Contacted Nectr and Luke Grainger came to my residence and explained what l required to power my house l accepted his advice and went ahead with a solar and battery system. The system was installed and is working as expected. Very happy with Luke and the installation team. Many thanks and reckon mend. Show details
I have called you well over 15 times in the last 3 weeks, I have only been able to speak to someone twice. The system you installed for Nick scali in WA has a fault. Instead of actually looking into the issue you have just sent it to a 3rd party who has emailed instructions on how to reconnect the inverter to the internet when the internet is not… Read more
the issue as I can clearly still see grid usage on the monitoring app.
You used a sub contracter to install the system and need to organise them to go site and fix the problem.
Absolutely terrible customer support.
I have been declined "due to not meeting credit requirements", however I have never missed a payment nor been declined credit *for actual money*. If it's another reason, be transparent about it. I don't think I'll bother trying again in future. … Read more
Also, the very serious decline email uses their "get ready to take the sting out of energy bills" image, which I find both hilarious and tone deaf.
Follow-up · They provided no further explanation for the decline, nor the credit requirements, nor the actual reason.

Following my last review about Nectr, I received an email from Nectr asking me to contaçt them. This won't help me as Nectr don't care. I asked them about the controlled load charge and I got an email from Nectr saying. This charge is when you have appliances like electric hot water or a pool is connected to a different phase. Still doesn't answer… Read more
my questions about why prior to 2018 I had never had a controlled load charge on any electricity bills.

Corporate greed and corruption – Warning this company is corrupt. The QLD State and Federal Government gave $1,300 credit to households to ease the cost of living. Since AUG23 to NOV24 my daily supply cost has gone from 99c to $1.32 (33.3% increase) and tariff from 23.98c to 34.43c (43.6% increase). Inflation over 14 months has not been around 40%. The corrupt part of this is… Read more
Nectr has received credit for all their customers and then has decided to change the fees to absorb it. This goes against why the Government gave the handouts in the first place. This corporate greed is why Australian's are suffering in this economical crisis.
Signed up for new service. Declined due to credit - have not missed a repayment over 2 years - WTH? – I signed up for a new service with Nectr since my current energy provider wants to hike my rates by over 70% next month. Signup process was great untill I got a notice saying they declined due to credit checks. My Credit file is rated GOOD and I have not missed a bill repayment (according to my credit file) over 2 years! Also Have paid every… Read more
utility bill on time for over 5 years now. What kind of company rejects customers with this record? absolute rubbish criteria.
Signed up a year ago for 100% clean energy and now their new rates are lower than before – Hats off to Nectr for being able to look after it's existing customers! I signed with Nectr online when we moved house about 18 months ago - main requirements being 100% clean energy (as its a rental property so no solar panels) and decent prices. Overall been happy - Electricity supplied (100% renewable) and the bills come monthly. Haven't… Read more · 1
ever felt the need to call or query a bill since joining which is also nice.
However today, I received and email from them saying my original plan was coming to an end. Expecting the typical price rises of late (especially being an energy company when it usually is only price rises, like my soon to be ex-gas supplier for example has given me notice of a 30% price rise 2 weeks ago and petrol at 2.20 per litre)
I was instead very pleasantly surprised to see that the usage charge will be dropping by 20% and the supply charge is also dropping by 10% (see screenshot from email)! Happy days.
Anyway a great example of "How to turn a reasonably happy customer into a very happy customer."
One side note is monthly billing - With the monthly billing, every 3rd month is a catch up bill which correlates to when the meter is read. This means there is natural tendency for a larger-than-normal bill around September (for the winter quarter meter read) followed by cheaper bill around march following the summer period meter read. That's all by the by so long as you are prepared for it.

They definitely are offering good prices to get you to sign up and then hiking them up within the first 3 months. Mine also went up by 15% and with only 9 days notice. Beware of this company. Show details
Follow-up · The initial rates were the best on the NSW gov website for my area and they still have those rates on offer for new customers. I did try to negotiate when they put them up, but they were not interested in keeping my business. I was notified about the increase via email.

Highly recommend – Been with them for year and haven't had any problems, Have done numerous price comparisons over the years, and they have always been the best priced. Show details
Paying off Solar Panels – I purchased my 10kw solar from MC Electrical in Brisbane using the Nectr payment plan 6 months ago. The whole experience has been great. I was paying a huge $500+ per month in electricity. I am now paying $320 per month for the panels (over 3 years) plus $130ish (sometimes less) for the electricity. So even though I am paying off the panels, I… Read more
am still paying less than before. In 2.5 years I'll be saving close to $400 a month. I have found Nectr to be 100% legit with no hidden nasties. Easy to contact and easy to deal with.
Unbelievable – Unbelievable the first energy retailer to actually respond to your account (Krissa) queries promptly. But I left them because they changed rate after I join in. Show details

Signed up with this company to provide electricity to our home. The transfer was completed on 1/12/25. On 21/1/26 I receive an email telling me that all the supply and usage rates are going up by over 15% on 30/1/26. Over 15% increase after 52 days as a customer! Makes me wonder whether their initial offer was just a hook to get new customers.

Absolutely joke of an electricity retailer. Literally 1 month after signing up the prices were hiked up and are no longer competitive. I’m guessing they offer people a competitive to encourage sign up then hike the fees, praying on the consumers who don’t check their emails or can be bothered to switch retailers again. Avoid at all costs Show details
3 years of solid service spoiled by months of poorly communicated changes to services and a disembodied app. I had purchased a battery and solar package from Nectr, and for most of the time it was great. The app showed the live activity of the setup, it estimated usage and I got a discount from being in the VPP. About 6 months ago, I got dumped… Read more
from the VPP with almost no explanation. After enquiring, they promised my discount would stay but the VPP was no longer operating. After this, it was removed from the app, along with the energy tab which showed real time usage.
4 months later, the discount stopped, even though it was part of my plan. Multiple emails were ignored about any of this and no explanation was sent out to customers. I paid off the battery and then asked to be properly removed from the VPP program as my battery was still connected to Nectr. No response.
A week later I moved to a new provider who was able to provide a better service for batteries and when they attempted to add me to their VPP, they were told I was still connected to Nectr’s. More emails and calls to unenroll me have been ignored since.
This was a huge shame. I had a great experience with Nectr and recommended them to many people but the last 6 months and the lack of disrespect - effectly holding my battery hostage (I can’t export or automate my battery while Nectr still technically control it) against my will.
Edit: My battery provider was able to unenrol my battery within 2 hours of asking them. Good riddance to Nectr.

Signed with them only to get ghosted a few months later. of this they just stoppped responding all together, wasted 4 months of my time. The customer service is so bad im not even sure that this is a legitimate business.
Was informed that I could not sign up due to not meeting their credit requirements. You obviously need to be mortgaged up to the hilt and have frequently applied for credit to get a good rating by the company they use. You also can only sign up online and with either direct debit or credit card payment. No option for BPAY or Bank Transfer. They might be the cheapest, but only for a selected group of customers. I tried to switch my electricity provider to Nectr, filledout the application and submitted. After 2 days I get SMS saying application has been declined due to not meeting credit requirement. did not know Nectr is a kind of bank, completely useless, Nice experiance for me, good punishment to me for .... , why did I apply, my BAD!
Refused to accept my transfer from another provider citing bad credit - I have perfect credit, have never missed a payment for anything. Completely useless, however after seeing other reviews I am thankful I won't be dealing with them. Show details
Organized an appointment for a site visit with for a solar battery, only for the rep to cancel the appointment, reschedule and then never show up. Two days after the no show, I still haven’t received any contact. Judging by my experience and a lot of other negative reviews it was probably for the best. Show details
Do yourselves a favour and steer well clear of Nectr. 13 months on from installation and we are still dealing with a system that is not operating anywhere near what was promised. We are now stuck paying double for our power bills and Nectr won't take responsibility for their misleading sales tactics. This company should take a good hard look at… Read more
their sales process, they cannot be trusted and won't be held, not even close to the production rates in our contract. Nectr says it's the installers problem, but yet when you call Instyle who were our installers you get put through to Nectr, and they are refusing to help us. I only wish someone had warned us against them.
Horrible service. Their people installed solar over the roof gutters and now I can't fix my leaking gutters. I called 4 times 2 months ago and no support yet. Now the calls are not going through, looks like they have blocked me. The workers can't be such fools to have installed the panels covering the gutters. We came to know about it after 6 years of installation when the gutters started leaking and needs to be fixed. Show details

Have made formal complaint to EWOQ the energy ombudsman. I've never heard of them before. They've just sent me an unsolicited letter claiming to be supplying my electricity. They don't. They also threatened to disconnect my account if I don't contact them, which they can't do obviously. I don't know how stand-over tactics like this are legal. Show details
Was happy for the first year with competitive pricing. But just given two weeks notice that peak rate is increasing by over 100% and off peak rate and daily service fee increasing by over 50%. Avoid this company Show details
Would not recommend Nectr/Hanwha Energy. I was overcharged by almost double my usual bill when I was using less power than usual so I decide to switch provider, then when I questioned Nectr they blocked access to my account before the final bill had even been paid. Only after getting EWOQ involved did I managed to secure a partial refund for… Read more
incorrect charges. They try to tell me all readings are correct but they charged me $280 for one month. Then I switch to origin and I physically used more power to proove there was an issue, next bill with origin was only $160, Nectr seems to be dodgy/untrustworthy.
Look around - Nectr is expensive – Nectr Energy price increases (28c to 34c) in 2024 were 10-20% more than other retailers - my fault for not checking. March 2025 price increases (34c to 41c) are another 20% again — moving to Alinta Energy with CHEAPER rate (28c) for next 12months. Show details
AVOID NECTR - Poor customer service and expensive – I updated my payment details via their app (which is quite bad) approx 10 days before my bill was due for payment. When payment day came, they charged my old payment details instead and then emailed saying I didn’t pay my bill. I responded asking them to charge the new payment details I had added and explicitly telling them not to charge my old… Read more
payment details. I got an automatic reply that I should expect a response in one day. I send follow up emails but receive no response. One week later and they direct debit my old account details again. Still no response to my email. I’ve emailed again to complain, and still no response. I’m not even sure if that’s legal, to charge my account when I’ve withdrawn permission to use that account and provided an alternative. It’s also very frustrating that at cannot initiate payment from my end - BPAY is not offered in the app or on the invoice and I have emailed to request BPAY details but never received a response. Pricing-wise, NECTR is not that cheap anymore. They were quite cheap maybe 1.5-2 years ago, but prices went up significantly last year. If you look at the Energy Made Easy government website, NECTR are currently the most expensive option (at least this is true for my postcode). Would not recommend.
Edit: I would just like to update to say that Nectr have still not responded to my emails or my complaint. But they have emailed to let me know they are increasing their rates. LOL. What a joke of a company.
DISAPPOINTMENT – Have been with Nect for a few years now and they only do estimated readings and only do a proper reading every 3months. Have been over charged on so many occasions. I have decided to change as their electricity is way to expensive. On my last bill was charged $800 to $900 just for a month. I paid it but they overcharged me and now I'm waiting on a… Read more
refund which has now taken 5 weeks and still no refund. I have contacted the 3 times in regards to this but all the excuses are being used. I rang them today for the 3rd time and now I'm having to wait another 10 days for my refund another excuse. They will process it today when they should have processed it 4 weeks ago. Excuses excuses. They trick you into a worse plan – Be very careful with this company. They signed us up for a plan a year ago for 10kw solar panels with an attractive plan. They coerced us a year in to update your plan which made us worse off. They do not respect cool down periods as the plan you start with is deemed "obsolete" pay through the nose if you go with these guys. We regret ever having anything to do with this company.
