1 Everett G.  · NAB Choice Package $395 PA Ripoff – After 17 years I have decided to look elsewhere where the same services are offered free of charge.
1 Paresh  · Don’t go to NAB – NAB give me pre approval then they decline when come to final approval NAB hold me three months and come with loan decline.
2 ExNABie  · Not worth it – Decided to refinance with another bank after 5 months of dissatisfied service. All false promise and not worth the wait!

We have been with National Australia Bank for over 10 years and were even classified as a “premium/VIP” customer. Unfortunately, our recent experience shows that this means absolutely nothing. We recently applied for another new home loan with NAB. During the application process, we were clearly promised a better interest rate and a specific loan… Read more

structure by the banker managing our case. However, about one week before settlement, we discovered that the loan structure was already not what we had discussed. We immediately tried to contact the banker.

No response! No callback!

We then contacted NAB’s customer service centre multiple times, only to be told that "They are not sure about the details and have to wait for the specific banker to call back!”

That callback never happened!

With settlement approaching and no support from NAB, we were left in a position where we had little choice but to proceed.

Then came the most frustrating part. It was only AFTER settlement, when we checked our NAB loan account, that we discovered the interest rate was NOT the one that had been promised.

At this point, it felt unbelievable that even a Big Four bank like NAB could not stand by its own words.

So far, we still have not received any response from the banker or any meaningful resolution from NAB. If this is how “VIP customers” are treated, I would strongly suggest others think very carefully before choosing NAB.

After more than a decade with NAB, this experience has completely broken our trust. We are now looking for other better options in the market!

Not worth the headaches guys avoid NAB bank at all costs. A bunch of incompetent unprofessional id*ots. They are under a law sue under ASIC for failing to follow obligations enforced by law ppl look it up. Unprofessional they lose important documents show inadequate support when going through hardship for a medical episode out of your control. Over complicated assessments and poor communication leaving you in the dark at all times!

Very happy customer – I'm extremely happy with the loan product and service that I received. Bruce (Behrooz) has kept me informed of the progress proactively. Structured process followed and was very easy for me to work with Bruce and his team. For my low doc application, the turn around time was very short and this helped me to settle on property without any delays. Show details

Excellent service & quick processes – NAB has always been one of the top 4 banks in Australia and regularly featured as no.4 bank overall. However, I have seen significant improvement in loan processes and approval cycle. Show details

NAB not honour its own promise on mortgage rate — but get rectified after writing complaints on their website – We arranged with a female nab staff to change our $700k mortgage debit rate to 2.86% (nab choice package) on 4/3/2021 (was 3.45% for several years) by ringing 1300790747 at 9:00am, but now in late March nab informed us in a letter the new rate is 3.15% plus a $395 annual fee: what a quick change of face and dishonour of their own promises! ——… Read more

After writing complaint on NAB website complaint section they did reply & escalate the problem to “ Brendan Sutherland Case Manager, NAB Resolve Customer Resolution and Remediation”, and he resolved the problem by admitting nab handled the interest rate wrongly so he reset the rate back to originally agreed 2.86% and also refunded newly charged extra interest, so NAB does seem to listen to customer’s complaints, in this case I appreciate their efforts.

After banking with NAB for over 20 years. They declined my application based on age (56). They wanted a $200K deposit for a $550k loan. Several other lenders were prepared to honour the loan. I got one with another lender and am exceeding repayments without any difficulty. NAB post a substantial profit every year. While I’m sure they have… Read more

actuarial figures to justify their refusal, it doesn’t pass the pub test. They seem like ageist, greedy pigs and contributing to locking out first home buyers. Disgusting! Shop around, this bank doesn’t deserve your business.

Home loan 'reviewers' always conduct a marketing survey on you first before refusing your negotiations – Had two experiences with their home loan call centre staff. 1. During COVID their CEO sent out a 'call us if you need hardship support' - called them for them to tell me I'm not struggling and that they can pause my home loan at the same high rate for a few months. 2. Called them after news reports say they dropped 0.25% in rates. Call centre… Read more

staff says "before I review your rates I need to ask you a series of questions to help you" then asked me "what does lower rates mean to you? what do you plan to do?"

? what do I plan to do? with my hard-saved money?

TLDR: if you want to discuss lower rates, they will spend half an hour conducting a marketing style survey on you, put you on hold, to say sorry you're on the lowest rate nothing I can do here.

Would be nice if they said that upfront instead of wasting your half hour and putting you on hold?

What a script they follow.

NAB homeloans are [Content Removed] – Here’s some advice for anyone interested 1) You must phone every single time you want something to be done. 2) you must ask for every possible transaction step to be done. remotely not governed by an interest in your favour. They will just hide behind process and lie. 4) Most if not all staff in Nab are idiotic and care less for your interests than a half dead cockroach 5) The attitude from staff are idiotic and care less than something you dare not stand in 6) Seek out answers and document everything said and from whom 7) Nab will steal Your money every chance given 8) Don’t dare go to a branch thinking they will Do anything to help your role is to do as they say and only what suits them 9) They have technology to increase rates but not decrease unless you ask. Seems funny that exists 10) They don’t care what is written about them 11) Use the process of AFCA at the opportune times

Central Branch Cairns FNQ, Paul helped me switch to my DHOAS subsidy loan, it was quick easy and very fast he was excellent, several short phone calls and it was all done. If you are serving in the ADF, and you have not switched then you are throwing money away. I am $742 per month better off. Thanks Paul Choi NAB Show details

From the time I submitted all the required docs with my application, it took the guys at 700 Bourke St 1hr and 43 mins to get my loan unconditionally approved. Shame on you NAB – Will not use NAB again, we have purchased a property and we got the go ahead of an unconditional home loan approval. Poor service from NAB, I opened up my account as my partner has been with them for over 40 years and I'll be heading there to cancel my account and my partners accounts. SHAME ON YOU NAB!!!!! PS didn't have the balls to tell us we were told by our conveyancer. This isn't over as we would like to be compensated for our loss.

Please give me my money – I have trying to access my "available drawdown" of $4338 for over 6 months. Money I put aside for short term difficulties. This is due to a stuff up converting a home loan from citi bank, which they bought out. Now I am suffering quite a degree of financial hardship. Still I can't get my emergency money. NAB cares...yeh, right. It's NAB's mistake and it's my money. Why can't they fix it. Hopeless.

Do yourself a favour, stay away from NAB! There's hope with other banks! – By far the worst experience I've ever had trying to get a home loan. But don't think all banks are like that, they're not. I realised that after I applied with Westpac and was approved in 2 weeks with minimal fuss. Nab is extremely slow, be prepared to wait months from start to settlement (if you even get there). If you're a self employed and… Read more

business owner like me you will not believe the amount of questions and requirements they'll demand. No matter how well you earn and how long you've been with them they'll treat you as a newcomer and some of their requests are so bizarre that even my accountant never heard of. It's practically impossible to fulfil their requirements and quite frankly they don't care.

Getting your first home is one of the most beautiful experiences. Do not ruin it with NAB – What else to say? you probably have a good idea from reading the other comments. Not available, not transparent – I logged onto internet banking to review my interest rate as I've had zero correspondence from the bank. Talk the talk, but cant walk the walk – Was a home loan customer of NAB up until 12 months ago with excellent capacity to repay and strong equity. late...so we moved to Westpac where we are getting great service. NAB reached out recently and over a 15 minute conversation offered what they described a "super low rate rate". I will not pick up the phone again to this unprofessional organisation and would not recommend them to anyone. Bunch of time wasters.

Nightmare refinancing to a different Bank from NAB home loan – It has been a nightmare dealing with trying to refinance to a different bank. the amount of unprofessionalism that I have dealt with is ridiculous.. when requesting this information... A month has passed and my bank is ready for settlement but required a payout letterhead from nab, I was lied to, being told that these letters take 5 to 7 days to get and to expect it in the email, after insisting if there was absolutely anything else they could do and the person over the phone angrily stating no, couldn't even transfer me to somebody else for a second opinion I waited, called up again the following week only to be told that there was no request ever submitted and that there is no such thing as a 5 to 7 day wait time as they could provide me with that within 30 minutes... Today I am still waiting on that form that was promised to me 4 hours ago and since it is only valid for a day I fear I might have to endure this nightmare another day as my new refinancing bank won't have time to do the settlement by the end of today...
