Worse experience

Worse Electricity company ever.

Do not go with this Company.

Not Transparency

The whole year they will send you estimate bill, then after 12 Months they will bill you for more then 2k for one month electricity bill. Show details

Watch for the fine print

Seems like a good deal, with cheap power access. So went with the battery add on to our existing solar. However we convinced to go on the VPP, what they don't tell you is that they can hold your battery at a certain charge denying you access. They can also trigger the battery to charge at night that you get billed for, which was never mentioned. Show details

Girl on the phone did not know anything

Called the Instyle Call Centre regarding getting a deal for electricity and solar.
The girl named 'Saroma' did not know anything and could not answer any of my questions properly.
Clearly undertrained and not articulate. Such a cringey conversation.

Zero understanding of privacy practices

Called to get a quote on getting an EV charger installed at the same time as solar is being installed. Wouldn't talk to me because the solar is in the landlords name. What kind of "[Content Removed]" (in the actual definition of the word not aggressive) privacy policy is this. They contacted me to get permission to install it. Maybe I should just say no and get him to go with someone else.
I didn't even get to asking how many panels they're putting up. This is not privacy protection it's just outright unprofessionally stupid.

Had much experience with rotten electricity providers but Nectr has been the most stressful. Since the moment we joined we have been harrassed to change to the new type meter that has timed charges, increasing their profits and reducing costs as no one needs to come out to read it. After 2 refusals they said it was faulty. Asked for evidence of fault, none provided, just a statement of seals checks completed by provider. What the? That isnt a fault. Now they have threatened disconnection. I would recommend you choose another provider if you have an older meter or are not on timed charges, because that's how they make their money. one of my most regretful life decisions to go to Nectr. Show details

Did not provide service for NO REASON!

Despite an impreccable credit history, high income, no defaults at all, Nectre refused to provide me with a service quoting "credit does not meet minimum standards" - which is ridiculous, as the credit body that they use is Equifax, which my rating score shows "very good". Experian and illion both show "excellent" score.
I was disappointed because my credit allowed me to buy a 900k house, but apparently was not enough to get an offer from a silly energy company! Show details

Took a week to connect power

We moved into a property and chose Nectr for electricity. No power upon taking possession and have had to constantly chase them up to get connected for a whole week. After 3 days and me chasing multiple times, was told that power looked active their end and to call the distributor. Distributor then informed no request to connect received. Multiple more calls throughout remainder of the week and finally had to resolve issue myself with the Distributor as Nectr clearly couldn't. I would never recommend Nectr. Show details

Unable to proceed, same issue as another reviewer

Had the exact same problem as another reviewer.

Nectr rejected my application, citing a bad credit score??? Their customer service is terrible, and I received no help to go further.

I didn't receive any email upon signup, and couldnt even access an account. Upon calling them, they gave me some dumb answer about how my credit score wasnt good enough which is why I didnt receive an email. If I didn't become a customer, why didnt you just tell me outright?

All good, except for the invoicing

no issues with rates and customer service, excellent. invoicing is another thing alltogether.
it never shows the details and how it is calulated. have to ask every time for the mathematical details.
and if i am in credit, it does not show that either. are they trying to hide something. Show details

Are Nectr negotiable on either their Feed-in Tarriff rates or price of solar system?
Are they offering any discount bonuses if we opt to instal with them?

Current Nectr customer, however seriously considering switching to Origin and buying a solar bundle from them- similar price- but 20c FiT (or 12c if system installed by another supplier which is $2,200 cheaper than Nectr quote for the EXACT brand and size Solar equipment). Huge difference to Nectr’s 3.85c FIT.

Are Nectr negotiable as as are really to instal, but will go with the best price retailer.

I am considering Nectr, currently with Origin.
Find the electricity market is full of crooks and gougers.
Have 1.5 kw solar roof system with 44c Govt rebate and 5c/kwh.
Also get age Govt. rebate ~$100/quarter.
Does anyone have a similar set up and how does Nectr accounts billings comply i.e. are Nectr accounts fair and all payments accurate? No hidden fees/charges etc.?
Note payments are monthly, so expect meter read every 3rd month other two readings are estimates?
