POOR QUALITY, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE – After spending over $5000 on this mattress we had it replaced after 3 years due to almost 10cm sinking - My husband is 90kgs I am 60kgs. It has been 18mths now with the new mattress and the same thing has happened again. I have endured 2 mths of trying to organise a warranty claim. I have been put from person to person, had someone out that could… Read more

see the sinking, then when I was eventually called back told nothing was wrong. Apparently my fault. They have been incredibly difficult to deal with, I have been passed from person to person, no one wants to help and I have been told case closed. Extremely poor customer service. A product I wish I'd never purchased. My husband and I now have issues with our back and neck. Steer clear of Kings Down. They are now changing their name due to poor reviews.

Rubbish Warranty - Rubbish customer service – Bought mattress from Snooze and it has ripped underneath on corner from lifting it to make it. Notified them regarding warranty and was told you got it in good order and you ripped it. Poor workmanship and for a $5000 mattress I expected more. Good customer follow-up – The mattress (green/green) was very comfortable, but after 5.5 years, developed a sizeable 'dip' which meant I couldn't sleep on it without hip/back pain. HOWEVER, after raising a warranty claim and going through some reasonable steps (eg inspection), Kingsdown has replaced the mattress with a brand new one which is fine. In retrospect, I'm not… Read more

sure that spending $thousands on a mattress is warranted--there seem to be lots of good ones available now for substantially less. BUT, I am impressed that Kingsdown honoured the 10 year warranty and the customer service was friendly and helpful as was the service from Snooze even though they no longer carry the brand. If the new one lasts 5 years, then I will have had then 10 years of comfortable sleep I originally purchased!

After $5K and 6 months, I am now sleeping in a dip, waking often with back pain – I ordered this mattress in March 2018 and it was a lovely to sleep on at first. Now six months later, I have back pain with a sagging mattress and $5K poorer for it. Both sides of the mattress are effected... like a double dip with the unaffected strip down the middle. Series 8 my side mattress – This would be the worst mattress we have ever purchased and would not recommend anyone else doing the same. NEVER buy this Mattress!!!! – Unfortunately, I am left to turn to social media to express my frustrations as after dealing with this company and Snooze for two years. My recommendation would be to NEVER buy this brand of Mattress!! with this company after spending $4200.00+ we have been left with a mattress we cannot sleep on. Two years ago, we purchased a very… Read more

expensive my side sleeper mattress after one year it had sunk on both sides. After months of frustrating and stressful correspondence the mattress was assessed to be faulty and sent away for repair. On its return the mattress sunk again and was also deemed faulty so was replaced with another new My Side mattress. We followed all instructions given by Snooze in that first year, new sheets, new pillows and even buying a new bed base from Snooze!

Third time lucky??Unfortunately not. Now once again the replacement My Side sleeper mattress has sunk, an assessor was sent out again and the sinkage in the mattress was deemed “normal” so there is nothing they will do for us. We are aware that with this particular mattress you can expect a body impression, however I am quite sure it is not supposed to feel as though you are sleeping in a canoe. The sinkage is also worse on one side, the side the lighter person sleeps. If its normal surely there would be simular sinkage on the side the heavier person sleeps?

We currently cannot sleep on this mattress due to the issues it has caused with our back and necks, however should we continue using it until the mattress has finally sunk enough for Snooze or My Side to consider helping us?

We are now faced with seeking advice from consumer protection, I am not sure how a company can consider the attitude of “its not our fault you have a mattress that is uncomfortable” as good customer service. The stress and literal pain this mattress and company have caused us for the past two years is inconceivable.

Can’t get a good night’s sleep – The Myside mattress was fine for a while, but after a couple of years I started noticing a huge dip and whichever way I lay, I was extremely uncomfortable. 65kg and for the price I paid I would expect a mattress to last A LOT longer than two years. It seems there is no support now under the cushioning, where there was in the beginning. Poor product matched by poor customer service – Series 8 Blue/ green -Very unsupportive, hot and uncomfortable. Expensive mistake. of my issues. Like other reviewers , the sinking into the comfort layer causes a lack of support and inflames injuries. I have not had a restful night since purchasing this mattress and my hip and back pain have been exacerbated. Further for such an expensive product, why is there no trial period as is offered by other mattress companies?

I attempted addressing my concerns with Kingsdown but their customer care was very poor. Will have to investigate my consumer rights to decide how to proceed unfortunately.

Worst decision – We upgraded our old Kingsdown mattress to a new one. We were never advised that the wall of the mattress was 50cm and so we then had to go buy all new sheets. told to “give it 6-8 weeks to wear it in and get used to it”. That is an awful long time when you can’t sleep properly, find it hard to get up due to severe back pain, and need to take painkillers to subdue the headache. Anyway, we waited the time required and it still wasn’t any better. We were then told to buy new pillows ($$$ !!!). Different pillows didn’t make a difference.

Apparently there is nothing wrong with the mattress - so I guess it just doesn’t suit our bodies.

There is no “cooling off period” so we are stuck with an uncomfortable mattress (at the cost of $4600!!!). We can’t afford to buy ANOTHER one.

I want my old mattress back

MySide should come with Towels – I bought a MySide mattress series 8 just on 2 years ago. For 2 months it was fine but since then it has quickly turned into an expensive hammock. The top of the bed has sunk down considerably and is now causing me lots of back pain and numbness in my leg. I am not sleeping well at all. After contacting Snooze, I was sent a photocopied set of… Read more

documents that set out the definition of what a faulty product was defined as. Surprise surprise my bed wasn't faulty. Unless it sinks down more than 3cm then it's fine. The challenge is that when lying on it it definitely sinks more than that to the point of discomfort. As expected, the manufacturer can define the standard to the point where it's not faulty. My only resort was to fold two towels in half and run them both long ways down the "hammock" and then put a third unfolded towel over them with the mattress cover and sheets on top of them all. This has effectively filled in the depression and made the bed "sleepable". Make sure you ask for some free towels when buying one of these mattresses!

Definitely not worth the $$$ – We've had nothing but issues since we purchased the My Side Series 8. My wife and I had a Maddison for 12 years and it only started to get a little uncomfortable right at the end (a fantastic mattress), whereas the new mattress was ordinary from the first few weeks. Apparently the slats we had supporting the bed weren't the right ones (was only… Read more

ever advised about getting the right sheets but of course the wrong slats now means the warranty is void. Funny that).

After a lot of back and forth with both Captain Snooze and the company that makes the My Side mattress, we eventually decided to send it back to them to be looked at to see if the slats had caused any issues. The day after I was told about the slats I had to go and buy a new base, which was more money. Didn't make much difference, if any.

The mattress went to Melbourne and back, no idea what was done to it as it has now been over 2 months and not a single call from either to see if it fixed the issues or explain anything.

Those issues were that we both my wife and I had hip pain for the first time in our lives (we aren't that old and are fit and healthy) and you felt like you were sinking a long way into the mattress. It was that bad neither of us liked going to bed, took a lot of painkillers and ended up at the physio way too often. I hate writing these sorts of reviews but if there's anyone that can't decide on what mattress to buy and you were looking at another like us (the Maddison was what we were going to buy when we walked in store but got upsold nicely. No problems here if the mattress wasn't so poor), choose the other mattress.

Since the Mattress came back from Melbourne it just feels like something has been stuffed in the top section to firm it up a little, which would be great considering we paid over $5,000 for some "science based" technology. Nothing has changed though, it's just very uncomfortable for what you outlay.

Worst Mattres I Have Ever Slept On – I purchased the Kingsdown Body System mattress 7 years ago. It was by far the best mattress I have ever slept on, and worth every cent. horrible – and that’s an understatement. When it arrived, it was firm and nothing like the one in store. They told me that’s because the one is store is a year old, and mine is new, so I have to wait for it to soften over time. I’ve never brought a mattress and had to wait months for it to soften and become comfortable…

Now, two months on, it’s still too firm, but one section has dipped, around the stomach area when laying on it, to the point that it’s causing back issues. If I move out of this dip, I feel like I am rolling up hill, and it’s noticeable to the point it wakes me. I haven’t has a single decent night sleep since getting this mattress, and am now using sleeping tablets to get through the night, in addition to numerous physio appointments to assist with the back issues. I went back to the store, laid on the mattress they had again, and it’s worlds apart from the rubbish that was delivered to me. Additionally, the sales rep at Snooze told me it’s now a new mattress in the store which was delivered not long after my replacement was. So they’re approximately the same age.

The rep came out today, and after taking measurements and laying on it, claims there is nothing wrong with the mattress. He admitted he can feel the dip, and the up hill feeling when moving from there to the middle and other side of the bed, and he still claims it is manufactured correctly! Since when is a dip and rolling up hill ok? He kept saying they don’t guarantee comfort. This is a function issue! To add insult to injury, he tried to tell me that it’s dipped so much because it’s wearing faster, and that this is because I was profiled a green (second softest) and choose gold (softest). My original mattress was a tan (softest), is softer than the gold, and was fantastic for 7 years. I know my own body better than some machine! To say it’s because I got a gold and not a green is just cop out. I weigh 62kgs, not 150kgs. A mattress should not be that bad after 2 months! Don’t waste your money on this mattress. I’ll be taking it to the tip and buying another brand.

Bad because of the expense for what I got – Almost 2 years ago, I did the computer thing at Snooze and tried the beds instore. Came up with this one that felt good. like the store sample. I wanted the store bed but they wouldn't sell it. The manufacturer attended the store, checked my mattress (which I immediately sent back) and checked the store mattress. They did agree that the two mattresses were different but then claimed the store mattress was built incorrectly. Go figure. Snooze Capalaba (who were great about this by the way) allowed me to pick a different mattress and I got a price reduction because they were then having a sale. Next mattress came. Yes, it was softer, but for some reason I was plagued by hip and shoulder pressure point problems. I put up with it for quite awhile because, as all bed retailers say, you have to get used to it. I didn't really. I was sure there would be no defect I could claim on and I didn't want to ditch such an expensive bed. So almost a year ago, I found a memory foam matttress topper and put that on top of the My Side mattress. Pressure point issues gone. Only problem now is the mattress is so high, you don't want to get out of bed the wrong way. The first step is a doozy. If the bed hadn't been so expensive, perhaps I wouldn't have complained. But a few reviews suggest the new mattress isn't the same as the shop tester, so you do have to be very careful with this brand of mattress. It would appear that consistency of manufacture might not be a strong point with this brand.

hours we were sleeping in a visible ditch created by our body sinking into the pillow top ending up with all sorts of ached and pains. We thought the mattress was faulty but after the 2nd mattress was delivered it did the same thing, the manufacturer and snooze said the pillow top can move in transit!! Mmm this didn't sound like a well manufactured mattress!!! We had a representative from Kingsdown come to our home to check the mattress integrity and it came back fine according to them but as a kind offering we were allowed to choose another mattress (3rd time lucky) going with a firmer comfort level, we went to red, the firmest of all which is much better and no more aches and pains but I am still not 100% convinced on the quality and the sleep match system geared at selling this brand. Incase you are looking to purchase one of these mattresses for your information I am 63kgs and my partner is 80kgs. Also during this process I have met 2 other local people that have experienced the same issues so my advise is choose comfort level carefully or not at all, go with a trusted brand for eg: Sealy or Slumberland.

hefty at 1st, I figured out that if we spend 8hrs of quality sleeping time on this bed, then what is the difference to spending 10 thousnd on a lounge? The money was justified and purchase made, withnew sheets and doona covers, matress protector and an Italian made gel pillow that takes the heat away from your head thrown in each, to bump it up to 7,500 with our RACQ membership deal. One week later the bed was custom built and delivered for us. It has now been 6 plus months and not one bad night of sleep has ever been had. It has a tendency to get warmer than our last one, but that is what the aircon is for. This is the most luxurious sleep ive had anywhere. Your partner if smaller will not feel it when you move, but there can be a few negatives. Firstly the mattress is super heavy to change sheets. Then you will need the 50cm fitted sheets to fit the mattress properly. And lastly the doona needed to be bought especially, along with the doona cover to hang correctly, which means sheets, and doona cover set styles/colours are harder to get, as they are still fairly rare at the moment. (Unless someone can point me in the right direction). Im talking about the kingsize though. All in all, everytime I think about going to sleep at night, I know it will be a good one. Quality sleep Can be warm in summer
