I was told by NGRO (specifically [Name Removed]) that I could return it under warranty at my own cost and that the $70 postage would be refunded once the claim was processed. I returned the motor on 14 May 2025, followed all instructions, and even provided a tax invoice and my bank details yet I’ve had no refund and no reply to multiple follow-up emails since 13 June.
Eventually, the repaired motor was sent back, but it arrived poorly packed and slightly scuffed, despite us taking care to protect it during return. It also took six weeks to resolve, during which time our gate was left unsecured.
Yes, $70 might not seem like much but it’s the principle. I followed the process in good faith. Being ignored after doing everything right is incredibly frustrating. Based on other recent reviews, it seems I’m not alone and that’s what convinced me to share this.
Timeline (if helpful to others): • 28 April – Motor installed • 30 April – Charger produced burning smell • 1 May – Electrician confirmed charger was damaged • 2 May – Contacted NGRO & Centsys • 6–8 May – Replacement charger sent; motor briefly worked before showing new errors • 9 May – Told to return motor at my cost and refund would be processed later • 14 May – Motor returned ($70 via AusPost) • 21–27 May – Provided transformer details; told issue was being reviewed • 29 May – Case handed to Paul; re-sent previous info • 5–10 June – Motor returned; I flagged poor packaging and asked about refund • 13 June – Sent tax invoice and bank details • 24 June, 1 July, 7 July – Followed up three times — no response
If you ever need warranty support from NGRO, good luck. I really didn’t want to escalate this for a $70 refund, but based on my experience and others I’ve since read, I believe this is a pattern. I also think they rely on people giving up so I’m going to lodge a complaint with Fair Trading.
I hope this helps someone else avoid the same stress and runaround we’ve had to deal with.

Great Advice – Excellent advice from National Garage. I Installed the MS105MYQ on a large double tilt door after talking to the team at National Garage. There were a few possibilities and they had the experience and answers. Following this I installed the Merlin safety beam. All working extremely well. A slow smooth action. Thanks.

Was able to replace an old and busted ECO remote with a new generic one which ended up being over half the price. Have had it for more than a year now without issue, about to purchase another as a spare.
Disappointed – hi To whom it may concern, I ordered two garage door openers late last year. They were not delivered. I have emailed National Garage door Openers 3 times with no response. Replacement car key shell – The back fell off my new car key fob and I couldn't find it anywhere. I spoke to National Garage Remotes and Openers staff who were able to find a suitable key shell. I ordered same and they posted it promptly. Now my key fob is like new again. Thank you!

from them again. Look at the 39 negative feedbacks on eBay, I should have, I would not have bought from them had I read them. Lesson learned.

They use worst freight company - couriers Please - no goods delivered – They use the worst freight company in Australia - the foreign Singapore owned Couriers Please. Company says they sent parcel. Couriers please say never picked up. Result - no goods received, although they did give a refund. Plenty of other companies that sell same products and use reputable freight companies - then u might get your goods. No idea about product as impossible to receive.

up with the courier not picking it up, but stated by their Customer Relations Officer that it had been picked up. Over the next few days there was no tracking updates and then from 8/1/2025 I requested an update on 4 occasions from this officer who failed to respond to any of my requests. I did get an update from the courier that the delivery is now expected on the 13th Jan with a caution of further delays. Since my eBay purchase from this company the price has reduced by $55 and as at 9th January they were stating delivery within 2-4 days - ha ha (meanwhile I’m still waiting for a delivery now expected 14+ days). This delay is causing us real hassles with the non functioning old opener. To me this company has no idea of customer service. After a debatable date collection by the courier they pointed the problem to the couriers with no further responses to my requests and no ownership of delivery to the customer. This has been a very frustrating purchase. My view stay away from National Garage.

Not the best replacement – Not great, the new key fob is low quality and the instructions are too vague for the average tinkerer. Can't recommend, maybe I received a faulty one.

short cut doesn't seem to work either more than half the time, if you use siri it complains that garage doesnt have that ability or the app opens and just sits there saying updating and you then have to manually press the open button in the app, multiple steps for it to work, i want to just be apple to tell siri to open the garage door and that should work, it's pointless otherwise may as well use the normal remote control

my due diligence". He couldn't see it from my perspective. I ended up calling the manufacturer directly to sort out my problem, which only took a bit of experience and practical knowledge of the programming instructions. There was never a need to send it back. It's working well now, but I was quite disappointed with the National Garage approach.

Incorrect items, terrible support – Incorrect listings, wrong parts, terrible after-sales support. I purchased some torsion springs to suit my garage door, after googling what I wanted it came up with this company. Measured everything and chose the correct option. The springs are not strong enough to take the weight off my door. I have sent multiple emails but it seems I have been ghosted.. feeling ripped off
Good Aussie product – The item was delivered as ordered and was straight forward to install using the utube video it made it much better without the usual American accents
Easy ordering – This has been my third order with National remote. The online ordering is simple, delivery is fast and I get what I order. There are online links on the website to tell people more about their remotes, and how to program them.
