Service Centre Closed by NRMA – I have nothing but praise for the team at Motorserve Rouse Hill. I always receive prompt feedback with details and costs on my car service, and as a bonus, the car always comes back spotless. Despite the favourable reputation of the Rouse Hill store, NRMA has decided to close the store permanently. The manager there, Grant Lachowicz was the… Read more · 2
epitome of professionalism and honesty. NRMA claims to be “servicing the community”, but the drivers of the Hawkesbury have lost a valuable service and are now forced to select Hornsby or Castle Hill, and for me, that is a 40-minute drive to have to sit in your store and wait for my car to be service. This is not serving the community NRMA. I have been a supportive member for over 20 years and I am very unhappy.
UPDATE I am pleased to advise that the site has been purchased by My Car (owned by Continental Tyres) and is now operating with the original staff, Grant and his team are back to provide the same excellent service. I will be using them again.
Great – I was very pleased with my service at Gladesville Motor Serve. I would to make a special mention of Alex who dealt with myself and my Son. Bad service – Had no idea what they were doing. Changed expensive parts that were not necessary. The problem with car still remains. When the car was test drove they got a speeding fine that we got in the mail.

Extremely rude and incompetent, criminally bad customer "service". A complete clown show – STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP! Extremely rude and incompetent, criminally bad customer "service". A complete clown show. Sent the car for a service, was told to be ready around 4:30pm and to wait for their call. We called to confirm this during the day. Their call arrived at almost 4:50pm, a female staff rumbled for about 5 minutes saying we had to be… Read more
there before their close at 5 blabla, then that we had to pay over the phone etc., then if the payment can't be received today we can't pick up the car blabla.
I said we're just 10 min away and will arrive soon to pay and pick up, by the time you finish talking we'd be there. (In fact we arrived at somewhere very close to the shop to wait for their call to minimize their wait time.)
We arrived, the same woman appeared very angry and agressive, first threatened to walk off and then THREATENED TO LOCK US OUTSIDE OF THEIR OFFICE -- IN HEAVY RAIN, "we're closed we can't let you pick up the car", then pointing at her watch angrily saying is 2 min past 5 etc.
We entered in their office anyway, another woman joined the argument, with us, their first time customer, with god knows what the point was. My question of "you called us at 4:47, how long do you expect us to be here, 1 minue or 2?" was never answered. And then they opened up the system quickly and let us pay and get the keys back. "The invoice will be emailed to you later."
Is this shop serious? Threatening your customers becasue of your own poor time management? How can anyone this rude and this incompetent be hired, in a customer service role no less?
And, for this very expensive and time-consuming service, zero cleaning was done at all.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP!

The worst customer experience I’ve experienced – Very rude staff particularly an [Content Removed] blonde woman sitting at the front desk and another [Content Removed] blonde woman who appeared to be an assessor of some kind. I had been told weren’t an issue for this appointment but inevitably were. When what I had been told wasn’t the case upon arrival I explained what I’d been told on the phone and the staff gave no apology nor did they listen or let me fully finish explaining once, they would just continue to interrupt me saying I was lying and that wouldn’t have happened. The assessor in particular told me I was wrong or lying at least 5 times and even tried to throw in my face that I was late despite my explaining that as there was no parking available on site or on the street I had been driving around seeing where I could possibly legally part causing me to be 5 minutes late. In the end I needed to park in a random space inside their gates just to be able to get in and talk to someone about my appointment to see what to do. She had a very hostile and demeaning tone and then tried to get me to rebook with them for another day. The fact that my insurance company chooses to work with this company genuinely baffles me.
Also, since then, they reply to negative reviews denying their actions and saying their ‘staff remember it differently’. No accountability or even apology when they treat people very poorly. A formal complaint was raised through insurance about them.

Service is good, but they need to do better on quoting – When I booked the service via a phone call, I specifically inquired about the price of the brake pads. day of the service, my car was attended to as expected. Unfortunately, they were unable to honor the six-month-old quote, citing reasons such as the quote's 30-day validity, inflationary pressures, and low profit margins. During my negotiation with the manager through the customer service representative, Dominic, the response was not favorable. I was given the option to either accept the higher price or have a different, implied inferior, brand of brake pads installed.
Despite this, I commend Dominic for ensuring that my car was serviced and ready within the agreed timeframe, which was a pleasant surprise.

Upon arriving to collect my car, I was informed that the necessary parts had not yet arrived, and I will need to wait another week. Pretty poor form – Car Service - MotorServe Seven Hills I am always in two minds about where to get my car serviced: the small business my family has been taking their cars to for 30 years, or the local MotorServe, conveniently located within walking distance from my house. book online (on a Sunday) and they had availability the next day (Monday).
Monday afternoon came and I hadn't heard from MotorServe on the progress of my car service. I rang them only to have the receptionist ask me if I had dropped my car keys off in the afterhours box. She told me she had already checked the box this morning, finding nothing, and only found them when she went to check again, informing me they had fallen into another part in the box. She then continued to advise me that the mechanics check the upcoming services on a Friday afternoon (I had booked mine on a Sunday), and that was probably why it hadn't been seen, despite my car being parked in their carpark, which was a new addition from when they finished their working week the week before. She then continued to advise me the mechanics hadn't commenced the service, and could I pick it up another day. I refused, stating I had booked it in expecting it to be serviced, and I needed my car. She advised me she would get the mechanics to start the service, and the manager would do overtime until 1800 so I could collect it - yeah. Thanks. When I went to collect it, the manager again told me he was doing overtime, which wasn't the worse part, it was the $1100 service, the most expensive service I have ever had.
I think I have answered my own question: next time and every time after that, I will be taking my car to the small business my family has been taking their cars to for 30 years.

Avoid! – 6/10/23 I get a call at 11:30am from [Name Removed] to say my car is ready to be picked up. I go in to pick it up and he says everything has been repaired, no excess to pay. Canberra around 3:00pm to let them know there is a sound coming from the rear that wasn't there before I dropped it off. [Name Removed] comes out and looks at the rear of my car. I explain that there is a sound coming from the back rear that wasn't there before. I said I could go for a drive to show him and he says he is not allowed to drive the vehicle. I show him a video of the noise. He says 'are you driving?' He says that it couldn't have been from the repair because the sound is coming from the other side of the repair (left side, not the right where the repair was done) and tells me that the whole back rear is a whole piece and that piece would have had to come off when the repair was getting done. He said I should take my car to a mechanic. I said that I got my car serviced before I came in. I show him the video again and he says all he can hear is the road noise. I explain again that it wasn't there when I dropped it off and something must have happened in the interim whilst it was getting repaired. I said it is a hybrid and the car makes no noise and now there is a noise coming from the back. He said that someone should sit in the back and listen for the noise when driving. He also said that there was no way to prove that the car wasn't making that noise as he didn't drive it. I asked about the unfinished repair and he went inside to get the photos. He came back out and said sorry the repairs have not been completed and that the car has to be brought back. I asked where and he said Fyshwick. I asked if I had to bring the car to Fsywick and he said yes, 'it should only take 10-15 minutes as they will just replace the part'. I then tell him I'm going to call NRMA as I am not happy with the response and he says 'ok'. I call NRMA and explain the situation and that I am currently sitting in the car park. They put me on hold and speak to Motorserve. They explain that they have spoken to [Name Removed] and I can go back in to get the situation resolved. I go back in to Motoserve and speak to [Name Removed]. He goes into the side office and asks [Name Removed] about the situation. I hear [Name Removed] tell [Name Removed] in a loud, frustrated tone that 'I have sent an email to Fyshwick to fix the car. They close at 3pm. I told her that the noise is on the other side of where the repair took place and it has nothing to do with the repair just completed.’ Sheree comes back out and I tell him 'I have heard everything'. I excuse myself to the bathroom and come back and ask what can be done to resolve this issue. [Name Removed] asks [Name Removed] (site manager) and says that they will be in contact next week when they hear back from Fyshwick. I asked if the email was in regards to the missed repair and the noise and [Name Removed] says 'yes, we will contact you next week'.
I was gaslighted by [Name Removed] and made to feel that this is my fault. I wouldn't be bringing the car back if everything was ok. I know my car and the noise was not there beforehand. I should have never been treated this way and made to feel like this.
Prior to this incident they made several mistakes with my booking after I rescheduled. [Name Removed] said there must be something wrong with the booking system. I also received a text message after I picked up my car on the day that said unfortunately the repair time has been extended due to the repair taking longer than expected. Your new estimated completion date is 2023-10-09. Any questions, call MOTORSERVE MITCHELL on 0261833374.
I should have never brought my car here; it would have been less of a headache to get it repaired privately instead of under insurance. Motorserve Mitchell just don't seem to care and would rather be disrespectful instead of helpful. There was no apology about the noise or any offer to remedy the situation.
They have now said I have to take it to Toyota servicing and get a statement outlining the issue. Motorserve is not taking any responsibility for the damage they have caused.
I ended up taking my car to Toyota and they said it was loose styrofoam in the back where the spare tyre is and that the jack was incorrectly put back in. I don’t understand why Motorserve had to touch that area but that’s what was causing the noise. I wasn’t making up things like [Name Removed] had implied. They did cause the noise and lots of inconvenience. What a headache!!
