Once again Murray’s disappoints in every way. This time my luggage is the problem. It is the same luggage I had on Saturday and on Monday but apparently this random policy is that I am unable to retain my bag for my broken leg. Once again, make sure that you have NO DISABILITIES if you use this service as REASONABLE ADJUSTMENTS are purely discretionary.
I was travelling with my wife today from sydney central to canberra on murrays bus departing at 6 am from sydney pitt street central. The driver was so rude, got mad at us and scolded us just because we were bit slower while getting off from the bus. It was awful experience
Information about pickup at Nelligan NSW, heading SOUTH towards the coast at Batemans Bay is so confusing. Timetable suggests wait at Steampacket Hotel, other The Entrance to Caravan Park for coach. The lady in Murray's information actually gave me the wrong details, when I rang. Even the staff are confused !! So to let you all know, wait… Read more
outside the Big4 caravan driveway entrance. I took a picture so there is no confusing. Murray Coach's (if you read this, make the changes)

What a fantastic experience! Absolutely beautiful coach for the short trip from Brisbane to Toowoomba. Leather upholstery, footrests, USB charger point, tray table. So comfortable and Terry the driver was so welcoming and friendly and very accommodating. He even wished all the Mum’s a Happy Mother’s Day!! Would highly recommend! Show details
At Central Station Sydney the Murray bus just began driving off I was standing in front of the pedestrian just a few metres from the actual bus terminal, I was frantically waving to let me on as I booked it for my travel to Newcastle for 11.30am departure to Broadmeadow station, Newcastle. He had to stop at the pedestrian anyway and saw me… Read more
clearly as I waved indicating I needed to get on that bus. He clearly looked at me and proceeded to keep going ever so slowly. I’m disgusted that this company employ such un empathetic staff. It wouldn’t have taken any time off his trip for this gesture of letting me on. Now I’ve missed my oncology appointment. I’m so angry! What a disgusting human being. Bus 15 from Memory.
Worst rude customer service with discrimination!! – I’ve taken this bus over 20 times, and this morning I had the most terrible experience! I arrived 6 minutes earlier before the departure, where there are still people queuing up to get on the bus. The Caucasian guy who was not the driver seemed to have had a bad morning and lashed all his anger on me. He told me that I need to be at the bus… Read more
station 30 minutes earlier; otherwise, I am not to be allowed to board the bus! I’ve never had anyone speak to me in such a rude way about being there 30 minutes before, especially when sometimes the doors only start to open 10 minutes before departure, and there are still plenty of people waiting in line to board! So, what makes it different when I arrive a couple of minutes before departure? He must have thought that I was a tourist becos I had a luggage with me to talk to way in such a way. I find him completely unreasonable, unnecessary and just lashing out at me! It has ruined my morning, and I no longer feel that Murray’s Bus is a friendly service for commuting between Canberra and Sydney! @9am Sydney to Canberra, 489 Pitt Street Sydney on Feb 10, 2024
Will not provide refunds – Booked one day and then the next had to change due to friends deciding to join us resulting in different flight times and departure point. Would not provide a refund. Show details

Big thanks to the Murrays team at the Sydney Airport stop last Saturday. I arrived early and was offered an earlier bus than I had booked. I was reassured that was no trouble. Brilliant & sensitive staff. Thank you. From Christopher Show details
I used Murray’s to do a Canberra Sydney return trip, I have done this a few times, and as usual really enjoyed it. Bus was on time, clean, and staff were friendly. Highly recommend Murray’s! Show details
On Thursday 25th of September myself and my husband caught the 11 am Murrays coach from Sydney Central to Canberra. Our coach driver Vinnie( from Brazil) was brilliant. Such a smooth ride the whole way. Gave instructions as we arrived in Canberra. Thanks Vinnie!!! Show details

We used to use regular bus services from Canberra to Sydney international airport for many years but gradually the service has stooped to so low levels i can't even say it. They are so stringent that we are allowed two pieces of luggage but I had only one luggage and a small box weighing 5kilos. They charged me $20 because it's a box not a luggage!! It's not fair and rip-off Show details
As always, the customer service is a race to the bottom. Today there is a brown mess all over the seat I am supposed to sit on. I’m told it’s just coffee!!! I still didn’t pay to sit in coffee. Eventually they begrudgingly cleaned it.

Booked Sydney–Canberra a week in advance and still ended up in the very last row next to the toilet. These seats do not recline and are clearly less comfortable, yet they are sold for the exact same price with no warning during booking and no option to choose seats. Also, the departure point at Sydney Central is very poorly explained. “Central… Read more
Station” is not a real location — the Coach Terminal is hidden and difficult to find. We arrived 40 minutes early and still had to rush to board at the last minute after walking around trying to locate it.
For a premium-priced coach service this level of organisation is disappointing. The trip itself was fine, but the lack of clear directions and transparent seating makes the experience unnecessarily stressful.

Terrible experince with customer service at international airport. Regular customer but was very disappointed that day. Made my day worst. I missed the bus from central by 1 min. So, i was informed to catch it from international airport. When I reached airport by uber, the man who was checking the name list said in a very rude tone that "I cannot… Read more
take you in from here. You have to go back to central becoz you have discounted ticket." Even though there were empty seats. Very very rude person. After requesting only another staff told me to go and sit at the last seat even though seats in front row were all empty. Very very dissapointing customer service.
Allowed 1.5 hours between flight arrival and bus departure but as a precaution paid extra for a flexible ticket. Plane had mechanical issues and departed 90 mins. Late. Missed the bus by 4 minutes. Tried to book on a bus later in the day and my flexible ticket wasn't honored. Had to buy a new ticket. Apparently you have to notice Murrays 2 hours… Read more
prior. (read the fine print!) Didn't cancel as I always hoped I'd make the bus booking...almost did. Not a flexible ticket at all.
Had a 730 pm booking at Sydney airport. The Qantas flight we were on was delayed and did not land until 657pm. We tried to phone Murrays as soon as we landed and could access our phones but the number given on their email advised they were busy with a large number of calls and was on hold for 40 minutes. We got to the bus stop to catch the… Read more
airport to Canberra service at 738 pm. 8 minutes late because the flight was delayed. Needless to say we missed the bus and were told by airport staff that bus left right on time. That was the last bus on the Saturday night. Nobody attempted to call us or help us in any way. Then when we eventually got through to Murrays on a different number found on their website and tried to rebook for the following day was told we could not transfer our booking and had to pay again because we did not give them an hour's notice. We also had to pay extra accommodation but at least were fortunate that the Rydges had rooms available.
We understand the buses need to keep to a schedule but when picking up from an airport it stands to reason that something must have gone wrong and providing a phone number that was obviously not monitored after a ceetain time, should have at least had a message advising this and providing the correct number. Even know it cost us extra nights accommodation, Murrays would not refund our money for the Saturday night and Sunday morning. The driver on the Saturday night should of waited. He would of known he had airport passengers.Very disappointed in the.service.
I show may new people try to get the bus go to Canberra but we miss the bus. We been to service counter [Name Removed] ask us to buy a new bus ticket. Please don't use this service any more. Show details
I accidentally selected the wrong time, I called straight away and the customer service agent over the phone was really rude with her tone and told me too bad, so sad. You paid for the wrong ticket, that's on you. $42 is a fair chunk of change to an individual, but to a company the size of Murrays? Spare change. Absolutely atrocious customer service. Show details
We have used Murrays numerous times Canberra to Sydney and return. Usually the driver assists putting the suitcases underneath but today on the 8:00am from Canberra the driver just stood there and pointed. We are a couple in our 70s.
Worst experience ever with Murray Bus Services I had the most disappointing and frustrating experience with Murray Bus Services on my recent Sydney to Canberra trip. I arrived at their Sydney office at 10:05 am, having just missed the 10:00 am service. I immediately rescheduled (and even PAID for it) for the 12:00 pm bus. Since there was an… Read more
11:00 am service, I politely asked if I could board that one instead.
To my shock, the staff member was extremely rude, arrogant, and unhelpful. Despite me clearly seeing that the 11:00 am bus had plenty of empty seats, they flat-out refused to let me board and forced me to wait an extra hour. No empathy, no flexibility, no customer service whatsoever.
It is unacceptable that a company would rather let empty seats go than accommodate a paying customer who was already at their office. This shows a complete lack of professionalism and compassion.
If you value your time, money, and basic respect, do not travel with Murray Bus Services. I’ll never use them again and will warn others to avoid this company at all costs.
A reliable transport service between Sydney and Canberra, and the Sydney airport stop is important to Canberrans. Never a bad experience with their driving. But sadly some Murrays staff engage in petty admonishments and public humiliation. You have to cop it because any objection is met with a threat to be removed from the bus or denied… Read more
boarding. Some of their drivers are really fantastic- good humoured, friendly, but professional. While some unfortunately have a really bad attitude. Supervision at each end seems to have increased, which is good, and perhaps things will improve. Meanwhile, I recommend taking the train, which is cheaper, more comfortable, and less likely to include an altercation, and use Murrays only when necessary.

Just do not use their services. I now understand why my son prefers Canberra to Sydney trains. Support over the phone doesn't want to listen and understand customer needs. I just wanted to ask a simple question - How likely that a bus from Canberra to Sydney International Airport can be delayed so that I miss my plane? Is 2h25m arrival to Syndey… Read more
Airport before plane departure is enough? If the buss breaks down, will the next bus pick me up and bring me to Airport? She doesn't listen me to the end and starts answering a wrong question. This was 5 times in the end she dropped the line. Basically doesn't want to listen at all.
I had a specialist appointment in Brisbane that was cancelled on the morning of travel. they won't change the date of travel... I will be travelling with Greyhound from now on.. n this decision was all made at some aholes discretion Show details
Terrible experience. The new coaches are a downgrade, barely any legroom, seats crammed together. Driver was rude, and passengers were miserable people, inconsiderate, fully reclining into others and refusing to adjust - everyone was tired, not just them. No one cared, passengers are not even encouraged to be considerate. Really disappointing.
I have a serious complaint about Murrays and safety. My grandson was to catch the 8.30 bus on Monday the2nd of June from Sydney to Canberra where he was to be met by his father. Although a legitimate ticket had been bought by his father he was refused entry to the bus by the driver as he had no photo ID. This left a country kid stranded in the… Read more
middle of Sydney at Central. A serious matter of safety. He had no student ID and because he is only 16 no pension or government ID to show It was not made clear that a photo copy of his passport was suitable. He is a polite, well-presented kid, appropriately dressed and no behaviour problems and has travelled several times before with no problems. It was an arbitrary decision by the driver with serious repercussions in terms of safety and stress for the family and missed school. When his grandfather rang Murrays he was told he would have to buy another ticket. His grandfather who has Parkinsons was greatly distressed. The driver was reported as officious and short with him. The whole process was highly unsatisfactory resulting in great family stress, missed school and the creation of a potentially dangerous situation. I intend to also write to Murrays office and take the matter further.
The lady at the desk in Canberra was very nice. Even though I was grumpy, tired and missed my bus she was super nice to me and rescheduled my bus for the next one. I really appreciate that and how easy she made it for me after a terrible morning.
Flexible tickets that are not in any was flexible. Booked a flexible ticket from the international airport for my wife and chose a bus that was 1.5 hours after her scheduled arrival, assuming that if the flight was delayed she could get a later bus. She arrived 30 minutes late and it took more than 1 hour to clear immigration and customs. The… Read more
bus driver refused to accept her ticket and she had to pay all over again.
I rang Murrays to complain and their response was rude, so I became rude as well, apparently their so called flexible ticket is only flexible if you give 2 hours notice, while she was 30,000 feet in the air.
Their bus leaves an international airport, planes are delayed all the time, people are rushing with bags trying to clear customs, the last thing you want is to have to ring a call center, assuming you have a phone sim and their phone number. What a scam.
I was running late due to the delay of train so I informed the office that I will be 5 mins late and requested if coach could wait. I was informed that waiting is not in their hand but they will convey the message. I wasn’t expecting the bus to wait anyway, I reached there at 01:01 (Bus was expected to leave at 01:00) the lady who assist with the… Read more
seating yelled at me in front of everyone. My partner and I were saying sorry and explained that we informed forehead that we will be late but sorry and thank you. But the lady was not hearing us and kept on yelling with her raised voice this is supposed to leave at 1 and it could have gone right in front of your eyes. We admit that we were late but it doesn’t give you right to yell at us. Very disappointed.
I spent 3 weeks traveling through Europe on more than a dozen buses and never had a problem with my luggage. But a Murray’s driver gave me a lecture about how hard it is to deal with a bag weighing 4.3 kilos and 1.9 meters in length and made me go back to the office to pay excess baggage. Show details
Murrays needs nicer staff – Usually use Murrays to get to Sydney with no issue in the last. We were going from Canberra to Sydney on Saturday morning, I booked two tickets separately as I forgot to book two in the original purchase. both tickets had my name on it. This caused an issue for boarding, we were not allowed to board the bus until one of the tickets had a different… Read more
name, as a passenger is not allowed to use their loyalty login to buy tickets for others apparently. The staff at the bus were helpful explaining the name change, but when we went to the counter to change one of the tickets the lady at the desk was extremely rude. Saying we should have known to call them to change the ticket name and we were not allowed to book two tickets under one name, and we were breaking the rules. We were not aware this was such a big deal, the woman at the desk (brown hair) continued to berate us then updated the ticket and rolled her eyes at us. Haven't had issues with Murrays staff before but this woman was so rude, I dont know what her issue is. I understand these staff are overworked and tired, but she spoke to us like children, and made us feel inadequate. If these so called rules exist, they need to be more obvious, like added to a passengers ticket/QR code stating these apparent rules. We have no choice but to use Murrays as it's one of the only services we can use in Canberra, but they really have improvements to make. I hope this lady doesn't continue to belittle other passengers just because she's having a bad day.
